Bumped into him in Moon Township, Pa. three times in the late 90's/early 00's. Perfectly friendly all three times -- on one of the occasions I was having car trouble and he was jogging on a nearby trail. He came over and asked if I needed any help, then stayed and talked with me about cars and stuff until the AAA guy showed up. Seemed like a very nice guy. RIP, brother.
DiBiase would never have the success with the MDM gimmick without Virgil. With his condescending sneer and a great actor's timing, Virgil was the perfect sidekick. I always loved to see Virgil "count out the money."
That sort of gimmick needed a valet of some type. But even without it Ted DiBiase was a highly accomplished veteran of the squared circle and would’ve made it work. He was just that good.
Sad. Virgil beating Million Dollar Man was one of my favorite "underdog beats the baddie" storylines from my childhood. When I think of bodyguard gimmicks, he is still the first that comes to mind. R.I.P.
Rip Virgil. I met him in the early 2000's in Atlantic City and he was one of the nices people I'd ever met. He was still pretty fit when I saw him. It was sad to see him so thin and frail.
When you die, and you will, it's inevitable at some point, it won't be a happy ending either as you start to black out and fade away, screaming in your mind but nothing comes out to save you. RIP Mr. Jones.
@@BigBadJerryRogers Not if you get impaled from an accident and bleed out watching yourself slowly succumb to the inevitable. You don't know how or when you will die. May not be in your sleep.
Sad to hear. He seemed like a guy who really struggled coming to terms with his career, often acting as if him and Ted DiBiase were much closer than they actually were. In fairness he admitted a few years back in an interview that he was the cause of many of his own problems and I can't help but respect a man like that. Rest in Peace virgil I enjoyed watching you as a kid
He was the sidekick for the Million Dollar Man. He did it so perfectly too. Then sadly he became the next generations joke, meme, whatever. He was a great wrestling guy. He played his part again perfectly and he didn't deserve the aftermath of it. RIP 🙏 🕊 Virgil.
RIP Virgil I had the honor of meeting him at an autograph signing. He was a very chill nice guy. His time as million dollar man bodyguard was awesome. It makes me sad to hear of another wrestler die young.
In 2004-2005 I was going to school and living outside of Pittsburgh, near the airport. I lived in a large community of condos there was a nice gym I was working out one night and he was in there also took me about 20 minutes to get the nerve to talk to him I had grown up watching him in the WWF and the NWO. He was so polite and talked to me quite a while. He didn't have one bad thing to say about anyone in the business... He told me his time with Ted in the early 90's was the best... He was a lot bigger then I thought he looked on tv. Good boxer, I offered to pay him for a autograph he wouldn't take the money he said he enjoyed the talk and the fact that I knew a good part of his history not just the big names. He fell in hard times as the years went on from what I always read but I will remember that interaction for the rest of my life. Rest in peace Mike, thanks for the memories !!!
What?? What’s said, and no offense here Brother but this is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen. Yet you’re the one breaking this news for me. None of the other wrestling channels that I’m subscribed to. Thank you and bless Virgil
I’ll never forget when I was ten and asked Virgil to sign my card outside a card convention he signed it then said it’d be ten bucks and I told him to keep my card. Rest easy guy, thanks for all the memories
If you'll walk pass his grave you will owe him $35, and if you'll take a picture in front of it, it will be $45. Reports about rapidly moving and changing locations grave are staggering.

Thanks for this brief rundown of the history.. As Virgil was a guy in the business i didn't know much about..
