- I spent 24 hours exploring the loneliest town in America! Monowi is a town in Nebraska with only one resident. Today we’ll meet that resident to understand why one person would live here all alone.

Welcome to where I grew up 😊 you actually were standing in my grandparents house in the beginning of the video and you are braver than me in doing so. Elsie and her late husband Rudy bought the tavern from my grandparents way back in the 70’s. I left as Elsie said not much to hold young people there and while I still reside in Nebraska it is a much more populated place. I am also a UA-camr but I am very busy and it is more of a place to share the paranormal and interests for Starseeds and everything metaphysical. I have been told the name Monowi is Ponca Indian meaning flowers in the hill it’s interesting but I have never validated it. To overcome loneliness I have this thought to share with you “when you arrived in this place you did it alone and when you leave you will also do it alone but truly we are never really alone because the unseen to our conscious mind is always by our sides helping us navigate this lifetime” … thanks for sharing your adventure and have a great life!!! ✨💜🧚♀️💜✨

I just saw her today, going back tomorrow. Currently sitting in the town my dad grew up in 7 miles east of Monowi called verdel.
I would honestly love living there i enjoy my alone time just my pets and i drinking coffee and reading not anyone to bother me no loud annoying sirens or people arguing and fighting just complete

I used to think that the worst thing ever was to be alone but the older I got the more I started to realise that being alone wasn't as bad as I first thought.

Hope she feels safe there, with nobody to call for help it takes guts to live alone in a fairly isolated area.
Well with no one around her biggest threat is probably wild animals. And even if not , she’s always got the 2nd amendment

Abandoned houses deteriorate pretty quickly. If they get ransacked they deteriorate even faster of course. These houses don't have to be abandoned for a century to look bad already.

I grew up near there and now live in a city of nearly 200,000. A major difference between there and the city is in the city you have anonymity. Out there everyone knows everybody.
