- I bought a totaled 1999 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide from an auction sight unseen and COMPLETELY rebuilt it with some help from Power Cult Performance and many others. It goes from a stock, old man bike to the clubstyle bike of my dreams!

I've always been a fan of taking something old / chrome and then making it look like a current model year first owner sitting pretty with a dealer trying to talk you into "options" on the show room floor yall nailed this project and I can't wait to see what yall come up with next
You should film a parts video where you go into depth of each part and where you got it and put a link in the description for each part
I put the tbr 2-1 on my 05 super glide and it’s absolutely amazing, the carbon on the back is the perfect little touch
7/8 grips feel so much better than 1", love the dirt bike feel on a Harley. I would suggest if you're having wrist problems while riding, switching out for 7/8 throttle sleeves, there's a few companies that make them as I think your grips are 1" from what I can tell... maybe I'm wrong.
then he may have to change the bars. cant just use 7/8 on 1” bars🤷♂️
86 trueno project!!!!!!!!
I heard Ogden, seems we're both in Utah. Looking forward to seeing the final build. Mine is just super clean but mostly stock, I just plan to get new tank and fenders and do my own custome paint on it.
NOW Thats What I Call Content: Vol. 1
sick vid bros
Hey nice bike, first timing watching you guy. I noticed at 5:43 of the video you guys hit the oil pan while putting the bike on the lift. Later on you said something about being carefull buying from online auctions because tje oil pan was bad.. Was just putting this out there, again nicr bike man!
Well it was pissing oil before they put it in the stand. Plus no way they hit it hard enough to put a hole in it.
Nice to see this beautiful bike, and nice guys working on it. But also the tools. As a french mechanic,I work in a quarry on bigger machine and I really hate electric and air tools. I need to feel the torque and the effort. I also little by little forget the socket wrench for the classic wrench. I will never consider I am right but I feel more confident with my wrench sometime with a hammer in my left hand. I'm 37 y o but I feel like 80 watching you americans work with these tools I have in my worshop but only use as "the last hope". Thanks a lot for sharing
I’m from Australia and work in a quarry and use an electric rattle gun on literally every single bolt I can, work smarter not harder?
The shot with you remove in the box from the backseat at the shop with the mountains in the background is priceless
Can I please get some info on what rear fender you used???? Want to do same project on my 1999 FXDWG, just can’t find a seat and rear fender and you nailed it! Please please let me know 😭😭😭😂👍👍👍👍👍
Great build and great video footage. I know you tried to keep the reveal a secret, but wishing for more details on the build. World needs more late 90's Dyna content (mines a 98)
@@PowerCult Im just one of the rare ones who dont mind 30 min episodes times 10 episodes for a build.
I had a 02 FXDX I loved that bike if I had not totaled it I would still be on it today she was concord purple I called her the purple people eater I put a stage II big bore 95 ci kit with the SE 203 cams and a Thunderheader she was a screamer. Good luck enjoy her
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 1999 fxds dyna. I'm going a way different route with mine. I'm going for a old FL look. I about 1/4 the way through the build. When I'm done I'll try and get some pics or video for you to check out. It'll be a big contrast to what yours looks like.
i got a sick 2000 fxdwg, loved it, got hit by a drunk driver. totaled the bike. i kept it tho. most it was fine. oil pan was just like urs. i found another one online, and had it shipped to GA from PA via my cell phone while i was at work. so i got a complete-ish parts bike. super rad dynas can be had on CL for under 5k.
Note to self. Check oil level BEFORE starting salvage auction Harley.
Sick build brother! Gave me some ideas for my 1995 wide glide!
Beautiful build boys ! Congratulations
Nothing better than the smell of a new seat 😝 nice build
What a couple of hackers they don't even know how to remove a fork tube properly
Did you know that the Dynas have different neck rakes depending on the model? The best for handling are 28 degree frames.
I wasn't going to thumbs up... But two dudes two upping on a pretend motorcycle deserves a like.
Thought i was the only one rockin the camo mechanix ... touch’e power cult and props on the baddass build!!!
I really enjoy the build video, thanks for sharing 🤘, dope bike💯
Gerday mate, its a lot of waiting sending parts, getting parts getting ready but no build yet. Cant comment yet, I'm waiting.
I picked up my 1995 for $3500. Screamin Eagle stage 3. I've got a couple UA-cam videos up on it. still upgrading piece by piece.
This is my absolute dream bike
@@PowerCult I'm jealous and happy for you. Ill get mine soon! Ride safe brother
I rode a 03 Wide Glide for ten months untill my butt got run over and totalled the bike . My favorite bike because I was working at the Harley shop in Moore and I had to go to El Reno to pick it up for the shop , then hid it behind the Harleys that I unloaded from the factory . I was able to hide it for a month before they knew it was in the back , lol .
Hope you are ok brother
@@jakedragsknee Two inches short on the left side , lol
Man, I hate to see that duck tail rear fender go. To me they are sexy and distinguish the bike from other models. One serious question. Why change from belt drive to chain? I’ve had each on different bikes and the belt is so much nicer not having to clean and adjust every 500 miles. If there is a benefit to chain over belt, I can’t figure out what it would be.
I'd love that seat and bar set up on an '07 FXDWG. Anyone know which year seats are interchangeable for Dynasty?
Perhaps I missed it...but what did this thing cost? How would that compare to a totally restored bike on the open market?
Following
What is that headlight fairing?🥺
Big money build
I have a 2000 Dyna that looks just like it....what kinda back finder did you use ...
So sick! I never liked Harley’s but at the age of 42 I figured out why. I hate chrome. Now I want to build one and scrape tail on one.
The fact that he was using a snap on socket to beat on really hurt
Warranty
Not my style of bike but I love the color and forks. Came out nice!
How long does the knocking sound last on a fresh motor build? I just finished mine and not sure if its coming from non cycled oil
Love the build! Currently converting my '15 Dyna FXDB into a club style bike. Had a question about your paint. What was the cost of the total paint? And who did it for you? Thanks! Ride safe!
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Oh wow mine is the same purple two tone! I've only ever seen two other Harleys in the purple. Too bad you didn't keep it
What did this run you in parts? Price wise. Trying to make some of the same changes, just wondering how much I’m looking at
Pretty much the same setup as my '94 FXDWG.
Hey man, can i ask which triple trees that are and the fairing ?
What crash bar did you go with??
Color is old school. My 07 FXDL was the same gray with maroon inset on tank and pin stripe. Beautiful scoot you have.
I need to know what rear fender you guys used
I love the before restored bike better. SOA really ruin a clubstyle bike for me personally, but respect for that awesome build bro
I’ve got to agree with you. I’m not sure if it’s the style I don’t like after SOA or all the dentists who went and got the same style bikes built
SOA? Lol. Nothing to do with club bikes. Club bikes inspired SOA. 😂
Harleys are supposed to have chrome anyways.
What is the rear fender and what kind of fairing is that?
Nice Dyna brother I miss my FXDX I had a 2000 model purple and black she was amazing anyhow I love the color and the faring it all looks amazing. 👍👍💪💪
Where did you get the bell helmet accessories
I like the color gray matches the black awesome 🔨🔨🔨💯💯💯
Thank you! I like it too!
im looking for a rear fender for my 2000 dyna, just wondering where you got yours from?
Nice Bike! Fun video!
Ron Jeremy called, he wants his mustache back😆😆😆
What did you do for the dual rotor conversion for the front end?
Your bike came out beautiful most of all I like the paint
On the wide glides they have more front fork rake then the other dyna did u change something to in the triple trees to lessen the rake
what triple tree and forks did you use
I’ve seen the question multiple times but man what rear fender did you use? I can’t stand the stock bobtail fender and can’t find shit online. I really like the fender you went with.
It came off a similar year FXDX. Bolted right up!
No crome ? Thats like having french frys with no ketchup .
I expected to be impressed, but I'm not gonna lie, I also expected not to like the build. I tend to go into rebuilds with a certain degree of... doubt lol. I can't say I like the bars or the pipes (I do like the sound, not as much the looks), but goddamn if that thing doesn't look like a fucking gem! Definitely something to be proud of. Looks better than most Harleys rolling off the line for 2020.
Can't wait till the day I get to build my own dyna,or fxr
Very nice build. One day I'd love to put a round fender on my fatbob. Still looking around to see what my options are.
Oh that’s what I’m building now but its a 99 fxd SG on a budget .. Ghetto Fab
I’m Taking NOTES
Definitely a great build
I think the skull was the previous owners self portrait
looks like a newer glide! Great rebuild
I have Heritage Softail, 92 that i want to restore, i have never done anything like this before but its a bucket list kinda thing, any help you can give would be really be appreciated.
Surely would have been so much easier to use an fxd or fxr as base for build
Idk if he mentioned it but does anyone know if he put or wide glide triple tree and forks on or what?
What was more or less the cost on labor to get the bike build done?
What u use to get rid of the wide glide front end
Badass bike bro, love the Color you chose for the tins.
Oh nice my I have the 13 spoke rim I feel not special but it’s cool to hear they are a little rarish?
Miles Mortensen that’s kinda cool
Miles Mortensen also nice bike man
Love this build man! About to to it to my 95 wide glide! What are them forks?
Yeah I have a ‘99 road king that I converted into a road glide……wanna do a smaller dyna build next
I agree..don't like the chrome..my 2001 FXDXT is mostly black and I love it.
I need to know what fender fit for that wide glide I’m trying to do the same to mine
Hey power cult what the chance u still have the palm tree air cleaner still i want it need to have it
The ae86 in the beginning tho
Ae85 I think
When you changed the triple trees to a narrow glide did it change the rake of your bike?
Yep! It now has the same rake as a lowrider
Looks like Utah!
Gah damn that is one good looking bike
sick video
nice build, awsome vid,..
bike looks awesome !!
What rear fender and tank was that from? Fxr? What year? Anything else required for the wheels? Assumed cast wheel with 3/4 axle. I have a 98 fxdwg looking to do a similar build.
Plz can you comment the bars n risers sizes or link for me cheers
Great looking bike man, if you don't mind me asking, what was the total build cost roughly with all the parts & initial cost of the bike? Also where did you get the leather riding vest with the flag lining please?
You'd be much better off buying one already in good shape. I have a similar 99 fxdx I bought stock for 5500 that was already in great shape. I've already put 5k more into it to get pretty close to his level minus the chain drive swap (which alone costs about 1200 with labor). My bike was also already blacked out. My estimates knowing how much all his parts cost plus an estimated 2k he spent on the original bike plus labor for all that is well over 10k. That was alot of $$$$ in labor. You can see my bike stock and then now on Instagram @bradrickgray just so you get an idea.
Awesome Moto
What kind of bike is this? I'm really new to motorcycles but I've been a car guy my whole life. Looking to expand my knowledge and I really like the way this bike looks and sounds.
It's a Harley Davidson Dyna Wide-Glide. Or FXDWG
What's up with the fxrt & fxrp at the shop?
Does a wide glide have more of a rake in the frame than the other dynas??
Yp
What a beast!
Mushrooming that snap on socket hurt my heart
What leather vest is that? Gotta get one.
damn id like to get that rear wheel , tke off , that spoked ...
Hey fellas I need a little advice. I have a 2012 Wide glide and I want to do a mid/narrow glide conversion on the front end. To get rid of that wide glide rake and throw a wider tire instead of the skinnier glide tire. Do I just need to swap the tree to get rid of that rake? If so what’s my best option? I have the stock forks and tree right now (49mm). If you got some time hit me back. Thanks
I can’t speak for sure about a 2012, but on this 99 some of the rake is in the tree and some is in the frame itself. Swapping to a 39mm narrow glide tree made it have the same rake as a lowrider
21:37 truly wholesome moment
Amazing bike bro I’ve got a 02 that I’m building right now, any pointers on what not to do.
Yeah uouuuu
