Day 1 tearing into the 2001 FXDX! We worked on getting the bike running better, ran into a couple issues, and some more parts showed up! Follow along as we get this bike dialed in.

Look forward to your videos. I like the choice of VR1 Racing oil, an ace local guy mech here on Maui suggested I run it 10 years ago and have been using it since, but I run straight 60 weight. 03 FXD 95 in. Mondello heads DarkHorse crank, Wood TG8 gear drive cams, dynatech ign, Blah blah blah, still run the rejetted CV carb, Bassani 2 into 1 stain;ess exhaust and it runs great.
I love my 88 inch. U can stay with the new bikes.!!

I have an 01 DX as well. They are just so damn fun! I have a Modded CV and she riiips. Always wondered what the Mikuni would be like. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with for the build.
I have a rejetted CV on my 03 95 in 110 horse bike and like it
Unless you do a big bore, the stock carb "jetted" will work as well. No added space= no extra benefit.

Love what you guys do with these bikes. Juan is such a skilled dude to have around. I'm considering going from my whiplash on my Street glide to a saddleman but my shortass is concerned it will sit me higher so afraid to put out the cash....anyone have experience with that swap?

When flowing through a constricted area of a pipe, a fluid’s velocity increases and its static pressure decreases. This principle is known as the Venturi effect.
What Is the Venturi Effect?
Skyscrapers are a common sight in any large city. When standing near the base of one of these giant structures, you may notice that the wind blowing around you is seemingly faster and stronger than elsewhere. One of the factors that can contribute to this wind acceleration is the squeezing of air through narrow spaces when several skyscrapers stand close to one another. This “channeling” effect is just one form of a larger fluid flow principle - the Venturi effect.
The Venturi effect states that in a situation with constant mechanical energy, the velocity of a fluid passing through a constricted area will increase and its static pressure will decrease. The effect utilizes both the principle of continuity as well as the principle of conservation of mechanical energy.

A constant velocity carburetor is altitude compensating for the fuel/air mixture. Why they run them on Rotax 912 ULS aircraft engines that go up and down in altitude. Does the Mikuni have that feature too?
No, but it has a fuel pump shot that makes it rip arse.
