When I tried to render the first half of the animation, blender would crash every 10 frames. it's almost like there was an invisible force not wanting me to change Haurchefant's fate or something. The second half, however, was rendered without a single problem. I have never faced so many technical problems on a single project and I'm glad it's finally done.
The sad thing is that I can see this happening for our poor WoL. Everyone turns on us, we flee to Ishguard and to the only allies that we can ask for help and then HW does one punch after another. Its a wonder the WoL isn't suffering from CPTSD at this point.
And this, my friends, is the exact moment where sprout White Mage decided to lay down her cane and take up her sword as a Dark Knight. The wheels of Justice having failed, we now needs take the reigns.
I leveled Paladin up through this point in HW. This was the last dungeon I did before switching to Dark Knight which has been my main class ever since.
Dark Knight's story is so good when Uldah is fresh, and this just fuels it even more. The more horrifying heartbreaks and infuriating mistreatments the WoL faces before picking up that job crystal, the stronger the story hits (imo.)
Legend say if you run Dragonsong's Reprise (Ultimate) and get the Infirmity debuff from the lance, If you are a healer there is additional sentence in the tooltip saying: "There's nothing you could have done." Tried to backtrack the video where I heard it, but I cannot find it anywehere. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.
Same. I ran with a group of sprouts a few days ago who were doing the Vault for the first time and I was just like...."oh you're going to be in so much pain...." (It's even worse if they run with duty support since he's the tank the whole way through and giving you words of encouragement)
The closest the camera is from a character's eye, the more empathy it generates This is why when we want the public not to be too invested we have the victim die from afar, while when we want them to empathize we zoom on the eye like this. Think about it while watching movies and you'll notice it
This is the kind of shit Fordola saw in you with Echo and wondered how the fuck you deal with all that and don't break. Good shitpost turned into solid story, very impressive.

There is two characters that the Warrior of Light canonically just can't get over running into, if I recall the Endwalker spoilers, and having it be Nael Van Darnis in the Coils and Hauchefaunt is probably as fitting as it'll ever get.

I'll be real, with how Haurchefant was forced onto us as characters it 1 made me instantly be like "okay this guys going to die" and 2 due to how fast it all happened and because it didn't feel very organic, it really didn't feel like that big of a deal. Oh look a guy we met a few weeks ago died, so sad anyway. Honestly I wasn't even a big fan of Papalymo but his death got me real sad. Much more of a build up but I will admit I started in Gridiana so that probably helped.

For real, the switch in animation quality is palpable when it goes from shitpost to serious. They've got some amazing talent when it comes to facial expressions and lighting when the time calls for it.

No, that still doesn't explain why Ramuh turned into a hot centaur dude or why Titan lost a lot of weight and got a bike. Either WoL or Ryne have a very active and possibly damaged imagination.
I love how the animation was awkward and stiff up until the reveal, but after everything is super smooth and meticulously worked on from the camera angles, body movement, and even eye movement

You see, Heavensward Paladin could only block physical damage with their shield. It was sort of the "physical tank", with Dark Knight being the "magic tank", and Warrior just being an hp sponge. We didn't get the ability to block magical attacks passively, or with sheltron, until Stormblood launched. If only haurchefant could've made it one more expansion.
The empty liquor bottles on the counter and floor leading to the bed. The dead silence when she wakes up. This is a horrifyingly accurate depiction of PTSD and/or survivor's guilt.
Fun fact: In the Inn room of the The Forgotten Knight, there are bottles already there. I think he did move some but there are a lot there by default. Even on the floor if I remembered correctly. Before I got a player room to place as many bottles as I could to show what an alcoholic my main is. I used that room for it.
What makes it worse for her is she was the healer and was the only one who should be able to do something. learned skills and spells to save everyone and in the end was powerless to do anything That guilt is devastating

Naw. I love G’raha to death but Hauchefant came through and believed in you when you were a literal fugitive. He stopped at nothing to make sure you could become the famed hero you had yet to be. Without him, your story wouldn’t have grown to the point where people made a whole time travel project for Raha to save you. Edmont wouldn’t have written your story to be passed down. Hauchefaunt solidified your path to legendary status.

Good to see I'm not the only ones whos character experiences nightmares of failure. For my WOL they remember reaching out to Edda in the deep croft, reaching out a hand to snatch them from the edge only to miss unwilling finger tips by inches. The smell of burning wedding dress and burning skin, wet eye filling with gladdened despair. Her body plummeting as a blaze to the uncaring rock below like a forsaken comet. All the fanfare deafened as a single life slips through such praised fingers. The great vaunted hero and the broken corpse they stand upon like uneven stones. And the bodies of those all too willing to lay their lives down for them. A single death growing into a parade of corpses, their weight pushing the hero forward less they too fall among the mass.
How does the WoL carry on? Azem sums it up perfectly. “Aye, it’s true. We’ve lost much and more. Known unimaginable suffering. But through it all, we never forgot what we dear to us. And that’s what gives us the strength to carry on.”

Naw. I love G’raha to death but Hauchefant came through and believed in you when you were a literal fugitive. He stopped at nothing to make sure you could become the famed hero you had yet to be. Without him, your story wouldn’t have grown to the point where people made a whole time travel project for Raha to save you. Edmont wouldn’t have written your story to be passed down. Hauchefaunt solidified your path to legendary status.

Good to see I'm not the only ones whos character experiences nightmares of failure. For my WOL they remember reaching out to Edda in the deep croft, reaching out a hand to snatch them from the edge only to miss unwilling finger tips by inches. The smell of burning wedding dress and burning skin, wet eye filling with gladdened despair. Her body plummeting as a blaze to the uncaring rock below like a forsaken comet. All the fanfare deafened as a single life slips through such praised fingers. The great vaunted hero and the broken corpse they stand upon like uneven stones. And the bodies of those all too willing to lay their lives down for them. A single death growing into a parade of corpses, their weight pushing the hero forward less they too fall among the mass.
All of this loss and suffering... all happening in a year 😢
