Great video again tinman. When we had cars in the 80s they had points and the felt pad which wipes the cam, we put a drop of oil on it to reduce wear on cam.
Tinman, really appreciate the content and continue to be surprised how McCulloch was ahead of their time. Cool to see guys like yourself keep em going.
I bet you clean those ring groves where that scoring is and those rings will be nice and free. Its amazing how forgiving some of those small 2 stroke pistons are.
You aught to take pictures of it while you are disassembling it so you know how it goes back together....oh wait! Joking aside, you got a great channel. Here to learn. Keep the content coming.
I have ported a few Macs. I always have to find solutions for missing parts. Its always fun and challenging! I usually end up taking some material from the intake side of the piston to get my intake numbers. Anxious to see what you co.e up with man.
Great lessons. Thanks for your efforts. From a long time, Homelite, Stihl, Husky user(home owner, fuel wood cutter, trail maintainer, stock packer, tree faller, cross cut saw user). Recently rebuilt my 372XPW(2005)and ported a 52mm Hyway top end-amazing change in power. You and Iron Horse are becoming famous. Love your attitude and explanations. Keep it coming!
All right let's get port in that thing polish it up and I mentioned it before Matt Olson his piston guy from Wiseco can make any piston to any specs you want..I did my 661 it's fun now..lol. great video as always brother
Interesting, the Pro Mac 700 has the same port design. I think it's the same saw, just without the anti vibe. On my PM 700 I just lowered the intake port 2-3 milimeters and cleaned up the exhaust port. Chews wood like a mad dog.
Great video Tinman! Buckin will be smiling when he sees you building a hot mac n cheese saw!😂 Can't wait to see how she performs! Keep up the awesome work 👍👍💪 💪😎😁!
Ciao Tinman from Italy! Only a question: can I burn off with a gas torch the cylinder's fins to clean it from pine pitch? Am I hurting the chrome plate with the high temperature of the butane gas? Thanks to you and your videos I'm the only one that ports chain saws in my region here. Love from Italy!
🤣🤣🤣👍🏽👍🏽haha THE curse of the old MAC fever eh loving the content buddy looking forward to the outcome of this saw ,happy NEWYEARS to you buddy tazman gave you a big shout out in his video this morning loving how all the chainsaw community's are supporting each other it's great be safe tinman
I say port it and what about a custom wisco piston to close up the squish get ahold of iron horse he was looking into a source for Mac 10-10 pistons over a year ago
@@jeffreyrubish347 First saw i did was a 346xp Original Edition 45cc, didn't have any problem, it depends on your dexterity and size of fingers, age/arthritis etc

I got a SP 70 that has an airleak. Your vdos of the teardown and repair will be my guidance - thank you

Tinman Motto "WE AIN'T HURTIN NOTHIN" Love it.
Bless you Tinman for producing all your educational videos!!!
If you can find it check out the old 1970 Paul Newman film "Sometimes a Great Notion", about a logging family, decent amount of McCulloch action
I have a VHS of it. 👍
@@jeffreyrubish347 There's a remastered Bluray version, decent quality
Just watched it the other day, right here on UA-cam
@@j.chrisbeck7492 That's good info, thanks! I always forget that some old movies are on here.

the 'felt wiper' purpose is to lube the cam. 'standard motor products' p/n sl-2 'lubricam'. eckler's sell it.

Ugh, points...had one in my O28, luckily an O29 Coil retrofit perfectly. I wonder if they have upgrades for the older Macs? Thx for sharing man👍🏻

Awesome!! Can’t wait!!👍👍
Now I need to buy a 1/4” driver that fits the ratchet in the top of the handle.
I know I saw that too an I was like damn another tool to add to the list
Just in time for lunch.
Haaaa, same here, ironic😂
I recommend dumping the cylinder bolts and replacing them with good quality allen head machine bolts...save you a lot of headaches down the road
Great video definitively following. !! Mac !!
If a fellow bigger than you put those bolts on i hate to meet him in the dark bloody huge but love your videos happy new year friend and family .
Lol happy new year!!
Its so true a lot of stuff is just throw away because it’s made cheep any Moore
Waiting on full wrap handles for homies! 😀

Thanx oldtimer!!
Tinman, I know a guy that has nos cylinders and pistons
Details, please!
Oz never did give nothin to the Tinman , that he didn’t , didn’t already have
Best use for a ball peen hammer,, making gaskets!💪
Scotchbrite is your friend
hey Tinman whats a good saw for a firsttimer port job?
Honestly any piston ported saw that you hava and are willing to grind on.
@@tinmanssaws Tinman, I've heard Ironhorse say small ones are harder to port. So maybe 60cc and up is easier?
I would look at the 200 series husky. Simple to wrench on and plenty of parts. Snag a 61 and turn it into a 272.
@@antitactical My only saw is a Husqvarna 261 I bought new so I'm familiar with the 200's. A 61 would be a good option. Thanks.
