    Have this same exact lift kit. Love it, but I don't do major offroading. I only installed it to get more ground clearance to help when changing oil or going to and from worksites. And the occasional high water issue I run into here in south Louisiana.......

      Nick, I love the lift Kit, it made the Frontie look like a beast. I am a professional Kayak angler and I travel down some back roads to get to some really good fishing spots. I too do not do major off roading but wanted to make sure that I was able to clear medium size obstacles if needed. Please make sure to hang around and subscribe for more fishing adventures and for more truck mods. Up coming will you find how to change the spark plugs and gaskets, moving the roof rack to the camper shell, adding a roof basket and prepping that same basket for more rust protection, adding some more esthetics to the outside and inside of the vehicle. And installing LEDs in tag and fog lights.

    Since doing that, have you noticed any banging in the front end, where the upper control arm bottoms out on the cup for the top of the cup where the strut connects to the frame? Something that pretty common when adding a puck on top of the struts. When doing the lift on my PRO-4X, I thought that I had avoided that issue by using Bilstein 5100s with the ADO Coil Springs. Sadly I didn't avaid the banging issue. So time to upgrade the upper control arms to ones that wont bang against the cup

    • @RisenSonAdventures
      @RisenSonAdventures  2 роки тому +3

      Hey Paul, I have not had any issues with this on my Frontier. I did not replace the front struts and springs or control arms, because everything that I researched stated it was not needed with a 3" lift. With my truck having 100,000 plus miles I did replace the rear shocks and it truly made a difference in the ride. But as far as cupping out and banging I have had no issues. Thanks for stopping buy and please make sure to subscribe to the channel. I have more mods coming and tomorrow starts the 2022 kayak tournament season so there will be some fishing videos coming.

    • @RisenSonAdventures
      @RisenSonAdventures  2 роки тому

      Are you talking about the rear shocks. If so the reason I changed them was the truck had 12000 miles on it and the original shocks. So i went with the rough country because of the lift. The front suspension i did not change and i haven't had any problems. But they weren't that expensive for two was like 100 dollars. It was well worth it for the ride. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to like and subscribe I have more mods to come. With LEDs, tent, roof basket and more.

      Daniel I really enjoy this lift, and yes I used the stock control arms with 32 in Nito ridge grapplers. With Nissan already having the canter effect this lift raises the vehicle and still makes the rear look a little higher. The N3 shocks made a difference in the ride and the number of miles I had on the truck was my factor in purchasing those.

    • @RisenSonAdventures
      @RisenSonAdventures  2 роки тому +2

      You can get the upper control arms but they are not needed. I have not had any bump issues with the stock suspension. But in the future I will probably get the upper control arms with new front shocks and springs. great kit though. Thanks for responding and thanks for helping me grow. I have a cargo basket that Im going to place on the top and a camper shell coming by the 1st of the year. I tournament kayak fish and just enjoy the outdoors. I had a 2015 4x4. Best truck I ever owned. Bought it new. And put an air intake and exhaust on it. It had 112k miles 5 years later in sept 2020 when it was totaled in a car accident. 0 issues. Just basic maintenance. Tires. And a battery. I came to this video because I just bought a 22 frontier and I’m putting this same lift on it ! And may I add that the 4.0 V6 was still running like a dream. Had a lot more left in it. Didn’t have any leaks no oil burning. Nothing. The frontier is highly under-rated truck legit best bang for buck you can get in midsize segment.

      NO213, I have had this truck since 2014 so it's going on 7 yrs. now. I have had no problems with it. Just made sure to do proper Maintenace, as far as the modifications they have been pretty easy. The lift wasn't hard at all and didn't take us long we were just pressed for daylight time due to work. We plan on doing the spark plugs and seals soon and that is not hard but a little time consuming due to you have to remove the manifold to get to the plugs. But over all a great truck and it has done me pretty well. I travel all over the US and tournament fish from a Kayak. So, no complaints here. You don't have to remove the manifold on the D40. I used a swivel & was successful. The only thing was one of the wires separated and had to in order to slide it out to get access to the plug. I was able to finesse it back together and voila! Saves time and headaches!

    Can't see anything great about this video. After doing basically the same type of lift, rear and front this guy is wasting too much time, doing to much removal for the same results.
    Rear blocks can be added with rear tires on ground. Just lift the spring in the front of the axle to allow room for a block to slip in place. Honestly, never seen anyone take this much time to add lift block even if having to drill out the lower bracket bolts.
    Why remove the steering linkage from the lower control arm? You can pull out the coilover assm without and installing it should be ok even with a lift spacer. Removing the spindle from the upper control arm ball joint will allow the lower control arm to drop after the top of the coilover is disconnected from the top bucket.
    Does not appear the UCA was replaced. Is there any coil bucket contact? I know on later model Frontiers over 1.5" spacer...for sure CBC; 1.5" maybe, maybe not, maybe some small grinding of the bucket can fix.
