  • Hi There, You guys may have had difficulties many times to start the engine. You have the engine cranking but no start. One of the common problems is faulty camshaft position sensor. In this video I show you how to test the camshaft position sensor. I Also explain the sensor wiring diagram, I point to each wire, then I show you how to test each single wire on the cam sensor. After testing the wiring, because there is no internal resistance measurement for the cam sensor, I show you how to read the sensor output signal using an oscilloscope and how to diagnose the sensor operation by reading the sensor's waveform.
What is covered in this video:
    - Intake camshaft position sensor location
    - Camshaft position sensor wiring diagram analysis
    - Camshaft position sensor Power supply test
    - Camshaft position sensor Ground Circuit test
    - Camshaft position sensor Signal Circuit test
    - Camshaft position sensor removal & inspection
    - Camshaft sensor output signal (waveform) reading and test using an oscilloscope

05:40 This is called a Bias Voltage, very weak voltage (because of high resistance in series inside the ECU)

Hi there, you have fault codes for both intake and exhaust camshafts. Have you considered checking the engine timing?

Hi my friend. Thanks for watching the video. I have tried mentioning the live data on each relevant video separately. But I will do my best to make a video just for the live data.

Hi my friend. Nothing was wrong with this car, this video is just showing the step by step diagnostic. If there was a fault, I couldn’t start the engine that easily.

Hi my friend. As you might have noticed, there wasn’t actually anything wrong with this cam sensor, I was just explaining how to perform the diagnostics.
