- I made a lot of researches creating a big list of racing games published in the last 30 years and I selected the most popular cars I saw the most and the most iconic ones.
Of course, that's just a personal list. And you? What's yours? :-)

The M3 GTR not being successful in real life? It was so successful that Porsche complained about them and got the GTR banned
I always found it funny that other companies get salty when another company can make a better vehicle than them.
I find it even more funny is that the judges, or whatever, are so daft that they straight up ban a vehicle than ask for a downgrade.
I bet there is something I'm not understanding, but I still don't see why what I said is not possible and that they seem to be completely unreasonable.

That M3 is so boring tho, like what's the deal with everyone liking it. The bodykit is hella ugly and it's just overall an ugly car (in my opinion). The newer M3 was a lot better in terms of looks.
Rebooted because people in general prefer older BMWs than the new ones. That specific M3 was popular because it was a V8 and kit wasn't ugly and its completely functional. That kit is the exact same as the real race cars.
I'm pretty sure the M3 GTR was actually quite successful in ALMS. But they used a racing motor instead of the same engine they put in their road cars, so they changed the rules and BMW decided to withdraw.
the M3 destroyed porsche 911 in those years and won the 24 hours of nurburgring actually they used a m3 gtr in this year race so i don't think the m3 gtr didn't have succes
I think RynoGT4 meant it wasn't successful in terms of popularity in real life racing, he wasn't talking about its competitiveness.
But, of course, that's just my tought. :-)
It didnt have anything to do with the motor, it was a homologation error brought up by porsche after BMW won like 6 races in a row, both cars in first AND second place, aside from that breakdown. It was pretty much because they didnt build enough road cars LIKE it, and that porsche are sore losers when in comes to being bested, ESPECIALLY by BMW and AMG

To me, the most iconic car in gaming was the Vortex from Need For Speed: Underground. The heavily modified Acura Integra Type R with that iconic samurai livery was basically the start of my passion for racing games. It may have been complete garbage performance-wise, but that body kit and livery was just such a mixup of rice and tackiness that it was impossible to not love it.
The Honda/Acura NSX is also iconic to me (2000s version). I grew up playing one of the Tokyo: Xtreme Racer games (can't remember which one), but that car was just so good looking and performing. Once you bought it, you could just beat the game in a few hours, but then again, it was like $10,000,000 to buy, so it wasn't exactly an easily obtainable car. It's just a nice car to drive, even in simulation/simcade racing games.
Cyborg X-4 I didn't care much for the livery but I did remake the car once I finished the game with the best circuit setup ever and it is my favourite NFSU Car ever since...

notdeepee Still annoys me to this day that you couldn't put the decal on your own Integra. You could have the body kit, wheels, windows exactly like it, but not the decal.
Actually, the Integra, when fully tuned, was one of the most OP cars in the game.

@NFS Player not in the beginning, it's part of the story plot, you are met to lose your car to Razor which set you up to grind through the blacklist to get your car (BMW M3 GTR) back.

When it got to number 1, I was a little disappointed because I thought it was something else, but then it started forming and saw the iconic front and I thought “So they did add it, nice”

A very good list, nice to see the first Driver getting some love too. I would’ve added Crown Vic at least as a honorable mention though. Often ignored but it still plays an important part in many games where police is involved.
As I heared the music for 1. the fear of cops in my childhood came back.

Ain't that that the truth. Jkjk I loved messing with the cops, I had no chill when I was a kid. The cops were at my house and I was playing nfsmw in the living room with the TV on max volume in a cop chase. Laughed every time I destroyed one. The cops said they felt really uncomfortable and left because of me. Lol I was a messed up kid. BTW I think I was going for 100,000,000 bounty but stopped at 78,000,000 because it was bedtime.

I watched the whole video but I knew from the beginning without any spoilers that the BMW M3 E46 will take the first spot :D
The intro to Gran Turismo 3 will always be the most spine tingling, hair raising nostalgia trip ever.
The Dodge Viper GTS from Test Drive and the Lamborghini Diablo SV from the PSX NFS were also very memorable.

Fun fact: when Toyota won the 1995 rally championship with its Celica and Carlos Sainz, they were using an extremely tricky and illegal intake that would lift off of the restrictor at high pressure. Meaning that while other cars were stuck at around 300 horsepower, the Toyota was more around 550-600. The FIA were not very amused when they found out.

Sinon 2 petites remarques sur la construction de la vidéo :
1 je ne mettrais pas deux numéros à la suite dans le compteur car ça peut perdre (surtout ici où le spectateur réfléchis en même temps aux prochaines voitures potentielles)
2 je mettrais les mentions honorables avant ou après le top 10, même si je comprends la volonté de créer du suspens avant le top 1 😉

Cars even most popular cars in forza have been iconic from other games such as Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, and Dirt Rally and maybe the only iconic cars in Xbox not from Forza in maybe in Project Gotham like Ferrari Enzo or maybe all Ferrari because Microsoft have a exclusive licensed with the Ferrari

This list is almost complete to me, the only two cars that should be mentioned also is famous Subaru Impreza 555 from few rally games and Red Hawk from Carmageddon :)
