fun fact: the most wanted 2012 was originally going be a sequel to most wanted 2005, but EA being EA, they forced Criterion to create something completely different, making this disappointment of a game we got.
Yeah since most wanted came The next few games like carbon , hot pursuit , underground were amazing but after that it went completely downhill so deep that even till today they couldn't come up
I still enjoyed MW12 a ton, but even a fan like me could see it was clearly not truly finished, there is a lot in the game that just feels really bare and undercooked, like the car hot-swapping feature, which feels like it was added on late in development, and how events are tied to specific cars rather than just letting you do what you want. I think dataminers also found a lot of evidence that points to Criterion wanting to expand the map more than just the airport, but naturally they weren't allowed to thanks to EA, which is the exact same thing that happened with Burnout Paradise.
They should’ve honestly called Project cars 3 Shift 3 since it looks so similar to the shift series. Also I am excited for GRID Legends and I hope that the strong aspects of GRID 2019 carry over to the new game
@@profo8692 you are right I really enjoyed NFS Heat for the most part... I just wish they will abandon that stupid break to drift physics and go back to the fun old school grippy physics that required a lot of precision like in the underground games...
@@profo8692 and then they closed the studio who made it and gave it back to whatever remained of criterion after they ruined that studio and limited it just to do vehicle physics on Battlefield games cuz DICE is too incompetent to do it themselves I guess
Codies getting 2 games on this list, a game in the honourable mentions, and a game they technically own (well, ea does now) on this list too sure says alot about how that company decided to act in recent times.
Also the fact that, even we all know the AI on the Grid games is fucking awesome because it feels very human, in Grid 2019 I had the feeling that the AI was way too slow...even on very hard difficulty you can always pull few seconds of lead very easily...also, even tho I have full damage activated, after 30 hours I haven't had a single mechanical damage yet, despite having crashed millions of times.... As Viperconcept said, a huge waste opportunity of potential...the base is there, the physics are fun as ever, the sounds, the graphics...all is awesome and there already...pity they messed it so badly
I bought GRID 2019 on Steam, and I simply regret it. Lacking race modes, unlike the previous installments like GRID 2 and Autosport, which makes it so repetitive. Why they removed drifting and endurance races that was used in the previous installments?! They were good race modes, and provide more challenge than just two race types, normal racing and time attack. The only thing good in it is the Renault R26 by Alonso (well, because I'm an F1 fan myself).
The only good drift was in grid 2 because the physics stay same all the time. On grid one and autosport was drift mode and shitty drift physics . In grid 2019 u can drift either ,but not on every and each car.
I also bought it recently and tbh yea I agree, but it was a hard bet on whether I choose Yakuza 0, Project Cars 2 or GRID and honestly I just feel stupid for choosing the least enjoyable option
I gave GRID 2019 a try... and it was okay, I guess (mind you, I got the Ultimate edition of the game for about $3.50). By about 5 hours or so, I feel wanting to just finish the game already. Maybe it's just because I set an easier difficulty, but the game doesn't seem to make me feel engaged. But I knew that all you do is just a loop of "get car, race, get money, race, finish discipline..." and so on. Probably that's what made it the weakest entry in the GRID series by far (unless GRID Legends ended up much worse). For a steal, it was decent, but I honestly wanted more.
@@LoongYawLee73 They even removed the practice mode so that I could get used to the track without getting tempted to beat your opponents' times in qualifying.
The first grid was amazing. Le mans, demolisher derby(Great damage system better than in F1 2021 xD) , drifting and many Great tracks. Also creating a team, choosing sponsors and 2 driver.
The gt5 licences and career were the highlight for me, it was pretty good imo. But I must admit, the damage system was quite a joke and some of the sounds of standard cars sounded absolutely terrible, why would a v8 sound like a machine washer.
Tbh the good career is enough for me as well as the car list. The standard cars and the sounds never bothered me but it’s quite literally why I got into cars and even now I create new save games on it and play through because it’s the most fun game I’ve ever played IMO
@@JB22. I think by adding the standard cars, the increased variety of the car list most certainly made the game better. I would rather have 1000 cars than less than 200 like most sim racing games do nowadays. It's just as viperconcept pointed out, they delayed the game for so many years and they gave us cars with these kinds of quality was quite simply dissapointing to most gran turismo fans. The quality of the premium cars was just proof of how good it can be but isn't. But since I only knew of it after it was released so I never cared about that aspect.
Ok so here is the thing about the damage system, it literally was not ment to exist the real damage was done internally (effects how cars turn, engine blowing ,ect.) They even made a choice weather they wanted to sacrifice beauty of the cars or place it in there. Obviously they chose to put damage in. Gt5 was one of my favorite games. Also I understand about the standard and premium cars, the standard cars were the used car but you literally can get that same car in the dealership it just cost more
Another issue with Project Cars 3 is that devs hyped it to death as being an extremely reallistic sim-racing cars, and everybody who played PC2 knew it had several issues, so one expected an awesome game like PC2 but with a better physics, and then we got a not bad at all game, but one that didn't satisfied the hype and expectations by a huuuuuge margin
As someone who loved and played a lot of PC2, I was excited that PC3 will solve the physics issues and be a proper sim. I almost pre-ordered but then the trailer dropped and people noticed weird things like blocked off pits etc. Huge mistake to create an arcade game and sell it as a sequel.
@@MrUwU-dj7js I doubt any game can be more realistic than PC2 in terms of damage, sounds or physics. I was very excited for PC3 but then uh I was half disappointed. I was happy they tried to get it back to the Shift games(even if it's nowhere as good as Shift saga) it's fun to customize and make cars go crazy lol. Tbh it's a fun game, but not a simulative game, I wanted to have the challenging feel of the cars I had in PC2, the full car damage it had, the amazing car tuning ect
@@fanaticofmetal I can list at least 5 games more realistic than PC2 instantly but whatever pc2 is fun but i consider it the most “simcade sim” out there but don’t listen to a nobody like me tbh.
For me there’s also NFS 2015. Very boring game, with limited customization in several cars, boring police chases and weird physics… I don’t regret buying it tho
I do regret buying it. It was supposed to be a modern version of underground (or UG2), and they gave quite some customization options, but the game felt very unfinished for the pc release. It was literally a console port (no mouse pointer on screen, like dude come on) and the night time only just made things badly visible for me. The story is very forced and bland, despite the effort they put in it. And personally, I hate the brake to drift system that they have since NFS HP2010 or perhaps earlier. That gameplay felt even worse than its predecessors.
Forza Motorsport 7 would be my pick in the top 5. The game released in a broken state with lies about the VIP pass system, had a bunch of memory leak issues on PC and at the time contained lootboxes for exclusive cars. The homologation system while a good idea should have been kept for eSports events rather than the entire singleplayer career.
I also had gt5 as my first gt game. Still holds up as my favourite game to play through because of the amazing number of cars and the campaign means that each play through gives a different experience depending on what cars you end up grinding with
If you haven't yet, you owe it to yourselves to play GT2 and GT4. Whether that be original hardware or emulation. GT5 is still a great game and I recommend it above GT6, but 2 and 4 are the two peaks in the series
I really wish Grid 2019 had a lot more real life tracks, rather than the fantasy tracks from games past. That could've given it a lot more in my book. :( oh well
I think Gran Turismo Sport is way more dissapointing after it was released back in 2017, lack of cars, lack of content and always need internet connection.
Gran Turismo 7 will require internet connection for singleplayer content as well. And developers count GT Sport as a mainline game, not a spin-off, which was also the reason why people were disappointed
The most disappointing ones are usually the one which deviate from their genre like PC3 which unexpectedly became sim arcade. If developers want to make a sim arcade racing game that can be more enjoyable by various people, they should just name it with a different name so people will understand it's a different game from the developers of so and so
I think adding GT5 at number 1 was a bit harsh. It had bits that disappointed such as the standard cars (low polygons) and poor sounds (which had been a hallmark of the series), but in most other respects it was very good. By all means add it to the list, but to not have Project Cars 3 at number 1 defies logic.
Codemasters have REALLY ruined their reputation lately, and being acquired by EA will most certainly not help them recover. It's a shame, they used to be such a good team. (I do love Dirt 5 though, it is a ton of fun. I've played through it all twice, but I do agree the physics are too arcadey for my preference, and the damage model is garbage)
I’m still surprised that people find gt5 as disappointing as it is. Literally my favourite racing game ever released. I also liked the standard cars. Not that they were bad quality but the fact that it allowed so many cars to be in the game over 1000 and when you finally get a higher end car it feels incredibly rewarding. My lis of most disappointing racing games are: 1: project cars 3, tried to market itself as still a sim despite clearly not being one and just abused the series’ name. 2: dirt 5, the game literally didn’t have rally in it! Dirt 4 was on the more sim side of simcade imo, despite what some say, but dirt 5 was a completely generic arcade 3:f1 2021, it removed a lot of features from 2020 and despite having improved lighting, the reflections were better on 2018. 4: gran turismo 6, massively cut back campaign and the fact you could buy any car you wanted limited how long you wanted to invest into the game and progress 5: gran turismo sport, despite being a very good game, at launch it was very disappointing to have literally no campaign in the game and after gran turismo 5 being the last game to have a proper campaign it was disappointing
Even though Gran Turismo 5 may be disappointing to some, it will forever be my favorite Gran Turismo in the series. The game was my childhood and I have some many good memories on it. Loved the video anyways because all of your reasoning was backed up with real facts and experience.
What about these ones? - Fast and Furious Cross Roads - Ridge Racer Unbounded (R.I.P Ridge Racer) - Need For Speed Payback - F1 2009 - DiRT Showdown - Need for Speed 2015
I don't know. I never heard anyone complain about the graphics on GT5. In fact, most times I se lists, it's usually considered one of the best in the series.
Dirt 5 is literally a completely different genre to dirt 4. Dirt 4 was simcade but was still on the sim end of that scale. Dirt 5 is completely an arcade game and literally removed rally
My theory as to why F1 2021 doesn’t have historical cars might be because they had to make space for the breaking point story mode that includes the F1 2020 cars.
Yet you can't race them outside of Braking Point, which I still find stupid. Also, I want to put China into my career modes man, I just love to drive that track.
@@CsanadCzToth You can race China in My team, just remove one track like eg. Abu Dhabi and put China in, keep in mind that it only works with 16 or 10 race seasons and not the full 21 races
I don't get why people critiscise the standard cars. It's that or you get a lot less cars, wich is what happened with GT Sport, and the fanbase was STILL complaining it didn't have all the cars of the old games! Even if it isn't that great, more content is always better if it doesen't change the state of the other elements in the game. Engine sounds are the same since GT4 and we should be happy we even got a damage model at all.
I don't get how you can say GT5 was your most disappointing racing game if you said you played it for countless hours, even though I agree with your main points about it(it IS an unfinished game in many areas, and the standard X premium cars debacle was downright bizarre to have in a flagship PS3 game too). I think Project Cars 3 should take the crown here, that game managed to do almost everything wrong. Also, I would put GT Sport somewhere on this list.
Honestly, the 2 most disappointing games in my opinion were: Street Racing: the game: -Horrible car handling -Repetetive -you can own only ONE god damn car -The potential of customization was great but all performance parts did the same thing in terms of stats -Literally, i can make a better game than that in terms of playability NFS Payback: -Way too arcade-ish -Ah yes, just slam 6 pokemon cards in your car to make it go 370 km/h -Easy to finish -Downgraded graphics compared to NFS15 and NFS Rivals Honorable mention: NFS Heat: -Story's even easier to finish than payback's -Horrible daytime music -The game is still poggers in some ways
I still play Driver PL on PC I only say this because you use the loading screen of that game for your intro gameplay was good and it had a great soundtrack.
Is it just me or Forza Horizon 4 kinda deserves to be on the list as well? People got disappointed by the map variety, car sounds, online experience and expansions, and it was pretty much the worst Forza Horizon game to date. Sure, the post-launch support was really good, Forza players tend to return to Horizon 2 or 3 than 4.
I remember Microprose Grand Prix 3 to be one of the first "serious" racing games that didn't live up to its expectations back in 2000... I stuck with GP2 and of course we had Grand Prix Legends by that time :)
Surprised we didn't see Forza Motorsport 5, having less features than 4 etc. Also wanted to say, really loving the content with voice over @viperconcept :)
I know that this doesn't have anything to do with the video but, someone knows the song of that GT5 video? (I do like every racing game despite how well or bad is portrayed to the public, mostly because i've always played arcade-ish games types like NFSC or GRID2, GTPS1, etc. so i don't usually get hyped with new titles, also, i preffer LOT more old games than new ones, even in Dirt Rally i only play the old cars like Group B ones, new cars seems so damn controllable that i'm not pleased at all.)
tbh, gran turismo 5 is by far the worst, i don't understand how people complain that gt6 is bad because it's too similar to gt5, at least its improved, the races in gt5 are repetitive, boring, the prizes aren't worth your time, the rally is absolute garbage, how can you complain about gt6 for at least trying to improve the dumpster fire that was 5?
I feel you on your points on gt5 but despite that i still feel gt5 was the most fun online experience ever. From track, drag racing on special route stage 7 and the best drifting physics in my opinion. Even modern games dont capture that.
I have project cars 2 and the handling fysics dont feal realistik specialy on ice because if the car starts to slide it is verry dificult to recover the cars from a slide to the point it is allmost imposble to do it do you think the same as me?
For me, the most disappointing game of all time was Asphalt 9. Not only was the game just an excuse for a huge money grabber for Gameloft anticipating the huge decline in Mobile Gaming soon to come, but they also keep trying to transfer A8 players to A9 by destroying the game piece by piece, making it more p2w, adding useless and annoying features like more currencies, and don’t even get me started on those card things. Asphalt 8 will always be the most memorable game of my entire childhood.
The only of these I played is Grid 2019; I remember when I saw the announcement trailer for it, and I was very excited, as I had played lots of hours in Grid 2, and knew that the resto of the series was really good. So when Grid 2019 came out, I bought it, played it for the first hours and it was really fun in my opinion, but it started to get repetitive, so I tried multiplayer, but lobbies were basically empty... and then I never touched it again. Don't get me wrong, it does have some very strong points, like immersion, because of great sound design, attention to detail and amazing, human-like AI. What I didn't like other than it being repetitive was the physics, which were ok, but they were pretty unpredictable; like you would spin out for no reason, and you had to feather the throttle way too carefully for a controller. The damage system was great visually, but didn't do almost anything mechanically. I hope Grid Legends ends up better
I don't understand why it's GT5 not GT Sport which is on here. GT5 may have been not exactly what it was hyped up to be, but come on. GT Sport all but removed tuning and has even after years of Sony attempting to fix it, a horrible list of cars and career mode. Don't even mention how bad the sound track is ontop of the lack of classic tracks we all knew and loved. About the only positive things about it are the visuals/sound and the lobby refinement.
I wonder why racing games don’t have an arcade/simulation mode anymore? Gran Turismo started that all the way back when it first came out but I feel like no one has bothered to try that themselves. I think something like that would’ve benefited Dirt 5 a lot. I think overall though, that along with not having actual time attack rally stages killed the fan hype. I still enjoy the game since it’s pretty much like a spiritual Motorstorm game with the people who made it but I can see why longtime fans wouldn’t be enamored by it.
For me multiplayer was the main reason I kept playing GT5 and 6, countless hours of races, car's shows or simulating city driving with "police" Skyline Pacecars :D It was such a good time back then I had my PS3
TBH I really enjoyed NFS 2012 and Gran Turismo 6. Yes, those weren't the BEST racing games ever, but compared to another games which I played (especially GT5), both were really good. And are two of my favs of all time (with Real Racing 3 also) Gran Turismo 5 by far, is one of the most disappointing games I've played EVER (alongside Dead Space 3). Just like DS3, the game was fun, and had some really good features. But the overall experience wasn't that grateful for some reasons. I'm not going to add anything more than what's exposed in the video P.S: there's a mistake in the minute 11:11 .The PS4 didn't even had A MONTH when GT6 released. PS4 was released on November 23, and GT6 December 6. Both on 2013
MW 2012 is a great game no doubt. But the only disappointing thing about it is they use the name "Most Wanted" as we know the original 2005 Most Wanted have cars customisation and the best part of it is the "drama impact" from the storyline. I bet if back in 2012 they didn't use the name "Most Wanted" for it, surely it'll be a legendary tier nfs too because the game is just pure beautiful for the graphics and the gameplay is really enjoyable
@@haluyolo7568 I kinda agree. The only problem with all the disappointment around NFS 2012, is that the original Most Wanted (for me at least) it isn't the big deal. Probably I don't like MW2005 now JUST because I'm older. Because as a kid, I liked this game a lot, more than Gran Turismo 4. The "Fast and Furious" style feels so old-fashioned to me nowdays
@@zacariascisneros6399 yup same. Even for old nfs I now prefer Shift 2 or UG2. Underground 2 definitely have that FnF vibe but I don't go that way, I prefer "downhill touge" looking build and I tune and customise my car that way. I also used to like FnF a lot as a child. But then I stumbled across Initial D, and now I felt like FnF is some kind of "bs" in terms of cars. But other than that I still respect it since it is one of reason bring me into the world of cars and tuning. But when I want to seek for something that's satisfied my knowledge improvement, I will never look FnF the same anymore
I believe you have number 5 and number 1 inverted - After playing Forza and Forza Horizon and especially Gran Turismo (Sport), I tried GRID 2019 and the game is unplayable to me. The physics are so horrid I was not able to complete a race. An instant uninstall for me. Actually, I have had a similar experience with all the Codemasters games, including F1
Although GT5 is considered by much the worse of the series, and I completely agree on how flawed the game is, it holds a soft spot in my heart cause it was my first introduction to the GT series. GT5 made me more into a car person after I got it, I learned so much from it, whether it be tuning, internal parts, upgrades, all the different car brands, the race tracks, etc. For a kid that really didn't have that much knowledge about videogames, GT5 was a whole new world for me. On my first time behind the wheel, my thoughts were "just think of it as a video game, just like GT5" and it was like second nature to me. I remember I wasn't able to complete the 24h races cause the power would go out at a certain time in the afternoon and we had no electricity during that time. Every time I tried could never complete it, would come back from school, PS3 still on, race for a couple of hours then bam power off. Our electric bill rose cause of my doings🙃
10:00Well,it offer much more road cars, tuning and customisation?some fun gamemodes idk. Btw what is the weird "simulator" in PC 1,2 where u can barely drift? Pc3 actually needed another name, but in general the game is pretty decent and even good in some aspects.
I completely did not mind that the gt5 models were graphically transferred from ps2. I prefer these models to look the same as the newly introduced cars but to be in the game. if their physics are well done, I am able to let go of the graphics. It hurt more that there were over 1000 cars in GT5, over 1200 in GT6 and in GT Sport ... 300? 400? not enough . I liked the fact that in gt6 we had a dozen or so versions of the same model. it was great because racing with the same model did not always mean the same result at the finish line.
U cant go bad on any GranTurismo game. Im glad I played all of them and had a lot fun and knowledge about cars. The only thing I wish on the next GT game is the improvement of Car/Engine/Exhaust sounds Some remake of Initial D Drift Tracks and of course some Wangan City tracks out there, like AssettoCorsa doing a good job with their fan mods, but sadly they will never come on the ps4 version of the AC game
@viperconcept Which is more arcady Grid 2 or Grid Autosport? I come from arcade racing . I want to know which is more easier to drive for someone from NFS series. Pls reply
I actually think gt5 damage model was quite impressive for their first try. Other gt games barely have any damage model other than textures. Gt5 had independent body deformation (which is really important imo), panel seperation and textural damage.
The issue with damage is not much on the developers and is the people who they license the cars from sometime have issues with depictions of their cars getting mangled in racing games. They think virtual depictions of their cars getting wrecked to pieces will hurt sales for some reason which is not true.
Gran Turismo 5 was and still is the best in the entire series. I love that game to this day and is the reason I am so into Gran Turismo. NO hate to you Viper, I love your videos and have been enjoying them for more than 4 years. Keep up the good work
I’m surprised you picked GT5 over GT6. I did enjoy both of these titles, but GT6 is basically a repackaged GT5. I do prefer to play GT6 because of the added content, but at the time of the release it was disappointing.
The worst aspect of GT5 weren't the premium/standards cars or graphics, but the excruciatingly long download and installation times for patches, which essentially rendered your PS3 useless and also the TERRIBLE UI, so slow and clunky for even the most basic stuff that it totally drained any wish to play.
although it isn't a proper "racing" game, just because it's for mobile, you forgot about Asphalt 9. Moreover, the fact that the 8th Asphalt became so pay-to-win soon later the release of the new one made both the two games even worse... too bad, Gameloft!
i Loved GT5 idk it just had that gran tusimo feel to it and that was enough for me especially loved the engine modifications but ye the standard cars kinda sucked
I really liked that game. The driving needs some getting used to but it's really great. It has the best photo mode I have ever seen. You can set the time of day, weather and much more. The different kinds of transport give so much freedom and many opportunities. The only reason I stopped playing is how they made the weekly challenges impossible and out of anger I deleted the game xd
I have most of those games - some of which I haven't even opened yet for some reason. I do think GT6 should have been released on PS4, but what we got was certainly not a disappointment to me. It saved me from having to buy a PS4!
Is project cars 3 that bad ? I thought of geting the ultimate edition and i already own Gt7 and pc2, there are some cars i want to try which the other games dont have or is the game that shit and not worth it ?

F1 2020: great game, a good improving on the fisics, schumi cars, new My team feature, a more agressive ai. Ea buys codemaster. F1 2021: same as the 2020 but worst, no classic cars and a shit history mode.
Im sorry but how grid 2019 ai is so good according to you? i just tried it few days ago and its waayy overaggressive, also ai likes to leave no space or just ram you from the side like you dont exist, even in your own footage you can see this for example in 3:29. Idk hard disagree on that one
I wish I could have played Gran Turismo 5 more but I couldn't because of crippling visual bugs. Every time I played, the visuals would cut out for like a second or two. I could still hear the in-game sounds but it was still not a pleasant experience. It was not because of my TV or PS3, I tested with other games and they all worked fine. So I have no idea what was wrong with the game, nor did I care to dig further. I simply stopped playing GT5 and have never played it for nearly 11 years. Also, as an aside, I am quite anxious with GRID Legends coming soon. They very instant I saw the trailer, my immediate thought was, "So that's where all those missing cars from past GRIDs went."
I love NFS MW’12 (my first NFS game) but I do understand the hate but it’s too hated, GT5 is some of my nostalgic favourites yet and my second GT game along with GT6 my favourite of the ps3 GT games but so many games are diamonds in the rough
Yeah, I remember, my friend and me sitting in the living room and playing grid on the PS4. Once we found out about the damage system we didn't race but drove the car into the barrier so we can see how it looks and I have to say it wasn't realistic but very satisfying
Small correction: Gran Turismo 5 is a 7th generation game, not 8th. The 8th generation of consoles was the PS4 and Xbox One. We are currently in the 9th generation.

Why they removed drifting and endurance races that was used in the previous installments?! They were good race modes, and provide more challenge than just two race types, normal racing and time attack.
GT5's damage system is so fun to fuck around with in hindsight. Love seeing the roof cave in on itself.
Or like a digital trumpet (talking about the sound of the Audi Pikes Peak concept)!! 😜
They never said that project cars 3 was gonna be a simulator..
@@emiliojavier8268 In early develpment stages (faaar before the trailer) they said on Twitter it was going to be more realistic than PC2
You forgot permanent internet connection.
@@DeiKuromu Yeahh how could I forget this?
I do regret buying it. It was supposed to be a modern version of underground (or UG2), and they gave quite some customization options, but the game felt very unfinished for the pc release. It was literally a console port (no mouse pointer on screen, like dude come on) and the night time only just made things badly visible for me. The story is very forced and bland, despite the effort they put in it. And personally, I hate the brake to drift system that they have since NFS HP2010 or perhaps earlier. That gameplay felt even worse than its predecessors.
I despise that game. The story was not only cheesy but the cutscenes were incredibly annoying and don't even get me started on physics
i somehow prefer it over the 2 reboot games (payback,Heat) simply it was more complete. physics is just as ass tho and the online only requirement
And overall FM7 looks very very lazy-maded game after really cool FM6 and its DLC.
ua-cam.com/video/YtnxCE3KXYk/v-deo.html just compare this
I still remember the see-through A pillar on the racing truck in one of the intro races
And I'm over here with my first Gran Turismo game I ever played being GT5.
Man talking about which gt game they started out most being 5 or earlier makes me feel weird starting on gt 6
Meanwhile I feel old for starting with 2
I really wish Grid 2019 had a lot more real life tracks, rather than the fantasy tracks from games past. That could've given it a lot more in my book. :( oh well
the progression and types of events are what killed it and made it boring, it wasn't like the first GRID
@@KP-48-007 I hear ya. Sadly, nothing will be like the first Grid. :( That game was a near masterpiece 👌

I think Gran Turismo Sport is way more dissapointing after it was released back in 2017, lack of cars, lack of content and always need internet connection.
Gran Turismo Sport is a spin-off series.Of course the content is not as many like the main series of GT
@@abenas40 Spin off or not, but but having tons of cars and tracks is the most alluring things about GTs.
Gran Turismo 7 will require internet connection for singleplayer content as well.
And developers count GT Sport as a mainline game, not a spin-off, which was also the reason why people were disappointed
@@matiblaster8923 And people are saying GT7 will be the best racing game yet…
GT7 could be dissapointing too ,the online only thing baffles me
The most disappointing ones are usually the one which deviate from their genre like PC3 which unexpectedly became sim arcade. If developers want to make a sim arcade racing game that can be more enjoyable by various people, they should just name it with a different name so people will understand it's a different game from the developers of so and so
I strongly agree. Not only that, but if developers want to make a more arcade style game in the future they should at least HAVE PIT STOPS!!
Project cars: checkered flag
I think adding GT5 at number 1 was a bit harsh. It had bits that disappointed such as the standard cars (low polygons) and poor sounds (which had been a hallmark of the series), but in most other respects it was very good. By all means add it to the list, but to not have Project Cars 3 at number 1 defies logic.
Damage system was bad and the game also crash a lot(It crash when you race)
@@luuduonghy659 nope i almost never crashes

Codemasters have REALLY ruined their reputation lately, and being acquired by EA will most certainly not help them recover. It's a shame, they used to be such a good team.
(I do love Dirt 5 though, it is a ton of fun. I've played through it all twice, but I do agree the physics are too arcadey for my preference, and the damage model is garbage)
Whether you like Gran Turismo 5 or not, you have to admit, that E3 trailer SLAPS
My lis of most disappointing racing games are:
1: project cars 3, tried to market itself as still a sim despite clearly not being one and just abused the series’ name.
2: dirt 5, the game literally didn’t have rally in it! Dirt 4 was on the more sim side of simcade imo, despite what some say, but dirt 5 was a completely generic arcade
3:f1 2021, it removed a lot of features from 2020 and despite having improved lighting, the reflections were better on 2018.
4: gran turismo 6, massively cut back campaign and the fact you could buy any car you wanted limited how long you wanted to invest into the game and progress
5: gran turismo sport, despite being a very good game, at launch it was very disappointing to have literally no campaign in the game and after gran turismo 5 being the last game to have a proper campaign it was disappointing
maybe you will add GT7 because of the internet connection
Even though Gran Turismo 5 may be disappointing to some, it will forever be my favorite Gran Turismo in the series. The game was my childhood and I have some many good memories on it. Loved the video anyways because all of your reasoning was backed up with real facts and experience.
3 out of 5 is Codemasters(4 if you count honorable mentions)
that just shows you how much they have fallen in recent years
@@Blueflag04 just because of F1 games. Above that they make amazing games
That's what happens when you make a lot of racing games. You have more candidates for a list like this.
What about these ones?
- Fast and Furious Cross Roads
- Ridge Racer Unbounded (R.I.P Ridge Racer)
- Need For Speed Payback
- F1 2009
- DiRT Showdown
- Need for Speed 2015
I don't know. I never heard anyone complain about the graphics on GT5. In fact, most times I se lists, it's usually considered one of the best in the series.
Project cars 3 is worst than 2,
dirt 5 is worst than 4 lol
Starting to see a decline in quality when the numbers go up, huh.
Dirt 5 is literally a completely different genre to dirt 4. Dirt 4 was simcade but was still on the sim end of that scale. Dirt 5 is completely an arcade game and literally removed rally
Dirt 3 was the last good one
@@JB22. dirt 4 wasn't a simcade at all, it was arcade too
My theory as to why F1 2021 doesn’t have historical cars might be because they had to make space for the breaking point story mode that includes the F1 2020 cars.
These classic cars could be flashbacks from Casper Ackerman
Yet you can't race them outside of Braking Point, which I still find stupid. Also, I want to put China into my career modes man, I just love to drive that track.
@@CsanadCzToth You can race China in My team, just remove one track like eg. Abu Dhabi and put China in, keep in mind that it only works with 16 or 10 race seasons and not the full 21 races
4:48 DiRT 5 is also bad because they removed rally mode.
still in 360P? I guess I'll wait a couple of minutes while UA-cam decided to upload it on 1080p.
GT6 correction, it was released *after* the PS4
Honestly, the 2 most disappointing games in my opinion were:
Street Racing: the game:
-Horrible car handling
-Repetetive
-you can own only ONE god damn car
-The potential of customization was great but all performance parts did the same thing in terms of stats
-Literally, i can make a better game than that in terms of playability
NFS Payback:
-Way too arcade-ish
-Ah yes, just slam 6 pokemon cards in your car to make it go 370 km/h
-Easy to finish
-Downgraded graphics compared to NFS15 and NFS Rivals
Honorable mention:
NFS Heat:
-Story's even easier to finish than payback's
-Horrible daytime music
-The game is still poggers in some ways
payback was still fun cos the storyline was cheesy lol , the graphics in payback werent as realistic as 2015 but i still , loved payback
Wdym a game sucks because too arcade? Nah you just want to hate, I had a lot of fun with Payback, only lack is multiplayer
I still play Driver PL on PC I only say this because you use the loading screen of that game for your intro gameplay was good and it had a great soundtrack.
Aside from GT5 being a HD reskin of GT4, it still is a great game. The soundtrack carried the game.
I agree abt GT6 but the only reason for GT5 was the wait time. The game was outstanding for its time
Is it just me or Forza Horizon 4 kinda deserves to be on the list as well? People got disappointed by the map variety, car sounds, online experience and expansions, and it was pretty much the worst Forza Horizon game to date. Sure, the post-launch support was really good, Forza players tend to return to Horizon 2 or 3 than 4.
I remember Microprose Grand Prix 3 to be one of the first "serious" racing games that didn't live up to its expectations back in 2000... I stuck with GP2 and of course we had Grand Prix Legends by that time :)
grand prix 1 from 1991 season i played countless hours. i miss it so much!
I got introduced to sim racing with that game
Also yesterday i found my old box with gp3 and gp4 still there
Surprised we didn't see Forza Motorsport 5, having less features than 4 etc. Also wanted to say, really loving the content with voice over @viperconcept :)
Not only less than 4, but also less than OG Forza or any other Forza game.
Yep, FM5 should be on this list
I know that this doesn't have anything to do with the video but, someone knows the song of that GT5 video?
(I do like every racing game despite how well or bad is portrayed to the public, mostly because i've always played arcade-ish games types like NFSC or GRID2, GTPS1, etc. so i don't usually get hyped with new titles, also, i preffer LOT more old games than new ones, even in Dirt Rally i only play the old cars like Group B ones, new cars seems so damn controllable that i'm not pleased at all.)

Where does the soundeffect from "position 5" come from? That sound sounds stupidly familiar to me. Is it from Spyro?
Bingo! 😁

I feel you on your points on gt5 but despite that i still feel gt5 was the most fun online experience ever. From track, drag racing on special route stage 7 and the best drifting physics in my opinion. Even modern games dont capture that.

Gran Turismo 5 is still the game we love despite all the problems.
Grid 1 & 2 are some of the most fun racing games out there
@@I_Hate_UA-cam_Handles I love the immersion of these games

Liked as soon as Gran Turismo 5 was declared exactly what it is. Believe or not, in my opinion GT6 is vastly better than GT5
GT5?! NO way wtf! But well, I respect opinions, I found your channel thanks to to those GT5 championships you organised
TBH I really enjoyed NFS 2012 and Gran Turismo 6.
Yes, those weren't the BEST racing games ever, but compared to another games which I played (especially GT5), both were really good.
And are two of my favs of all time (with Real Racing 3 also)
Gran Turismo 5 by far, is one of the most disappointing games I've played EVER (alongside Dead Space 3).
Just like DS3, the game was fun, and had some really good features. But the overall experience wasn't that grateful for some reasons.
I'm not going to add anything more than what's exposed in the video
P.S: there's a mistake in the minute 11:11 .The PS4 didn't even had A MONTH when GT6 released.

The "Fast and Furious" style feels so old-fashioned to me nowdays
@@zacariascisneros6399 yup same. Even for old nfs I now prefer Shift 2 or UG2. Only thing that's better about GT5 is the inclusion of proper endurance races.
GT5 got the biggest amount of cars of all the franchise (more than 1200)
Personal opinion but GT5 should have been an honorable mention and GT6 as number 1

My guess is number 1 is Forza 5, followed by GT5

The worst aspect of GT5 weren't the premium/standards cars or graphics, but the excruciatingly long download and installation times for patches, which essentially rendered your PS3 useless and also the TERRIBLE UI, so slow and clunky for even the most basic stuff that it totally drained any wish to play.

Started with gt3 and stopped at gt5, gt5 was a really good game imo it was a lot of fun and I did everything in this game got all cars completed all races it was just a grinders dream
F1 2020: great game, a good improving on the fisics, schumi cars, new My team feature, a more agressive ai. Ea buys codemaster. F1 2021: same as the 2020 but worst, no classic cars and a shit history mode.
Let's not forget about the endless loading that Gran Turismo 5 had, despite the fact that you could install the game on the Hard Disk
Dirt 5 literally reminds me of Gravel ,another rally arcade game
Dear Viperconcept, do you mind to try Ride 4?
ViperConcept: plays Grid 2019, Dirt 5, V-Rally, Project Cars 3, and Gran Turismo 5.
UA-cam: Ah yes, Forza Motorsport 6
yeah i was about to say that lmao
