i agree man, i don't usually get unsettled by movies, but this was a really clever and scary film, this music in that scene in particular were a perfect compliment
I was in 8th grade when this came out, I think that scene when she’s just standing in the kitchen and then the killer slowly comes into frame was the last time a movie gave me a childlike sense of fear. Lol love this movie it’s super underrated.
I don't know why, but this movie creeped me the fuck out. I usually don't get that way with these cheesy horror movies but this one had an extra element of weirdness to it. The soundtrack for one, stood out for me.
It was a underrated horror movie. It felt like something that could really happen a bad home invasion m. It puts those tired 80's horror movies with the never dying jasons, and Michael meyers to shame. I thought it was a great idea for a horror movie. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I mean sometimes there are psychopaths that just want to kill. That's the reality of it. This is 1 of the best top 5 horror movies for me.
It was the simplicity and intimacy (not sex) that made me and many others know and invest in the characters and understand their plight. It was scary, plain and simple.
+Angie Bernecker the ending kills it for me. I think the image of Liv Tyler's character being dragged off screaming was an unsettling enough image. We don't need to see them be stabbed in the morning, it's already heavily implied they would be killed. Most of the film was going for a "less is more" approach, so not sure why that didn't extend to the ending. The Blair Witch Project and [REC] will ALWAYS be king for me.
Who knew Joanna Newsom was such an incredible actor as well… She’s amazing in Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, Inherent Vice… With Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, plus our Ms. Newsom as Sortilège, a hippie-esque, deep thinking, cool kitten that could definitely pass as the person that writes her real-life songs; It’s almost as if she’s playing herself, had she been that age in 1970. Oh, and uh.. Great song, great movie.
Despite the soft hearted melody behind this song, there exists a darker half - The dark side of the moon, if you will - Where I can't help but imagine the cruelty and hatred behind a monster being driven by the mere calm melody. In a sense, this song can be both a symbolism of grace, and the very fabric of a fractured and otherwise violent mind.
The movie was inspired by some incidents but it did not depict real murders. "The Strangers" was linked to the Manson murders, the Keddie Murders, the Hoyt family murders but the scriptwriter did not use an actual single story to write "The Strangers."
This song is beautiful! I love her voice, and the harp complements her so well, its so sweet. The strangers though... That's a creepy movie, but oh well.
beautifully haunting is the perfect way to describe this song. however, this song matched that scene in The Strangers in every way possible. "should we go outside?" creepy as hell
Quenton foulke speaking of metal, do you know the song that (i think) was used in a trailer for this movie? cant find it. very heavy metal song. super scary. pls help edit: or maybe the song played during the movie for a short bit.. its been awhile since I've seen it
@@swayinthestu when I heard the song play in The Strangers Chapter 1 I felt like it was 2008 when I was a 26 year old watching The Strangers for the first time. Good times!
the song's creep factor comes in lyrically fitting perfectly with the situation. She's alone, and at like 3am theres heavy Pounding on the door, right when the then you hear "should we go outside..."
I’m 16 years old and I’ve always liked horror movies. They never seemed to phase me, but this movie truly frightened me. I don’t know why but it gave me a deep sense of disturbance, depression, and cringe. Just knowing that an innocent heartbroken couple was already going through such sad events, only to be targeted and murdered brutally made me very very sad. I couldn’t finish the movie because I was too afraid to see what would happen next.
i know this comment was made a year ago, but thank you for coming up with the words to describe how i also feel when i listen to this song(: i could never explain it, but you have describe that EXACT feeling... thank you(:
I heard this quite a while before it was on the movie (no hipster intended, I have a point here hold on). It was on itunes when I randomly typed in "bean" so when I heard this on the movie it blew my mind I thought it was a pretty unknown song. Made me happy.
I love this song so much. But as to the movie... this was actually the first movie I ever saw that actually "scared" me. All horror movies I had seen up to that point were entertaining, slashers and ghost flicks .. but they were never really "scary" per se. Not even the exorcist. Idk this was the first one I genuinely felt unnerved by at the very least. Still love it to this day.
I don't think the movie was able to take away the beauty of this song, at least to me. This still sounds like a wonderfully light and lovely song. It didn't become one of those innocent songs gone sour by a scary movie =) Then again, it does conjure up some creepy images from the movie lol
song is really deep actually. apart from the movie aspect it's about a woman who is controlled by a man ( her seen as a lesser person) told to be a certain way and wants to be her own person and live the way she would LOVE to live, and if she should because it's all she knows. once I really listened it was pretty sad...
It's actually about the burden of existence ("I slept all day. I woke with distaste") and attempting to find solace in the irony and absurdity of it all. But realizing those ironies and "funny things" are part of the reason things are so hard. It's about trying to carry on in an insane world ("should we go outside?".
Wow You Would Be like I would Never Listen To Anything like this Now you Find This On your playlist And is listening to it everyday lol thumbs up if you agree
@x0ticShwty This song plays during a scene in the movie where Liv Tyler's character is alone in the house with the fireplace and the lamps on and decides to put the record with the song on.
Hey. I'm going to see if Tamura's home. She's a friend. Any of you guys seen her or know where she is? I may also need two 'friends' just in case we encounter any unsavoury home-owners. Times? 4 in the morning okay with you guys?
to the people who have read the Secret Life of Bees, this is considered my Wailing Wall.. i always come here and listen to this song when im upset or need to free my mind (:
fuck home invasion also happened to me years ago when my parents go on a month vacation i was home alone and around 9pm in the evening suddenly a guy just enter our gate and almost enter our house looking for someone i don't know luckily he just left for good and probably doing some spy in our house looking if something he can stole inside. now we always locked the gate and dont trust any stranger enter our home. its a fucking scary events in my life
ya i dont know what the story is tho. i love this movie too, they used shadows really well in this movie. i hope the second one is just like it if not better.
@billy29211 its not creepy in any way, you put any sweet song in front of disturbong or freaky images, it'll be creepy, except for this, its so un-creepy
when the song says "should we go outside" as the girl's about to answer the door lol genius this movie is genius
i agree man, i don't usually get unsettled by movies, but this was a really clever and scary film, this music in that scene in particular were a perfect compliment
I agree...best horror movie ever....simply genius
Thomas Ladders omg agree. I get goosebumps
@Janay Ramos 💀💀💀

What makes it even worse is he just STANDS there like he wishes she would see him.
2008 I feel I was the same age 😁 lake Elsinore CA 13 or 14
always found this song to be beautiful but this movie completely changed the setting of the song in such a genius way
I don't know why, but this movie creeped me the fuck out. I usually don't get that way with these cheesy horror movies but this one had an extra element of weirdness to it. The soundtrack for one, stood out for me.
Its because its more terror than horror. Shit could really happen =O soo good though lol
It was based on a true story^
It was a underrated horror movie. It felt like something that could really happen a bad home invasion m. The Blair Witch Project and [REC] will ALWAYS be king for me.
Simplicity is what I miss. No ads, no stupid people, no unnecessary additions. Just beauty
Playing this song late at night by myself, has creeped me out lol
Cassie De Young I love playing it at night and it's a bit creepy considering that I have several porcelain dolls around the house.
😅 hell na!
It creeped me out when I heard it in the movie too. Weird song.
I get chills listening to this!! ITS AMAZING
Sometimes movies put you onto good songs and The Strangers is one of them
This song reminds me of being murdered by strangers though 😂
Absolutely
So many good songs I found from horror movies
👍
To me this song is kinda peaceful
I'm happy that new Strangers movies are coming but this one was the best for sure!! 💯
Thank you, Bryan Bertino.
This movie is true horror. I love the sound track too. They go perfectly together

Oh, and uh.. Great song, great movie.
Really a Masterpiece. Millions thanks to them who made this Masterpiece and gave it to us 👏👏👏
Joanna Newsom Aka the best lyricist of all time
This is one movie that still scares me and made me fear being alone at night.
every time I watch it it still gives me the chills today

I heard this song return in chapter 1 it was quite nice to hear it return again
This song always stood out to me in this movie, not just the way it sounds but the lyrics with it.. also, it reminds me so much of Coraline
Creepy song with a creepy voice: perfect for this well-made and genuinely scary film.
That's a creepy movie, but oh well.
i just finished watching strangers, and when i heard this song i was like how long has this beautiful song been out
Thanks so much for posting.I've been looking for this online for some time now.
beautifully haunting is the perfect way to describe this song. however, this song matched that scene in The Strangers in every way possible. "should we go outside?" creepy as hell
So crazy how they use this soundtrack in the remake!! 2024 🔥🔥
its something bout this sound i like soooo much & this not even my type of music but i can smoke a blunt to this its relaxing
I know right im usually a metal head but i enjoy this
Quenton foulke speaking of metal, do you know the song that (i think) was used in a trailer for this movie? cant find it. very heavy metal song. super scary. pls help

It's back in The Strangers Chapter 1.
it was such a nice surprise hearing the song be played again
i feel like this movie played almost like a remake of the first one
@@swayinthestu when I heard the song play in The Strangers Chapter 1 I felt like it was 2008 when I was a 26 year old watching The Strangers for the first time. Good times!
see myself walking through a forest with this song playing, not giving a damn about the world.
the song's creep factor comes in lyrically fitting perfectly with the situation. She's alone, and at like 3am theres heavy Pounding on the door, right when the then you hear "should we go outside..."
I dont know why be the melody of this song is so beautiful but it depresses me in a way when I hear it The Strangers was A good movie

Best moment of the movie
They need to hurry up and make a Strangers 2!!!
Yes I agree i'm worried that it might not happen if it takes too long to make.
they need new victims though
***** As much as I don't want to say it, I think were all out of luck :/ blehh
The plot of the second one seems to be better than the first one. I really hope we find more information about the Strangers.
+brentbr00tal.... it's already been made... coming out December 2 of this year.!!
i know this comment was made a year ago, but thank you for coming up with the words to describe how i also feel when i listen to this song(: i could never explain it, but you have describe that EXACT feeling... thank you(:

"Should we go outside?" That part scares the shit out of me.
The movie and this song got under my skin and I can't get rid of it.
Surprisingly the song on it’s own it’s incredibly beautiful, but it fit so well in the movie
this is my all time favorite movie, and this is also my favorite track from it. cx
This song seems so pure by itself. But when it’s used while showing the killers, it makes my skin crawl! 😨
I love this song so much. But as to the movie... this was actually the first movie I ever saw that actually "scared" me. How Can This Song Be On A Horror Movie?? Its Sooo Good!!
"Hello?" ... "Is Tamara home?"
Still slapping
but that Keddie story is pretty fucked up though
the mask man look like the zodiac killer are they related?
King Empoleon He’s called The Man In The Mask
For you maybe. For me her voice makes the song.
ya i dont know what the story is tho.
i love this movie too, they used shadows really well in this movie. i hope the second one is just like it if not better.
@MarkBoyehh That has to be one of most scariest scenes of the movie because even though nothing happens, you can sense someone is outside the house.
it's because it's so good! they had to have it!
I LOVE THE WEIRDO
No, you should not go outside!👻
My cousin kept laughing because of how she sang
ohh i gotcha. thanks!
I love this movie but it’s freaking creepy I watch it at night once I regret it watching at night I locked the door ever since lol
at 1:46, i know the car is set on fire in the movie, but i don't remember seeing pin-up girl and MITM. anyone know what time/scene in the movie it is?
I am being the man in the mask at a haunt on Friday
Should I play this song in the corn maze or is it not scary enough?
This movie was freaky as shit!!! 🤟
@billy29211 its not creepy in any way, you put any sweet song in front of disturbong or freaky images, it'll be creepy, except for this, its so un-creepy
Something about this song I love this song. Idky just do
@MrMark374 No, that's "quicksilver girl". I don't know the real name of the song.
part two is coming out or going into production this year.
