This movie reminds me of Donnie Darko. There is really something there. Powerful story and message. Real inspiration. But you just can't quite understand it or put your finger on it.

Bjork still puts 110% of herself into her songs even being hugely successful and a multi-millionaire she still has that hunger and drive that allot of bands and artists lose as they become huge. It's easy to do, to sell out, to lose the drive and just make mediocre music because you have nothing to prove anymore or just because one has to which is even worse. I admire her for staying grounded I admire any musician that stays grounded and still gives they're all no matter what.

I’m so glad others love Sucker Punch as much as I do. When it came out and even now in 2024 the majority of people I come across irl are like “that movie sucked and I didn’t get it.” And I’m like “because you’re basic brain and don’t know how to dive deeper than what you’re spoon fed”

I think this was a great movie, really cool that a third of it was in her mind as she danced.
She's the one saying to nut up on it or get off the shitter. It takes some high moral fibers with stick-to-it-iveness and she Baby Doll has that mess ozing out every pore on her well toned body that's making the magic happen. Plus some elbow grease or self-sacrifice sprinkled all over that ooze substance..if I only had a sample for my research chronicles and notes. Only cause Chung would appreciate the enterprise, we're both scientifically amazing to behold & my inane conspiracy theories of the shape of underlying attractiveness levels & ratings of hottest to smoking to burning up yo! I'll be busy for a while. I must gather more pictures of the noble actresses who save lives everywhere. If only we had more.

Yeah, I very much enjoyed that - both musically and visually. Regarding the former, there's possible echoes of Placebo's Pure Morning and the spirit of DM's Violator running through it.
Whilst visually, a lot of DC/Marvel output that had not seen light of day had been given a Bjorkian twist. That's no mean feat.
Plus, the ongoing reverse chronology keeps you on your toes as it's very much a metaphor for strategic thinking and feminine/human resourcefulness - within the real life trials of modern, competitive life.
All in all, definitely one that will stick favourably in the memory, not stick in the throat. Organically electronic, sure made my ears figuratively sit up and take notice. That's a 9 in my book.

Notice how when Baby Doll dissociates for the first time, she turns into Sweet Pea. We never see any of the other girls in her first-tier dissociation outside in the real world. They're all Baby Doll's alters, and the only personality who is allowed to re-enter mainstream society is the character of Sweet Pea. We're just TOLD that another mental patient escaped because of Baby Doll's distraction. But in the first-tier illusion, we are told that Sweet Pea is not a mental wreck like her sister and the other girls, and had no problem getting along with her (let's assume abusive) parents the way her "sister" did.
They're All Baby Doll's fractured psyche, and the only one who survives the whole episode is the same one who had "no problems" with her handlers. Basically, Sweet Pea survived because she's the aspect of Baby Doll's psyche who was most suited for the harsh realities of the real world because she was not intrinsically rebellious and simply along for the ride. The programmers ONLY allowed her to "escape" because she was most obedient and mundane-flavored of the broken heroine. In truth, the level of reality we are led to believe is true (the mental institution, the abuse step-dad and the lobotomy threat) is probably itself a dissociative realm because it's an extremely sugar-coated version of MK-ULTRA victimhood. The story has no three, but FOUR levels of reality.
We honestly never see the truth about what happens to "Baby Doll" because the harsh realities of MK-ULTRA and trauma-based mind control are hidden from the public. Hidden in plain sight yes, but hidden very well within the masses' own dissociation from the harsh reality of living in a world where this batshit ape crazy barbarism is allowed to happen. Society has never put a stop to it. Society has even acknowledged its existence. Because we left ourselves vulnerable to this sort of horseshit, the fucking Illuminati are free to take all the cheap shots at us that they like. This is the TRUE meaning behind "Sucker Punch".
Thank you brother/sister , we will not be standing for this corruption any longer , the matrix has been dying desperately , the Time for the Final Act is for Us to Commence. We will not tolerate these demented oppressions ever-again.

This movie is this 'experiment' that went BERY BERY well. I mean. There are so many advanced ideas about fantasy/reality, here, in the world of katana AND fantasy katana. Only if you love a katana, and you don't care about what experts might think, would you go all out with a baby doll blonde, wielding one. It works better than any samurai movie, on the 'fantasy' level. Visually, it works even better. The Emily Browning character is seriously compelling in the action scenes. Before 'Sucker Punch,' the coolest katana movies, I had seen, were old 'Zatouichi' and 'Lone Wolf and Cub.' Blind swordsman AND the Emperor's executioner on the run, with his cute little tot. Two cannot miss ideas for a series of films. BUT. This is even better. Someone has to nurture this idea and bring Miss Browning back. A little hair color. She basically looks the same, 10 years later. I just checked. She could fight her way back from the 'raw deal' she got, at the end of 'Sucker Punch,' and become a superhero. We NEED to see this fantasy archetype. Music really helped a LOT, too. This song is just incredible, along with the visuals of this movie.
