How about “I’ve Been Everywhere “? Or “One Piece At A Time?” Maybe “The Ultimate Country Song” by David Allen Coe (aka “You Didn’t Even Call Me By My Name”)😬
Great song, great lesson and superb singing, and your counting helped me a lot to play the constant rhythm - with strumming as well as with alternate pick&strum. Thanks a lot Erich!
Hi buddy. What a great lesson for us dummies that can't read music :) I picked the song up with no issue thanks to you! I am a US contractor working in Djibouti Africa for the US Navy and playing my Martin has become my passion and my only form of entertainment. When I make I good dub I will send it to you so you can hear what you made happen for me. Thank you so darn much!!!!!
You are so welcome Buster. First of all may God keep you safe and come home soon. Glad to hear you are enjoying your music and have a passion. After all these years, I still get a rush when I play. Stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. In the meantime, keep rockin! e :)

Thank you my friend. Please, check the website for free tips & techniques: Unstoppable Guitar System. Let me know what you think. I appreciate hearing from you & your opinion! And please, follow me on FB & Twitter! e :)
Thanks for the lesson. It helps to add a fake western accent and say 'I'm Johnny Cash....." like you mean it. Of course, you did that and I'm totally gonna steal that in my intro.
Thank you Steve. I appreciate the kind comment.Check the website for free tips & techniques: Unstoppable Guitar System. Let me know what you think. I appreciate hearing from you & your opinion! And please, follow me on FB & Twitter! e :)
I don't know why you said that sucked. You have a really good singing voice. You should have sung the whole song, I would have loved to hear that. I know fuck all about guitars and I have abandoned all hope of ever learning to play. It's way too complicated. But something about this video was just so endearing that I'm now toying with the idea of perhaps picking up a guitar again....damn you!
Thanks! I'm french, so I usually hardly understand english video lessons but you do explain very well. I have one request: Could you, please, record a video lesson for Roger Miller's "(Lucky Luke) Rides again", theme from the TV show starring Terence Hill. That'd be great!
Great lesson only started learning 1month ago and can follow this pretty well. Thanks Could you do kenny Rodgers the gambler and dougie maclean caledonia please
Erich, You are about the 6 th guitar teacher, and the first that makes sense to me. You see, I just bought my first guitar, but something that I have wanted to do for some time..? How do I get ALL of your lessons in one shot? I look forward to being with you as my teacher. I have a couple of physical issues though. I lost the very tip of my pointer finger in an accident,I am looking for some kind of a prosthetic finger to help me. I have discovered after some work that a thumb pick works for me,I am able to strume up and down well enough. Again Thank you fore your valuable time, Regards from Steven @ The Eagles Nest PS I live in BC Canada, the land of the legal weed
Awesome lesson man! I learned the whole song in about 10-15 minutes, as the others Said, you should've sung the song, because your voice is VERY is kinda like Johnnys! Keep it up!!
I Love this song and You teach so well and your a teaching stlye That aboustley love . Your voice is easy to listen and love That you Have Such a passion about others playing Guitar and that you main aim is see other succeed. You do it with so much Joy and love which is something that is Rare to see. You so excited to be playing and teach guitar which just Totally amazing :)
I do a LOT of Johnny Cash songs myself. Been told I sing like Johnny and play like Luther Perkins. Great job. I was looking to see if you did the instrumental part of the song...
My sister and I are learning to play the guitar. My step-father doesn't think my sister will stay in and that I am not interested. She's got the book. He was play the 1st part of the solo on his last night. This was really helpful because we learned part of the solo but not the rest. We have 2 guitars and once we master it we're going to play it for him.
Thank you so much dan nag. Appreciate the kind comment. Will put your request on a list. Please stay in touch. I appreciate your comments & opinions. e :)
I was watching Johnny Cash on UA-cam playing live: Looks like he has capo on 5th fret. And he's playing Em and G Thus Am C ? I know Bbm is the accepted key. Any thoughts?
I have one question. Johnny Cash usually put the capo on the first fret to avoid the dreaded F chord..or as you refer the f'ing F chord. Haha. Anyways, I like the barre chord version, but was Johnnys original intention to use an E chord like he always did. He really hated the F chord it seems.
Great video, I am trying to teach my 15 year old son how to play the guitar, so I need all the reference tools I can get including your free ebook, which I just got thanks :).
I know I'm gonna seem like a beginner but I am I'm taking a class in high school are you strumming all the strings or just like strings 123as if 1 one an E
Yes, I explain that in some other videos. I also explained it in my free e-book that you can find at www.YourGuitarSage.com. I also have a free video series there that will help out with this.

Slow the time down and try to keep the rythm then gradually increase your speed til your there..

Don't want to practice it incorrectly. Harder to get it right if the wrong way has been cemented.
