Sewing cute babydoll pyjamas tops (includes BEGINNER FRIENDLY NO PATTERN design)

Woah, this turned out to be a big one. It's time for a mini sleepwear capsule! This week, I started working my sleepwear capsule by sewing 3 different retro babydoll style pyjamas top. In this video, I share my process of drafting and sewing these cute babydoll pyjamas tops! The one is BLUE is BEGINNER FRIENDLY NO PATTERN design that is basically made up of just rectangles. You can draft it easily according to your body measurements!

*EXTRA NOTES FOR SEWING THE BLUE STAR TOP:*
In my video at 03:27, I stated that “the long side of the rectangle is actually the width around my *_upper bust_* times a little more for the gathered design”. However, my illustration states “around *_full bust_* “.
Depending on the shape of your body, you can choose to use either your full bust or your upper bust width. The rule is to choose the bigger number because we want the finished top to have the *_right_* amount of volume (aka “poofiness”).
If you are choosing to make this top with cotton or linen, you may even consider multiplying the upper bust / full bust by 2.0 for an even fuller look.

I too wish that the stars had turned out a little better. It's the cutest design, but poorly fitted clothing is so hard to wear

Awesome video thank you so much!! For the blue star ruffle top: the longer side- should the measurement be pretty long? For example, if the bust is 32 inches I will end up cutting almost 60 for that side? Thank you!

Yay thank you! Great question! Yes, you can use the same measurements. You might even want to consider taking (width of full bust x 2.0) rather than multiplying by 1.8 for more poofiness!
(also gonna add a correction as a pinned comment because there's a discrepancy between my VO and the figure...)

You will have to make the calculations yourself with your own body measurements. The calculations are shared from 3:11 onwards.
