I just made the first top! I'm a beginner and this was my first project. Even though it didn't turn out perfect, it still was a great practice for me, and I loved this tutorial. I'll revisit it once I become better at sewing, lol
I know I am extremely late but I was wondering whenever this was your first ever time doing something with a sewing machine or if you had practised for a few weeks and then did it? Sorry I am just wondering if this can be my first project.
I’m a newbie sewer this year, this is my very first clothing project! Spent all day on the scrunchie top and I’m so proud of myself!! Thanks for a great and easy to follow tutorial 😃
Ok. What a surprise!!! I’m about to make my first easy top *thanks to this tutorial* and saw my face! Skillshare teacher 🙋🏻♀️ And now my watercolor designs with Moda Fabrics are my beginner sewing materials!
I came here after your tiered skirt. I am glad I did. So many ideas to make variations on the tiered skirt, from these tops (by adding the tiers). Thank you for excellent tutorials. Clear, easy to follow and take notes at the same time.
These are exactly the tops I was looking for to make!! As a beginner, you’re realy easy to follow and I appreciate how everything is shown in the video!! Really enjoy watching your tutorials 💜💜
my sewing machine is supposed to arrive next weekend and I cannot wait to get started with projects like this!! just found your channel and LOVE your tutorials :) thank you so much for sharing your creativity with all of us!! xxx x
I just love your creations! I’m a beginner at sewing, but you explained in a very understanble way so feel comfortable to try out and sew it! I would like to see a video in which u explain how you learn to sew and why!
Hey, beginner sewer here! Just made my first sewing project thanks to your video. I was nervous, but your video was so helpful and informative. Thank you so much, I'm so happy with the end result!
i watched so many videos, FINALLY I landed here. The BEST ONE. So so so beginner friendly. Simple technique, easy measurement tips, very detailed step by step guide. Overall, explained so well. thank you so much. glad I came across your video. surely going to try. I'm excited to begin my sewing journey.
Made the last one with jean fabric and it was the first top I had ever sewed! Turned out great ^o^ I followed your pajama short one as my first sewing project ever -- thank you so much!
Ohmyhod the GUIDE IS SOOOO SIMPLE AND EASY TO FOLLOW..I LITERALLY MSDE A CROP TOP IN 2 HOURS BY WATCHING THIS VIDEO...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DETAILED EXPLANATION.
I just made the first one out of some scrap fabric! I didn't have quite enough to fit my bust so made little ties for the side seams. It took me about 2 hours with the ties included (would have been faster if I had enough fabric). Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial!
this is a dream. my summer goal was to teach myself to sew, and your resources have helped that start to come true! can’t wait to do one of these projects. God bless!
Working on the first one rights now for my first real sewing project, and I will update when I finish!! Edit: it’s not completely finished but all I have to do now is do the final hemming and make it a bit smaller on the sides. Overall this was a great tutorial!! Super easy to do super beginner friendly and now I have a top I can actually wear!!! (All hand seen too, no sewing machine) it did take a long time though, but I am pretty slow
I made the 4th one white linen and added lining but in the front only (I didn't have enough fabric for the back part, but the lining is not important on the back side at all) It turned out so so beautiful. I think this is going to be my favourite blouse for this summer. I'm gonna make much more in other colors/fabrics It is so unique and easy to make, it is nice with or without straps Thank you for this video ❤️
Love this video exactly what Im looking for as a beginner sewer! Thank you so much! You inspired me a lot and be doing the same top with no fuss! Honestly, minutes ago I was on the blink of giving up since I do not know where to start with my sewing hobby! Now I know what I can do! Thank you! Following you from now!
I just made the fourth top and I love it! It was super simple to make and the video was really helpful and clear. Can’t wait to wear this in the summer! :]
Hi! Love your vid! First time sewing since my boyfriend got me a mini sewing machine, and I'm learning first from you! Really excited to try new patterns and tops.
Thank you so much for this video! I am a total beginner, and after days searching for an easy first project, the first of this tops is the only one I feel is doable for me: only straight lines and very easy measurements, all the other videos feature complicated (for me) sleeves and curved collars which would be a nightmare... I just learned how to sew more or less straight on my sewing machine 😂 So again, thank you!
I love how these all allow you to try different techniques! My machine comes in the mail Tuesday!! Gonna spend the week practicing stitching and maybe make a tote bag to start easy. Then I'd love to try making these tops for my friends :))
I'm so happy you made this video, I've been waiting for it since you shared the idea in a previous video. It really is so well thought out how you explain everything and I want to thank you for that because when I was a beginner your tutorials were the ones that helped me to understand and get a hang of sewing. I always enjoy your sewing projects a lot, lots of love to you from the Caribbean.
For begginers at the second top: when u sew the elastic tunnels, sew BOTH first, then put the elastic in. Sewin one with the another already gathered can be tricky, since it feels like youre sewing a circle
I made the first one, but with a tie up strap and I have a few notes for doing a bust-alteration: 1 - the straps will need to be closer together because your bust measurement will be wider. Pin them into place, then put the top on, then move the pinned straps until they are comfortable and flattering. You may prefer to have the front and back straps in different positions. 2- I found it easiest to put my darts along the top, my darts were in the same position as my straps, I sewed them last but that looks a little messy on the inside. ymmv. 3-- the side seam will be a little bit weird, again just because the entire top is based on bust measurement. I found it easiest to baste a side seam, put the top on, make marks of where it needed to come in, baste and repeat. This reduced the gaping on the back that would otherwise occur due to the difference between the front and back measurements of the chest. But the instructions that Maddy gave were a great starting point and really easy to follow.
Just made the first top yesterday and I love it soooo much! It's my favourite thing I've ever made now. I'm going to make it in so many more colours. Perfect top for my backpacking trip in september. Packs up super small, lightweight, don't have to wear a bra, can be dressed up or down. I'm just obsessed! Thank you so much!!!
I just gave the simple cute cami a go- not perfect but I'm so proud and did a scrunchie to match! I plan to make another two or three for summer as I have a big fabric stash
I just decided to make one of these using some tea towels I removed from the bottom kitchen drawer so it would shut. Clean white and gold tea towels I have never used. Very GC! Thanks for the inspiration.
What is marvellous with your little tops is that they can be worn over a tee shirt. It gives that extra bit of modesty (without having to wear a bra, which are so uncomfortable). It's not as hot as a waistcoat (which I wear in winter, but find to hot in summer). Thank you so much. I will definitely be trying them, and even mixing and matching which strap to do... So many options. I do love the encased elastic for the straps. Thank you.
Ahhhh yesss I’m so glad I found this, I made a skirt and was left over with and odd rectangle of fabric that I wanted to do something with but didn’t want a tube top. Top number one seems like it’ll be perfect! Plus I get a matching top out of scrap fabric, total bonus!!!
I really love your videos! Im a beginner and nobody teach me how to sew, your channel helps me a lot! I hope you make a bustier pattern sooon (a beginner friendly one!) 💕💕💕
I am trying the top 1 and top 2.... hope it comes out great..... thank you for such a detailed and easy diy tutorial.... love your videos .....excited about your next project

These are perfect for summer, true 1 yard (meter) wonders!!! Heading into winter here in the north but looking forward to making these.

it would be amazing to see you collab with Rosery Apparel- you're both aussie and have super cool aesthetics which would go together sooo well
