Binged your whole Warhammer playlist in about a month and plan to do it again in the future to let all the info sink in. Your narrations have been a great source of entertainment for me when I'm on the go. Thank you for your service, Luetin.
I tend to not watch lore videos on anything longer than 10 minutes if they don't have visuals that keep my attention. Luetin is the only creator I make a point to listen to when I'm driving or busy doing menial tasks
I torrented the Alpha, and after a few hours went back and bought the collectors edition, I didn't realize it was from the guys that did the pathfinder series though! About 20 hours in so far and absolutely loving it!
I'm really enjoying this video! I first got into 40k in 2003, and really got into the lore, as college me couldn't afford to actually buy an army. When I graduated, I lost my capacity to actively play, as my friends were a bit more widespread, and getting together wouldn't work, so the lore has been my favorite part since, and when I first discovered the FFG 40k game, Rogue Trader, I was so excited. Rogue Traders became my single favorite expression of 40k, and those of the Koronus Expanse gained a lot of my focus. I even invented my own RT, about nine years ago, and he has become possibly my most advanced, detailed character made for any RPG, and I've been into D&D since the mid 90s. He's 45+ pages of him, his endeavors, his kit, coterie, and more, and I love him, even if he might be too anime-themed for his own good. As much as I like 40k, and still pay close attention to what comes out for it, despite I haven't actually played the game in years, the various FFG games, and the regions of Space they deal in, have really made me a happy fan, so anything that goes back and details this setting makes me so happy, so thank you for your time, and efforts! 😁 Of course, any official product that also deals with it would also make me elated. I do wish that the recent table top Rogue Traders were cooler than they ended up, but the ones we could make, or meet in Koronus, were great, and I'd love to seevmore of that, even if I can't make my own in that game. This could be a lot of fun!
I’m with you on this: Rogue Trader is my favourite RPG bar none, and yet it is really quite obscure. The other FFG ones are good too, but I really enjoy having a voidship of your own in RT. I am SO excited to find out about this new game from Owlcat, hopefully it will be similar to its pen & paper namesake.
@@phueal Irs funny because I sort of started with Dark Heresy 1, and in their Ascension book, you can even become Inquisitors, with all the power that brings. Still, as an RPG, that readily means a number of fearless fools who won't be compelled to fear such power, and because of that, I feel I, too, prefer "simply" having a voidship. I know Rogue Traders and Inquisitors are at least sort of different, in the scopes of their power, but a ship, and the freedom to go where, and do what you want is great. Dearhwatch was a nice reference set, and I actually really liked Only War, in several, as Guard is my faction of choice, but Rogue Trader is my favorite FFG game, and probably in my top 5 favorite systems, altogether.

I always wonder, where Luetin gets those amazing artworks from in his videos ... and, of course, thanks Luetin for the Time and Effort put into these videos. My personal favorite way to get inside views into the WH40k Lore.
A couple friends and I wrote an iso rpg Rogue Trader game about 10 years back. Had class systems planned out, quests, even the story. But none of us ever went into game design, lol. Glad to finally see someone do a proper RPG with Rogue Trader attached to it.
My insomnia can end because the lore master has provided another master piece. Thank you Leutin, I love the content when I’m awake- but these are truly the only things that help me sleep sometimes.
Don't be ashamed because you're not the only one. I've used Luetin's videos to help me sleep a lot too. His calm baritone voice is heaven. I'm not gonna lie; I was only mildly interested in WH40k prior to finding Luetin and him helping me fall asleep. But as he talked to me as I was sleeping, it definitely sparked interest in it.
Owlcat's games are the only ones I have been hyped for. Wrath of the righteous was amazing, and now a 40k game. I'm hoping for the best considering they also play the tabletop games. And the main theme of game already gives me goosebumps.
I am pumped for this game. I can see myself watching this excellent primer a few more times. I've been running a Rogue Trader campaign for three years already, set in the Heathen Stars region but using my own home-brewed star-systems, planets , moons and stations. We have explored a lot and they have barely scratched the surface. The Fantasy Flight range of 40k rpgs is top-notch as it is set in highly detailed regions which I found inspired me to add my own too; like any rpg with scope, the game allows the Game Master to customise and invent. I contend that FF created the best rules system because the game stays risky and dangerous, no mattera character's advancement in Career Ranks. Secondly, FF provided loads of lore, both regional (Calixis Sector, Koronus Expanse, The Screaming Vortex etc) and galaxy-wide. The books detail the intricate structure and hierarchical organisations that comprise the Imperium itself while covering what it's like to live on the fringe of the Imperium and, most especially in the case the Rogue Trader portion of the books, what its like to venture beyond the Imperium of Man and brave the unknown.
Wow, I didn't know about the Rogue Trader game. Glad you mentioned it Luetin as it really looks like something I'll enjoy. Can't wait for the release and as always thanks for yet another great video

If it’s like Pathfinder I’m sold already. Amazing games! I’m an old Baldur’s Gate fan and I can say Pathfinder took the best of Baldur’s Gate and expanded upon it. Surpassed it perhaps even. That’s a lot coming from me!
Really informative and interesting video, LT, thanks! I’m glad these game devs are seeing how valuable your lore rundowns are, they help make me so much more hyped for their games to come out!
So, Luetin, I'm sure there's way too many comments for you to read em all. But I wanted to thank you for all your work throughout the years. Your videos got me into warhammer when I had to spend some time in the hospital and they've been a mainstay for years now.
Man your opening was awsome. You can picture the blessed machine going through all the old books, seeking the wisdom. Your a good righter, if you ever wrote a book id for sure read it.
For someone who is currently dungeonmastering a campaign themed around calixis, koronos, inquisition and rogue traders, this content piece is pure tressure. Looking forward to the game.
Uhhh... this looks interesting. CRPG in 40k? Right up my alley! Thanks for bringing this to my attention Luetin. Will be interesting to see if they live up to their vision.
Something I love about the concept of Rogue Traders is they are explicitly approved of by the Emperor of Mankind. Part of me wonders if he sees the drive for adventure in them, the hunger for unexplored existence, and sees that as important, too. Just my thoughts :)
About 30 hours into the game itself and thought ‘I know who might have some lore on this!’ So here I am building stuff and listening your quality content again :)
I hope your party members can have branching paths in their character growth from player choice and game events. A heretic Space Wolf is something we rarely see :3
In Pathfinder 2 going an evil route sometimes meant your good companions leaving or outright turning on you. Similar for some evil companions. So the space wolf might end up simply trying to kill you, and his branching path ending with his death after you do something too Chaos-y.
@@BigMikeMcBastard yes, but they also may have a way for you to corrupt them with chaos, considering that's chaos entire thing, it would feel pretty cheap if chaos couldn't convert any companions to change them personality wise, it wouldn't be the first time in an rpg where your actions result in changes to your companions, in new vegas your actions can have a companion either wear a Sombrero and a poncho and live his best life as a gunslinger, or he can live life as an old man pretty much basing his entire life on his mechanical skill
@@calebbarnhouse496 This. I really hope there is a chaos corruption for your party member a bit like the old KOTOR 2 games where you could corrupt your party members.
@@calebbarnhouse496 Mayyybe. Chaos is good at corrupting, that is true, but lore-wise one of the main characteristics of the Space Wolves is their unnatural resilience to such corruption. More than once it has been mentioned that they were literally built to contain the Eye of Terror, so it would be quite out of character for them to be corrupted by chaos. I could see it being a system where some of your companions would be corruptible and some of your companions choosing death before being corrupted.
@@wanderhillen2435 yea they are built to be resistant to chaos, just like every space marine is supposed to be resistant, but remember that there exists a few chaos sisters of battle, and there only reason to exist beyond selling diet female marines is that they are resistant to chaos
Last night I was binging Lueton videos because there wasn’t any new ones. Today I wake up to a new video. This proves my hypothesis that binging Lueton videos causes him to upload more.
The rogue trader ttrpg is one of, if not my favourite ttrpg. Imo the new wrath and glory doesn't hold a candle of the old ffl games, and i'm happy to see the fantastic setting of the calixis sector that ffl made for their games get some recognition.
Hey Luetin been a big fan for a few years now, I listen to your videos at work gets me through the day. Wanted to pitch a video idea could you do a imperial guard video? Like a long one? Maybe about the major victories and defeats and general history, general structure of ranks and what not and what a day to day would be like for a regular foot soldier. You’ve touched on them many times and if I remember right they had a spot in the top ten worst jobs vid but that was short lived. I think the little dudes deserve some love. Anyway regardless appreciate your work.
Thank you Leutin09 for providing these high production quality videos detailing the lore of 40k. I am sure you heard of this before but thank you again! Take care!
I've been in a dark heresy and rogue trader game for a decade and it's been so fun I can truly say it has been then the bright spot in my week for most of it. Also senschal gang rise up
Luetin you truly are a master storyteller, your work keeps accompanying my late tabletop RPG DM thoughts and creations, and I wanna thank you once more for a treat video on the most remarkable (to me) part of this inferno we call the Imperium.
I can imagine an absolute hellstorm of galactic activity... if we ever hear a Rogue Trader, sacrifice hundreds of psykers to send a message through the Galaxy... in desperation: *I AM REQUESTING ANY AND ALL SUPPORT!!! I HAVE LOCATED AN INTACT AND FULLY OPERATIONAL STC!!!*
In the somber vastness of the cosmos, a Rogue Trader is the quill that scribes new destinies upon the parchment of the stars. They are the torchbearers at the edge of night, the daring souls who venture where the map's edges fray and fall away into legend. Within their grasp, a Warrant of Trade - a holy scripture of purpose, etched in the blood of the God-Emperor and the ink of Imperial decree, a creed that blesses them with dominion over the uncharted reaches and whispers of power unknown. A Rogue Trader is the sovereign of the void, a regal monolith striding across the chessboard of the heavens. Theirs is a lineage or a destiny carved from the obsidian of deep space. In their hands, they wield not just the helm of their ship but the wheel of fate itself. Within the hollow halls of their starbound galleon, they command not just souls made of flesh and blood, but also the celestial spirits of adventure and the ravenous ghosts of ambition. On worlds where alien emperors reign unchallenged, a Rogue Trader is the shadow before the storm, the harbinger of a new dawn bedecked in war and wonder. With cannon and creed, they lay claim to these realms, scribing their names across the heavens in the indomitable language of conquest. They sail on the lonesome cosmic seas, where planets lie like unclaimed jewels, and nebulae drape over the black like the gossamer veils of celestial brides. A Rogue Trader gazes upon these wonders with the eyes of a ravening conqueror, a beneficent ruler, and a curious scholar, all at once. Each new world, a tome of unknown stories; each anomaly, a riddle wrapped in an enigma, swaddled in mystery. On occasion, like a thunderclap announcing the end of a storm, they come upon a world that sings with the echoes of ancient humanity-lost chords of a song once familiar. With the might of their Warrant, they weave these estranged brethren back into the Imperium's grand chorus. Elsewhere, they find planets that are silent, waiting for the sonorous boom of an Imperial banner unfurling or the guttural roar of a chainsword proclaiming conquest. In the boundless tableau of the universe, the Rogue Trader is the dauntless painter, the restless poet, whose every voyage scripts epic tales into the manuscript of the cosmos. They are the bridge between worlds known and unknown, the emissaries of the Imperium's insatiable hunger for dominion, and in their wake, they leave the enduring legacy of civilization twined with the dark beauty of the stars. So sails the Rogue Trader, a sovereign of the void, under the endless night of a million suns, each day a testament to human tenacity, each discovery a verse in the undying hymn to the God-Emperor. Their life is a battle, their path a crucible, as they cast the light of Holy Terra into the darkest corners of the galaxy.
I've been away for a while, so idk if the framing device of u being some type of servitor hiding from the inquisition is a one off or an on going thing, buts it's fucking awesome and I love it!! Feels good to be back
I played the ttrpg and I loved every minute of it. Hype as hell for that game though. Also, there's writs of trade that are forgeries, you can decide as much in the ttrpg character creation, it'd be interesting to see who'd be able to forge a warrant with a primarchs name lol
I've always loved games with no "grand quest to save the universe" questline, just being a random person in the world (not the "chosen hero"), going on adventure, gathering loot and building up a home and/or faction with said loot and just "do what I want", instead of being chained to a "you MUST do this" goal", I want to set my own goals. Fx. in Skyrim, I once derped around for over 600 hours before I did the next quest in the main quest line, many times the only reason I do main missions, is if they unlock something major, like a new area to explore, if not, then they'll only be done if i'm in the area and feel like "yeah, might as well do it while i'm in the neighborhood". And i've always seen rogue traders as such individuals.
I have run a successful TTRPG in this subsector under the Fantasy Flight Games rules. The Koronus Expanse is a perfect setting for pretty much any campaign you can run in the system.
Oh, if you want to look at OwlCat's Pathfinder games, and want to stick to seeing how they render tech stuff, if you can find a Let's Play section for the Blackwater section of Wrath of the Righteous (Kingmaker is their first game, and they have learned lots from then), you'll get an idea of the base for a "tech level" they have created. I'm a big fan of their CRPGs. I've been a little interested in their next game which is Rogue Traders, so this lore vid is really helpful to get an idea of if I want to dip my toes in the WH40K games. (Side note, 40K game soundtracks are really tops, and OwlCats' composers create some REEEEEALLY good tracks. They'll fit in really well to existing things, in their own way)
Having played and loved Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, I am excited for Rogue Trader! Surely OwlCat reaching out to Luiten is enough to quell the Inquisitor’s misgivings about him?
I'm excited to see some of the lore from the old RPG books brought to light. FFG loved leaving little tidbits of lore that were enticing but ultimately lead nowhere, with the ends and truths left to the gamemaster to flesh out as they wished. While great for a pen-and-paper game, this did leave a lot of open questions and I look forward to seeing at least some of them given high-quality answers on this game. I'm sort of getting hyped for it. Pathfinder was neat and, though not a setting I cared for, it was undoubtedly given a great deal of love and attention, so I expect their foray into 40k to be no less exceptional.
Love all your work Luetin! Recently I was rewatching some of your army videos and was wondering if you are gonna give an update soon? Anyway thank you for all the work you do and the fantastic content.

Your videos got me into warhammer lore. I immediately get excited every time I see a new video on my homepage!
This is easily one of your best lore videos, its very immersive, and the art choice is phenomenal
A lot of this art is original from Rogue Trader
Love how you partner with these big upcoming games. Your content gives a sense of scale/dread/horror that 40k games and stories so much deserve.
I really hope they give as much time and thought to their story telling as you do your videos. The possibilities here are brilliant.
Man your opening was awsome. You can picture the blessed machine going through all the old books, seeking the wisdom. Your a good righter, if you ever wrote a book id for sure read it.
So excited for this game to come out, I'm gonna play it with every variation possible 😁
For someone who is currently dungeonmastering a campaign themed around calixis, koronos, inquisition and rogue traders, this content piece is pure tressure. Looking forward to the game.
Out of curiosity are you using FFG’s Rogue Trader system, or something different?
I am here after Owlcat Games' Rogue Trader CRPG! It is really good!
Uhhh... this looks interesting. CRPG in 40k? Right up my alley! Thanks for bringing this to my attention Luetin. Will be interesting to see if they live up to their vision.
I am here after Owlcat Games' Rogue Trader CRPG! It is really good!
It truely is!
Starting to really look forward to this one.
Also great choice by Owlcat asking you to do these!
Perfect video to get in the mood for rogue trader 2023
Something I love about the concept of Rogue Traders is they are explicitly approved of by the Emperor of Mankind. Part of me wonders if he sees the drive for adventure in them, the hunger for unexplored existence, and sees that as important, too. Just my thoughts :)
Perfect backdrop for painting miniatures, as always. Thanks Luetin
About 30 hours into the game itself and thought ‘I know who might have some lore on this!’ So here I am building stuff and listening your quality content again :)
PLEASE keep up the persona of lost tech priest delivering delicious LORE
Thank you for the video. Still on the night shift, and this makes it much more bearable.
Ah yes, the UA-cam algorithm gods have blessed me with a brand new vid of YOUR’S. Just when I need it too
Thank you Leutin09 for providing these high production quality videos detailing the lore of 40k. I am sure you heard of this before but thank you again! Take care!
Whats leutin tho?
Playing the TTRPG Rogue Trader was my introduction to Warhammer 40K about 15 years ago.
You’re great Luetin, I got all my lore dumps while I paint or work, and you’re my go to. Keep it up mate!
Lore Master Luetin09 has come to us with stories of great importance once more. For this we give gratitude to the God Emperor for this blessing
I can imagine an absolute hellstorm of galactic activity... if we ever hear a Rogue Trader, sacrifice hundreds of psykers to send a message through the Galaxy... in desperation:
*I AM REQUESTING ANY AND ALL SUPPORT!!! I HAVE LOCATED AN INTACT AND FULLY OPERATIONAL STC!!!*
You are blowing my mind with the increased pace of content. Thank you!
The intro drums always get me in the mood.
We have been playing the fantasy flight Games pen and paper RPG for the last three years. This is something I have been waiting for.
I'm hopeful something will inspire a guard video in the future. Their units seem to be as rich, varied and storied as the Astartes.
Crazy idea Navigators piloting fighter planes that can use warp travel during battle to suprise/out remover the others.
Another great video, you're on form at the minute pal.
Like the way you bring your narration into the lore. I hope a long time for that kind of move. GG
I'm at work right now but wanted to pop in and comment that I'm looking forward to watching this later tonight.
I've been away for a while, so idk if the framing device of u being some type of servitor hiding from the inquisition is a one off or an on going thing, buts it's fucking awesome and I love it!! Feels good to be back
Great introduction to this game setting. Another professional and fascinating video on this channel.
I played the ttrpg and I loved every minute of it. Hype as hell for that game though. Also, there's writs of trade that are forgeries, you can decide as much in the ttrpg character creation, it'd be interesting to see who'd be able to forge a warrant with a primarchs name lol
You and Alfabusa got me into the 40k universe. Can't really afford an army and I'm a shit painter but I love the lore and the books with a passion
Owlcat paying luetin to do what he does best. It is a good day to be alive.
Peace and stay safe
New Luetin while I’m doing cardio at the gym. Thank you.
just yesterday I was thinking "man, I hope owlcat does something with Leutin for the RTRPG, and BAM!!!!
Luetin - an absolutely masterful video - jaw-dropping in breadth and depth - brilliant in conception - and exquisitely delivered. My many thanks.
Just when I sit down to paint, Luetin releases a video to give me something to have on to give me focus. Providential, maybe?
I have run a successful TTRPG in this subsector under the Fantasy Flight Games rules. The Koronus Expanse is a perfect setting for pretty much any campaign you can run in the system.
Revisiting this gem, thanks.
Awesome video Luetin, let's hope the new Rogue Trader game is as awesome as promised
loved the video, such great atmosphere you create a fantastic cinematic storytelling structure.
Rogue Trader is out now! Finally!
Oh my god they're making a rogue trader game I've wanted this for so long
8:15 maybe capacity of Rogue Traders ships were limited, so they took only the richest
“Where I as a day to day self repairing entity”
Now I'm no Inquisitor but that sounds a little Man of Iron-y to me...
Thank you doing my first play through!
Sit down with a nice hot Coffee and relax. The Lore Master speaks. And we shall listen.
I love Abelard, especially making him cringe when I tell him that I'm gonna touch the terrible object or try to talk to the scary alien first
Oh, if you want to look at OwlCat's Pathfinder games, and want to stick to seeing how they render tech stuff, if you can find a Let's Play section for the Blackwater section of Wrath of the Righteous (Kingmaker is their first game, and they have learned lots from then), you'll get an idea of the base for a "tech level" they have created.
I feel the title of this video could be the musical we didn't know we needed!
Just found the channel, due to the RT game. Loving the 40k lore.
Im researching all the rogue trader i can due to owlcats new phenomenal game.
Thank you Lore Master. Your light shines as bright as the emperor’s own. So great you are I’ve committed heresy.
Bless my with your channel like lore master!
The Emperor protects! Love it every time I see a new post from you! Hope you're well, thank you for the video!
Finally, the other half of my Rouge Trader/ Freeblade Knights army lor :P
Love all your work Luetin! Recently I was rewatching some of your army videos and was wondering if you are gonna give an update soon? Anyway thank you for all the work you do and the fantastic content.
With all the Darktide talks (rightly so, of course) I was wondering if I was alone on the Rogue Trader train!
New Lore video from Luetin! I will watch this tonight.
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for fueling my deep dive into the verse of 40K
Owlcat are one of my favourite developers super hyped for this game
