Why is it every time Brits visit Walmart, they only go to the grocery dept? Just once I wish they would do a full tour and show just exactly what is available in Walmart. Show all of the departments so their fellow Brits know the full scope of the store.
You can easily guess the scope by understanding they usually have at least 1 of everything; from an oil filter, to an eyeglass place, to clothes, electronics, crafts, shoes, housewares, furniture, appliances, etc. I live in a small city & ours is not even half the size of the super stores, and I am confident to find anything I need or want.
I'm from UK and went on vacation to america recently and I was amazed at how big walmart is. Freakin huge! They sell everything. Even tires! Side note everything is just bigger in america and the houses are much better will lots of big rooms. Room for a gameroom! Also having air-conditioning is freaking incredible but sometimes feels cold after being outside in the warm. I was in ohio and definitely needed a car to get around. I seen americans flags everywhere and we don't do that because apparently it's racist to show off the british flag which is just sad.
Just an observation. Only took a few semesters of organic chemistry but I believe all food is organic. Even most pesticides and antibiotics are organic. Don’t really understand the usage of that terminology.
Macaroni is not found on the international aisle, there is a whole separate aisle for that. Goya is the producer of Spanish food, canned beans, spices, marinades, and flavored rice, yellow rice, rice.and beans .
Why would Goya be on the international aisle? Pretty sure they are a Miami based company. Plus their black and red beans belong on the canned beans aisle.
Now that was an experience walking around Walmart with you all! Some items were really expensive compared to here but, some items were cheaper. Enjoy yourselves! 👏👏👏👏👍💗💗💗💗🇬🇧
We call them French fries because the potatoes are French cut and then they’re fried. But also there’s crinkle cut fries, steak fries, waffle fries (from potatoes not real waffles lol), then shoe string fries, cut real thin but long, and curly fries. Or chop up a couple of potatoes into small cubes and make fried potatoes and add any kind of oil and seasoning you like. Endless possibilities with a potato. Lol 🥔🍟
Also today a waitress said do i want american fries or hash browns and I was like whats an american fry? Apparently its a fry thats in a cube square shape

Lidl and Aldi are private-label retailers. They do not sell brand-name products (at least not for the majority of their wares.) That is why they can offer their products at a cheaper price, as they are in effect, generic products. The baked beans that are eaten in the U.K. are actually the traditional recipe for Boston baked beans. There is also pork-&-bans, made with salt-pork or bacon. (And they are hardly "niche" in the U.S.) Heinz, the top-selling brand in the United Kingdom, is an American company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. By the way, traditional Mexican refried beans are made with "manteca," or lard. Look for fat-free or vegan/vegetarian.
Actually, the Lidls near us sell quite a few brand-name products, but the Aldis carry almost entirely their own brand. Completely different shopping experience from Aldi (more like a warehouse) than Lidl. I shop at both for different items.
Great video! Just wanted to add, if you get any kind of veggies, you can get these thin plastic bag to put them in (free), they're usually all around the produce aisles.
The same food in Oklahoma, Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina and other states would be about $80-85. (Except we don't need to buy watermelon, we usually grow them, or someone we know does.)
@@jstringfellow1961we live in Wilmington, NC a tourist area. So in our area $101 would be a great price for all that food. We also were recently in Orlando, the last week of April and the first week of May, so the price they paid was actually quite good.
Funny watching you shop in our stores! Oh, BTW, the grapes were per pound... not $2.48 for the whole bag. You probably paid like $8 for that entire bag. Also, for the most part we call "green onions" green onions. They are sometimes called scallions in recipes for some reason. However, I've never heard spring onions. $101.85? That's pretty good actually. I thought you were on the way to over $200! Enjoy your stay on the U.S. I've always wanted to go to England! Maybe someday.
Most of the time, the "reduced" items aren't reduced at all. They're the same price as before. Also, inflation has hit the US a lot unfortunately. That's why everything is more expensive
Great vid! Thanks for highlighting how you can in fact eat healthy here. I'm always surprised by how many people I meet overseas who think all we eat is American cheese and sugar bread.😅
Hey, thanks for your comment 😊 We've found it very easy to eat healthy here, and have felt great. I think in the end it comes down to the person choices we choose to make 👍
Next time y'all go to get a watermelon, look for one with a yellow spot where it was sitting on the ground in the field. They're usually sweeter and more flavorful
I’m watching you shop and I’m stunned! So many things you said “ wow that’s a great deal” I could only dream of buying. No, I’m not riding the government hand out system. wait, "biggest supermarket" ? The Walmart I go to, the grocery section is maybe only 10-20% of the place. A normal supermarket is much larger am I right? But yes it's fun to visit a Walmart.
I was laughing how you kept saying how big everything was! 😂 You should try Whole Foods. Since Amazon bought it, the prices aren’t as bad and they have loads of fun vegan options.
Great video guys. Really interesting to see a US supermarket. Would love to share as much of your holiday that you are willing to. But don't have all work and no play. ❤
As far as scallons, that word in my experience is only encountered on sit down restaurant menus. I almost never hear or see that word in any other situation.
Yes! Texas toast is it's own separate thing created in Texas, sometimes with cheese and other toppings added. Also, important to remember this is a Walmart in Florida. Very niche and very specific market. These prices are way cheaper than the rest of the country, too.
Most food packages have the metric measurements on them right after the imperial ones. So they will say something like 6 oz/170.1 grams. We don't use the metric system but most of our stuff still has them or is converted from them (lots of technical and scientific things use metric and are converted to imperial before they go to the general public). And we also do in some cases use the metric system directly. In the case of food we buy soda in liters and for guns (ironically) we often use millimeter when measuring the caliber of the barrel/round.

A $101 for fresh produce, organic, and vegetarian food in Florida?!?! Wow! I live in rural northwest Oklahoma and going to my nearest Walmart it’d cost me even more than that. I’ve visited friends and family in Florida, but they live in different parts of the state. Maybe because Disney World and Universal, etc, are nearby the Walmart you went to is busy enough that it can keep those foods at a lower price than out here where I live. I definitely think you must have found some good buys on items as well. It’s not hard to do at Walmart (or maybe I think that because my mom is an employee and has been with the company for several decades now so I’m just used to shopping there). Fun video! Thanks for sharing your experience! The villa looks really nice as well!
It’s got to be the rural location. Those prices are near identical to okc. My son lives west-central and does his shopping when he comes to visit because it’s so much cheaper.
I'm glad you had fun at Walmart .. lol... Its always the tourists that have fun at Walmart .. This is my first time watching your channel .. I enjoyed it and will watch more .. I just have one criticism and it might help you for your next shopping experience in the USA. What we do when we put an item in our cart, and later decide we do not want that item, we either return it to where we got it, or we bring it up to the register with us and tell the cashier that we changed our mind and no longer want that item. They will promptly have someone return it to its proper place, that way frozen bread doesn't end up in the regular bread isle and defrost which renders it unsellable. That is something maybe helpful for any tourist visiting the US or anywhere actually. It makes the store workers job easier and less write offs for food no longer sellable.
Good to see you checking the ingredient labels. Especially on the good value brand. They've been sneaking in some very strange things into some of their items. Like fish (tilapia) in their maple syrup. 😵💫.
According to my sons who work at WM, the groceries are to bring in customers to buy everything else thats general merchandise, but they essentially break even on the food
Loved this video, I think bob was more excited than Katie in Walmart. Not too bad a shop for €100. I would love a villa tour that would be great. I was wondering you were talking about buying something then donating it , if you could and there is a place near you how about buying cat &dog food and donating it to a shelter. A target trip would be fab also. Enjoy your stay guys.
How about visiting Farmer's Markets? Granted, these are not technically stores, but if you are looking for good, fresh, non- chemically treated food these should be a must on your next outing. There are organic farms in FL which also have their own farm store. A haven for foodies. Enjoy your trip to the USA!
Walmart is a grocery store / clothing store but I wouldn't say Walmart is our biggest grocery store because it is not I live in Texas so our biggest grocery store that just sells nothing but groceries is H-E-B or Kroger
Hi sweeties loving the videos just a thought you could have made your own tortilla chips from the bag of 80 wraps that's all they are made of and then used the rest for the quesadillas xx
Yes, you are right, would like too, Hi how are you doing, don't mind me by coming by your comment section, thanks and nice to communicate with you as friends but where are you from?
I'm so excited you're here in the states. 🤗 Shopping in stores I go to. For the amount of food you got that is actually a great price. I also like Costco, Aldi and Trader Joe's for fun specialty items, good on prices. Would love to see a tour of the place. 😊
Hey Karen, thanks for your comment and for your feedback! It's good to hear that you thought that we got a good amount! 😊 Thanks too for the store recommendations, we definitely plan to visit those places 👌
organic is normally always going to be more expensive because it's extra work taking care in the fields also water melons are not weighed pretty much Walmart buys that that load and it all comes in that box that your son picked out from, you can't really weigh otherwise you will be there forever
Thanks great video . I really thought you would have spent more, their sizes put ours to shame . Did the man you followed have noodles to eat or pool noodles ? There’s Publix and Kroger there’s random supermarkets as well . ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Dennis, thanks for your question 😊 We LOVE the USA and it's people, and we really wanted to give our youngest son (and ourselves of course) a fun holiday in Orlando 👍
there are 2 different walmarts. 1 is just walmart the other is walmart supercenter. if it dos not say walmart supercenter than you went to the small one
I currently work there as a cashier and would like to strongly advise you to NEVER, EVER purchase any produce from Wal-Mart. It never fails to go bad very quickly because it was in storage for far too long.
Me and my boys(2 of them) watch your videos religiously and wait for the your next upload… Always wanted to go Walmart and I think you done a decent shop, how long are you on holiday for though? Also I love how Jojo doesn’t ask for anything unlike my boys…. Keep enjoying yourself and the sun
For better prices on most things, you will have to get away from the tourist hot spots and coastal cities. Try to experience the US away from those places, rent a car and take a day trip somewhere.
Hey Kathy, we're the same - this is our first time in a villa opposed to the hotels we stayed in before, so we're excited to share this place with you soon 😊
I think you will find fresh foods are cheaper in the UK but junk foods and Large corporate brands will be way cheaper in the US. Best bang for buck as far as quality/cost is going to be ALDI or LIDL ( which are in the US although GERMAN owned ). If you are going to get the INSTANT-POT get the NINJA FOODI with single lid instead, 701 I think, You wont be sorry I have several of both.
Looks like you're really having fun. Just so EVERYONE who isn't from the States didn't know, GREAT VALUE brand is Walmart's brand, it is not a good brand 80% of the time. ALSO...NEVER EVER leave your cart while you go shopping down an aisle, that could be and is actually VERY RUDE to do. Just trying to help you out in case you wondered why the people grumbled at you.
Hi Katie, Bob and JoJo live not live from overcast Scotland. Another awesome grocery shopping video Family Freedom and love 🥰 it (even though they got lost ). I have started to eat Pot Noodles (it's due to Katie's bad influence 😂). Love ❤Bob, 💕 Katie & 🧡 JoJo.
We have different kinds of cucumbers. The kind you bought which is longer, darker, and wrapped in plastic, we call English Cucumbers. The regular ones mainly used for salads, we just call cucumbers or slicing cucumbers. They have waxy skin. Do you have different names for the types of cucumbers?
You must love cooking to cook on your holidays. I absolutely refuse to cook on holidays because I hate it! It's my chance to have a break. It looks like America is no more expensive than Australia but they have a better vegan range.
Hey FreeGang! We had so much fun shopping at Walmart! Please suggest any other places you would like to see us go whilst here is the USA 🇺🇸

US Aldi vs UK Aldi
Target and Trader Joe's
Hopefully your meals planning turns out for you guys and take care and just keep rising 💚👆

Welcome to Walmart shopping, we all just go in there for a few items and end up with a cart full. lol =)
That could so easily be us! 😂
Fab video, I hope you guys are having a great time 😊
I totally want to see an ALDI trip... And Dollar Tree!!! Omg Katie will not want to leave anything there 😅
😂😂😂
Hope your enjoying yourselfs, love to have you here, love from Maine Lorna ❤
Thank you Lorna!
If you want to know the better deals you want to look at the price in the red box. It breaks the price down to a smaller weight.
Thanks for the tip!
Hope you guys enjoy your shopping at Walmart ❤
Thanks William! 😊
I'd love to see the house tour!
Like the fact that you work together!😊
It's a team effort Susan! 😃
I'm so excited you're here in the states. 🤗 Shopping in stores I go to. For the amount of food you got that is actually a great price. I also like Costco, Aldi and Trader Joe's for fun specialty items, good on prices. Would love to see a tour of the place. 😊
I mentioned that they should do Aldi's as a comparison (their Vegan selection is also much bigger) and that I think they'd enjoy Trader Joe's.
Hey Karen, thanks for your comment and for your feedback! It's good to hear that you thought that we got a good amount! 😊
Thanks too for the store recommendations, we definitely plan to visit those places 👌

You're welcome Katie and Bob hope you two and Jojo of course are enjoying your holiday 🤗
Scallions and green onions same thing. We call them by both names
Just binge watched your videos and now I can’t stop watching
We appreciate you watching the videos Joshua 🙏😊
organic is normally always going to be more expensive because it's extra work taking care in the fields also water melons are not weighed pretty much Walmart buys that that load and it all comes in that box that your son picked out from, you can't really weigh otherwise you will be there forever
would love to see a tour of your villa xx
Thanks great video . I really thought you would have spent more, their sizes put ours to shame . Did the man you followed have noodles to eat or pool noodles ? There’s Publix and Kroger there’s random supermarkets as well . ❤️❤️❤️
You're the British citizen, and I'm the American citizen!
Bob and Katie, what brings you to the United States of America?
Hey Dennis, thanks for your question 😊
We LOVE the USA and it's people, and we really wanted to give our youngest son (and ourselves of course) a fun holiday in Orlando 👍
This was great Free gang. Please do a tour of your villa. xx
Yes for the tour
Yes
Loved this shopping vlog, great to see Walmart, Enjoy your holiday x 1:13
Thank you 🤗
Welcome to Orlando fam 😍
there are 2 different walmarts.
Thanks for the info Tracey. Fortunately the produce we got lasted fine, but it's good to know the info for the future 👍
As Orlando is a resort town and popular vacation destination the prices are probably fairly high even for Walmart.
Me and my boys(2 of them) watch your videos religiously and wait for the your next upload…
Always wanted to go Walmart and I think you done a decent shop, how long are you on holiday for though?
Also I love how Jojo doesn’t ask for anything unlike my boys….
Keep enjoying yourself and the sun
Aw thanks for your comment Stacey! It's really sweet to hear how you and your boys enjoy watching our videos, thank you so much 🙏
For better prices on most things, you will have to get away from the tourist hot spots and coastal cities. Try to experience the US away from those places, rent a car and take a day trip somewhere.
Tour please, I've only stayed in hotels whenever I've been to Orlando would loved to have stayed in a villa. Xx
Hey Kathy, we're the same - this is our first time in a villa opposed to the hotels we stayed in before, so we're excited to share this place with you soon 😊
How fun... I'm going to subscribe. Especially like JoJo😇,.. great video
Yes I would love to see the villa🎉🎉
I think you will find fresh foods are cheaper in the UK but junk foods and Large corporate brands will be way cheaper in the US. Best bang for buck as far as quality/cost is going to be ALDI or LIDL ( which are in the US although GERMAN owned ). If you are going to get the INSTANT-POT get the NINJA FOODI with single lid instead, 701 I think, You wont be sorry I have several of both.
Thanks so much for all of your helpful tips! We really appreciate it 👍
How was Orlando, Florida?
It’s awesome! We love it here 🇺🇸💙🇺🇸
Get the garlic texas toast!! it's just garlic bread but so good... I forgot about it! Haven't seen it since I left Canada
You guys should go at 11pm and youll have yourself a little show 🙂
Looks like you're really having fun.
Looking at the thrift shops would be good they seem so different when I see videos etc about them especially goodwill
Hey David, thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏
We're glad to hear that you have begun your pot noodle journey!! 😂
Hey Brad, thanks for the info 👍🥒
Generally in England, we just have cucumbers, with the only variations being size or organic
In the south a "shopping cart" is known as a buggy. We call em buggies. 😅😅
That's cool! Thanks for letting us know 👍😊
You must love cooking to cook on your holidays. I absolutely refuse to cook on holidays because I hate it! It's my chance to have a break. It looks like America is no more expensive than Australia but they have a better vegan range.
