    This routine really works. My hair flourished. I have never seen my hair look better.
    Then I fell off my routine and whilst I did not neglect my hair it was not the same.
    Here I am again to refresh myself with the routine.

    Fermented rice water is another vegan and cheap alternative for a protein treatment and it’s said to actually penetrate into the hair shaft where as egg sorta sits on top. It’s really easy to make I love using it and I suggest y’all looking for an alternative look into it

    • @kellykoistinen1934
      @kellykoistinen1934 6 років тому +6

      Tacheyana Langston you take some rice and leave it in water for a day or two in room temperature. It will smell slightly sour. It’s kinda gross at first but now I love using it on my hair. There’s lots of videos on UA-cam about it if you would like more in depth stuff

      Actually, it doesn't. It sits ontop of the hair shaft. You'll need "hydrolized" rice protein for penetration.

    This post is an answer to prayer & much needed inspiration. I started my HGJ in late Nov. Thrilled to share I had 2"-3" of length & improved density. However, single strand knots & split ends were taking a toll on my curls. I was concerned. I went to a salon yesterday to have my ends clipped..clipped! Sadly the person cut off my new growth, plus more. I'll never return to that salon. I was upside down about it, yet my spirit encouraged me to see the silver lining... the damaged hair was gone. I have ayruvedic herbs, oils & natural ingredients, but I was in great need of how to create a solid hair care/growth routine. I no longer feel lost, I am very grateful for this timely post. Bless up!

    Hey Curly Proverbz! I have to ask girl. Since you have become my top favorite natural curly youtuber I have to ask this of you and I hope you can do it. I feel this may be time consuming but I would adore you even more if you did this not only for me, but for other naturals with healthy hair growth challenges. I would like to see you do a monthly and quarterly hair routine calendar style. Like if you could get a huge calendar and write, draw, stamp the emoji symbols for your wash days, the days you apply your pre poo and/or co wash, the days you apply your henna, henna gloss, cassia, your ayurvedic tea, and your super hair growth oil that would really give me a very very realistic view of what I can do to my hair and keep it moisturized and maintain it. So on one video you said that you don't always wear your hair down. Marking that on the calendar like for example: you could put protective style in green and draw green arrow for how ever many days you wore your hair in a protective style that week (If it was Monday through Friday mark and arrow through those days). If you had to do any touch ups mid-week or in-between wash days state, demonstrate, illustrate on the calendar what you did and what products you used to refresh your hair etc. I feel like I have the information that your giving me is so amazing but I don't know where to start on how to make a weekly routine out of it.My hair is longer in the back then it is on at the top. It touches the back of my neck in the back and can be stretched to collar bone length and my hair is really thick at the roots through most of my hair but my ends are thin and I have light brown tips from a permanent die I did from last January. I know you had a rule about not using the tea and the gloss at the same time and that we have to wait for so long to use the gloss or masque if we had been using the tea several times during the week on our hair but i'm still not really clear on that. I feel like seeing the broad picture would really help my hair grow like wildfire. I know you are a very busy lady but this would help so much and I would clearly see where to start off.

      Jaterika Samone yes a calendar PLEASE

    • @elsedamarshh3786
      @elsedamarshh3786 6 років тому +8

      Jaterika Samone it sounds like you need a good trim! For the best results or just quicker in general starting off your hair regimen with all ends dusted is best. As far as a calendar, all you really need is a WEEKLY routine. Then follow that routine every week. Your hair doesn’t need as much manipulation as many think. Wash day is typically once a week. That includes the steps 1)PREPOO: any oil ie Olive, Coconut, etc. that your hair likes. You can even use Aloe Vera. Wrap your hair in a bag or use plastic caps and Let sit 6-8 hrs. 2) SHAMPOO: any of your choice. A good simple one that I like is the same thing I use to clean my face and body: Dr Bronners Castile Soap: Peppermint or Eucalyptus. You can even use a DIY African Black Soap Shampoo just look up a recipe of UA-cam and use one that you like 3) PROTEIN/KERATIN TREATMENT You can use the Aphogee ones and/or I’m sure she’s mentioned some as well 4) DEEP CONDITIONER-there are several good ones and I’m sure she’s mentioned 5) CONDITIONER-there are tons of natural ones out there, just use what your hair responds well too. 6) LEAVE IN/MOISTURIZER-same thing, use one you like. I’m sure she’s mentioned some of these as well. 7)STYLE (Optional) here is where you can use any natural custards or gels ie Aloe Vera gel, flaxseed, etc. to style your hair. 8) OIL: oil your ends and massage your scalp! For any other days, if your hair is styled in a wash n go all you need to do is wrap/bonnet your hair at night, then in the morning spritz and add a little oil (every other day or two). If your style was a twist out, braid out, etc you can still spritz and oil lightly every other day. For the masks she mentions, you can use one every week in place of your protein treatment. You can also use the rinses one day out of the week other than wash day when you think your hair needs a little moisture and/or definition. Everything else is just eating + drinking, sleeping, and exercising. Hope this helps!

    When you say moisturise & seal daily, we should moisturise & seal with what? And does that mean even when you’re using the tea? Also, is it best to use the tea in the morning or at same? Same question for the moisture & seal.

    When you say moisturize daily, what are we using to do that if we will be using the tea and oil for the other 3 days? I like to wear wash and goes but not sure what to do with it on this challenge. When you suggest oiling are we just doing scalp and ends only or including the hair length? What do you suggest for moisturising the wash and go? I normally dampen/spritz with a mixture of avj, water, castor oil and conditioner or (original Kimmaytube LI recipe) and seal (scrunch) with oils to seal. How does that sound? Do you ever top up with gel or do you find there is still enough in still left in your hair? Apologies for so many questions. Thanks for the video. Will watch again in case I missed somwrhung. It would be helpful if you could demonstrate what you do for the whole week so we can get an idea of how to work the Challenge with our chosen styles e.g braid wearers (extensions) and wash and goers (gel users), etc. Keep up the good work!

    I am in the process of growing my hair from a very close hair cut. My hair growth journey started in September 2017. I did not start using fenugreek until December, and I immediately noticed a difference in how fast my hair grew. It grew long enough for me to put extension braids in my hair, I created a moisturizing hair growth oil using fenugreek. I even figured out how to cover up fenugreek;s odor. My hair has been in braids since late December. I have been using my hair growth oil almost everyday, and the growth is phenomenal. I just purchased the ingredients for the DIY hair growth oil you suggested, and will begin using that oil as well. I plan to take my braids out in about two weeks. Thank you for the education you have given on these herbs!

      I know this is years later, but if you're still struggling with iron, or if you're not (because it's nutritious either way), drink smoothies. Get some fresh spinach or kale, squeeze a lemon/orange/citrus and another fruit(if you'd like) blend it up. Loads of iron and vitamins and fiber without filling you up too much. When I was drinking smoothies my blood tests were in the most ideal range for the first time ever. Of course you're not limited to what I suggested but the key is a dark leafy green (kale,spinach, Swiss chard, beets greens) and something high in vitamin C (citruses, pineapple, which makes everything delicious) additionally, do not strain it.

      vvh3r3swald0 Thank you sooo much. My hair has been growing and shedding less. I was getting very upset there for a while. Yes I have been drinking more smoothies. I’m trying to incorporate more vegetables in them and in general. I found out I have developed a gluten intolerance and autoimmune disorders. Such as psoriasis and fibromyalgia. Just words that describe my body is out of wack. The food allergies were inflaming my guts and my body so much that I wasn’t absorbing anything. The doctors originally thought I had arsenic poisoning because of how my zinc and iron were so low and of course the work I was doing (wastewater treatment plant). It’s strange because I’m in my 50s and I never had problems with these foods. I don’t know if it’s my age or the way food is processed now or both. I’m still trying to find a diet that works for me. Unfortunately my body responds well with eating lean meat and I really wanted to give that up. Thank you again for replying.

      @@TracyD2 well being gluten free is not as difficult as it used to be before. Definitely requires more time in the kitchen but you'll soon learn there's so much variety that has been masked by wheat based product. I wish you the best of luck.

      I'm relaxed too and I have been using Neem and Brahmi...I finally used henna this past Saturday and it's amazing stuff! Its probably better for relaxed hair because it is in a damaged state because of the chemicals. I make glosses with my powders. I mix oils, conditioners, honey and have even used coconut milk. When I have some diy fenugreek/Rosemary tea, I'll add that as well. I always do a deep conditioni after. And I always do an overnight pre-poo the night before my wash day.

    Absolutely love Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave - In. Also SheScentit has a few great leave ins, one of my favorites is the Cranbury Cocktail, currently using this since I ran out of Shea Moisture (btw only Shea Moisture product line I like Jamaican Black Castor oil.
    I have a question regarding protective styling and the regime. I have been using your methods since I found you on UA-cam about a year ago. I have seen a tremendous change in the moisture level in my hair. I have not seen tremendous growth. I think I was manipulating my hair too much...idk...so is it okay to have my hair in mini twists AND follow the regimen? I plan on keeping the twists in for a month, wash weekly (in twists), I use the bellebar Organics tea (love it), follow with my leave-in and DIY growth oil (your recipe). I will do a full on henna treatment again when I take out these twists to put in another set of twists (these grays honey, lol). I thought about my hair growth in the past (wore a lot of braids and twists with extensions) my hair grew if I left it alone. Back then I didn’t even know about moisturizing and my hair flourished on its own. I want to achieve that length and go beyond, so I hope this approach will yield the results I am looking for in this growth challenge. Thanks so much for your time and energy. Continue to be blessed and well.

    1. Pre-poo (my homemade oil- fenugreek ) overnight with a massage 2. Do a ( yoghurt,amla,shikaikai,fenugreek n oil) Mask for an hour 3. Wash off with just water 4. Onion juice with aloe Vera gel (1hr) 5. Shampoo (black African homemade shampoo) 6. Deep condition ( my oil,avocado,shea moisture dc,banana) sometimes jus the DC it's self no egg,banana or avocado. 7. Sit under a hooded dryer for 30minutes on medium heat setting. 7. Rinse off n use a rinse off conditioner 8. Do the LCO method n twist
    Than during the week I spritz my twist hair morning n night with Aloe Vera juice, which is good after exercising too. N I do 4 times per week scalp massage,
