@@MyShive Not according to the rules of lane written in Motor Vehicle Act. The taxi was getting onto the main road, so according to the Right of Way, the dashcam car had the right to go first. But in most parts of India, these are only "written", no one care to follow..

Both drivers are equally at fault, The taxi driver should have waited for a clean entry into the oncoming traffic however if he did enter you should have braked and let him go but you also did not brake, So its poor driving from both.

It is common in Uttrakhand specially in Rishikesh, Neelkanth like hilly areas. These local cab drivers drive recklessly and when got hit by another vehicle even after their own fault, these unite and directly asks for money. One incidence happened with us also in Neelkanth, the stupid driver started honking without taking any break and when we gave him side on a narrow hilly road, he intentionally overtook us in which his rear bumper and our front bumper got struck. He didn't even saw that there was no damage in any of the cars but still said to us: Galti h aapki, paise do.

Infact Mr.Arpit was too busy talking to his friend and not focusing on road, else he could have easy spotted the taxi intersecting his path which was very clearly visible in his dashcam...taxi driver must have not abused Arpit.
