    Just ordered the Ridgid version and its coming in today. It is the 21 degree nailer, I see AEG seems to have a better tool lineup than the US counterpart in Ridgid.
    Everyone ive heard with the AEG and Ridgid seem to like it so I can't wait to get it.
    I agree on the battery, I have a 2ah that came with something i bought and they feel cheaper than my older ones.

      Just purchased this Framer tho, so good so far

    My dad and I got this today and we love it (we had a big play as you do with new toys). Only thing we found we're not keen on is the connection for the compressor. If you have the BHPV18-0 tyre pump, It is abit of a bugger to connect it due to the mag being in the way. I think the reason why is because the yanks Ridgid(aeg) uses 21°, where we use 30°-34° and they didn't account for that. Otherwise fun tool, it will do the job and you can show those paslode pesant whos king lol

    Nice Cordless Framing nailer from AEG… just note the Hikoki/Metabo HTP air cartridge is refillable and uses a stinger threaded fitting (ring seal) kit with a reg. precharge air to 110 psi (759 kPa) in Maintenace mode).
    EU & ASME safety rate pneumatics at 4 x S.F. (Burst pres) Knowing that, the Metabo could also be precharged by an extra 10-15% ie 120 psi ( 835 kPa) compressed air OR nitrogen which improves cold weather & max drive performance (May yet match Milwaukee’s m18 Fuel nailer).
    *Metabo 18 & 36v Pin, Brad & finish nailers are ALSO customer rechargeable & could benefit max drive by a slightly higher precharge. OEM charge kit available in some countries.

    Nice to be able to get all the tools, I've used AEG for years then they pulled out of Europe (long before brexit) and it's almost impossible to even get a battery now except from eBay where the prices are extortionate.
    I have contacted AEG "Europe" many times and not once have I ever got an answer, so doesn't bode well for my extended warranties I expect.
    Such a shame that I now am considering dumping the lot and re-investing in a brand that I can easily obtain here in the UK, I don't rate DeWalt, Stanley or B&D and neither am I keen on Milwaukee (sister brand to AEG) so looks like I'll be heading for Makita.

      Have a look at the prices of Ridgid power tools in the US, they're the same as AEG. The tools can be bought through a store called Home Depot but I'm not sure if they will ship to the UK or not, it's worth having a look anyway

    • @hamishrhodes5108

      All i can say is you wont be disappointed with Makita. I use a large range of their 18v gear and also have a Milwaukee framing nailer and 2nd gen 18ga finisher.
      The only other brand id consider using would be Hikoki and their 36v range at this stage in my career.

    • @SMSCOOBY71

      @@a-carpenter9229 Yeah I considered that but the import duties and taxes make them more expensive than AEG and not a single US carrier service will ship li-ion batteries for security reasons.

    Whoever you borrowed that framing nailer to use while framing are framing up the wall on the outside corner wrong, it's impossible to insulate it from the inside. Have them look up what a California corner is, you make an "L" using two studs and put that in the first wall you frame, it works for backing to screw drywall to on the inside while leaving a pocket open to insulate from the inside. I live in a state where we frame up the walls on the ground, sheath them with plywood and put on the house wrap before standing the walls up, we don't have insulation on the jobsite when framing so the California corner works perfect for this

    • @jsa008
      @jsa008 2 роки тому

      Here in NZ we build our corners like the ones in the vid, a lot of house frames are factory built so this way is easier. The corners are insulated poly before the building wrap/RAB/eco-ply goes on

    So if the air in this nailer isn't used up by driving nails what is it used for?

    • @OZToolTalk
      @OZToolTalk  2 роки тому +3

      I suspect it's used similarly to the way Hikoki and Milwaukee use their gas chambers. The air chamber is compressed by a piston.

    • @interman7715
      @interman7715 2 роки тому +3

      The air would be used in a closed system and the motor pushes the piston against it and acts like a spring ,I would imagine.

    This gun looks great for DIY at home, work a few hours in the morning and then beer and bbq for the rest of the day.
    Paslode will kill it onsite, watching the bro on trusses struggle with this anvil was funny. It's just gonna slow you down and cost you money in the long run. Gas pays for itself when you work fast with a Paslode.

    • @gabrielback5615

      Ive had 2 paslode, 2 dewalts, and now we run 2 Metabos, on top of a dozen different pneumatic (bostich,paslode, the old duo fast ) and The paslode were junk in our climate(mid Alberta Canada. If a tool can't work reliably in freezing temps and down to -25C its a problem. Also they need constant cleaning and care, which employees generally fail at.The Dewalts failed also(the return springs break and misfires were constant). We also deal with a crew who are running the Milwaukee, they are happy with them. Im happy with the Metabo(it can be refilled with the available regulator). We will be getting a Ridgid(AEG) to try out in the spring. All the battery tools need the batteries kept warm.

      Would be great if you could have the battery on your hip with a lead to the gun. Or better yet have half the gun on your hip, particularly the compression action side of things. I just remember some paintball setups work similarly with a CO2 tank on your hip and the hopper of paint / barrel being fed with an air line

    Just got the nailer and this can’t drive a nail into pine 🤣, this thing is a joke which is a shame since some of there other tools are decent.
    Update: So it arrived brand new out of the box with no registrable pressure on my compressor gauge, maybe a compliance thing for transportation of pressurized cylinders? Idk but after a getting 120psi into the gun it shot 88mm brights into hardwood so I’ll give it that it has some power, My daily will still be the Hikoki, the Milwaukee is a decent gun but if your going battery from gas Hikoki is the best choice as it’s by far the most balanced gun (heavy like all of them) but easily the most balanced gun Milwaukee and AEG are so nose heavy it ridiculous
