- In 2022 Ultra Cyclist Jack Thompson embarked on the impossible … To Everest once a week for an entire year (52 Everests on 52 different roads), climb a total of 1,000,000 metres of elevation and raise $1,000,000 for three charities.
Jack broke the Everesting World Record as part of his 1,000,000: A Space Odyssey Project, climbed all 1,000,000m and learned a hell of a lot about himself while raising $500,000 for charity.
'Rising Up' is a film of resilience, strength and overcoming adversity, it will inspire you to set your next crazy goal and then go about achieving it.

As someone that has had the black dog chase them for 40 years I just want to thank you for your efforts in bringing mental health discussions to the forefront. You are inspiring Jack and although i think even 1 Everest is beyond me, you have put a spark in the back of my mind to see just what I can achieve. Chapeaux mate.

after an avarage 4000 km/y in 2020 I've decided to spend some more time on my gravel bike and double the distance. august came and the 8k was done. I felt great but wrecked at the same time. Than I looked back and realized it was my best year since childhood.. so I took the effort and continued riding untill december. I remember that the second part was emitionaly intense. Did not managed to double the already doubled distance but the final stats were way over I tought I could manage a year.. 13.5k with almost 130000m of elevation. we could talk a lot about inspiration, but first time in my life I felt inspired by myself. Jack is responsible for that
As I reflect on Rising Up - An Everesting World Record Film, I am reminded of a quote by Helen Keller: "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." You have not only helped me see the light but have also ignited a vision within me, a vision of a future filled with hope, purpose, and endless possibilities.

I was waiting for this. I have been following you since your Taiwan days when I had just got into cycling. You motivated me to ride more. Cycling fixed my anxiety attacks except when I took part in Ironman and during swim felt like I'll get a panic attack. But it did not happen. Can't thank you enough.

I say that was efing good. I am a lifelong cyclist who dabbled in ultra. There is so much glory in the Tour, that everything else is proportionally and inaccurately diminished. This, my friend, is (my opinion) one of the great cycling accomplishments, really, beyond my ability to conceive. I also appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. I think my mental state is similar to yours. I like to say there's "just" some very, very sensitive neural paths our minds have to navigate.

A true inspiration. Chapeau what an amazing effort. I love cycling, not the best at climbing but I yearn to try an Everesting. The sense of achievement must be an amazing feeling. Unfortunately, the negatives in my mind keep telling me I'm incapable of doing it 😕
