Her harsh vocals are influenced by Neige from Alcest. In fact, her entire sound is influenced by Alcest.
In case it wadn't obvious, she is hugely inspired by Alcest. She's Norwegian/American but the rest of the band is French, so that's why they go for the shoegaze/black metal sound. They're really cool live, and she is a so lovely in person too Those screams are always brilliant when people see them for the first time.

To be perfectly honest, I just recently discovered this artist. I've only listened to a selection of her songs thus far, but it's good! And from what I can gather, on the studio recordings she does all the instruments except for the drums! I don't know whether the rest of the guys there are musicians she normally has with her when playing live, or if they were just there for that show, but they rocked!
And I agree, the more "in the background" vocals makes brings to front the rest of the song, and it makes the whole vibe of it become more important. I feel like it's music that I can *easily* listen to and enjoy while even talking or writing, whereas most other music would instead fight for the attention of the language center of my brain! xD
Saw her live in November last year. She has a whole band who plays with her on tour. Got to meet her as well I was hella nervous. She’s a kind soul ✌🏼🖤
I think I read somewhere that Neige plays (or played?) drums on her albums.

Neige played live drums on her first gig in Romania, he also played drums for 2 of her albums in the studio (as well as Kathryn's father who is also a drummer), and Neige also co-wrote a couple of songs with her.

she is the best artist i know. she has a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques and is a classicaly trained soprano. absolute unrivaled vocal powerhouse!
