Funny I randomly had bilmuri pop up as a recommended concert on UA-cam about a month ago and clicked it. They’re pretty damn good
I love seeing the transition people have from not liking metal at all, to liking metal but not the lyrics, to eventually craving the screams and growls. Once you get used to harsh vocals, regular clean poppy vocals just don't do it anymore haha

The point of the video is to show actual metal bands to people who dislike the genre.
That means Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, Candlemass, Manowar etc and not djent & core.
Bilmuri is such a fun gateway artist. Most of his stuff you can play for just about anyone and they'll have a good time but every now and then he'll throw down and get a little heavy and it's always fun to see how people react to that
I would love you to include some Electric Callboy. Just recently been on a concert of theirs and the amount of moms going there with their kids was crazy. It´s a really good entrance into the metal world in my opinion. Hell, even the girlfriend of my best friend and her best friend joined us for the concert and they listen to hardstyle. They absolutely loved it and they ask for EC in the car now. Slowly transitioning into We Butter The Bread With Butter (because we are from germany and they sing in german, makes understanding it a bit easier) and some newer Architects mixed in. Works great 😀

Also only a tourist would say genres don't matter because last time I checked, there's distinct variations both musically and ideologically between a thrash metal band like Kreator and a power metal band like Blind Guardian.
Heck even within say death metal, there's distinct stylistic approachea between a band like Suffocation and Atheist.
When I introduce a genre, I start with the progenitor not a goddamn harcore punk offshoot that started with Botch and Integrity.
No wonder non-fans think all metal is just screaming when all you lot ever do is put them on HARDCORE bands.
Maaaan Bilmuri came on and I instinctively went "Woo!" it's drilled in!

I love what they said about how metal is full of feelings. One of the things that drew me to metal and heavy music was the focus sooo many bands seem to have on confronting emotions. It's often hidden underneath metaphor, but it definitely makes the genre special.
Seeing these people go from “what is this” to “I actually kind of like this” is incredible 🤣 keep it up y’all 🎉

Stoked to see my friends in The Ongoing Concept made it lol. I grew up with them in small town north Idaho and my old bands used to play shows with them all the time for years. First time I met them was our high school battle of the bands soooo long ago lol. Then Dawson ended up recording and producing some music for my old band.
Would love to see some polaris, currents and alpha wolf on hear and also some shadow of intent for heavier stuff

Its fascinating watching these videos and realising how lyric focused a lot of people are, even with clean vocals I'm more interested in the delivery and performance than the lyrical content
I love how I’ve been a Metalhead most of my life and I’m still finding new bands, that’s why I love metal it seems like it’s getting better and better
I love that they keep talking about how much emotion and feeling there is in the music.
This music exists because it's an outlet for people to express the depths of their souls.

I love these videos and love that you showed them a few less extreme/heavy songs this time as well. It kind of hurt me when they questioned whether Memories by Dreamwake was Metal because it wasn't heavy enough? Like ... the really heavy stuff is such a small cross section of Metal as a whole, nobody should think that's all there is.

Dreamwake is probably my favorite band recently. I can never imagine adding Sax to metal. But they nailed it so perfectly.

I love these videos so much haha. I do want to list some recommendations though just from my tastes and opinions. I think there’s been one video with Spiritbox and Sleep Token and possibly Imminence but those 3 bands I think are perfect “gateway” bands if you wanna put it that way. they bring the heavies, a softer side and genre bending. such talented groups. and then just some other mentions but I think these would be good choices too: Electric Callboy, Bad Omens, Ice Nine Kills, Invent Animate, The Plot in You, Bring Me The Horizon, Unprocessed and Silent Planet. hell, add in some Harper to see the talent of this little 12 year old badass.
Respect to these girls for being so open to this experience and being honest!

Hey for the country lovers you can always show them Home Team by Lakeview. It's modern country but with a touch of 2000s metalcore and modern rock. Not usually my cup or tea listening to stuff like Cattle Decapitation, Knocked Loose, Kublai Khan TX etc but I love that damn song.

I am just convinced 90% people who say they 'hate/ don't like metal' never actually listened to any metal songs. Every time I watch people's first reaction to metal, it always end with them realising they actually think metal is kind of cool.

I wanna see reactors who know nothing of metal go down the journey of exploring every genre, especially from first to newest. Not just this channel, but many. There is melodic metal as well (classic metal, glam, progressive metal, power/symphonic/gothic metal genres, some thrash and alternative metal). I wanna ease people into "the dark side."

War of Ages band members seemed real nice when I met them a 7-8 years ago at a concert of theirs.
