It's kinda ironic cause while the sentiment of the album is about a breakup, the larger picture is about the Fridging trope in fiction. The Willing Well suite is all about a writer's descent into madness, traveling into the fictional world he's created in order to kill his protagonist's love interest to further the plot development.

Damn, I never heard this before and I'm high AF so that was a tryp. Very big change but they kind of nailed it.

that "eerie, slow, somber" style of deftones in this song reminds me a lot of Change(In the house of flies) by them, as well. That slow, almost mournful guitar riff in both these songs, really is sort of their trademark. melodic complexity and dissonance. Really, really good stuff that I feel no other band does, quite like they do.
