- The Rise Of Skywalker is only a few months away. Star Wars theories are running rampant. Id like to present what I think will happen at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. This theory is based on the idea that JJ Abrams is using some of George Lucas's old ideas and repurposing them in a new way to close out the Skywalker Saga. This might sound wild. But, I included an early draft of Return Of The Jedi in my edit which also shows Ben Kenobi as alive in the flesh. Enjoy!

Wouldn't it undermine the story of episodes I - VI? I mean, JJ promised a conclusion to the saga as a whole, this would kinda have done the opposite.
@@SVOKRAplays you have a point but it wasn't always sure who is the Chosen One. At first it was Anakin but then it was Luke. So it wasn't really clear and yeah, you had peace with Vader's sacrifice but it wasn't for long and Palpatine is still there.
I'm just saying that I love the idea with light and dark facing the greatest evil like JJ said. And wouldn't it be perfect if Kylo and Rey finish Sidious with Anakin & Luke at their side?
It's just my theory and we just have to wait and see the movie.

I love it!!! This makes me think that the final scene in the trailer where we see Rey (with the voiceovers of Luke and Leia) could be a parallel to Rey being Belle in Beauty and the Beast. To further clarify, Rey is watching the transformation of Kylo Ren into Ben Solo or Ben Solo being resurrected as it were.
I love this theory! I want Kylo Ren to live through Episode 9 so he can continue the Skywalker and Solo bloodlines. If he has to be resurrected to make this happen, I'm all for it.
Love this! Sounds so much better than Luke and Leia battling Palpatine after Ben dit’s! Every time I think of a possible resurrection sequence, it makes me think of the Mortis Arc from TCW. I could see Rey being involved in this sequence as well as part of the living conduit for the cosmic Force to flow through with Luke and Leia’s help. In this way, all the people that love Ben Solo will bring him back and save what they love. What a great bookend to the Skywalker saga!
Regarding the recent leaks, so many of them seem so ridiculous. What if Disney is just messing with us and releasing false leaks and then when we get to the movie it’s completely different than what everyone thinks? I think that would be awesome! 😆
I'll put it this way about the leaks. I think there is a bit of truth in most of it. I don't think the netherworld battle would really work TBH. But we shall see.
AT-AT Chat there’s a lot of it I don’t particularly like. Such as Rey’s lineage and I just can’t see Ben teaming up with Palpatine. Just don’t know why he would do that and take on another master when he just overthrew the last one. Sounds fishy to me.

This is a very interesting thought, although I can’t help but wonder what Rey’s role in this would be...
Do you see her having a part to play in this at all, and if so, how important a role do you think she’d have?
Personally I’d love to see her have some role in this, even if it’s simply as inspiration/*motivation* (thinking back to that line in TFA...) for him to return back to life, and everything that comes with it, and leave the peace and escape of the other side to rejoin her and the others, similar to how Harry decided to return to the pain of the living world to help and save the ones he loved.
I can see a lot of parallels between this theory and Harry Potter. I loved the symbolism and philosophy behind Harry’s decision, and it would be wonderful to see the same sentiment show itself in TROS, albeit in its own way.

Nice! Even if this doesn't happen, it's still much more plausible than whatever poorly thought out 'leaks' people are concocting. Whatever happens, it's gotta be beautiful and moving.
I love this idea! I truly think that finally destroying Palpatine should be Ben and Rey’s job. This is their fight. The fight of their generation. Any of the original trilogy characters killing the big bad would undermine the Hero’s Journey for this current generation. But having Luke and Leia play some role in resurrecting, Ben after he made the ultimate sacrifice, in a show of unconditional love for both Rey and the Galaxy at large, world be perfect IMO. And it would show Ben how much his family truly loved him.
If I were going to recommend a fan fiction for any fan of the Sequel Trilogy, regardless of whether they typically read fan fiction or not, it would be You’ll be the One to Turn by postedbygaslight found at AO3. It is an extremely well written version of what Episode IX could be. And it includes a scene with Ben and Luke in the spiritual realm, after Ben has died in a heroic sacrifice. And even knowing that in advance, I dare anyone to read it with a dry eyes. It was written shortly after TLJ and well worth the read.

Love this theory! Here is a thought I've had. If Ben dies, what if we get a sequence where in the Netherworld were instead of all the ghosts of the Jedi, it's just Anakin. He will be able to impart his story to Ben and reflect on how his possessive nature cost him what he loved. Anakin would then give his cosmic energy to resurrect Ben and fade away into nothingness with Padme. Ben could then rise and through Anakin's help finally end Palpatine. The prophecy of the chosen one fulfilled and a technical Rise of Skywalker.

He's got such an idea about who Anakin was in the form of Vader that I feel like a really great character moment for him would be to learn who Anakin really was. It's one of my biggest hopes for Ben's arc in IX. If they manage to give us a scene with Adam Driver and Hayden Christensen in the film... MAN. I'd just be so happy!

1. Do you think there is any possibility of it becoming your favourite Star Wars film?
2. How long do you think it will have to be to tie up the sequel trilogy and saga as a whole?
3. Do you think that it will make $1Billion at the worldwide box office?
4. What singular thing do you NOT want to happen in The Rise of Skywalker? (The movie itself, not anything from the fandom menace, because they'll just ruin it for themselves and others anyway)

1-It is certainly possible, though i don't have favourite SW movies. I just really like the OT and really enjoying the sequel trilogy (so far). So, i'd say, Rise of Skywalker can put this sequel trilogy in the same place the OT is (for me).
2-I believe the next movie will tie up everything. Hopefully, it would tie up the overarching themes and conflicts; i don't care much about plot or lore specifics: i care about Luke, Han, Leia, Rey, Kylo Ren, Vader, etc. The characters as agents of their own story (not their bloodline or how they are destined by the force of whatever, or clever connections that answer lore questions). I don't care if suppossedly important things to the lore aren't even mentioned.
3- Yes. (but don't know about that stuff)
4-Don´t want: Chosen ones, Clones, Palpatine lives, retcons related to fan backlash (i don't think it will happen anyways, they seem happy with TLJ and TFA), very long exposition dialogues, lack of adventure and fun, a movie that is not meant for mostly kids and all audiences.
1. I think thats always a possibility with me.
2. In my opinion, it needs to be at least 2 hours and 15 minutes of actual movie. A lot can be done in that time frame, and we are talking about JJ Abrams pacing. However, I think for a very fulfilling end to this gigantic story, id prefer 180minutes of movie. Make each act feel like its own film.
3. I have no doubt this will make 1b. More? Maybe.
4. If this movie kills off Ben Solo for good over saving him I think the entire point of the ST would be fundamentally destroyed.

I thought TLJ would be my favourite based on the trailers and when it came out... it was, and then it slid back to second place... after TESB.
For me, I would say that it should be about 2h40mins (including credits) While I like The Force Awakens and LOVE The Last Jedi, I think JJ shot RJ in the foot by basically making TLJ have to start immediately after TFA. So I think that 2h40 will be enough to wrap up everything nicely. (for reference... TFA is 2h7mins without credits and TLJ is about 2h24mins) so assuming theres about 10mins of credits for TROS... I think it should have about 2h30mins, but you know I'ma stay back for ma boi John Williams. and I won't complain if its longer
I think It will make between 800mil and 1.6bil (a wide gap I know, but still)
For me... if R2, 3PO or Chewie die... I'm going to sue Disney for emotional distraught. (jk but please don't)
I wouldn't be too mad about Kylo dying as long as it is self sacrificial but I understand what you're saying. I do kinda want a dark ending though but there's a 0% chance of that.

Is it just me or does it seem like Star Wars is the only franchise with the only fandom that is so obsessed with theories and they get so attached to the most darnest of things that if none of them happen it’s the end of the world
I'm gonna guess you weren't involved in the Harry Potter fandom in the years when the last 3 books were being released. It's definitely not unique to Star Wars.

Great video as always! Of course none of us know the particulars of how the story will end. But I think what you are proposing here is totally in line with the direction I believe the story is going. I had a lengthy Twitter conversation last night with someone I have known from a another fandom and it really is amazing how the perspective on where this story is going differs depending on if you are a fan of TLJ or not. Sequel Trilogy fans seem to get that this is a story based on love, family and redemption. And how they are tying the entire saga together. While those who in particular didn’t like TLJ are still hung up on Rey’s lineage, her Force abilities, how Disney ruined Star Wars, and now whether Rey is a clone of Palpatine. I’m glad I’m in the first group!

I'm thinking that Rise of Skywalker will have a duel meaning. It will mean Kylo's rise/redemption arc will be at the forefront and at the same time the new order that will be created by Rey to replace the fallen jedi order will also be known as Skywalker.
I would love if the final battle scene will be the Jedi force ghosts to appear some how to help the Resistance also the remaining Characters who survived the Timeline maybe the Ghost Crew,Zay Versio,Ashoka Tano,Kylo Ren joined the Resistance to defeat the emperor,The First Order and The Knights of Ren
This sounds very interesting, I am not sure if they will make such a complex scene in the end, but I can't wait to see how they handle in in the movie. I expect it to be a bit simpler on the surface and easy for younger kinds to understand, but I agree with your concept :)

hey there, ATAT Chat. i just wanted say that you put out a wonderful video on the possible ending of TROS and i think your theory would be a fantastic way to end the trilogy along with the whole saga. Now, i dont know how the movie is going to end but it just makes sense to me thart ben is redeemed and is living and breathing.

I think there will be a big expansion of the lore, and an ending that relates the three trilogies. The saga is about its characters: not in a bloodline or destiny sense, but in the sense that we followed their adventure: we escaped from the empire with them, we blowed death stars, we cried, we learned, etc...
I believe they will use this idea that i heard it was on the new thrawn books: the Thrawn species (the Chiss) used some kid force users to navigate in hyperspace; because they had a sort of precognition that allowed them to dodge objects in hyperspace, this is why they could travel through the unknown regions, unlike the republic or the empire. These kids were called sky-walkers.
I believe in the ending chapter they will address the unknown regions, they will also address the fact that the first order used new tech that worked in hyperspace (starkiller beams travelled through hyperspace, hyperspace tracker tracked through hyperspace); and they will do a small (but needed) retcon in which anakin skywalker (or his mother) got the surname from an ability, and not bloodline (insert a story here: maybe anakin had a father, maybe shmi was a sky walker that was thrown to tatooine, whatever). The thing is that anakin was not created by the force, nor palpatine, nor plagueis; and he wasn't a space jesus destined to anything: he
(or his mother) was just a sky-walker, that was thrown and left behind in Tatooine (because reasons, maybe some species didn't like sky-walkers so they exiliated them from their civilization), like Rey in Jakku.
So, now the rise of skywalker: is not the rise of a bloodline, nor a replacement name for the jedi; is an abilty that many kids thoughout the galaxy have. Like: if you film movies, you are a film maker, if you can travel through the skies, you are a skywalker.
Rey may say: "i am a skywalker, like Leia, Ben, Luke and his father before him".
They were just kids that made their way in the galaxy as they could. (The kid with the broom, that watched the sky in the end of the last jedi, is a potential sky-walker).
I personally don't think they (the filmmakers) should mess with resurrections and stuff.
If the emperor reapears in some sort, it is to remind us that he really just knew about these sky-walkers and their potential, while the jedi didn't: so all the speculation about the profecy, destiny, a kid made be the force; was just them trying to resolve something they could not understand: the emperor just saw the potential and went along with it. (This may be related in why in the expanded universe, Palpatine is obsessed with the unknown regions).
I think it is a fitting ending that skywalker is more than a name, and is more than an obsession with power, and it is a way to get out of this "royalty bloodline privilege".
This is the only speculation i would be happy to actually see. If not, i hope it is something truly unexpected, even if dumb, over the top and unrelated to anything.
I'm gonna need Luke to bring me back to life after this movie.

George Lucas always said that the story was about the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker is that person so he alone, and no one else, should be the one to destroy Palpatine.

I like this theory a lot. Mine was Ray would save him but I like this a lot better and I think it would satisfy a lot of people for Luke specially but also for Leah to save Ben. That makes a lot of sense.👍

Ok so, I think you're.... probably at least 60% of the way there, maybe even 80%. But the one huge gaping hole in your theory is.... where is Rey? I mean, yes, your theory would bring all the themes of Star Wars full-circle, IF Rey were not the main character of the Sequel Trilogy. In this scenario, she would be only a spectator to Skywalker family drama rather than a participant, and that doesn't make sense. If that were the case, Rey's perspective would not be the primary POV of the trilogy; it would be Luke or Leia.
You referenced Rose's wonderful line from the end of TLJ. Note that it was said right after she saved Finn with her own act of self-sacrifice. Lacking any family after the death of her sister, she rescued the one person she had become closest to in her grief and loneliness. This absolutely seems to foreshadow a similar rescue of Ben by Rey. This is not to say that Luke and/or Leia would not be involved in the resurrection, only that Rey's role in the raising of Ben Solo must be explicit and at least as significant as the twins'. After all, that would be the final victory of the main protagonist.

So I think Rey is the one who makes him want to turn, ultimately leading him towards his own redemption. That's the "how we get to this moment". I don't really see Rey healing Ben from death unless she has one of those healing kyber crystals or something to that effect.
I think Rey will be there/ present but heartbroken over what occurred, when Luke/ Leia come in for the save.
But again, just my silly Theory! If I had more time I'd probably try to think of a reasonable way Rey would be involved.
I also can't count out Rey helping Leia and Luke at the same time. But then I think that opens another "what about this" which is are all the force ghosts helping as well?

@@mlrafiki I actually believe in my heart of hearts that Hayden will be in this in some way. It feels right to me. Honestly, you know I know a few things, but nothing about Hayden, but I think people's hearts will hurt from goodness at the end of this movie. I'm not going to say what I just learned, but it made me a little chocked up and has nothing to do with any of the above.
