D, Amandla Steinberg can't act, is evil in the show and real life, and most important of all, E, this has to be, I really believe has to be, a money laundering scheme. Other than that, I really can't see how the show can be this cheap, yet costs so much.

I just think the prequels are ok and you do realize that Disney, both with their "sequels" & The Acolyte, are insulting the OG trilogy too, right? The nonsense they made The Force into is obvious on all fronts. Just because YOU hate the prequels doesn't give you the right to call those that do "not real fans", especially when you're acting exactly like the toxic extremists that idiot Ryan Johnson whined about.
@@mercerfrey6392 1. No hostility, but the prequels factually have more problems with them than anything else in star wars. They have many errors that don't align with the previously established canon. The prequels RUINED the force and made it into stupid midichlorians. That was the day star wars died for many fans because the force was better without an explanation. There's way more stuff, obi wan says Yoda was his master yet in the prequels, Yoda is more of a boss of the Jedi council. He doesn't have any Padawans. It was George making shit up and trying to sell toys. 2. Never said I hated the prequels. I love the prequels. I'm just pointing out the stupid shit that we now let slide when at first we didn't. The only reason you even think the prequels are ok is because you don't like Disney star wars. If Disney star wars hadn't come out, you'd be one of those toxic fans begging George to sell the franchise. 3. Anyone who says Disney star wars doesn't respect the og trilogy is an idiot. They don't understand star wars and I don't believe they even watched the og trilogy. Most prequel fans think revenge of the sith is a masterpiece and the best star wars movie, with that type of thinking, it just shows you don't have respect for the og trilogy. You like star wars because of cool action. Stop trying act like you like the lore because Disney added way more to the lore than George ever did. Tell me, what did Anakin learn from obi wan? You can't tell me anything because we aren't shown what Anakin is taught or any training. We see both Luke and Rey train with a master and see what lessons they were taught. That makes them relatable. Anakin isn't relatable. He's stupid, entitled, creepy, and resentful. The prequels legit ruin star wars because it botched Vader's backstory. Now most of us "real" fans have to deal with a bunch of plot holes in the og trilogy that were made by the prequels. Again, I don't hate the prequels. I'm just saying you can't complain about bad writing or acting then turn around and say revenge of the sith is a good movie. That's like saying you hate nasty food but still eat shit. It's inconsistent. Why are you giving revenge of the sith such leeway when you wouldn't give it to the sequels? It's like you folks hate on any new idea Disney has when I can think of literally dozens of plot holes and bad ideas in the prequels but again, you don't really care about story. It's just the action.

There was a UA-cam critic, who said he thinks it’s made for young kids not us Original Fans sadly. He made some interesting points, and mentioned his youngest (I think) was enjoying the show while one of his older kids had no interest. Idk it’s a terrible show either way and I don’t intend on watching it anymore to check his point anyway 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
They had so many plans for continuation of Kenobi. Well, Reva one Kenobi to be more specific. But after the show was trashed by fans, the plans were ended. The actor, Ewan, made a video telling fans to keep asking Disney for more if they want a second season. I laughed. Like, what fans, what show, this hubris was hated by anyone who managed to sit through kid actor scene and Ingram's wooden face.
Back in May that bint headlamp said “The Acolyte Will Be Free From Star Wars Film and TV Show Cameos” it seems the lack of any creative talent became so apparent in desperation they turned to stealing dialogues from the OT and also bastardising beloved characters created by George. Ay carumba 🤦🏾

One thing that really bothers me about the whole “painting the person a different colour” thing is, especially with the green woman - her inner flesh, such as her eye tissue and inner gums, are still a normal pink? If she’s truly alien, couldn’t they at least add a bit of VFX to change it to something more fitting like blue??? The contrast just makes it look so cheap as-is.
18:30 not only is it ridiculous that the seatbelt saves her in a spaceship crash. but when she wakes up she's no longer even strapped into the seat. meaning she must have been flung out of the seatbelt in the crash. so she should probably have some broken bones at the very least. possible head trauma since she was knocked unconscious somehow, which doesn't just happen. people don't get in a car crash, get saved by their seatbelt and just lose consciousness for no reason. the writing in this show is seriously bizarre. its like its written by someone who has lived in a bubble their whole life and don't know how basic things work.
Glad I avoided this trash show. I refuse to even pirate or hate-watch it. I have been a Star Wars fan since childhood in Nigeria and I refuse to waste more time on disney star wars. I am done with toxic identity politics, garbage writing and antagonism towards fans. I will content myself with Lucas era shows and movies, like Clone Wars, and the EU books I am currently buying. And games like KOTOR and Fallen Order. There is a lot of good Star Wars out there, even before I was born, and I would rather enjoy that instead
With modern shows, if a character is a black woman, you can guarantee at the end she will be not a bad person but rather a wronged misunderstood person who did a couple of mistakes (like strangling her foster father) and is the one a viewer should root for. I can imagine Leslie watching the scene in episode 8 where sisters hug, and I can see her be like "this is so sweet, my poor babies." This is more than just wrong. Someone who has this way of thinking very possibly suffers from a condition when they no longer understand and feel human emotions. They are Frankenstein monsters born of Hollywood.
Actually, yes. Hollywood is overrun with narcissists - an overused word but it accurately describes what you're talking about. A lack of empathy, self-centred, manipulative, predatory, sees the world in black and white, us vs. them; self-righteous, hostile, superficial, creates a facade of morality and superiority while being morally bankrupt underneath. Etc, etc, etc. Personality disorders explain so much of Hollywood, and people in power in general.
12:46 the problem with this is when venestra comes to the site and is looking at the bodies, we hear echoes of what happened so I’m guessing she knew what happened? But no context in this show is given at all. We still don’t know the rules, limitations of the force according to this show. We don’t know if venestra only heard what happened or if she can see it too. I wish this was based off a book. Not sure if I can handle another season being more confused after watching than from the start.
there are several intelligent and funny and highly entertaining commentators on youtube these days. you're certainly amongst them. Tho i'd confidently say you have a much better understanding of the bigger picture than most of them. You've clearly educated yourself on the who's, what's, how's, and why's of the occultist marxists You don't ask inane rhetorical questions like: "when is Disney going to figure out that people don't like this?" or "Don't they know going Woke is going Broke?"
Jonny Mootash! I’m worried about Yoda. If they follow up on that tease scene between Yoda & that green, Bad Actor chick, then it’s more than likely that they’ll destroy the one who is the only character left from the originals that they haven’t had to destroy. He’s all we have left.
For something which aspires to be so novel and a “new take on Star Wars,” they really do seem to be trodding the same ground as before, but this time SIDEWAYS! The notion that there’s no good and evil in Star Wars is wrong, but the notion of a deluded Jedi doing the work of a corrupt system is Day 1 prequels, that the choices a Jedi makes in good faith can inch them toward evil is Anakin’s story and also Luke’s, though he perseveres (disregarding the sequels), and that the Jedi are to a large degree are where sith are recruited, like Dukku. It’s the being themselves which are flawed, not “good and evil” and not the Force. As for this modern Star Wars, the singular issue, to my view, aside from bad writing, is this desire by the producers to “educate” with the material. Using these stories to show the viewer lessons like “girls can be competent,” or “what if the hero is gay??” are all so hamfisted and arrogant. It implies not just that the writers are appropriately “educators” about something, but that the audience is ignorant. If not ignorant, then slavishly interested only in seeing themselves “represented” in a story set in the distant past of a literal other galaxy. These are not earthlings and it is nearly completely inappropriate to meddle with these modern legends and myths to advance some agenda to reflect this moment in time, thereby instantly dating it. We wouldn’t ask that Arthurian legend be retold so that Gawain was Native American and it was really Guinevere who drew the sword from the stone, but now it’s Rey who defeated the Emperor. Okay… The writers and producers and Disney as a whole seem dead-set to destroy this thing they find so abhorrently “male” or “Lucas” and it’s tough to witness. I so dearly wish that the entirety of LucasFilm be ejected and in 5 years time restarted with careful stewards.
Disney brigading has been a thing for awhile. The ones who actually post in critics' comments say almost the exact same things : "Old crybaby SW fans" or "Grifters" is their staple. Almost as if they got their comebacks from the same source.
20:30 the story they use to coverup the corruption is even worse than the original corruption. They could have just blamed it all on an "Unknown sith", instead they made it so a high ranking jedi just murders a dozen other jedi to cover up murdering a whole group of random aliens... seemingly for no reason.
Excellent work Johny! Always hits good and tastefully executed. If i can leave a to my fellow Star Wars fans is, Just like Johny said, just because it’s SW logo is on it. Doesn’t mean it is. It would really be nice that productions like this HAVE to show the positions where the money went into, you know by law, so that we understand what is going on. At this point the episodes are looking more like a fan project, made with very little money.

How dare they introduce Plaguies and show Master Yoda, how dare they! "May the Force be with us"
I think we are talking around the issue of why it does not look good: DIGITAL FILM-MAKING. Digital cameras, digital sets, and plastic replacing metal surfaces wherever possible. The thing that really stands out is the lightsabers themselves, as they are coloured from tip to bottom. IF you have a lightsaber, the way it should be coloured is the centre is white, and the outside 'glow' is the colour you want it to be, but their lightsabers look like plastic glow-sticks, that do not glow. This is cheapness, and I suspect they gave a lot of the money to the people running the show, instead of putting the money in front of the camera. God, I really miss celluloid photo-chemical film production and optical effects...they truly always looked odd, uncanny, weird and ethereal - unlike this show (and post GL Star Wars) where the lightsabers look like toy glow-sticks.
It seems Disney values their immediate power and reach to peddle ideas over success of their company. Bit odd that. Bit odd that its part of their mission to take great works of art (even their own) and deface them or spit on them. They want us to think its "new and fun" but it feels kinda wrong... almost evil even. Self-destructive at the very least.
Alright, so let’s be clear on one thing about Star Wars. The Jedi have been depicted as “corrupt” in the past. But that being “corrupt” was usually some mix of misinterpretation due to the Jedi order not being able to pay attention to a side character that subsequently became someone who would get angry and turn evil, or a literal misguidance because of the plots of Sidious. Acolyte can barely claim that first one I guess??? But the second one is completely out of reach for the show given the time it takes place in. So the entire theme of the show of calling the Jedi “corrupt” is not even accurate historically, especially considering there’s no real reason to call the Jedi corrupt in a time of what was mostly peace where the Sith War didn’t quite exist AND Jedi wouldn’t have been sent on petty crime stopping missions or anything else, because yeah, it’s a religion. Also anything that has come out of the mouths of the people involved in making this show has been plane disappointing. Disney, what have you done to my boy…
first season of GoT cost 5-6 million per episode, absolutely insane how disney burned through so much money and get the acolyte as a result, if they stick to their path they deserve to go bancrupt, sadly capitalism doesnt work that way if you reach a certain amount of market share.
So I am pretty sure that Headlund is trying to reference Count Dooku's sentiments about Master Yoda: that he is the problem, being a centuries old Jedi that has become corrupt by politics/can't see corruption anymore, with having Master Pickle Rick cover up corruption and then that last shot of him, because we never hear about this in later media, so "covering up corruption" still works. Doesn't make it good, but it's there. However, that book with the statement from Dooku isn't canon anymore, according to Disney, but they pilfer from EU material as they see fit, so... Jonny, will we get an update on your abs with every upload now?
Not only 20+ million per episode, but aren't the episodes notoriously short as well...so really, for 30 minutes of television..I cant imagine credits and intro are that expensive since it should be copy and paste
I'll happily watch the Holiday Special on repeat, for the runtime of the entire Acolyte series if the choice is between that or watching an hour of the Acolyte.
Also, I painted my cousin green for the Renaissance Festival back in... like... 2010-ish... so she could be an orc... not to toot my own horn but I did a better job on her makeup than the Acolyte did on the gender-swap, Dollar-Tree, Shrek.

B, the Sith are still evil and nothing sympathetic about anything. C, that her wife can't act and if she were not a Nepo baby, or in this case, a Nepo cucumber, she would have never gotten the role. D, Amandla Steinberg can't act, is evil in the show and real life, and most important of all, E, this has to be, I really believe has to be, a money laundering scheme. Other than that, I really can't see how the show can be this cheap, yet costs so much.
You forgot F actively tries to retcon the prequels in such a way it completely breaks EVERYTHING about The Force more than The Rise of Skywalker and Rey Palpatine ever did... HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!!?
@@mercerfrey6392the prequels suck. Who gives a shit? The PREQUELS actively shat on the lore of the og trilogy. So I'd rathsr have disney respect the og trikogy than cater to some toxic prequel fans who only like star wars because of light sabers. If you actually regard the prequels as good movies, you gave bo respect for the og trilogy and aren't a star wars fan
How is Amanda steinberg a bad actor? She was great in bodies bodies bodies. And she was great in this show. Yall just dont like ger because she called out a bunch of racist fanboys. You losers arent getting star wars back. Its our franchise. This a black franchise now bitches, and we aint given it back. Next up, lord of the rings.
@@mania4270 dude, chill! What's up with the extreme hostility?
I've heard they spent the money on 5 Star hotels and Michelin restaurants for the crew. It was a long running extravagant party. The Disney way.
Makes sense. They had to waste the money on something because it sure wasn't on the production itself.
Why can't females handle money? It like "wow, how can I spend all this money on things that I shouldn't spend it on!"

I just don't understand who their target audience is for this show. As an old school Star Wars fan I don't feel like it's for me.
It's an attempted replacement of the fanbase, a great reset 😏...And it's failing miserably 😆
As a woman, I don't know either. The overt feminism in American productions is painful to say the least.
As a relatively new Star Wars fan, I can tell you it ain't for me either. I've been watching Star Wars since the mid 2000s as a kid in Nigeria and I don't care for this slop. I'll stick with Lucas era shows and movies and EU novels I have been buying.

That one sentence "The more Star Wars the better" sums up the fundamentally wrong assumption by Disney. No, not more quantity. More quality. And quality takes time, research and effort. All things Disney does not understand.

"Star Wars is so much cooler than it used to be 🙃" god that cracked me up 😂
It is. The prequels were considered dog shit. If you had told someone you liked star wars before disney bought it, you likely got bullied in school

Rebels is Disney Star Wars, but it's definitely worth a watch. I think Rebels might have been the first thing out of Disney
With modern shows, if a character is a black woman, you can guarantee at the end she will be not a bad person but rather a wronged misunderstood person who did a couple of mistakes (like strangling her foster father) and is the one a viewer should root for.
I can imagine Leslie watching the scene in episode 8 where sisters hug, and I can see her be like "this is so sweet, my poor babies."
This is more than just wrong.

I’m worried about Yoda.
If they follow up on that tease scene between Yoda & that green, Bad Actor chick, then it’s more than likely that they’ll destroy the one who is the only character left from the originals that they haven’t had to destroy. He’s all we have left.
Remember, the Acolyte has a budget of a 180million USD. A 180million USD. I think that's enough said.
The movie Godzilla Minus One won an Academy Award for VFX and cost less than $15 million to make...
Okay…
The writers and producers and Disney as a whole seem dead-set to destroy this thing they find so abhorrently “male” or “Lucas” and it’s tough to witness. I so dearly wish that the entirety of LucasFilm be ejected and in 5 years time restarted with careful stewards.

20:30 the story they use to coverup the corruption is even worse than the original corruption.
They could have just blamed it all on an "Unknown sith", instead they made it so a high ranking jedi just murders a dozen other jedi to cover up murdering a whole group of random aliens... seemingly for no reason.

15:09 Disney: " it's down there somewhere let me take another look. "
Life Day was in SWTOR game before Disney bought Star Wars. You could get the Robe and Ord in game. Fun facts.
Loving the chair table - classic high price PC on a dank desk taken to a new level
Someday you'll get a nice end table with some wobbly legs to put your pc on instead of some fucking folding chairs.
