im 48 now, i was much younger when this was recorded. i just get really sad that this generation of country performers are gone. as a child in the 70s and teen in the 80s my father worked at an old truck stop out along a highway in Oklahoma, i grew up around that truck stop and mt fathers co workers as well as all the trucking regulars that would always stop in were these people, these old country people. and i didnt really appreciate them then, now i would give anything to still see them around.
Thanks for sharing your memory newwavepop. Is that truck stop still open for business after all these years. I've always heard that truck stops served good food to all the truckers and other customers.
Waylon was a top shelf guy. We miss him here in Arizona. A one of a kind - a man's man. From Coolidge, AZ- The Galloping Goose Bar and KCKY AM Radio, rest in peace 'Ol Hoss!
just fantastic..I miss this...people in front of a camera just being themselves...which is what made them great..nothing contrived just natural talent and charm...goes a long way
What a hoot hearing them talking about approaching the big 6 0. I need to look in the rearview mirror for that. So good to have had these fine gentlemen in my life to enjoy.

You forgot to mention Shel Silverstein. He's one "of the group" bc he wrote those songs. He passed away in 1999, Just 5 months after the album came out. Now it's 2020 and all of them except Bobby Bare have moved on to the great by-and-by...
You are correct. Shel did write those songs and many more during his life time. He also wrote books and received awards for his talents. I didn't mention him because he wasn't mention with my video tapes. Maybe so in small print that I didn't read. Shel definitely deserves credit here. The guys did respect him and gave him credit for writing a lot of there hits. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.

Thank you Jack. Yes, I thought the same thing about Bobby Bare when I heard of Mel's passing. I never did see Mel perform but I did get to see Glen Campbell and some others when we visited Branson, MO in 2002.

Waylon looks younger here than he did when he was in his 40’s! Sobriety over the years was good to his looks.

Shel Silverstein was such a genius talent. Unreal the imagination he had.
Shel Silverstein passed away in 1999,so it definitely wasn't 2000.
Out of this bunch Waylon would be the first to go..
Listen to the masters and son you will learn a thing or two.
Guy Clark would have fit in well on this panel
The good ones seem to die young. Maybe they live too fast. Thanks for your comment.
