Is the Rolex better? Yes, is it 100 times "more watch" and "better" than a Parnis or Bliger? No. In my estimation, no watch is really "worth" more than about $2,000 ish*. Compare something like a Christopher Ward or Ginault or Monta or a top tier Zelos or another high level "microbrand" watch to a "Swiss" luxury watch and the differences melt away in to split hairs. The luxury watches _might_ have more polished bevels and finer brushing but I don't think that makes for a better watch, just a fancier watch. Is there any objective, quantifiable improvement in the movements above a Sellita or a Miyota? Mechanical movements have been around for a few hundred years, how to build them ain't exactly a secret. Rolex doesn't own or invent the fully supported balance bridge, anybody can make a movement just like theirs. No matter how superlatively super chronometer certified the chronometry is, mechanical movements will never be as accurate as a quartz. *This doesn't include truly impressive, actual, high level watch making like minute repeaters, perpetual calendars or grand complications or wild watches from companies like HYT, Jacob & Co, MB&F, Ressence, etc. These are actual luxury, IMO.
I recent bought the Bliger “36”. The watch actually measure just over 37mm. Mine has the nh35 movement. I am very pleased with the watch. The bracelet and the clasp are outstanding for this price point. I’ve had no problems at all with the clasp open/close mechanism. The glide lock system works quite well. One of the best bracelets I’ve seen. My watch is running a consistent +15/day. I may try to regulate it after I give it some more time. The lume is weak but I’m not a lume fanatic. If I want lume I wear my Seiko sbbn031 Tuna - it will light up the room.
I know the Rolex is better, but on this video the Bliger actually looks better than the Rolex. That said, I give credit to Rolex for producing a good copy of the Bliger. Lol.
I have a $12,000 36mm white gold fluted datejust. If you buy a Chinese knock off replica with polished stainless steel, tiny screws on the jubilee bracelet, crystal sapphire lens, with a generic swiss ETA movement, they are virtually the same watch. The generic swiss automatic movement will probably last longer & be cheaper to mantain. The luxury watch industry is a scam.
I have fourteen watches in my collection. Including two Rolex Homages. Until I purchased and began to wear the two homages to the office, I never realized how many times a day I bumped, hit, or scraped a watch. This makes me think I may not be a candidate for the real deal. I think I will keep my money in homages.
Thanks for watching! I get your point but on the other hand I feel watches are meant to be worn no matter their price point. I think scratches and dings, etc. can add character to any watch. My Santos has plenty of scratches on the bezel and I've only worn it lightly! Scratches super easily! But I knew it would happen and wasn't worried about it.
Good review. But in reality that's not a $7,000 Rolex if you were to try to buy it now and you can't it would cost you over $20,000. For a couple of more dollars you can get the pt5000 movement which is a good movement and the watch would be around $100. So for $100 I think it's great compared to 20-something thousand especially in the teal version which I think looks awesome. Ray
The Bliger of course is not going to be as good as the Rolex but you've done a great job showing that Bliger has a lot of good qualities for the price!
Just a respond to the sound of the movement spinning that’s a miyota movement which are super loud. I bought a different bliger with the pt5000 and it’s so smooth as the Rolex. Something to keep in mind nh35 is also pretty loud
That was a really interesting and great review. I have both the Bliger homage and a 1995 Rolex Explorer Ref 14270. I use the Bliger as an everyday watch and the Rolex when I want to treat my self. The Rolex is 36mil. However i have to say that although the Bliger is great, the Rolex for some reason is so much more comfortable to wear. Once it is on after a few minutes you forget you are wearing anything. The weight, the size, the suppleness of the strap and the overall quality of the case and build combine to making it feel like a part of your wrist. I would like to see both on a Timegraph just to complete the comparison. Happy Christmas.
Great show, wouldn’t bother with an audio fix, couldn’t hear it on my phone to be honest. I spent some time saving for the watches I wanted and I found that there’s a real sense of appreciation and respect for the item, whatever it is, when you have a goal and achieve it. An homage watch, and I do have one that I use as a beater/lawn mowing/ditch digging watch and it serves its purpose. Could I wear an homage as a serious watch daily? I don’t think so, that’s just me though. They serve a purpose, like the other fellow said: imagine what a company can do if it can produce such a reasonable copy of a higher end watch if they invested the time and the money in new design items? They could do remarkable things! In my opinion, which is free, and worth exactly what was paid for it....
i don't think anyone would expect the same level of Rolex quality with the BLIGER. Bang per buck the BLIGER wins hands down for me by a significant margin. It's a really nice looking watch on my wrist and it's cheap enough that i don't care if it gets scratched. I paid £65 for mine - NH35/ Sterile version and it is never out of time by more than +3sec/day . I get bored with the watches I wear as there's always something new that I fancy - at the price I paid for the BLIGER , it s a 'throw away' item when that time comes or i move it on.
Good review. Very helpful. They sell this with the PT5000 (ETA 2824 clone) now. And still $100~. So it was an instant buy for me. I actually bought this because on close inspection, it looks different from the Explorer. I got the green dial. I think of it more as a good quality watch for fun and daily carry.
Honestly 100 USD is more than 700 dollars in China so the quality is pretty good from them. They don't have to have a company take all their money and pay for marketing, all the money goes directly to the Chinese. Love em.

The Tisell would appear to be the closest homage to the Explorer but is more expensive than others of a similar ilk. That's my tuppence worth. All the best to you.
I have a Bliger Omega Seamaster homage -pretty good quality and actually keeps good time. But I think at this price point the Pagani Design homages offer slightly better quality for the money (I've got a couple of Pagani Submariner homages).
Great review! I’m trying to decide between the Phylida Explorer (looks like the Bliger, but has 100 meters water resistance; price $75) and the Tisell Explorer (Miyota 9000 series, 100 meters water resistance; price $230). For people who like the Explorer design but don’t want an homage: Traska Summiteer is the way to go!
What you have to ask is, does the Rolex look 100 times better?? I think it may look a dozen times better maybe even a couple dozen times better but 100 times better?? I think if we’re honest no. Not 100 times better. So then you have to ask am I buying a watch to wear everyday or am I buying a heirloom to pass down?? And I haven’t even brought up the cost of servicing the 7k Rolex😱😱🤯😱 but I can guess it will be $1500 easily. Every 5-7 years $1500. For life!!!! Wear or no wear because oils and lubricant dry up after about 7 years. For 1500 you can buy 21 bligers!!! Heck you could smash a couple of bligers just for fun at this ratio. To me if your not buying to pass down why deal with the horrendous cost of high end??? And I am speaking as a Rolex GMT owner just so ya know.
I hear what you're saying my friend! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree with you. I don't think the Rolex is 100x's better necessarily. You definitely are paying for the name too. Congrats on the Rolex GMT, how long have you had it?
Thanks for watching! Hope you can get your grail at some point! Perhaps a good homage in the mean time might hold you over until then. That’s up to you!
Josh! I am playing catch up on my youtube videos to watch but I am so glad you were able to make this video for us to see! I like how this helps settle the argument that homages are 1:1 copies with a different brand slapped on. This shows there are actually quite a number of differences between the cheaper homage options and the real deal. Great vid brother! 😎🍻👍
Smiths and tissell make the best explorer homage. Oh though i hear san martin is releasing a vintage version soon. It will probably be pretty damn good knowing their previous watches.
I think the Bliger is bang for every buck it's atleast 75% of the rolex. 5% loss for the status symbol and 20% loss for finer details and a bit less of the specs.
The Biger would be the perfect watch if only they would fit the brilliant VH31 quartz movement instead of the terrible NH autos. We all know these watches will be discarded as soon as they require any servicing which will almost certainly be in less than 5 years.
Interesting but, since you could probably buy 6 Bligers for what Rolex would charge to service their movements, it us not even an apple's and oranges comparison. More like apples and figs.
😅 Good one! Thanks for watching! Of course it is no competition as far as which is the better watch. The idea of the comparison was to see how close a homage piece comes to the original basically.
@@TheTownWatch I think they got the look down but, the rest seems to be typical low dollar Chinese componets vs. Unobtainum Swiss over-engineering and exclusively. One you will leave to your heirs, the other will be in the trash when it needs to be serviced. Something for everybody I guess.
I mean, u have been constantly saying that there is no comparison between bliger n Rolex. Off course there is no comparison. But if u had made a silent video, both look pretty similar. If i had to go for one of them, i would go for bliger. Man 100 ppl can wear watches in the same price one man would, while the difference is only that much for which u have to go to your table with light n instruments etc.
In my opinion, Bliger wins, let's say €100, I have the same thing on my wrist with a few less or inferior details. Ok I want maximum quality from €100 I get to €300 and I have the maximum. With Rolex you have to add another €5800! No it's not worth it, I'm only buying vanity! Obviously you are free to do so, I keep the €5800 in my pocket
Great review. I think it's obvious from this comparison that the amazing heritage and history of the Bliger shows how far it is ahead of this Rolex that is so obviously copying the wonderful work of the experienced Bliger designers. The technology required to get that easy-remove system on the bracelet screw is probably beyond technology that Rolex can produce, which is surprising given the price of the Rolex. Then we have the SUPERB Miyota movement with non hacking technology compared to the cheap Swiss movement in the Rolex. It's a pity Rolex can't design their own watches and have to copy Bliger.😐
Well your Video is kind of old now l have a San Martin Submariner Homage Date and a Cronos Submariner Homage No date. I have a friend who has a Rolex Submariner ,so l am in the position to compare them. The Cronos is near enough a perfect match with glide lock. If you are going to get a Homage watch if you can afford it get a good Homage watch.
"For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance"; this in response to your "important note". To address the video, apart from the absence of some sharp edges, the Rolex does not come off too well in the final analysis. The Bliger is a bit chunkier, but that says nothing about its build quality. The Rolex has a more refined movement, but is it arguably better? Are a few seconds slow or fast so important? And then there is also the quite subjective "the Rolex feels to be more high quality"? How does that "feel" then? I am not saying I would actually buy the Bliger, but let's face it, the Rolex is sickeningly overpriced. So, rich man, shouldst thou so desire to enter the kingdom of god, swap thy Rolex for a Bliger.
"Each man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God." Sounds as if God is not really averse to someone having a bit of cash.
😁 Glad you read the "important note"! I'm no "rich man" I can tell you that. The Rolex in this video is not mine but I loaned it from a friend. Thanks for watching!
if I had the Rolex I would sell it and buy the Homage then take the profits and do something fun with my family. but this is coming from a poor UA-camr in a third world country hahaha.
Of course the Rolex is overpriced this is the luxury. For exemple Cartier sale a watch baignoire in white gold with quartz movement €30.000.- the price of a car ! The fake is a well made fake but it is a fake. Imagine à copy of a Porsche or Mercedes. The americans people always speaks about prices !! You don't buy a Rolex to have the time better to buy a Casio with the battery wich last 7 years. Ok baby. !!!!
Every time you say "home-azhe" everyone who has an education cringes, and decides to try to find a watch channel with a semi-literate host. It is pronounced "ohmazh". And speak from your diaphragm--you're not justin beiber and we're not thirteen-year old girls.
i cant stand homages. ok, i get it, its for people, who wants to have a rolex watch, but dont have the money and are honest enough not to buy a fake, but why? i mean, the rolex design is, as iconic as it is, boring. its the same, since the dawn of the mankind. I get it, it was originaly a toolwatch and as such, the design of it is highly functional.. but if you realy want a toolwatch, you dont buy a rolex homage with 30 meters of water resistance ;). and imagine, what a company, who is capable to produce a 70 dollar watch with an automatic movement and a bracelet with solid links and endlinks would be capable of, if they put a few bucks into design and then sold, maybe a 80, 90 or 100 dollar watch with an unique desin.
You answered your own question. Most people can't afford a Rolex so they buy a watch that looks similar, probably because they like the look of the watch, it is cheap and you can wear it daily without much fear of it getting damaged, if it breaks, you are not out much money. People that buy these homage watches know they have shortcomings and cannot be compared to the real thing.
The homage watches are incredible value. Rhey really show how overpiced luxury watches are, specially Rolexes and Patek Philippe. They give you sapphire, a proper screw down crown and case back, a seiko movement, all for 200 sometimes even under 100 dollars. And they have higher water resistance than the original Rolex too😂
Sorry for the audio problem! If I want to fix this I’m going to have to re-upload this video. Let me know, in reply to this comment if I should do that or not. Thanks.
No issues with sound. Great comparison. As far a the watches are concerned buy one and immediately lose £40, buy another and immediately make £1000.
I found the left ear only audio segment (during most of the video) bothersome. Would be great if you could fix this going forward.
I would love to see a comparison with the new San Martin Explorer homage. Looks pretty close.
Really good comparison review mate. The real question for me is, does the Rolex justify the huge price difference? I personally think that the Bliger is underpriced and the Rolex is overpriced.
This is the "Million Dollar Question"! Thanks for watching!
You're right there I think.
All Rolex Watches are overpriced, when you look at the Homage equivalents.
There's no denying the quality and performance of a Rolex, but they are clearly overpriced, even compared to Tudor. They manage all the same Specifications, yet the Retail Price is a lot lower.

@@TheTownWatch 20 plus years. My grandfather gave it to me when he passed on. I treasure it. I think it was made in the 80’s.
man, wtf, learn how economy works, what you are talking about
@@user-qq7yc1qp8z Who are you talking to and what are you talking about?
@@gmotionedc5412 What an awesome and sentimental piece!
Very helpful comparison, indeed! Rolex Explorer is my grail watch, maybe I should pull the trigger for the Bliger instead... 🤔
Thanks for watching! Hope you can get your grail at some point! Perhaps a good homage in the mean time might hold you over until then. That’s up to you!
love your video sir
Thank you for watching!
I know how it is man! So hard to keep up with everyone! Thanks for tuning in! Glad you enjoyed this side by side!
Smiths and tissell make the best explorer homage. Oh though i hear san martin is releasing a vintage version soon. It will probably be pretty damn good knowing their previous watches.
Thanks for watching! That San Martin homage sounds interesting!
I think the Bliger is bang for every buck it's atleast 75% of the rolex. 5% loss for the status symbol and 20% loss for finer details and a bit less of the specs.
Thanks for watching!
the Rolex is 80x more expensive. I think the Bliger makes up for the difference in quality.
Thanks for watching!
Isn't it pronounced "homage" with a short "o" sound? The brand is paying homage to the Rolex version by copying the style.
Well, 2025 note their will be some Seagull movements that will copy the Grand Seiko movement and probably some reverse engineering into it.
Probably right!
Perhaps a quality homage comparison would have been better?
No doubt! This is the one I had on hand though!
😅😂🤣 Good one Brian!!! Thanks for watching!
@@TheTownWatch 😉👍🤣
Well your Video is kind of old now l have a San Martin Submariner Homage Date and a Cronos Submariner Homage No date.
I have a friend who has a Rolex Submariner ,so l am in the position to compare them.
The Cronos is near enough a perfect match with glide lock.
If you are going to get a Homage watch if you can afford it get a good Homage watch.
You want homage watch perfect?
Need a matching buckle on that Alpina strap
i would take the Bliger and the change of the 7 grand for the Rolex hahaha.
:) Thanks for watching!
the bliger is using the case design of a milgauss
Interesting, didn’t consider that. Thanks for watching!
Does the Rolex hack
Yes.
Of course we can talk together.... with pleasure.
Is the Rolex 100 times better?
Probably not! Thanks for watching!
The Bliger is too bulky. I purchased it but am now selling it as I've bought an Alpha Explorer which most agree is the closest to the real Explorer.
4 the money that not to bad 😄😄😁for £70
Thanks for watching!
Trovo questo video inutile...
Se all'Explorer togli la scritta Rolex dal quadrante non sono sicuro che lo sceglieresti al doppio del prezzo del Bliger
if I had the Rolex I would sell it and buy the Homage then take the profits and do something fun with my family. but this is coming from a poor UA-camr in a third world country hahaha.
I put mine in the washing machine with a hammer for the brushed lug look
Nice! 😅 Thanks for watching!
It is SO simple: One is a legend, the other a cheap chinese laughable copy
Of course the Rolex is overpriced this is the luxury. For exemple Cartier sale a watch baignoire in white gold with quartz movement €30.000.- the price of a car ! The fake is a well made fake but it is a fake. Imagine à copy of a Porsche or Mercedes. The americans people always speaks about prices !! You don't buy a Rolex to have the time better to buy a Casio with the battery wich last 7 years. Ok baby. !!!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! What country are you from?
both fugly. The real deal is the 36mm explorer.
😁 Thanks for watching!
Every time you say "home-azhe" everyone who has an education cringes, and decides to try to find a watch channel with a semi-literate host. It is pronounced "ohmazh". And speak from your diaphragm--you're not justin beiber and we're not thirteen-year old girls.
You're funny! Thanks for watching!
Wow, as Sgt Hulka (Stripes) would say: “lighten up there, Francis”.
i cant stand homages. ok, i get it, its for people, who wants to have a rolex watch, but dont have the money and are honest enough not to buy a fake, but why? i mean, the rolex design is, as iconic as it is, boring. its the same, since the dawn of the mankind.
