If you listen closely to the music in the background during the chase scene you will find that the music changes depending on which part of the chase scene you are on. It is most noticeable when you watch it at 4:21 when Nate jumps off of the roof into someone's house. The original song for museum bust is not like that which means that they programmed the game to add suspense and cut different parts of the song in order to add tension or highlight some areas in the chase scene through music. (crazy how much detail and attention naughty dog put into the music)
Edit: also I'm pretty sure the main melody on the guitar only plays once you jump into that random dude's house.

My theory is that Nate and Sam were in the same city, but just in different parts- each of them getting recon on the whereabouts of drake's ring, which Nate ends up finding first. He meets Sully, then after their scene at the bar, they both meet up with Sam.

Dunno how many times I got caught jumping over the railing trying to get away 😂 The rest was fairly easy to guess but went on for a lot longer than expected! Awesome chase

Moments like this is what the 4th game kinda lacked. It didnt' have any "wow" moments as memorable as this or the sinking ship bit. And the train sequence from the 2nd.

Mister Sarajevo I played through the 4th game a bit disappointed. By no means is it a bad game but it barely holds itself above the 1st game (the worst).
I disagree the 4th is the best by far it's so perfectly balanced in action, scripts, exploring, puzzles, video scenes.
No wow moments? The Madagascar city chase is the most adrenaline rush part of the whole series also the tower collapse scene and I personally loved the madagascar temple 'collapse' too.
