4/11/23 UPDATE: After we published our video investor Martyn Ravenhill watched it and eventually bought and fully restored this house. Martyn was able to accomplish something others could not as it's now listed as a historical landmark in Las Vegas! Here's a current short ua-cam.com/users/shortsPVdO9R6vnd8 I plan to do a full update on the property.
The house has been brought and has been restored to its once grand elegance, which is wonderful news...Daze with Jordan the Lion recently went on a tour through the house, it looks amazing
I went to elementary school around the corner from Liberace's house in 1977. We would walk by his house after school and on occassion see him working in his yard. He was the nicest man who always would wave at us and say hello. It is so sad to see a part of my past go to ruins and if I ever had the means, would buy this property and restore it. Its sad we all have to die and what becomes of the properties that were once so beautiful and a part of the town's history
I grew up in Vegas at that time, too. I remember being in the car with my folks, and seeing Liberace next to us at a stoplight in his gilded kit-car. He had his finger a mile up his nose, digging to China. Then he saw me looking at him, and tried to act like he was adjusting his sunglasses.
@Kay Madrid Correction... “many” gay men, not “any” gay man. Not all gay men are the same, we come in many many varieties with different beliefs and lives, just like any other group of people!
As child i was not allowed to watch This Talented Amazing Man on the T.V because my father hatef him. Now i try to watch everything i can find on him.RIP Dear Sir!!
@@mrssrm5053 It is written about in this article. He watched a youTube video that discussed the foreclosure, called the agent to verify what the video stated, and bought it in 2013. That is just a few months after this video was posted. Sound like pretty good evidence to me. www.reviewjournal.com/homes/real-estate-millions/liberace-mansion-is-glittery-piece-of-las-vegas-history-video/
Thank you. I'm so glad your video worked and Martyn Ravenhill bought it, renovated it, got it declared a Historic Monument, and is now back open to the public.
I went to his museum several years ago. It was a wonderful exhibit of his costumes, pianos, and dishes like Queen Elizabeth. The docent had wonderful stories to tell about his life and support of young musicians. It turned out to be the best museum I have been to and I will always remember the stories shared of how he gave his embellished coat to Elvis to replace the plain one of Elvis so he would stand out to the crowd during the first time Elvis went to perform at Vegas , putting a Bentley frame over his VW Bug to save gas during the shortage and other great stories. It is sad to see all the beautiful items gone with the wonderful memories.
no matter what peoples personal opinion of him was or is, this wonderful man was a very important influence on the success of Las Vegas and his history should be maintained out of respect for all that he did. simply an incredible man!!! RIP Sir. it is a shame to see his property in shambles like that.
People of Las Vegas know what he was and how he prayed on young men. He was a great guy that was placed in his coffin face down so his friends could pay their respect.
Hey man he's just like everyone else ok, let's put your life on display and see what's in your closet, that's what I thought, nobody's perfect nor was lee, the entertainment he gave us was amazing, RIP LEE
A friend did carpentry work on that house. He was of Italian ancestry, as were most of the workers at the site. He said Liberace drove an older station wagon with a piano keyboard paint job across the side. Said it was kinda strange to see such a guy as Liberace driving such a funky vehicle. But he said that Liberace gave a catered lunch to his workers every day. These guys (the workers and Liberace himself) kept their Italian values! Said he was the best guy you could hope to work for.
His Mother was Polish.I'm reading his bio and his Dad had musical talent too.Liberace hated sports so its ironic he was born in West Allis,WI ( home to many famous US Olympic speed skaters ) in the past.
Moved out there in 1980 when I was 11. My stepfather had a pool business and used to maintain the pool there. He mostly would deal with his brother, but the handful of times he met Liberace, he said he was a good guy. Used to drive by the museum on my way to school when they still bussed us to North LV.
shaggybreeks I know doormen and porters who work in Trump Tower. Liberace rented an apartment there when he was performing in Radio City Music Hall. They say he was the most kindest generous gentleman. He would make lasagna and popcorn and melted cheese sandwiches , and bring them food all the time . Never have I ever heard anyone speak disparaging about this man
I need to come back and watch this when my eyes are not dilated. lol! What I can say for a fact is that neighborhood is around 70 years old now, and is considerd a bad area of town. Our small business use to make service calls to that house back in the early 80's, when he still lived there. I never saw it in person myself, but our men would come back talking about how grand it was, and how nice he was, as sometimes he would be home when they came, and he would talk to them. I did see his show once at the Hilton, and it was wonderful if you like piano music. I hope someone comes along who will transform it back to it's glory days. The house is over valued for the neighborhood yet, miracles can happen. 10-22-24
I always admired Liberace as a kid, I never even noticed, nor cared that he was a gay man. He was immensely talented, and classy and most importantly, he didn't pretend to be anyone other than who he was. Dude just oozed class. The video just proves that once you're gone, you're gone. It doesn't much matter either way, the vultures always come in after and take an individual's property, divide up a lifetimes worth of treasures, pile up and sale whatever's left, that's it. End of story. You can be a king, or a chimney sweeper, but in the end, we all dance with the reaper.
My grandfather was a pioneer in Las Vegas going back to the early days... I watched Lee Liberace perform countless times, and was without doubt in my humble opinion, he was by far the Master Showman of All Time.
In the Fall of 2016, I was inside this Liberace Mansion for a charity event. It has been restored, beautiful! A lot of chandeliers, a lot of glitter, gold and marble. I recognize the magnificent bathroom. I even met some of Liberace's entertainer friends and they shared stories about him. It may be open for rent for parties, weddings, etc.
I found a video dated July 2015. It shows a very rich man has bought the home and dropped over a milion dollars in it's restoration. It has been brought back to it's former glory

Some years ago I went to Vegas and among many things, saw the Liberace museum..I felt so sorry for a person who despite mayby having a bizarre personal lifestyle was helpful and generous to many..was abandoned when dying and then having his property looted by so called "friends".....
I met Liberace in 1967 and found him to be very gracious and easy to talk to. It was a reception before he did a 3 night run at a local music hall. He is one of the few celebrities that I am in a photo with. I will also mention that he was a great entertainer.
Where was this? I played the piano with him at a Christmas show in Loveland, Colorado around 1965 I think it was.. He lived with us for a while there and was with Fay McKay...a friend of my mother's.
@@3schnauzies That is so cool. Was he just a regular guy off the stage? I have read so many stories of him being nice to people who worked for him. Dave Berry said "Some one who is nice to you and rude to the waiter is not a nice person." By all accounts it seems Liberace was a nice person.
My husband and I have visited Las Vegas many times. One time while we were there with my mother we went to the museum. As we were walking around and asking many questions music started playing, and people started running. Apparently one of the many students that had received one of Liberace's scholarships was in the house and the docents at the museum were not aware of her arrival. She was playing one of the many pianos in the museum and we were treated to a free concert that day! The things that were in the museum, and the docents were very knowledgeable and great to talk with. The free concert was just an added bonus.
I grew up in the 60's so I don't know as much as others about his life. I know he always had a bubbly attitude, not gay, just a happy guy. Whenever I seen him on TV he was always upbeat. I don't know how he died but his house should have been made like a museum. He is like Las Vegas's King. He loved expensive items just look around his place. Mr. Liberace you were one nice guy, thanks for all the memories.
Saw him live several times over the years he was a great entertainer and fine pianist. Few could put on a show and tickle the ivories with the style and expertise of Liberace - one of a kind.
Thank you so very much for putting up this video. I saw that it was bought by a man who wanted to save it and he brought it back to it's original beauty that Liberace loved. What a great thing you did by saving this well loved home. And the man that bought it is wonderful for what he's done to it.
My grandmother & aunts went to see Lee every year when he performed in Atlanta. They loved him. I saw him perform the year before he died and his entire show was amazing. He looked fantastic. Lee was showing his full length fur to old ladies on the front row. His rope belt had two balls of fur on the ends. He leaned over to the ladies and said 'Do you want to squeeze my balls? Go ahead, squeeze them'. The old ladies cackled and loved it!
9/27/18.....It was his talent/great showmanship that made him well known....& he was also a big real estate investor..... Glad to hear somebody has bought the place & restored it. No matter what his lifestyle, he enjoyed life & had a good heart & wonderful sense of humor!
I remember as a young kid seeing Liberace on the Mike Douglas show in Philly. I remember Mike would always ask him, "Lee, when are you gonna find a good woman and settle down?" Liberace would laugh and say, I'm still looking. Even at my young age I knew that was a crock.
I am 68 and I loved hearing his music, when I was a little girl. I saw where someone bought and restored this beautiful house. I don’t care if he gay or not, I loved him and his personality. Their is one person to judge and that isn’t me. His home is so classy and amazing. I absolutely love it! ❤️🌹❤️
He sent me a beautiful 8 by 10 snapshot with his famous cape. I always admired this man and what a showman he was. No one today can play as well. So sad about his life. The documentary was outstanding to listen to. Believe me if I had the money I would purchase this property. I'm surprise that his sister has not purchased this.
Was my moms idol. I enjoyed most was his ever sweet smile. He has great taste too. The more i look at his homes in ruins, the more sad i felt for Liberace. I could tell hes a very friendly, humble and kind man. His hard work gaves him his enjoyment this luxaries and pleasure. Enjoyed the most of it till our last breath if we are as wealthy as him. RIP. You are great.
I drove by Lee's old house just last week and the new owner really has cleaned it up. the windows of the Moroccan room are no longer foggy but nice and clear must be a great View and the whole rest of the places fixed up the gates and fences are repaired everything looks consistent nice to see somebody get a hold of it and do something
As Dawn O posted, very glad to see that the house, etc has been restored to full Glory by an investor and fan of Liberace. I also saw the Vlog by Daze with Jordan the Lion. His Vlogs he reports on are so informative on every subject he chooses. He really does his homework. The home has since the restoration been put on the Register of Historic Places for Nevada.
Such a great way to honor Liberace's memory and legacy by keeping this place preserved. I know he still has many many fans (and will have many new fans in the future). Just remember folks, you can't take any of it with you! RIP Liberace & May your memory be honored for all of time. God rest.
THE FACT IS HE MADE THE $$$ TO BE ABLE TO LIVE THE LIFE STYLE HE WANTED!!!! FLAMBOYANT!!!! THE BOTTOM LINE IS: HE WAS A GREAT PIANOIST!!!!! CLOSE YOUR EYES/LISTEN CLOSELY: CAN HEAR HIS MUSIC FROM HEAVEN......... RIP SIR.......
+bisquitnspanky LET ME RELIVE MY DAY; OH YEAH...THE ONLY ONE I MISSED WAS YOU!!!!! YOU MUST BE CRAZY PUTTING THOSE THINGS ON HERE...THE DEVILS ADVOCATE AS YOU SPEAK...SHAME
+ Cam D. Lee was a first rate pianist. He was trained classically but decided to go for the dough instead of taking the high-ground. Way back in 1953, in Portland OR, I could not wait to see his next B&W TV appearance. In those days he dressed very well just as a classical musician would, and there was none of the flamboyance that he went for later. Being only eight then, I was entranced utterly by the tasteful spectacle and music, and waited for his Mom to be shown in the audience, dutifully observing. Then I was satisfied fully. George Liberace, his brother, was a violinist and appeared usually to enliven things up string-wise; also various other instrumentalists were to be added later as the show's format progressed and got refined. His joyousness at playing really transferred to listeners. This was why, I think, he was so popular and successful. I believe that some of those older shows can be seen here on UA-cam. I've caught some and they are just as I remembered them some sixty-three years ago, now. Later, I got to meet him and his Mom by doing some pipe-organ restoration work at the W. Hollywood house just above Sunset Strip. My partner and I worked mostly in the living room area. Mom (herself) would make lunch for us. She was very nice and caring. (Of course it did not hurt that Mom was Polish and so was my partner. They got-on great.) Later, when our work was finished he had a party where the newly-restored instrument was featured. It was a blast! We got invited back two more times and always, it was filled with guests. (I remember featured on the hillside there, a Calypso Steel Drum Band. I think he sponsored their appearances stateside.) Once there was a private dinner with only my partner, Jamie James (I think he was his manager), Mom, Phyllis Diller and Lee. Phyllis was frightening to me, being very assertive and LOUD but, I liked her a lot nevertheless and, she WAS very funny. (I think she liked me; I have a photo where she is giving me "the eye'! Yikes!) I always addressed Liberace as "Mr. Liberace". After having done-so for several of times at dinner and from before many, he most kindly said to me (I was sitting just at his left) "Jim, all of my friends call me 'Lee' " Of course, thereafter I did just as they did. In all of the time that I was acquainted with him, his deportment and demeanor were exemplary and, he was extremely kind, considerate and generous. (What more from a fellow human being could one want?) Once, he did play for me some Chopin that I had requested. It was very finely turned indeed (there WAS a serious part to Lee), and I understood why he could have been a great artist in 'high-brow' as some put it, if he had wanted to. For critics of his music and musicianship I ask the following: might you have ever heard a wrong note that he played? (If so, which one was it?) Well, I never did and so I can state, in my opinion as based upon observation over a near lifetime of listening, that he was note-perfect always! That in-and-of-itself is genius. (Many great classical pianists were not; not Horowitz, not Cortot but . . . Hofmann and Rachmaninoff certainly were, just as was Lee.) As well, his rhythmic sense itself was well-nigh perfect. Over the time of his career the man entertained very many millions and made them feel uplifted, and special even where he had contact with them, even minimal. He tended to be naive certainly, and so many took terrible mal-advantage of this. To it generally he said (or so I suspect) c'est la vie!! But, he did have his limit for it, and sometimes tepidly fought-back. He had not a mean bone in his body that I ever saw or heard-of, and always eschewed the negative, opting for the positive outlook in all things. This is what i know of him from personal contact, limited as it necessarily was by given circumstance. I agree with you, Cam. D.; may 'Lee' Rest In Peace. (You seem to have a good heart; many here that have commented viciously and negatively having not known him apparently do not and, most tragically might never.)
I spent New Years Day 1981 in that home as Lee's guest along with my cast members in The Young Americans. We performed with him for 2 months at the Las Vegas Hilton. He invited us to have pizza at his place.
Sorry, I'm just now seeing your reply Jerry. Other projects keep me occupied, but I wanted to say thanks for taking time to share your story! A different time it was and what a great memory you have to look back on. I've heard from many others what a fab and awesome host he was.

Wow, I was stunned how utterly and completely devastated this property has become. It’s so sad we let this happen to the world’s finest musician. Liberace gave us the gift of beautiful music and through it all he was such a modest man with very simple tastes. Every parent should hope their son grows up to be like Mr. Liberace. Thanks to the uploader.
I went to Las Vegas in 2009 , Liberace's house was pointed out to me when I went on the mob tour. I also visited his museum. Thanks for posting this vid
I sure hope that when he was alive, he had good security, I mean I remember back in the 1950's when he was on tv, Liberace's neighbors were complaining about fans driving up to his house and climbing over the fence at Christmas time to see inside.
There are so many people making negative comments regarding his home. What you seem to not understand that the house pleased HIM, and he could have cared less about what others thought of him or his home. He made his fortune by working hard and honestly. What matters is only that; he obviously was happy in his home regardless of how over the top it was....so was he.
Jesse Betsill: The phrase is, 'Couldn't care less'. Sorry to be so pedantic but you're losing the essence of what you're trying to express by saying it incorrectly.
@@lorrainephillips7250 I was about to write that myself! The way it's written and many people say it....means just the opposite of their intended meaning. So we're giving a free English lesson here!
I am so happy since many years now that someone took over this home and returned it back to its original and got a hold of many original pieces that were in Lee's home. I guess it is now the Liberace Museum.
Many states and counties having different zoning laws/regulations when houses are built, maybe that was the zone rules at the time the house was built . I myself wanted to build a house (years ago) and was surprised at how many zone/regulations there were when it came to the space/walkway allowed or not allowed in front of house.
alejandro fernandez I agree! We loved him over here in Aussie. He even helped a singer we had here, took him over there and Jamie did very well. Like you said he was a showman and very good at it. You guys had Liberace we had Peter Allen another great showmen. I watched Liberace every week and if I had known there was a museum about his life and the over to top style I would have gone to see it. But we didn't know when we were in LVegas about it so we didn't see anything... I love these channels that show the history of old blds and the ppl who lived in them. Tnks I've subscribed and will check out more from this page. Keep up reporting the background, and good job 😎
Good video! I shared it to my FB page. Thank you so much for trying. Liberace was one of a kind, and such an amazing and kind man. My grandmother loved him, and so I enjoyed him too, from the time I was little until my teens. He was completely brilliant and funny. It really sucks that I'll never get to see it, as it was, for myself. I've never been to Vegas.

Yes it’s true here in the uk 🇬🇧 we do love restoring old buildings, and a lot of them are listed so they can’t be knocked down, yes us brits are very nostalgic about history art etc, I’m glad this gentleman restored it to its former glory, and brought life back into the beautiful building, if I could choose two things it would be the ceiling of the Sistine chapel in the bedroom beautiful and that gorgeous bath 🛀 and well done to the present owner I can imagine Liberace would be proud and smiling down
I have some Liberace lore for you regarding his generosity and real estate. I don't know what year this happened, maybe during the 60's but Liberace was touring the US and was ill throughout the time. Dr's in every city he stopped at couldn't figure out what was wrong with him until he got to St Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh PA. It was the glue used on sequins with his costumes making him sick. He actually almost died; ended up having to have dialysis! He was so very grateful, he donated a ton of money to have a huge solarium built on to the hospital; it was very nice. It was called the Liberace Lobby. Sadly, St Francis was imploded about a decade ago. It was a great place. They saved my life in 1993.
That my friend is just a story his manager put out there. The real reason was his white cells were so low he almost died. The reason was he had full blown Aids. They didn't have the treatment they do today, so could only have him rest. He knew he had Aids but still continued his lifestyle and didn't tell his partners.
Well I heard different from the story. What I heard is it was from having his clothes dry-cleaned. He would sweat every night while he was performing and the solvent used in his dry cleaning combined with the sweat was causing problems. But then another poster indicates that this what's a story that was just put out and he was suffering from symptoms of pre AIDS.
That was a story his doctors came up with. It was because of his white count. The doctors had the glue story for his death certificate. The state of CA. ordered an autopsy and then listed HIV as the cause of death.
Am sur LIBERACE is very pleased for not having is beloved home destroyed and forgotten... he always wanted to leave so much of him to his fans...and thanks to the one who stepped in and saved his home 🏡...now it will be remembered for a long time...
So wonderful that his home was restored..Liberace was a great pianist. He should be honored .I know he has a smile on his face looking at his house... Rest In Peace.. Mr. Liberace!
I toured the Liberace Museum several years ago, before it closed. It was not at his home; it was inside some storefronts of a strip mall that Liberace had actually owned. So on the outside, it was very unimpressive. But the collections on display on the inside were very impressive (pianos, costumes, jewelry, etc.). The tour guides were very knowledgeable. They said that much or most of his money went into a foundation to fund music scholarships for aspiring high school and college students. If true, that is extremely worthwhile, much more so than simply maintaining his home as a "shrine." Despite all the kitsch, Liberace was truly devoted to quality music and music education.
@@Miss__Understands Correction: You only make jokes about them because you have a boring life and need to seek attention so you can feel you're actually being noticed by someone .... anyone will do, even strangers on the internet. Sad for you.

I am the 2nd of 4 generations born and raised in Las Vegas. At the time he built his home, it was considered quite extravagant just as he was and just as he lived. The home was built away from everything else, as was Wayne Newtons former home, the Shenandoah. Everything eventually built out to and around these former Estates. An amazing history of the Valley is archived at the UNLV Library. Good Memories!
Ahh yes Casa De Shenandoah by Sunset Park. Im born and raised in Vegas and we used to see the horses out on his estate as we drove to and back from little league basesball games at Sunset. My wife and I visited the Liberace museum several times. I am not surprised it is gone. The house is another example of a place passed by in time. Younger people like guitars, and not pianos. The biggest year in US piano sales was 1905. Sales have gone down every year since 1905. Roy Rogers museum is also history. Ver sad, but expected.
maplewoodsp Too damn bad you can't get a Bosendorfer for under a few hundred k....lol. That's my favorite one. Only one I've seen that makes an "upright grand."
The new owner did a fantastic job restoring this once great home. Liberace’s story is one that needs to be told. He was the son of Italian and polish immigrants. A child prodigy, he began playing the piano at age four. He credits his father with instilling in him his determination to share his gift with the world while his mother believed that piano lessons and even a record player were luxuries that simply couldn’t be afforded. He made himself into one of the greatest pianists in the world and he truly earned the moniker of “Mr. Showmanship”. He may have lived a life of grandiose and opulence but he worked hard for every penny he earned.
To turn around and the average citizen can't purchase a home for 100 miles in proximity...go figure, the rich are destroying hard working people.... just a shame. But in the end, everyone gets what they deserve. Talent or inherited wealth, it's all about destructive mentality
Such beautiful Antiques, like a museum. Beautiful, that man had Taste, Class, Talent and Imagination… See so many rich people today who's homes have no character or thought put into them. Its like they shop at Ikea or something.
Mom was a big fan. I remember watching in awe of his flashing clothes and personality. Mom went to Vegas and went to the museum. She said it was absolutely amazing. So sad that it has come to this.
Yeah, and he knew about all those insults. He said they made him cry all the way to the bank. That is so COOL, to say, "y'know, FUCK what other people think. I know who I am, I know what I like, and I know what I'm gonna be: I'm just gonna be ME, and the HELLL with it, take it or leave it!
As a kid, I didn't know what gay was...but I loved Liberace. Later my thought was, "Well! That explains a lot!" hahaha! He was so loving and generous of heart.
On a recent visit we made to Las Vegas I talked to two people who have lived on this street for 30 years and they told me that fans would go up and knock on Liberaces door and if at home he would come right out and take pictures with them and autograph anything they wanted him to,if this does not say alot about this man I dont know what would.name me an artist over the last 30-40 years that would do what Liberace would do here for fans coming up to his house,,amazing.......
He was THE master showman of our era, however even Liberace proves you come into the world with nothing and you leave with nothing. You cannot take it with you! Just a shame that no one after his death had the wisdom nor insight to preserve the Liberace estate similar to Elvis Presley.
He was nauseating..to watch and listen to his voice. I'm uncertain what its gender was. He liked homosexual activity....so whatever it was it was perverted. It was a very good pianist..that I can say. But the rest horrible!
I agree. That house is damn near move-in ready!!! What a lovely place, though! A lot of white. : / Can you imagine living there with little kids? Nightmare!!! lol
I wonder why nobody bought this beautiful house after he died. My guess it was to expensive or people thought back than if they bought it they would catch aids which was ridiculous!!!!
I cleaned the tile and grout in this home approximately 1.5 years ago... The place was being redone...And looking Beautiful! ua-cam.com/video/gvRRMXfzOug/v-deo.html
I saw Liberace at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas about 1979 he was Brilliant had me laughing and listening to his music style all the way. A Fantastic entertainer . Great shame about his home and museum . He had money why didn't the people in charge of his wealth maintain it for when things pick up. Doesn't make sense.
Funny you say that. 1979 was the last time I was in Las Vegas as well and my parents went to see Liberace. He didn't have descendants, only his mother and she died before he did. What no one is pointing out is in the decade after Liberace died, you couldn't give away a house where the previous owner died of AIDS. So bad was it that President Clinton initiated federal laws putting AIDS under ADA protection, so that sellers and real estate professionals were not required to disclose the HIV status of the seller or if the previous owner had died of AIDS, (even it they had actually died within the property), to a potential buyer.
4/11/23 UPDATE: After we published our video investor Martyn Ravenhill watched it and eventually bought and fully restored this house. Martyn was able to accomplish something others could not as it's now listed as a historical landmark in Las Vegas! The house has been brought and has been restored to its once grand elegance, which is wonderful news...Daze with Jordan the Lion recently went on a tour through the house, it looks amazing
And it will fall into ruins again that was another time and era

He made many many people happy with his music. He had a beautiful smile and he took care of his mother.

What a great thing that this home has been appropriately restored. Your effort has paid off!!!

Michael Douglas did a great performance playing Liberace
A friend did carpentry work on that house. He was of Italian ancestry, as were most of the workers at the site. He said Liberace drove an older station wagon with a piano keyboard paint job across the side. Said it was kinda strange to see such a guy as Liberace driving such a funky vehicle. But he said that Liberace gave a catered lunch to his workers every day. These guys (the workers and Liberace himself) kept their Italian values! Said he was the best guy you could hope to work for.
It's true! I saw him driving around in that car one day.
His Mother was Polish.I'm reading his bio and his Dad had musical talent too.Liberace hated sports so its ironic he was born in West Allis,WI ( home to many famous US Olympic speed skaters ) in the past.
wow, great story shaggybreeks
It is fully bought and restored. Someone did see this and bought it i live here in vegas have photos its very nice
You need to see the video of it now on Daze With Jordan The Lion's channel. It's so wonderfully done. He'd be proud.
I love the last line; so humbling and true.
My grandfather was a pioneer in Las Vegas going back to the early days...

My grandmother & aunts went to see Lee every year when he performed in Atlanta. They loved him. I saw him perform the year before he died and his entire show was amazing. He looked fantastic.
They got-on great.)
Later, when our work was finished he had a party where the newly-restored instrument was featured. It was a blast! We got invited back two more times and always, it was filled with guests. (I remember featured on the hillside there, a Calypso Steel Drum Band. I think he sponsored their appearances stateside.)
Once there was a private dinner with only my partner, Jamie James (I think he was his manager), Mom, Phyllis Diller and Lee. Phyllis was frightening to me, being very assertive and LOUD but, I liked her a lot nevertheless and, she WAS very funny. (I think she liked me; I have a photo where she is giving me "the eye'! Yikes!)
I always addressed Liberace as "Mr.
(What more from a fellow human being could one want?)
Once, he did play for me some Chopin that I had requested. It was very finely turned indeed (there WAS a serious part to Lee), and I understood why he could have been a great artist in 'high-brow' as some put it, if he had wanted to.
For critics of his music and musicianship I ask the following: might you have ever heard a wrong note that he played? (If so, which one was it?)
Well, I never did and so I can state, in my opinion as based upon observation over a near lifetime of listening, that he was note-perfect always! That in-and-of-itself is genius. (Many great classical pianists were not; not Horowitz, not Cortot but . . . Hofmann and Rachmaninoff certainly were, just as was Lee.)
As well, his rhythmic sense itself was well-nigh perfect.

They saved my life in 1993.

reason was his white cells were so low he almost died.
Ha . My dad met him in Pittsburgh. He sent him a gift every year till his death ..
That was a story his doctors came up with. It was
because of his white count. The doctors had the
glue story for his death certificate. The state of CA. ordered an autopsy and then listed HIV as the
cause of death.
Am sur LIBERACE is very pleased for not having is beloved home destroyed and forgotten... he always wanted to leave so much of him to his fans...and thanks to the one who stepped in and saved his home 🏡...now it will be remembered for a long time...
He's dead. He is no longer conscious of ever having been a person. He can't be pleased or anything else. He's dead.

So wonderful that his home was restored..Liberace was a great pianist. He should be honored .I know he has a smile on his face looking at his house... Rest In Peace.. Mr. Liberace!
I enjoyed his music then and now '2019...
He was a very
LONELY MAN ...
GOD HAVE MERCY ON HIM and Rest In
🕊Peace🕊 for ALL ETERNITY.
I also toured that museum. An amazing collection, but just a strip-center on the outside.
@@Miss__Understands Correction: You only make jokes about them because you have a boring life and need to seek attention so you can feel you're actually being noticed by someone .... anyone will do, even strangers on the internet. Sad for you.

As Hawking once said, "wrong again, Albert!"
My life as an always-naked sex slave in a group house where I can slack off and read astrophysics instead of going to work designing reactor stuff is ANYTHING but boring.
Don't worry, I get attention from a _lot_ of people (and all their friends).
I worked there as a waiter the home located across from the Thomas and Mac truly is a shame ☹️when I was five years old he was at the boulevard Mall I remember him buying a little puppy dog for a girl there Liberace performed at the Landmark for charity when I was 4 years old I remember him playing the piano until they send in the amount of money they needed like 3 or 4 hours God Bless Lee RIP a true Vegas OG
There was a restaurant called Carluccios in the Liberace Plaza we used to go to. Vegas was a small city back then. I miss it.old vegas
It's gorgeous now! It was restored!!!! ❤️
I moved to Vegas in 1976 when I was 11 years old. I remember riding my bicycle by liberace's house.
Went to Valley ? How about Stephanie or Tony spilotro Jr I used to ride past Evel Knievel s Gene Ward
@@don.evegas7408 yes I went to Valley High my sophomore year.

So very sad to see. He was an amazing Showman 😢
anthony davis lmmfao Anthony I was gonna call him a fagette but u beat me to it
The new owner did a fantastic job restoring this once great home.
I always enjoyed the fact that he loved to perform, and it showed, every time.
This was 6 years ago.so glad it was purchased, recognized and renovated!
To turn around and the average citizen can't purchase a home for 100 miles in proximity...go figure, the rich are destroying hard working people.... just a shame. But in the end, everyone gets what they deserve. Talent or inherited wealth, it's all about destructive mentality
Bunch of bullies degrading this wonderfull man
are you talking about Trump?
They did NOTHING with their lives.
Such beautiful Antiques, like a museum. Beautiful, that man had Taste, Class, Talent and Imagination… See so many rich people today who's homes have no character or thought put into them. Its like they shop at Ikea or something.
lol Ikea though😂😂😂😂
we lookin at the same house
Mom was a big fan. I remember watching in awe of his flashing clothes and personality. Mom went to Vegas and went to the museum. She said it was absolutely amazing. So sad that it has come to this.
TYVM 💕 helping the Tribute to Liberace & the restoration. He know's and is grateful for you caring enough to promote his memory. ❤️ Heart warming ❤️
aww poor guy. So talented! With all the haters you'd never know he had any talent.
I remember when he used to have his tv show, his brother George and mamma.
I love all the antiques he has.
So glad this was restored to almost the original. Too beautiful, and full of history, to be run into ruins.
He was THE master showman of our era, however even Liberace proves you come into the world with nothing and you leave with nothing. You cannot take it with you!
Just a shame that no one after his death had the wisdom nor insight to preserve the Liberace estate similar to Elvis Presley.
MJ's Neverland ranch is also, sadly, in total disrepair.
He was nauseating..to watch and listen to his voice. I'm uncertain what its gender was. He liked homosexual activity....so whatever it was it was perverted. It was a very good pianist..that I can say. But the rest horrible!
Neil Huff "it"???? He definitely was a male. Why insult him and call him "it"? That's really crude & rude.
+ArizonaSunflowers AGREE...ELVIS WAS A DRUG ADDICT AT THE END..SHOOTING OFF GUNS INSIDE HIS MANSION... ESTATE...THEY STILL PRAISE HIM...
ELVIS,LIBERACE,SINATRA....THE HOLY TRINITY of the Las Vegas worshippers !
All the old time performers are gone and only an age group remember them. So sad to see all this.
I wouldn't call it "in ruins". It's just empty.
I agree.
That house is damn near move-in ready!!!
What a lovely place, though! A lot of white. : /
Can you imagine living there with little kids? Nightmare!!! lol
I wonder why nobody bought this beautiful house after he died. My guess it was to expensive or people thought back than if they bought it they would catch aids which was ridiculous!!!!
"looks like a funeral home...." I was thinking the same thing because it looks like a funeral home in the city where I live.
Still empty after this video was posted 4 years ago?
Duh...it's not made for kids. Can't you see the dogs? Love the white!!
You should see it now!! It is beautiful and fully renovated
It's been saved. A man from the UK has renovated it. It's beautiful again!
I cleaned the tile and grout in this home approximately 1.5 years ago... The place was being redone...And looking Beautiful! ua-cam.com/video/gvRRMXfzOug/v-deo.html
You went through a lot of masks and gloves, like a lot of people are doing today
Glad to hear that! I wonder if he haunts his homes.
Yes ,I just saw it the other day a d it is gprgous
I saw Liberace at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas about 1979 he was Brilliant had me laughing and listening to his music style all the way. A Fantastic entertainer . Great shame about his home and museum . He had money why didn't the people in charge of his wealth maintain it for when things pick up. Doesn't make sense.
Barry they took the money and run.....
With all of the abandoned mansions I wonder why the descendents don't take care
Funny you say that. 1979 was the last time I was in Las Vegas as well and my parents went to see Liberace. He didn't have descendants, only his mother and she died before he did. What no one is pointing out is in the decade after Liberace died, you couldn't give away a house where the previous owner died of AIDS. So bad was it that President Clinton initiated federal laws putting AIDS under ADA protection, so that sellers and real estate professionals were not required to disclose the HIV status of the seller or if the previous owner had died of AIDS, (even it they had actually died within the property), to a potential buyer.
The home has been beautifully restored back to its' former glory.
A fan of his has purchased and completely restored this house to its former glory and I believe has opened it to the public for tours...
My wife and I visited his home a number of years ago. It was amazing. Sorry it is not been taken care of. It was a great remembrance of Liberace.
