What ever any rider earns they earn every penny of it. They put their lifes on the line ever time they race for our entertainment.. so many riders lost of all ages and abilities... from club racing to moto gp... high 5 to the lot of them
Only rider we know 100% for salary is Marc Marquez who signed a 4 year deal with Honda back in 2019 (2020-2024) worth €100m which would divide down to €25m a year plus add ons and other sponsors. Stoner also earned around 3-6m each time he won a title. Great video as always Taylor!
Wow but some of you guys in the comments are clueless and moan for nothing. This is probably the best breakdown of how and what the riders are paid. For Taylor to put exact figures is completely impossible as some contracts can even change year to year with different clauses and conditions. Great video as always Taylor
Would love to see a video about how a MotoGP team works internally, what roles are there within the garage as there is a much wider range of things to cover than a SBK team!
Enjoyed the video Please do one of your dad’s era - this was when cigarette sponsors ruled the roost before being replaced by energy drink sponsors and there weren’t much advertising on the helmets - IIRC, it seems far less than now And how much can a Moto 2 and Moto 3 rider earn and is it sustainable for them to maintain a long term career like Angel Nieto, Kazuto Sakata and Nobby Ueda back in the days - I noticed that rider careers in those classes are now shorter than it was
Great video, how do riders pay for medical bills, ... In their contract or personally? Are they insurable? I'm also guessing your dad still has the lawn mower :)
Great video as always. These guy’s earn every penny potentially risking their lives every race. I was a little surprised you didn’t mention boots and gloves.
I know that in MotoAmerica and the Canadian Superbike Championship, there are a couple racers who are taking flight lessons so they can be pilots after their career is over.
@@colossalbiff3514 ah I see I watch josh herrins yt channel and he seems to be making a liveable wage same with other riders in MotoAmerica so maybe the guys at the back in moto America and Canadian superbike yeah idk about those guys
Rumour has it, the first season that Rossi was sponsored by Monster, they were given a small space on the left and right side of his visor where it clips into the helmet for the monster claw, and litherally the word "monster" with the claw logo on the chin of his helmet, and he was being paid €3m for it!! I couldn't imagine what that number grew to over the years!
New subber here. Great vids. did ya ever consider the TT? Dya reckon Marquez could handle the TT - hes a bit of a diva in my opinion..(from seeing a docu about him)
I can't believe you didn't mention Vale's apparel company for side businesses, the VR/46 company is still making licensed merchandise for a few different riders and I think also the team clothing for the factory Yamaha team (and also I imagine Yamaha still gives him some money to keep him associated with their brand for marketing purposes)
He mentioned that under extra curricular, and it’s not applicable to every rider so it would distort the earning range from back riders to front riders.
Thanks Mac, it’s all business and money, I think it has taken the love of sport away. If I was to offer you 5 million a year to be at the back I think you would take my hand off.
How many riders nowadays get to keep their championship winning bikes?? Your Dad probably has some, along with Ago, Sheene, Roberts etc, plus Rossi has a fair collection!! but is this a thing of the past due to the unbelievable costs involved in building such machines??
I think your title is misleading ? It should have been “How” Motogp riders get paid , you just give guesses for the entire video. I will say Motogp seems sort of Mafia-ish “. Why are most other sports so much more transparent ?

You said “pimping out his helmet” without even stifling a laugh. What a pro!

Having been a minor sponsor in BSB I can tell you it's infinitely variable, pretty much what the sponsor wants to contribute.
Very interesting, Taylor. Love this sort of behind the scenes content.
Would love to see a video about how a MotoGP team works internally, what roles are there within the garage as there is a much wider range of things to cover than a SBK team!
Great insight into the lucrative world of motogp. They deserve every penny in my opinion. Keep up the good work in moto3!
That's very interesting! Thanks for making this video. No matter what kind of racing one does, it's not the easiest way to earn a living.
Real insight from somebody who's been there, done that and got the t shirt.
Nice one bro, loving your videos! Keep up the great work!
Enjoyed the video

Thanks, interesting video! Next up expenses (travel, hotels, insurance etc)?

Like these types of vlogs, very informative, good job.

why?
@@midnightgt46 because they are paid a small amount and with a short racing career they need to be able to pay for the rest of their life time
@@colossalbiff3514 ah I see I watch josh herrins yt channel and he seems to be making a liveable wage same with other riders in MotoAmerica so maybe the guys at the back in moto America and Canadian superbike yeah idk about those guys
Grate content buddy love ur channel

Great vid.. even if you are way off, it was still valuable info.
Very interesting Taylor , can you do one for BSB ?
Most pay to ride
Interesting video Taylor, came to silverstone today great day overall and great result for the team today exciting race ❤️
Thanks for the ballpark figures and giving us a some what price range for what there making and how there making it!
Another nice one Taylor. !!
great vid again taylor
I saw a van with "Miller Plumbers" on the side.
I guess Jack is branching out like Espargaro ...
There was an article a while back that said Marc Marquez made 30 million euro's all up in 2019. So you're quite close I think,
Very interesting thank you.
Durex condoms were a large motorcycle racing sponsor 30-40 years ago.
You forgot to add rider merchandise as well which for some of the big names must make millions!
Rossi makes 25-30 million euros a year in merchandise sales.

Really interesting and great video. Would be interesting to hear what moto2 and moto3 riders get paid..
What's a team manager get paid? Are there bonus bux if your team wins the championship? Do you manage your brother and get 15% of his contract?
Do you have to pay fine if you don't get your rider out on time to qualify?
Can't see that Marc is going to get much next season at all.
Hi sir all I heard from you boosted the feeling I usually have for motoGP please any idea how I can get to perfect what I know?
They used to earn more when tobacco sponsorship was allowed. They really threw money into the sport, lavish parties, nothing spared.
Also merchandizing, I'm pretty sure VR46 has made as much off the track as on it tbh
Wonder what a manager gets 😂
Thanks Mac, it’s all business and money, I think it has taken the love of sport away. If I was to offer you 5 million a year to be at the back I think you would take my hand off.
Do dorna pay the rider for winning the title or is it the team that gets it or they would get paid for the team championship not the riders one 🤷🏻♂️
How many riders nowadays get to keep their championship winning bikes?? Your Dad probably has some, along with Ago, Sheene, Roberts etc, plus Rossi has a fair collection!! but is this a thing of the past due to the unbelievable costs involved in building such machines??
Dont earn enough to be honest. Compared to f1 with halos. Seatbelts and fireproof monocoque. Ask rossi if €15m was enough in austria 2020😟
I have a friend of mine who’s an inters winner who rode a fat chick for 20 quid once. It was a one off ride.
I heard he fell off and missed the rest of the season with carpet burns.
I knew a lad in Manchester who tattooed ‘sex’ on his helmet whilst in jail, he was never paid. It’s one rule for one…..
I’d win the championship for 10 million ad cut of body parts to save weight. Ad change boot size ad run in reverse
Who covers the medical and rehab costs ? Is it the team, the rider, or the ruling body ?
When mad mark? 🏍💨
I love a best guess lol
What about Moto2 and Moto3?
If the British commentary team set Moto2 wages Jake Dixon would be on 50 million per week.
I am happy to sell a spot on my helmet for $100 a year
Jesus!!! We are going to have to start a go fund me page for Fernandez & gardener then lol
Too bad you don't know a guy like Cal Crutchlow, I'm sure he would know :)
I can't give my helmet away, let alone earn 100K from it.
Oh, wait, we're talking about a that kind of helmet - sheesh, you young 'uns
Do moto3 riders get paid?
What do u know about motor GP rider's
so you dont really know
33 seconds
get to the point will yuh !!!
So at the end of the day you still don't really know how much a MotoGP rider earns😁
Boring
It's much better to give disclaimer, rather then, to repeat multiple times that you are not sure etc...
Mr Ambiguous. I've now unsubscibed.
I think your title is misleading ? It should have been “How” Motogp riders get paid , you just give guesses for the entire video.
I will say Motogp seems sort of Mafia-ish “. Why are most other sports so much more transparent ?
Given Taylor’s experiences his guesses would be better than yours.
Hard to take this video seriously when it is all pure guesswork, not sure why you have done this topic? As a love hearing about team management
