Let's be real, there are no losers in TT racing. Only legends.
here SANTIAGO HERRERO
And dead riders.
@@fredfriendly3452glass half empty debbie downer. Better to die doing what you love. Do those who fear living really live?
I feel proud to be a motorcyclist watching this, we all know the price to be paid if it goes wrong but The Island stands fast, True Freedom.
Fuckin gay lord 😂
I grew up in Armoy in the 70's and watching Joey Dunlop, Mervyn Robinson and Frank Kennedy doing the things they did all over Ireland and the Isle of Man with bikes hobbled together was an achievement in itself. Joey was and always will be the King of the Mountain and the ultimate Road Racer. If you didn't ever see the genius of William Joseph Dunlop on a motorcycle then you have never seen what a real road racer can do. He could jump on a 125, a 250, and then a superbike and smoke the opposition. Joeys 2nd 1000cc superbike win was in the Classic TT 1980 against the Honda works team of Mick Grant and Ron Haslam. Joey was on an old Yamaha with an oversize petrol tank that Hector O'Neill had welded up for him so he wouldn't have to pit but on the last lap the strap holding on the tank broke and Joey had to hold it with his knees in the final stages of the race. That was just a small example of his will to win that kept him winning.
I had the privilege of taking Joeys bike through the scrutinering when he won his first TT called the classic back in the day.
Wore my riding gear in to grocery store the other day and a man approached me in the checkout. Told me about riding the tt back in the 70s. I told him straight up not me, I couldn't do something like that. Hats off to these racers.
John is a legend without a doubt, however even John has an Idol and that was and still is joey. I stood beside joey as a kid up at the pits in Portstewart. The man was and still is the legend Joey Dunlop. Watched these guys every summer racing right by my Estate. These men are the reason why I ride today.
It was nice to hear John say joey Dunlop.
Joey won on so many different machines.
@Shaun fucking Auto correct 🤣🤣🤣
See a Yellow helmet and you know 💛
I have been riding motorcycles since 2002. I was 23 years old. The TT has and always will be the greatest motor race on the planet. I have dreamed about riding it, watching it from the road, and sharing memories with all the locals. I am really pushing to make it this year.
"I went for a ride there with [Giacomo] Agostini and on that ride I understood why, despite being so dangerous, the Tourist Trophy is so beautiful and legendary. It is very scary. But no, I would not like to compete there, it is actually too dangerous." - Valentino Rossi (Nine-time Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing World Champion). There are riders and then there are TT RIDERS.
Vale's no fool eh
It’s a wise man that knows his limitations. 😉
you quote that cheating prick about a mans sport? you'll be quoting wank gardner next.
It says nothing. GP vs Roads. Two different genre's.
To ride with Ago must have been unnerving!
I take my hat off to anyone brave enough to attack the TT course. It makes MotoGP look pedestrian and sterile.
It must be a very difficult circuit to learn and remember, mix one corner up with another and you are in very big trouble. Brave guys indeed.
They're totally different approaches to bike racing, opposite ends of fast bike spectrum... GP is bike technology pushed to its limit by a ridet. Real Road racing is the riders nerve pushed to its limit by tge circuit/bike.
They realky are verrry different
@@mikecartlidge5355 5 years is the average time.
@@fredm4197 I could well imagine.
what a silly comparison. How else do you waste your time?
The crown stays firmly on the head of the true king of the mountain Joey . Until it's surpassed but even the the range of machinery he won on . The true king. And I can only see his nephew as his successor the amount of wins in the space of time. Just the Dunlop's. But let's not forget fro 1st to last and to those that never crossed the line every one of them a champion of the sport for tackling an unimaginable feet of skill and endurance 👏👏👏👏👏
I agree, I genuinely think MD will match or exceed his uncles tally, he’s so good on the SuperSport and SuperTwin, with just those 4 races he’s in with a good chance of adding to his 21, as for the big bikes….it depends what he ends up riding, you have to look at BMW as being the bike to be on at present ….we will see 👍🇮🇲💪
Nobody knows how many Mike Hailwood would have won if his contract with Honda hadn't been used to stop him from racing for a decade at the height of his power.
But he won both before and after that enforced hiatus, and is alone the reason for the fine handling bikes we have today - the Japanese just kept upping the horsepower saying if you had enough power you could make up on the straights what you lost in the bends. And because they could also afford to hire the best riders, they got away with it.
Then Mike came back and rubbed their noses in it on the Sports Motorcycles Ducati privateer entry, beating works machines with at last one and a half times the horsepower on handling and sheer ability.
THAT feat showed the Japanese manufacturers that handling properly over bumps and through bends matters at least as much as having a high power-to-weight ratio, and it is since then that the Japanese started producing increasingly fine-handling motorcycles. He showed them what difference it makes, and changed mass-market and racing motorcycles forever.
No one else can claim that.
He’s got long enuf ahead of him to surpass his uncle joeys record , John has had an amazing career and although he’s not done yet he’s gonna find it very hard to beat joeys record with the current crop of upcoming talent as competition. Whether he manages to equal joeys record or not John is a living legend who’s record spks for itself. His name will always be in the history books where the TT is concerned and rightly so
@@kevinhughes1355 absolutely 👏
Totally agree with u. But kiwis and Aussies must rate high rod Coleman rob Holden rip graham Crosby bruised anstey! I biased but love the m all
I’d loved to have met Dave Jeffries, but I met McGuiness a few months ago at Brands when he had a go in a Ginetta, and he made sure to give me way more time than I’d expected, and I made him laugh a few times which was nice. An absolute class gent. And he’s still got it in him.
John is a rue gent who is as down to earth as u can get .quietly confident but without ego and both feet firmly on the ground . A true living legend .
That will be awesome. Meeting him!! 🙌🙌👍👍
@@lalispeedsparse4350 he is one of the most down to earth ppl u could meet , he has a great sense of humour and is easy to have a laugh and be relaxed with. If he finds u engaging then he will happily spend far more time with u than u could expect from someone who has so many demands on his time. He's never lost sight of where he came from and is well aware of how lucky he has been to have the life he has lived..confident but no sign of ego. A true gent and a pleasure to meet.
I knew DJ when he was a 16 years old heavy plant fitter apprentice - the nicest lad you'd ever meet, unbelievable on a bike - God bless him
Great Video....Been watching the TT since I was 15 in 1975 hats off to anyone that's ever raced there....Riders come and riders go, but the Island will always be there and people will want to take up the challenge.....I hope to watch for many years yet, already excited for 2023!
Perfectly put together. Used to go to the TT in the early 2000's. Managed to see David Jefferies on the Gsxr1000, Guy Martin coming through the ranks, John Mcguinness , Ian Lougher etc etc.. all of them heroes, all of them King of the Mountain..

The event is so man and machine. The top boys lapping at a brainbending 135mph laps. The risk is total. IMHO, anyone topping 100mph lap has a story to tell their Children. In this years races, I don't think anything tops Dean Harrison's ride. Two freaking high speed birdstrikes. Two. A smashed fairing. Balls the size of galaxies. I doubt many humans would ride to a great finish, on a smashed bike, and a double underwear wrecking set of events. Fucking epic.
Respect to every rider. Its a really special thing, and an ultimate challenge for a man / machine. And a note on the side car boys. When I was a kid, on the Island, I watched Hizzy and foggy go balls to the wall over several years, including the trick oval piston years on ultra trick honda's, and Hizzy on the white charger which created a legend. They lapped at @120 mph and people pondered if the limit had been reached. The sidecar boys are now lapping at 120mph. Absolutely freaking staggering.
This year, I'm there for the second time. Anyone that has this on his bucket list, just do it! Do it! It's giving me goosebumps months before and after. Even thinking about it or watching my own footage i made over there gives me goosebumps. It's so worth it!
The island is beautiful, and the all motorcycle people atmosphere is just amazing. It's better than at any GP race in MotoGP. Just bring something to do and kill time on that damn ferry 😂
What a review! You could always catch up on TT+ on the ferry... 😎
I'm only just getting into what racing is all about. So won't be affording going there this year. But I'm gonna pay for the live footage at least. But looking at prices to go there... isn't it £170 A DAY!?!?! 😮
@@stuttersoundsdepends where you stop and where you are travelling from. Some campsites are £15 per tent pitch per night. Caravans and hotels are much more expensive, but also hard to come by. Ferry from England is about £150 with return.
Joey will always be king for me. Hailwood was a hero when I was growing up (my dad bought an MV race bike from him back in the day). And given he only gets two TT races each year you’ve got to respect Dave Molyneux’s record.
Joey is the King. His 26 wins are real, no electrics padding his record.
He was also a true humanitarian and an amazing mechanic.
When I was growing up on the Isle of man its got to be Joey. And that yellow helmet HERO and side cars got to be molly thanks for your amazing racing 🏁 🏁 Paul greetings from Douglas.
The greatest race in the world with THE BEST riders in the world
Everyone that crosses that start line is a hero to me.
You see the yellow helmet and you know who it is 💛 RIP DUNLOPS!
John is for sure a legend, but Joey is king of the mountain.
Outstanding bloody outstanding ✊🏁🍾
The Greatest Sporting Event on Planet Earth!!❤️IT!😎👍🏻
Remember back in 1978, my bike gave up the ghost a week before the TT.
So desperate to see Mike Hailwood a friend and I drove to Liverpool in his van and parked it outside a relatives house got on the ferry as foot passengers were met by the rest of our pal's camped near Quarter Bridge. Fantastic sights and sounds. All who race the Island are true Gladiators of the sport.
Like gladiators!💪💪🔝🔝🔝🔝❤️
Best part about John Mc is he's still same genuine lad he always was never let any of the success change him, hope he rides for 10 mode years road races wouldn't be same without him!
And I just knew he'd be one to say Joey is rightfully king because he has more wins!
TT has got to be the ultimate adrenaline rush. I don’t think anything else compares. Man and machine locked into the muse. Pure art and so fun to watch!!!
i love bike, driving since 16...not a single thing makes me happier than that...my dream is to go and watch isle of man TT...
Brilliant
This is far beyond the level of excitement MotoGP brings me watching it. Like it’s not even close…
"If I jumped on a 125 now, it'd just disappear up my arse crack"

Farking GOLD!
Please more of these films, they are awesome!
U have plenty of money to sponsor someone to make more of them so feel free to help someone make more of them and keep up the good work.
this is the most insane race on the planet, makes you feel alive just watching it. could not imagen how insine it would be on a low fliying rocketship! best event in the world and hope to be there one day to see the legends at work! thanks for all of the years we can enjoy this epic event and to all the legends that are still on a never ending lap in our memories! rip hero's,love you all
They are all legends and have cemented their own legacy at the TT.doesn't matter if they win one or hundreds....you go out there and test yourself.had bikes for over 40 yrs.own a ninja 1400...i will never be a real rider,as idon't push it....these guys do,albeit under controlled conditions.respect to all that conquered the TT an condolences to those that were brave and failed.
Amazing!!!!!
Thanks for sharing.
IMO, anyone who races this course is a warrior. As a warrior knows, when they enter, battle it could be thier last.
Incredible to think you love what you do so much that you are willing to risk your life to do it. No different than many other extreme sport I guess. They are living life on the edge.
Kudos to all of them.
Looking forward to June 3rd.
Cheers
Living life at the edge of existence every millisecond of every lap. And being brilliant in doing it. Nothing matches those who excel in the Isle of Mann TT. There is no other race as challenging and beautiful in all the world. Pure adrenalin distilled to its purest form.
I hope to get out there one year to watch it its on the bucket list for sure
Mine too
U gotta do it guarantee you won’t regret it but if u Dont make it that u will regret I can assure u there’s nothing else like it and I’m born and bred Manx for almost 60yrs
Make sure you do it sooner rather than later. A lot of the epic viewing spots are now becoming restricted areas. But you need to get over - I absolutely promise you that you will love it. That first bike flying past will blow your mind.
We'd love to see you here! Keep an eye out at our official travel partner, Duke, for some packages that make visiting dead easy, so all you have to do is enjoy the racing! www.duketravel.com/isle-of-man-tt/
Norton 15 31 is dead right about that 1st bike flying past you shakes you. Even John Mcguinness says that you don't realise the speed of them until u feel them pass u when yr watching trackside. There's nothing else like it.
What an amazing documentary.. and fair play to John tipping his hat to Joey...!
Anyone who takes part in the tt is a hero 👊✊️✊️
"So, you race NASCAR and Formula 1? That's cute." - TT Racers
The greatest race ever. These are very rare breed of men to challenge the TT
Joey Dunlop has been my long time hero . I rode my busa from victoria down the coast to san fran and the shop who was kind enough to help me while i was in need was { Tokyo moto } they had a large painting of joey on the wall . much love ... cheers.
I asked , is that Joey Dunlop ? Yes . Slept on a couch for a bit and bike was fixed . Much love Tokyo Moto in San Fran .
I've never been to the Isle of Man, but I've followed the TT for 25 years. I'm also a rider and have been for most of my life, and been a fan of anything with 2 wheels since I was a boy. This doesn't make me an expert by any means. Joey Dunlop was on such another level that his riding made him untouchable! Who wins the TT at 48 years old? He was beyond a generational talent...3 generations more like! Just built differently from normal people. John McGuiness is not Joey Dunlop, but he's also built differently. I remember watching him one year and couldn't believe what I saw. He didn't look fast anywhere on the course, but he was so smooth and so efficient in his riding style that he could shave seconds off his lap times. Every year I pray for the men who are going to go out and test themselves on the Isle of Man - the last bastion of racing freedom.
As a young man, I dreamed of racing the TT while practicing on the back-roads of Tennessee. Much to the chagrin of local law enforcement in three counties. WFO
Joey was the Man
This was absolutely fantastic. As a fan for nearly 30 years, I thank you for this.
These men are truely a special breed they live life as they want kings of road racing without a doubt .
Wish them all to get through this safely
More of this please!
I've listened to Joey Dunlop and John McPint, both speak as humble men but their actions shout. I think that's why we rate these guys so high.
The island is one of the most magical places in the world, the TT is hard to describe but is breathtaking to see in person.
There is something extraordinary about these riders, I remember seeing Joey at a Skerries 100 waiting in line in some field, to buy a cup of tea at some tent.
They are just disarmingly humble.
They're all valid hero's and kings of the mountain.
I guess not enough reference to Mike Hailwood for me in the video, he's definitely up there with them.
All the riders are awesome 💪💪💪👍
one day soon i hope i will be able to move from CANADA to the island and enjoy the rest of my life and watch the race every year after right beside all the rest of the fans
Michael Dunlop will match his uncles tally I reckon….then there will be two Kings of the Mountain.👍🇮🇲
Maybe. But remember there were loads more classes in Joeys' day. Nobody will try harder than MD though.
@@colinstewart1432 More classes now…..2023…..Two Supersport, Two SuperTwin , Superstock & Super bike ….6 races for solos….5 back in Joeys day….125 -250-600-superbike & Senior. 👍🇮🇲
@@ManxAndy Really? What about 400cc supersport? What about singles?
@@colinstewart1432 the 400 and singles were run in conjunction with the other classes, so the 400 class incorporated the 125 class at the rear of the field, and the singles incorporated the 250s if I remember correctly, so a rider had to chose between one or the other….you couldn’t ride a 400 and a 125….👍🇮🇲
@@ManxAndy That's true. Well done you I'd forgotten that. 👍
"I'm not King of The Mountain, Joey Dunlop is King of The Mountain, he's the proper King of The Mountain..."
great John, unforgotten Joey.
It's an absolutely crazy race with absolutely crazy riders !
Even as I am a great race Fan, still don't know why they do that !
Wow, These are awesome.
The TT is definitely a bucket list item for me.. would've loved to have raced it back when I was racing.. but now I will be happy just to see it with my own eyes in person.
If not 2023, we'll see you in the hedges 2024 🙌
Dean Harrison is a nice genuine guy I've met him a few times at Scarborough road racing events and always has time for a chap or a selfie top guy
Great video again, thanks! Can‘t wait to be back! 😎 Legends, all of them riding there! 🤘
That reminds me: Still haven‘t finalized the 2022 video of our TT trip… 🫣
This and the Baja 1000 are my favorite races
LIVING. AND FEELING ALIVE. HERE IS ALL.
I knew a lot would say it’s John, but I also knew John would say it’s Joey. Joey was amazing but so is John.
I’m a big fan of John McGuiness but I think if he had lived, David Jeffries would’ve been right up there.
I agree with you, I watched and took photos of him at the tt and compared to other riders ( on the corners I photographed him) he was using more lean angle and aggressive lines than anyone else! That and having the weight to bully the bike gave him the edge on a superbike. Not so much on the 600, tended to break them! 😂 Good guy, sad loss.
got to love the respect shown between all of them
All riders racing are legends even before they start the race!!
Been riding for years gain experience and skills but these guys are way more than just humans and in another level. This is skills + courage 💪 huge salute brave warriors
Psalm 20:4
To all who ride in TT course, you're a LEGEND
There is no debate. All the riders are heroes, but the King is Joey. Full stop!
"If I jumped on a 125 it would disappear up my arse crack" - John McGuinness😂😂😂😂
May god bless all the riders of TT 🙏
Goosebumps ❤️🔥
🔥🔥🚀🚀😍💪
King's or not , they are all heroes.
Joey is top dog though with John and Molly close behind. What hickey is doing at the moment is outstanding but my all time heroes are Micheal and Bruce Anstey. I have been privileged to watch all of them
John got me into the TT his period of dominance was incredible
What a great video!
Interesting comments and of course you are greatly influenced by your era and number of visits to the TT , no disrespect to the many great riders, but Ian Hutchison's 5 wins in a week is still to be surpassed, this was a truly outstanding achievement. If he had not had an accident what were we yet to see, we'll never know.
First place or last place, all of you guys are men of men of men! 🍺💪🏽🇺🇸
Compelling when you see “professional video and journalism “ such as this … to illustrate the worlds greatest motorsport event. Well done ! 👍👍
Joey, Hizzy, DJ & Mcguinness. All seemed to have a level above their fellow racers in their day. Hicky will be hard to dislodge in the Superbike & Senior TT, but a certain Mr Dunlop will have something to say about that. All that really matters is that everyone is safe and well.
The greatest races on the planet. Nothing comes close to it.
One of my dreams is to rent a bike and take a lap on the Mountain Course. Not at high speed. Just a nice cruise around the track which will better answer all of the questions I’ve long had about this race. To ride Ballaugh, Sulby Straight, Ramsey Hairpin and Bungalow and all the other famous check points and back into Douglas would be emotionally astounding and I’d be able to really appreciate what it must be like to ride at WOT in this bonkers race.
Cheers to the riders in the best motor sports race on the planet from 🇺🇸.
I grew up on the Island and remember the first 100mph lap, but my best memories were the MV vs Honda battles between Ago and Mike (the bike) Hailwood in the 60’s. My favourite memory of all was travelling back to the Island from Canada and watching Mike H come out of retirement in 1978 to win the Senior on a privateer Ducati - real lump in the throat stuff!
John McGuinness is a true gentleman, at the NW200 last year he stood in his leathers for an hour, straight after the last race, signing autographs and chatting to punters, but Joey is the king of the mountain without doubt, he is a god worldwide in motorcycle circles, worked and maintained his own bikes, often into the small hours, smoking and drinking, turned up at the start likely de-hydrated and a bit of a hangover and blew away all the younger, fitter, healthier riders, and sometimes he won on a slower bike. Joey didn't fulfil the role of a corporate roll model. Genius
The riders in this event must have a switch in their brain they turn off when they hit that circuit. Hats off to all of them....
Love milkys choice of words to describe the TT 🤣🤙
A great TT rider..
Karl fogarty considering his wsb wins at the same era.
And Jim moodie, David Jefferies, Martin Finnegan so many great riders to mention
@MT10 HOOLIGAN agreed buddy, great great riders of the TT.
The fact its not a race as such makes it even more the challenge to the riders.
It's like being the fastest man on earth. Your number 1, all others are behind you.

Outstanding!! I would have given a lot to have been able to run the TT course when I was racing.
Fantastic video. These are the best riders on the planet in my mind. No other Motorsport gives me goosebumps but the TT sure does.
McPint is a legend, but Joey still stands out for me.
I put Joey Dunlop's number on my first ever bicycle with cardboard and marker pen. I was 6 years old. My older brothers didn't get it because they didn't know who he was because it was only GP and motocross on TV back then.
