I love this sunscreen! The amount you get for the price is great (I didn't love the smaller amount in this new version tho). Here in the Pacific northwest we just had a horrific heatwave and I wore this in 116 degree heat in our pool all day. I reapplied religiously but I didn't get burned! I wear makeup so the minimal white cast doesn't bother me that much. So this is the one I'll be sticking to for a while!
116 degrees!?!?! Very glad to hear you have a pool to help offset that!! 😱 And thank you for sharing that info - good to hear it’s a success story in the most important aspect: sun protection!
Nice Star Wars/Yoda setup and theme throughout! I wish the quote was taught in school. “Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” Such truth. 💞💞💞
I was suuuuch a Star Wars geek as a kid haha. Will never forget starting my religion degree and enrolling in Buddhism courses - it all clicked for me. The force is heavily inspired by Buddhist principles (and honestly? There’s some great wisdom in those ideas!)
I am so excited for this series. I just ran out of my holy grail (Purito Comfy Water Unscented) and am really struggling to find something I like as aswell!
The new formula left a white cast, burned my eyes, and looked horrible under my makeup. The old formula was perfection for me and was a larger bottle size. I’m on the hunt for a replacement mineral sunscreen now. 😪
I am so excited for this week. Sunscreens are my favorite thing to buy and test. But I don't need any. But! The ones I have I either (a) don't love or (b) don't love the price. I am making myself wait until the end of the week before I pick one. I always have pilling problems under makeup.
Right that’s been my problem forever - I feel like I’ve only loved expensive options (and I hate admitting that even to myself lol). But yep, there’s some good options coming up, and for less than $25/oz lol!!
I've been using this one for a while (looks exactly the same, but bought it last year), and I love it. Not sure if it's my favorite, but definitely in my regular rotation.
I really disliked the original Make P:rem. It wasn’t friendly for dry skin and it was a monster to remove. This version actually seems decent. Just ordered the Pestlo and another DDG, so it will be a while before I need more sunscreen. But I will put this on the list. ❤️❤️
So looking forward to these reviews! I have an extreme reaction to all things chemical for the most part. I am desperate to find a physical, water resistant and affordable sunscreen. I can’t wear everyone’s favorite by Australian Gold. It makes my face itch after about an hour.
The 'Casper the Ghost' look (that didn't go away) makes this product a no for me, as a guy who can't cover it up with make-up, wants to wear it/ be seen outside, and already looks quite pale i.e. people might start asking if I'm ill with this one. This a definitely a helpful vid though, as I'm not prepared to potentially waste £25 trying-out this sunscreen after watching it, even if some reviewers have suggested that it just disappears.
I heard that titanium is actually a better filter than zinc despite it only being a uvb filter. Source lab muffin beauty science. Also, I think it's easier to formulate a cosmetically elegant sunscreen using titanium than zinc, this is just my personally experience.
One of the reasons I love Australian Gold mineral tinted face SPF is that it's an excellent smoothing primer. And it's long wearing. I've heard Titanium Dioxide is supposed to be even gentler on sensitive skins than zinc, but I'm not sure that's true
I do think adding a tint is the best way around the white cast problem. However, I’ve really only seen one brand make options that are deep enough for deeper skin tones (Unsun cosmetics). It would be so nice to see a company cover the full spectrum in their tinted mineral sunscreen!
I really wish they kept the size but it's definitely more on the conscientious size and price for a south korean sunscreen. Also i don't see why they couldn't keep the all mineral formula. If the spf factor was a problem they could have just changed the packaging labels. 🤷♀️ anyways, thanks for this video. Very helpful!!
Thank you for the review. I was curious about this one, but now watching your video, I don't think it is for me, it has such a white cast even on your pale skin, and a bit too wet looking and shiny for my taste.
I used the original last year and liked how makeup wore over it but noticed the pores on my nose getting clogged. When I cut it out of my routine, the pores got better. Do you think this one would be the same?
Yay sunscreens! Did this irritate your eyes by any chance? I try to wear mineral sunscreens on my eyelids and forehead because mineral sunscreens irritate my eyes, but even with mineral i can become a teary mess if i sweat a lot. 😣
Omg I know exactly what you’re talking about!! The majority of mineral sunscreens betray me at the gym/in the heat. This one didn’t bother my eyes, but i also didn’t push myself too hard while wearing it (perhaps I’ll wear it when we pack the u-haul? The most extreme test!!)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole might be an interesting test! ☺ I'm also thinking about looking into mineral sunscreen sticks for at least around the eye area to see if it lasts a bit longer due to its consistency, but im currently lacking funds to do that atm. Maybe there will be waxes in there that might help it stick to the skin better rather than running into one's eyes. I'm quite determined to look for a solution eventually, lol.
@@quillpen815 sometimes you can find SPF (sticks & other) at Marshall's or TJXX for about $6-7. I just tried Aveeno mineral solid. It's very user friendly & easily portable! Neutrogena's version (clear zinc) is good also. The solids don't move around on the face IME. I use for reapplication on neck & hands. HTH
I bought this sunscreen recently but I haven't used it yet. (I have a plethora of sunscreens that I cycle through). Hopefully with a little more elbow grease, that white cast will go away--or like you suggested, maybe its the lighting with the camera that increases the whiteness. I'm not going to put foundation on to cover up my sunscreen since I'm actually going to be out in the Florida sun riding my bike and sweating.
Right that’s the caveat that I don’t love with this one - it’s a beautiful primer indeed, but I want a sunscreen option where I don’t feel that I MUST wear makeup daily!
Yeah, the white cast is frustrating! I think the only way around it with mineral based sunscreen is to add a tint. Would love to see a company actually make a full range of tints to cover all skin tones!!
Here is the thing, zinc being broad spectrum doesn't necessarily mean the broad spectrum of protection is strong. It is actually not that strong. Titanium on the other hand has a narrow protection but the protection is strong and it's easier to mix chemical filters with. Michelle from lab muffin beauty science said so. Considering this product is a mineral+chem sunscreen it makes sense they used titanium instead especially since they used some of the newer filters with better protection and photostability than zinc.
I was about to buy this sunscreen, but seeing how ashy it looks on you, i think i have to pass on this one. My tanned skin won't look good wearing it. If only they remove the Titanium Dioxide in it and replace it with Tinosorb S, it'll be an amazing sunscreen, considering they already used 3 new organic filters.
Right!? Or at LEAST zinc oxide - I really do not understand the formulation choice here! 🤯 (Check out the canmake sunscreen for the best of all worlds lol - SO good)
save yourself. this sunscreen is the worst spf ive ever tried. horrible blotchyness, terrible white cast, sticky and shiny and impossible to remove even with a oil cleanser. you will need to triple cleanse to remove it.
This would make a fun spreadsheet…… am I a nerd?
I feel like most of us who are into skincare are at least a little nerdy haha! 🤣

I’ll use this new formula for my body though, just not my face!
Ooh thanks for sharing! Might have one you’ll enjoy tonight, although it’s not as good on price point. Body is a good use for the make prem for sure!
It's funny because they still sell the old version of the sunscreen in my country. They're still available at the drugstore.

Nice. Especially the primer. Have a great evening. Don't work too hard. Luv ya❌⭕

Yeahhh not immediately for me! However, you might want to check out the Pestlo sunscreen if you’re looking to stay all-mineral. Now that impressed me!

I missed where you shared where you got this shirt. Please?? Thanks for this review/series as I been interested in trying new sunscreens! 💕
Ah sadly it was a Nordstrom Rack find so I’m not sure they make it anymore! But the brand is called Bobeau if that helps ☺️
