Criminally underrated group
The Black Crowes are a national treasure.
I don't always listen to the Black Crowes, but when I do, so do my neighbors
I’m listening right now, and coincidentally so are my neighbors as well!
Me too!!!
Yeah, baby!
There is just something about Chris Robinson.
Damn skippy
Tell me I'm wrong, one of the best bands of Rock & Roll & Blues.
Agreeeeed x
chris robinson is a doll and they are fabulous
Definetly agreed 🤟😎✌
Ehh. No offense to your opinion, but I dont think they’re one of the best. Don’t get me wrong, I like them, but I have so many more Rock & Roll/Blues bands I like more.
Just Dixie Blues .Yeah and they surley made your money maker shake.
One of the best underrated bands of the 90's. Their songs still kick ass!
I saw them in a small venue in Philly before they were even on the radio. People blew up the radio stations phones! That was back when you could call and request. They were on the radio in current stream the week after!
@Jax Teller You stfu
@@pookiepookie8669 The reaction of one audience at a small venue does not carry much weight in the bigger scheme of things.
@@kahlesjf - Back then, in Philly, it did. They were all over the radio the following week.
Love how this is a 90s band but sounds like it could've been released in the 60s. Classic sounds never die😄
Shake Your Money Maker is a masterpiece. This was the perfect opening track to tell you what you were in for.
Still my favorite song of theirs, all these yrs later. Backing vocal octave changes are a nice detail so many miss. However, what no one misses is that perfectly loud distorted chord coming immediately after the solo. Btw, they’re on Tour now in support of the new album. Going to see them next week in Houston. Catch ‘em if you can. 🤘
I'm an old hippie (Boomer). Grew up in the 60s and 70s. I had stopped listening to new bands. Then my son turned me on to these guys. I was hooked from the first note I heard!
Same here @Hwkfn69. I’m 66 and still rocking with the Crowes. First heard them in the 90’s. Real music and real musicians don’t fade away
Me too!
THATS RITE!!! 💯
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🤝🤝🤝
Steve Marriott decided he was sick of English blues-rock, and decided he was going to base his rock in SOUL. He forms the Small Faces with three other guys, but despite charting, he's not making any money. He quits, forms Humble Pie, and continues the sound. Won't get into the whole story because it's depressing.
Fast forward to the early 90s, and an A&R guy is watching the Black Crowes live, and he's like "ugh... lots of energy, good chemistry, but they're not... they need better influences." He passes Chris Robinson a tape of Humble Pie, says he represents a major label, tells him to listen to it and if he likes it, maybe they'll work together some time.
But they are around since 1984 though, they are hardly new. I'm from 1971.
One of the most underrated bands of all time. Robinsons voice is incredible
Where are you
He has that Steve Marriot sound
What a complete band: the sound; the song; the talent; the looks; the presence.
The 90s...when bands still rocked. This was the first album I ever bought, on cassette tape with my birthday money that year
Siþing outside freezing at 5am, re-thinkjng my choices, my life, STILL ROCKING😅
@@JulianneJohnston-wj1ivthat’s right! And through it all… we maintained an amazing taste in music. The older we get, the more we will absolutely look back at this music - most likely with our children/grandchildren… and we will still get the goosebumps and nostalgic feelings that I KNOW FOR A FACT evoke the few remaining bits of serotonin this Ole broad has left.
What a time to be alive, I tell you… 30-20 years ago yet it seems like yesterday 🥹💕
Rock out, pal🌟✨
"Shake your money maker" a jewel of album. All their songs are great.
💯 Fact's!!!
Came out in 1990, then in 1991 we got the Use Your Illusion albums, and Ten by pearl jam, and Nevermind by Nirvana. 2 best years ever!

@@Slash1066Blind Melon dropped in 92. The early 90s were an amazing time to grow up.
This is one of those bands that as soon as you heard one of their new songs for the first time, its like you'd already been singing it your whole life. Music doesn't have this anymore.
This was so my jam when it came out. I can listen on repeat. Getting my tix for the Houston show. Love it!
So well put...like an instant classic. And they did it for a decade. Amazing band
@@jennifermyers6995 kills me on the millionth listen. Loved it in high school love it now
I actually heard this song and band for the first time on the radio Today! I even thought how many rock bands do I not know! Anyone have a list? Please? lol
I have seen them twice the first time they had the Fabulous Thunderbirds is there first band in the second time they had Robert Randolph and the family band all of it was awesome
Damn you just don't get good music like this anymore. Let's go BOOMERS & GEN-Xer's ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Yes you do! You're just not looking hard enough!
@@tedwilson2844 by all means share your modern recommended artist. Be glad to give them a listen.
Whoever mixed this song is a bloody genius
Brenden OBrien!
@@flyingburritobro68 hell yea
I love these guys man,but I kinda favor the original lineup
The piano adds a nice touch as well
"learned" this on my 2 string Kingston when i was 15. I'm 50.
I can empathise. I'm listening to this in my parent's boxroom which was once my brother's bedroom where together we painted the Crowes' mascots on the wall, 32yrs ago.
As the years go passing by this song just gets cooler and cooler
the day that rock bands stopped doing stop-start dynamics was the day that rock lost so much of the feel that made it so irresistible
It sure does. 🥰
Truer words have never been spoken! 🤗💛
Props to my old friend, Dan, for introducing me to TBCs in the early 90s. 🙏❤
I agree!!!
Those blue boots are awesome!!!! Everything else about this song and video, super cool !

Dude and live I can't say enough so bluzzy and just great great sound of f÷÷kin great music...🤘🤘🤗
I agree, his voice is very soulful, he's got that cool southern thing going on, very underrated
We're putting the band back together. We're on a mission from God.

THIS is what real heart felt rock used to be. These young folks can't " cut no groove like this " fact ya'll
Honest Truth spoken here 👍
Look up “pressure cooking got me running”
Quite possibly the COOLEST opening 25 seconds to a song in rock history.. goosebumps!!!
Maaaan...
Love that beginning.
It's definitely up there
Slayer's "South of heaven" owns that title. But damn I love the crowes. First concert of my life with my mom and dad, Everlast opened for them.
@@TheKiCkBoXXXeR1 I gave that a listen - I think this beats "South of Heaven".
Loved this album ! The best debut in years ! The 70s vibe that combined the Stones, a little bit of Rod Stewart and the Faces and and a whole lotta rockin' blues, cocky and unapologetic and kicking ass!
Thanks for posting this!
Aerosmith
I remember first hearing the Beatles on the radio when my parents were away, I must have been 10-11 years old and I ran throughout the hose screaming, it was like I found something completely new. And then music changed forever, until it became complacent.
Then in 1990 at the age of 47, I heard this song by the Black Crowes, and I began to realize that Rock N Roll, straight up Rock N Roll was about to be risen from the dead. The Black Crowes are responsible for real music coming back to the fore in a time of Boy Bands, RAP, and Country music that was anything but what it was meant to be.
The Black Crowes woke up a sleeping world! Thank God above.
One of the coolest bands of all time.
One of the best debut albums ever.
I would agree, however, there was also Pearl Jam's Ten album etc.
The Crowes are a delicious musical enigma. The most talented rock band to be overlooked. It is a scandal in many ways, in many ways, it is their salvation.
I remember them getting a fair amount of radio and MTV play back then.
The Black crowes my remedy for severe depression that means they're on every day especially now!
I'm 42, heard them when I was younger but just now appreciate how bad ass they are.
When I turned 16 - the day I got my license - This is the song I cranked on my cd player the first time I drove to school. My first day of freedom 🤘
American Rock is a whole thing!!! WOW!!! What a sound!!!
I CAN'T BELIEVE!! THIS MASTERPIECE HAD 30 YEARS OLD!!!
i'm going back to the 90s
Make room.... cuz I'm coming with you LOL
I am a metal head at heart, but these guys are my indulgence of their music. The talent encompassed by this band is unsurpassed in their genre. Every song on this LP is fantastic. I will always be a huge fan. It's easy because this kind of talent and original style is nowhere else but with them.
I saw them the once and they are just as amazing live, if not better. Fantastic band
@@regnetexitium2247 I second that ! Just amazing .
There music goes on forever
Agree!!!!
@sarahjane9957 so do i
There's just an effortless majesty to a band like the Crowes. So cool.
May 2024 still melting my face off with this.
One the best bands to ever do it. 🤘
I forgot what a kick ass recording their debut was.
Still one of the most refreshing bands to listen too.
Most underrated Rock group in music history. Best of the best.
The Black Crowes, Ac/Dc, Pantera, Metallica! Monsters Of Rock! Moscow 91.
Fucking awesome! Love them!!
Awesome lineup for a concert that I wish I was there to see in person.
@John Tanner calma cara 😂
I still remember hearing this first play on the radio when I was little with my Dad I miss him so much r.i.p. Dad I miss you
My son is now 21 and on the other side of the country. He recently shared with me his very special memories of being 8,10 years old and listening to the music I had cranked in the garage (He loved Shake Your Money Maker) while he & his brother played and I worked on my hot rod. Many, many weekends of that. I know now he'll think of me when I'm gone as you think of your father. God bless the both of you, reading this gave me a melancholy but really special feeling. Thanks for that.
@@spamwagon badass music transcends time sir, I salute you for your kind words, would love to have a beer and an album listen with a couple of doobs with you.

Yes I think so!!😊😊😊
They were kicked off of that tour at some point. I remember that.
Me too! It was my first concert. I was 13 and I went with my parents lol! I'll never forget it, February 2nd 1991 in Toledo, OH. My parents were excited about ZZ Top but I just wanted to see these guys ❤

Reunion just announced! Tix going fast.
but w/o steve gorman. it's a fucking money-grab and the new drummer fucking sucks. he's got no groove and no swing.
No steve,Marc or Johnny. No dice
It will be interesting how long it lasts before Chris and Rich are fighting again. I love there music and there could've been so much more if they could get along.

I’ve been performing rock n roll since 1974. I’m 64 now. I’m from North Georgia. Still playing drums and the lead singer. I’m no professional judge of anything. But, I’ll tell you this……The Black Crowes super damn good! I wish real music like this would drown out the junk that’s being played on the radio. I don’t even consider the junk as music. It’s just noise.
I couldn't agree more.
These guys bring me back to my rockin roots. God Bless The Black Crows !!!
Mine to. They brought me back to the blues.
Chris love you
I. Love to see you soon Chris
Why this song doesn't have over 1 million views I'll never understand
Lets get it there then!!!!
It does now
Dreams come true
It has over a million now! :)

One of the greatest rock bands I ever heard. Incredible sound and amazing lyrics.
Lyrics:-
Clean as a whistle
Smellin' like a rose
She got no dirty little fingers
Bloodshot eyes are gone
Tell me I"m wrong
Twice as Hard
As it was the first time
I said goodbye
And no one ever want to' know
Love ain't funny
A crime in the wink of an eye
Your sister always singing
She play the step child
A broken little memory
Her heart was never kind
Tell me I'm blind
Yeah, bloodshot eyes are gone
Tell me I'm wrong
Twice as Hard
As it was the first time
I said goodbye...
To this day it sounds like “twice as harmful “ 🤣
Isn't it blood shot eyes all gone?
Thanks sir
Thanks
This song is like Doritos .. you can’t listen to it once... 50 to 100 times in a row
Just announced 30th anniversary tour for 2020 and the plan is to play their debut album in full along with “all the hits”.
2024 still listening. One of theee best bands ever, Raw AF
I don't always listen to the Black Crowes, but when i do so do my neighbors!
I remember our FM radio station DJ loved this band and album. He'd play the entire album..
The Crows & GNR saved music pre-Grunge
Br Greg you can never leave AC/DC out when you're talking about rock 'n' roll… LOL rock on brother
People don't give enough credit to Black Crowes for destroying hair bands. Even hair bands like Cinderella took note later on with Heartbreak Station. GnR and Black Crowes killed those bands. Seattle just killed the zombified corpses of them.
One of the best bands ever! Love their style and their stages for their songs! Love this song..
This sounds best on a Kenwood 5 disc CD changer In a glass stereo case

LIVE
They were the first band to come out in a long time that was pure rhythm & blues rock and roll that was truly great! I met Chris Robinson at a small club when they were just starting and he was really nice!
I got to see them in a small concert. Best of my life!
Me to. We fed them brought them back to the house. I got pics and etc.
The first time I saw TBC was at American Pie in Atlanta (small club indeed) in about 1988. I didn't get to meet anyone but I recall thinking, "Gah, this guys need to get signed!" They did.
yeah i met him at shoreline ampitheater he is a really nice person
I was home on leave in the early 90's. Got to see them live in Detroit with ZZ Top. But the best was seeing them on a small stage at the Ritz, a bar no longer in existence. Stood in line along with Chris Robinson for a beer. He was a class act all around. Miss those days!
May be it is time for a revival of southern style blues rock. It has been a longtime, very glad to hear this song again since my college year. Raw power, pure skilled and very joyful listening.
he tries to be Mick. he's still cool though
Check out Blackberry Smoke from Atlanta Ga.
The revival is way on already.

That came to be their own fault. The 1st album was so massive, it went up their nose and they weren't so cool all screwed up.

I still think it's one of the best debut albums ever. Front to back every song is great!
STILL CRANK this song as loud as possible each and every time!!
Love the Black Crowes!
My garage band back in the late 90s loved playing The Black Crowes... Rich is most underrated rhythm guitarist in rock 'n' roll... they were the best songs in our set list..... we played jealous again, twice as hard, hard to handle, and seeing things… Just brilliant straight through Rock 'n' roll rhythm and blues
As a gen-z-er....
This is fucking amazing.
most certainly one of the greatest bands of the early 90's. they continued on well past that but 1989-1995 was their peak. seen em' in 1992 it was fucking epic. if i wasn't unemployed and broke i'd go see them on this latest tour they're playing in my town in september.
80s and 90s had the best times of our lives..im my 20s then..so carefree..
