@mortb9, jealous of you managing to stay sober for as long as you have. Trying to figure my own demon of alcoholism. Just lost a friend 4 days back from alcohol related problem.
I remember first hearing the Beatles on the radio when my parents were away, I must have been 10-11 years old and I ran throughout the hose screaming, it was like I found something completely new. And then music changed forever, until it became complacent. Then in 1990 at the age of 47, I heard this song by the Black Crowes, and I began to realize that Rock N Roll, straight up Rock N Roll was about to be risen from the dead. The Black Crowes are responsible for real music coming back to the fore in a time of Boy Bands, RAP, and Country music that was anything but what it was meant to be. The Black Crowes woke up a sleeping world! Thank God above.
Seen them live numerous times, but when they toured this album I came to it by mistake.Quite possibly the best mistake I have ever made. They backed up Page and Plant I heard one note whilst getting served at the bar needless to say I never got the drink as I ran straight to the venue,I was completely blown away by them.Page and Plant was the reason I went I left being a Black Crowes fanatic.Superb live.I would go as far too say they were better than Page and Plant,.,.,.,.,.,.,Peace
@clint, 'This band' was a great example of our generations music and life. I remember partying to this song like it was yesterday. They were such an anthem band for us! I'm one of the lucky ones that got to live it.❤
I recall my friend calling me up in the early 00s to go see this band at Downsview park in Toronto and at first I was " Na, man I want to sleep". I eventually got my ass out of bed and head out the door. They were fantastic! SO glad that I seen them live! Will do it again, no doubt.
My garage band back in the late 90s loved playing The Black Crowes... Rich is most underrated rhythm guitarist in rock 'n' roll... they were the best songs in our set list..... we played jealous again, twice as hard, hard to handle, and seeing things… Just brilliant straight through Rock 'n' roll rhythm and blues
The last shot of rocknroll..... these dudes showed up.... and when they walked in ... out of respect ... never with their head up their ass. No no no. But as beginners they showed up like they had experience. But never said relax we got this. They pretty much said... this shit is for you and your gonna love it.... and baby we all did. Love you dudes who showed up when I was in shaftesbury High Winnipeg Manitoba from 89 to 92. All the kid their.... your welcome on behalf of the Black Crowes. Hard to believe this song was released in 1990 my dad was 21 I wasn’t alive yet I’m 22 I don’t dont listen to new music I listen to older country and classic rock really love southern rock I listen to rock 101.1 wroq big show on the radio they classic rock in upstate South Carolina I’m a automotive technician I play that in the shop on the radio but I could name 5 new singers music ain’t music anymore people I work with say I’m a 60 year old in a 22 year old body
May be it is time for a revival of southern style blues rock. It has been a longtime, very glad to hear this song again since my college year. Raw power, pure skilled and very joyful listening.
he tries to be Mick. he's still cool though
Check out Blackberry Smoke from Atlanta Ga.
The revival is way on already.
@@stevenellis8365 Thank you bro . I just did and they are fkn amazing.
@@danielkcarica7425 Yup, love me some good southern rock, but it never went away. Also, go check out Gov't Mule. Now!
Quite possibly the COOLEST opening 25 seconds to a song in rock history.. goosebumps!!!
Tell me I'm wrong, one of the best bands of Rock & Roll & Blues.
Clean as a whistle, smelling like a rose
Thanks to alcoholism ( I'm currently in recovery ), I just showered and shaved for the first time in three weeks. I kept singing "clean as a whistle, smelling like a rose". lol
Hope ur still sober ❤
@@sandrafry8268 Thank you. 🙂 It will be 6 months July 15th. : ))
Keep up the good work. Even if you fall. Get up.
@@darinhogan5712 Thank you. 7 months today. 🙂
Hell yeah 😎 one of the Greatest Albums ever from beginning to end
Seen them live numerous times, but when they toured this album I came to it by mistake.Quite possibly the best mistake I have ever made. They backed up Page and Plant I heard one note whilst getting served at the bar needless to say I never got the drink as I ran straight to the venue,I was completely blown away by them.Page and Plant was the reason I went I left being a Black Crowes fanatic.Superb live.I would go as far too say they were better than Page and Plant,.,.,.,.,.,.,Peace
I forgot what a kick ass recording their debut was.
Love the Black Crowes!
i love you black crowes. i want to see you in toronto. you rock. from karen lorenz
I remember our FM radio station DJ loved this band and album. He'd play the entire album..
I smoked so much **** listening to these cats in HS. Woo hoo!
I still think it's one of the best debut albums ever. Front to back every song is great!
Music is the soul of the body which is why the mouth moves the way it does
This band is just good. 2:20
Yes sir! Really underrated.
@clint, 'This band' was a great example of our generations music and life.
I remember partying to this song like it was yesterday.
They were such an anthem band for us! I'm one of the lucky ones that got to live it.❤
Shake your money maker album was unbelievably! Such great hits!!
This song is just........
Can't think of any words.chris's vocal brilliant.no reverb,gives me goose bumps.so well done😮❤
STILL CRANK this song as loud as possible each and every time!!
I recall my friend calling me up in the early 00s to go see this band at Downsview park in Toronto and at first I was " Na, man I want to sleep". I eventually got my ass out of bed and head out the door. They were fantastic! SO glad that I seen them live! Will do it again, no doubt.
REAL DEAL... a very underrated band... their music is pure gold
That came to be their own fault. The 1st album was so massive, it went up their nose and they weren't so cool all screwed up.
@Jax Teller yeah coming from a douche using Jax Teller as his name.. lame ass..
Need more Chris Robinson!!!!
What a band seen them live 1998 in Orpheum Theater in Boston, such a clean music
That original lead guitarist was the shit. I loved the solos on the first record. So soulful !!!
Doyle Butler most of it was brendan o brien the producer/engineer
Woody Bayer Where’d you learn that? I always thought it was Jeff Cease and Rich Robinson.
When did Mark Ford come into the scene?
Hays Hallman October 1991, his first studio Album was Southern Harmony
Ha! Chris messes with his brother at the end of the video (4:03). Pretty sure this was not scripted. Evocative of their contentious relationship.
This sounds best on a Kenwood 5 disc CD changer In a glass stereo case
6x9s on the roof of a pickup truck at a bush party
LIVE
I'm going to see you guys this summer if i have to crawl there!! 😁😍😘
Reunion just announced! We're waiting for them!! From Japan.
This is the way a band
should be.
This is Jason btw.... you know who I am during that Era at that school.
The perfect amalgam of the Stones with a dash of The Faces, only a little better, One of the best rock songs ever, Chris a vocalist to rival Paul Rogers and Ian Astbury only a little better! One of my all time favorite Rock and Blues bands. WOW!!!!!
My favorite Crows tune. Tremendous rock n roll band.
She talks to angels made go down under.. love you guys.. i haven't cried like that in a while
Good ole fashioned Rock and F-ing Roll!! Never goes out of style!!!
I know you are not going to get this kind of music 🎶 every again. Master piece
They open with this song on tour and HOLY SHIT!!!!
I used to sing this song with my last band. So much fun!!!! Never thought I would be singing a Black Crowes song lol
Got my tickets to see them next October @ The Academy Brixton. 18 years after the first time @ Shepherds Bush
Just finished watching a video of my band playing this back in 97. We did it really good
Only NOT Black Crows "good"!!
