Being a Habs fan for over 35 years now, Mr. Nilan you have always been one of my favorites. I have a lot of respect for Craig Ludwig and will always remember that one time that he held-up two guys (one in each hand) against the board during a brawl and it still impress me to this day. Thanks to both of you for being a part of my favorite team.
Loved Ludwig!!! I had read about him that he had played both Hockey and was a middle Linebacker in Football. The first time I saw him was at the Pionnier bar in Pointe- Claire village. I has just 17 at the time ( underage) and Ludwig had just arrived and still had a football player build. He was huge, massive legs standing there wirh his arms crossed starring down the place. We're like holy shit, who is that? This guy is going kick the crap out of everybody! I ended up speaking to him and he told me who he was. Years later, I would see him all the time at Cheers and buy him shots. Great guy!
I never met Craig, yet. But, one of my best friends knows him. I live 30 minutes from there. I love busting musky on the fly there. Pretty cool having a northern Wisco guy on! I saw his kid play at NMU his entire career. Great interview. You're a natural, Knuckles!
First time I saw Ludwig was with James Patrick, Dave Tippett, Phil Sykes, and Troy Murray at North Dakota on ESPN. I'm a Rangers fan since 1969/70 and was very interested to watch Patrick the Rangers number 1 pick in 1981.
Awesome, I had no idea your pod casts were on UA-cam. I have now subscribed. I used to listen to your show on TSN690, before they let you go. Miss you on the radio, but the cream rises to the top, and here you are again Chris, with more media for us Hab Fans to listen and watch..... Thanks Chris Nilan!!
Love this podcast guys! Also read your book Knucks...fantastic! I'm 50 years old and a huge Habs fan...everyone has "their team" a certain era that they connect with. For me it was 1984-1995 Habs...those 10 years produced awesome memories for me! When you have guests on from that era, I just love it. Brings back great memories...thanks for putting on a fantastic show
I enjoyed Craig Ludwig while playing in Montreal a solid modest type of guy. Made the Habs that much better when he was on the ice, like with Lafleur,Ronison Lapointe Nilan
Knucks and Stapes - Love the podcast. Knucks one of these pods please interview your Co Host - Stapes . People need to hear this legends story OMG. Also Stapes you gotta get some of your Russian teammates on a show. Russia stories are unbelievable.
I grew up a Habs fan . After my Family moved from Montreal to Vancouver in 68 . Later the Canucks arrived . I route for Both now . Just look at the Canucks 23/24 roster . How many will be playing for USA next World Cup or Olympics ?
Mr. Nilan...I've tried other hockey podcasts like Spittin, Cam and Stricks and other but luckily found yours and I love it. I recently subscribed and listen to one of your shows every day during my morning walks. You're one of the few interviewers who actually let the guests speak uninterrupted. Love you and your style of play when you were in the NHL.....but I've been an Isles fan for over 40 years....sorry. Keep up the great work and the awesome guests and interviews.

Ludwig, i freakin loved that guy, tough solid defenceman. Funny thing i don't think i ever heard him talk before.
I know, right
Me neither. Always wondered what he sounded like. Him and those big ass shin pads 😊
The pairing of Chelly and Luds was perfect. Chelly won his 1st Norris thanks to him. Bought ME a beer because I knew who he was here in Michigan haha

Childhood memories
Thank you for this interview … It’s an honor to see M. Ludwig #17 🔵⚪️🔴
#17 #30 does not exist anymore in NHL
Ludwig was a rock solid NHL d-man... here on a rock solid pod cast.
Loved Ludwig!!!

Now, there's hardly any bars in the W.I
I don't know what Toronto would be like 😆😆. Good one! We don't know either lol.
Great talker, sharp, love the stories. Thanks.
Ludwig was a beauty hockey player .. solid dMan.. quiet leader .. mean elbows! :)
They don't make defensemen like Ludwig anymore..what a solid player!
I agree... I think he was known as a great defensemen, but I always felt he was still underrated.
Christ the Canadian's of the 80's had thee best 'D' .
I am an Islanders fan, loved the year he played for us!
I see some similarities with Arber Xaehaj.
I never met Craig, yet. But, one of my best friends knows him. I live 30 minutes from there. I love busting musky on the fly there. Pretty cool having a northern Wisco guy on! I saw his kid play at NMU his entire career. Great interview. You're a natural, Knuckles!
So nice to see Craig Ludwig again thanks your three for sharing the interview enjoyed it brings back good memories :)
I always respected Craig, but today I learned so much about leadership. What a class act.
First time I saw Ludwig was with James Patrick, Dave Tippett, Phil Sykes, and Troy Murray at North Dakota on ESPN. I'm a Rangers fan since 1969/70 and was very interested to watch Patrick the Rangers number 1 pick in 1981.
Legend has it Craig was the Pantera connection with the Stars & was buddies with Vinnie Paul & Darryl Abbott. 🎸 🥁
Great to see you both! Super pcast once again, bravo!

Ludwig great dman there. The shin pads got wider and wider each season. Goalies loved this guy. Great chat guys. Ty 😊

Outstanding interview, Ludwig underrated player. Great stuff! Poor Jean Perron, he really wasn’t liked by the players in Montreal.
great interview as allways,go to the dep tabarnac, so funny. lololol
Ludwig was such a rock on defense. I was so disappointed when they traded him.
Please have Bob Gainey on a podcast, they are all part of your circle and dynasty!
He'll be on stay tuned...
Another great show! Thanks Chris!
Ludwig had the greasiest shin pads in the history of hockey.
Always enjoyed Craig's game 👍 Stay well 👍

Loved Chris from his start in the NHL. # 30 forever!!!
I remember the shot blocks with them giant shin pads haha
Love Luds! (and Knuckles oc)
What a guy!
The ultimate shot blocker
He said you can't eat Northern's.... but you can, you just have to fillet them boneless. Spring pike is my favorite.
Can't remember how much but I remember canadiens players saying Ludwig was a beast on the bench press.
Best podcast ever RK is
Ludwig Green were so steady for the Habs

Where is this podcast with Pepe that is mentionned at the end? I mean is there a new one? There was one last summer.
We've only had him on once
The only way to play defence!!
Hey Chris did you ever fight darren mcartey with the red wings
Great show
Thanks Russell
Ludwig, I have a signed stick from him during his short stay with the Islanders. He did not want to be here. Should have asked him why!
Luds could be very, VERY mean without being dirty or cheap. Tough, tough dude.
Can anyone tell me which coach they were refering to when they said Pudding Head??
John Perron
@@kellismith4329 I knew it.
@@joeyjazzjosh great stories for sure
John Newberry is or was a Firefighter in Victoria BC
John Entwhistle is alive !!!
Ludwig was a pretty rough customer himself from what I recall fro my beloved habe of the 70s and early 80s
How in hell do you not have hundreds of thousands of subs? You have THE best hockey show on the net.
I turned against Montreal the day they traded Luds.
nice
Who’s Poutine Head ??
