Mega Man X is an action-platform game developed and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was the first Mega Man game for the 16-bit console and the first game in the Mega Man X series, a spin-off to the original Mega Man series that began on the Super NES's predecessor, the Nintendo Entertainment System. Mega Man X was released in Japan on December 17, 1993 and was released in both North America and Europe the following year. Taking place a century after the original Mega Man series, Mega Man X is set in a futuristic world populated by both humans and "Reploids", robots capable of thinking, feeling, and growing like their human creators. Because of these complex attributes, many Reploids are prone to destructive, renegade activity and are thereafter referred to as "Mavericks". The plot of the game follows the protagonist X, an android member of a military task force called the "Maverick Hunters". With the help of his partner Zero, X must thwart the plans of Sigma, a powerful Maverick leader wishing to bring about human extinction.
With the transition to more advanced gaming hardware, series artist Keiji Inafune explained that the development of Mega Man X involved reinventing Mega Man through gameplay expansion and a more mature storyline while still maintaining the basic concepts on which the franchise was built. Much like the NES Mega Man games that came before it, Mega Man X is a standard action-platform game where the player takes control of the eponymous character and must complete a set of eight, initial stages in any order desired. Defeating the boss character at the end of each stage grants the player one new weapon that can then be toggled and used at will for the remainder of the game. However, Mega Man X adds a number of new features and makes radical changes to the original gameplay mechanics of previous releases in the series. These include allowing the player to dash along the ground, scale walls, and obtain armor attachments which grant special abilities.
Mega Man X has met with positive reviews for its gameplay, sound, and graphics, as well as its attempt to augment the aging Mega Man franchise. It is considered one of the greatest video games ever made. A longterm commercial success on the SNES, Mega Man X has since been ported to personal computers (PCs) and mobile devices, included in the North American Mega Man X Collection for the GameCube and PlayStation 2 (PS2), and released on the Virtual Console download service for the Wii, the Wii U, and the New Nintendo 3DS. The game also received a remake on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) titled Mega Man Maverick Hunter X.[b] Nintendo re-released Mega Man X in September 2017 as part of the company's Super NES Classic Edition, and a limited physical re-release for the SNES in celebration of Mega Man's 30th Anniversary due for release in September 2018 and published by iam8bit. The game is also included in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows.

Hey, it would look great on you if you made a megaman zero 4 playground
Seu cover é foda ! It rock's$$$$ !!!!!
Thanks for everything over the last few years. I play your music almost daily, it holds a special place in my heart and I consider to be the best cover music of its kind on the internet for this particular series.
My friends have also enjoyed your work even though they don't play Mega Man, even the ones who aren't gamers find the tunes catchy!
I know your feelings on X6, but I'd really love to hear your rendition of Gate's theme as just a single release one day. Think about it!
Nice profile picture
Pienso lo mismo desde Argentina. Escucho seguido estos covers. Demasiado buenos.
@@emblemadefuego20They really are special and stand out from everything else on UA-cam.
Wow, this one is a LOT more crisp than I would've expected compared to previous versions. Not that any of them were bad quality, but this one shines and is just a pleasant one to listen to.
I immediately was floored how good Vile's theme was.
I really love the new version of Zero's theme, perfectly rock'n roll!
He might be the first person on UA-cam to finally get a Sting Chameleon cover right!
I'm not a musician, so I have no idea what's so difficult or unappealing about it that barely anybody has covered it, and those who have played it badly. MET played it perfectly!
This ost will never get old.
Damn straight
Fuck no it doesn't.
Every. Single. Stage. Song. is. a. BANGER.
Ah, starting with Storm Eagle in the Boss Order, huh? Good choice! He's usually my first pick after I get the Dash Boots from Chill Penguin's stage.
You are only the second musician i've ever heard who can capture armored armadillo's theme so well. That makes me happy. ❤
Thank you!
_I can't believe my ears..._ these rockin' tunes sound even more faithful to Super Nintendo original!
Remember... both *Mega Man 11* and *Mega Man X6* _still_ await their turn.
And Mega Man Zero 4. Don't forget that one.
He has many times said he will never do X6 because its soundtrack is so horrendous.
@@phantasiaknights4980
_Then he's missing out _*_big time._*
"Horrendous"? Don't make me laugh!
Just listen to the tracks themselves before jumping to such conclusions.
@@phantasiaknights4980 what? X6 soundtrack is so great! One of the few things X6 got it right.
The funny thing is the Methouse 2 album has a car with the license plate X6NEVER.
Nice work, keep Rock Man Alive.
This is exactly what I wanted the Megaman X remake on the PSP to sound like! (unfortunately it didn't) I am so glad you're here to show them how it's done ^_^
Try the msu-1 rom hack, lets you play with this music (for real)
Happy to see another rendition of your MMX playthrough with recreated music and audio. Your works are beautiful gems among MMX covers. The talent in the audio while being synced with a playthrough brings new life to an old game. Thanks for this and I hope you are doing good these days MET.
It seems you have leveled up once again. I am truly in awe my friend. Zero's Theme, Boomer Kuwanger, Storm Eagle and the level select theme are all magnificent. Your work will be appreciated for a long time to come!
I got the msu-1 rom hack done. It is a good playthrough
It's wild but I feel that doing storm eagle without dash boots is a 1000 iq play because it actually makes the stage easier. No dashing means less likely to accidentally fall off the platforms. Mega man style. This makes me wonder why the devs put the boots specifically in penguins stage tbh. Also shoutout to showing mammoth stage before penguin, it's crazy how different it is
I've never seen it not frozen over before
Yeah that's how the stage is if you play it before beating penguin
Ohh yay! This is fantastic!!
Edit:: Was that an ocarina for the Hadoken capsule theme?! xD Caught me off-guard, I loved it. ^_^
Man, I loved v2, and I'm loving this version too, feels a bit closer to the snes ost, but I love both versions, you rock man! Thank you for this :D
😮😮😮 Dude, I thought you quit UA-cam?!?! HOLY S*** WELCOME BACK!
I'm amazed you made it through the last three bosses in the final stage without getting hit once. Very impressive.
I have never clicked so hard and fast in my life. Instantly favorited, THANK YOU for this!!!
Same
I can't say I was expecting a Version 3 of your Mega Man X GP, but hey, it's great to hear more of your top notch work, and I think everything sounds quite great here (the Boomer Kuwanger remix in particular is probably the one I enjoyed the most). Keep up the great work!
Let's GOOOO!!! I used to listen to these when I would go running in college, this'll be great!
Been listening everyday for a long time myself
this soundtrack was always a banger... and you just keep making it more and more awesome!
Love your work man. Looking foward from a Contra 3 Guitar Gameplay❤
Thanks!
This sounds so awesome, especially Storm Eagle's stage and it hits so hard from what I've already listened to, I'm going to have to listen to the whole thing when I get time
I love the themes for Sigma Stage 1 and Sigma Fight 1 and 2. They sound epic with these versions!
YAAASSSS
Thanks for including the title theme. I call it the most metal 30 seconds of the SNES sound chip. If it lasted any longer, the SNES sound chip would burst into flames.
Holy shit!!! This is so amazing! Megaman X is probably one of my top replayed games of all time, and I have to honestly say, I now have a new playlist for working for a long time without quitting headbaning! In all seriousness, each piece is incredibly well done without losing the essence of the original, like if you remastered each song in glorious rock/metal hd! Such a nostalgia blast, this is awesome! Honestly will be replaying this whole thing MANY times in the future! My deepest respects for you! Thank you for giving us this! You just earned a subscriber!
Yo for real? Thanks buddy, I just found your channel a few days ago. Kick ass.
Let'S GOOOOO!!! Much love from The Cosmic Neighborhood!! Your work is impeccable on these.
Can't wait for Megaman X Guitar Playthrough (v4).
Dude that Sigma Stage 2 cover is INCREDIBLE! definetly a sleeper hit!
My boi MET is back at it again! I missed seeing these!
I'm so glad you didn't hang up the guitar. I always love your covers.
OH FUCK YES, I knew I wasn't the only one who picks storm eagle as first victim. Love the playthrough!
Storm eagle is piss easy. Chill penguin is still first on the chopping block but this bird is directly after. And then it's on to flame mammoth
Really X-cellent job, man!
The MMX soundtrack always rocks but I think this might be my favorite guitar playthrough so far!
Oh, and btw: thanks for years of creating amazing covers!
Seconded! I have ZERO complaints 😏
man i wish there was some way to play these officially onto the megaman collections you have some of the best remixes around for megaman and thats crazy cause megaman remixes are crazy good.
Actually there's one person who has modded other Legacy Collection games with my music, I just asked him about a possibility for making a mod for X1
I just finished a rom hack for just that! But it is for snes rom
Thank you! This sound superb and I’m going to be listening to it a ton.
Also weird seeing a run not start with Chill Penguin.
Megaman 7 (V.2) 🙌
Good to see you back it friend keep on rocking!!
Always a good time to sit down and watch a GP. And now that there are GPs of both, no one can complain about which version you played on.
Thank you, and hopefully this was a good way to dip your toe back into making covers again.
Going to make your extended versions of this one too?
@@Zer0.-_ Probably, though I like to wait at least a few weeks so that traffic is focused on this and MET's other socials (for lack of a better term at the moment).
@@Ruzkiel makes sense.
Listening everyday sinse i discovered you Channel !!!!! THanks alot for your work ,,, much love and money of The universe for you!
Glad to see you back making these again.
I freakin’ love your playthroughs, sounds incredible as always, this is my favourite soundtrack from the X saga. Keep rocking bro!! 🤟🏻
Definitely the best mega man tunes on youtube.
57:28 LOL the most underrated heavy tone
amazing cover man, keep up the good work! I noticed megaman x wasn't on spotify.
The ocarina section was glorious xD
I really like the new rendition of Launch Octopus' stage. Excellent work as always my man!
I liked the previous version of this album, but I hope you have time to make a Mega Man Zero 4 Guitar Playthrough. It will be cool!😎
Hell yeah, Mega Man X version XXX
😳
Incredible work dude! Pulling off the whole ost is no simple feat. I cant imagine the time it took to put this together. Good stuff!
This is True Remaster Sounds! Awesome!!!
I thought I watched this already until I noticed the v3. Good listen whether it's the first time or once again.
After what I thought was an already best version, you somehow found a way to best even that! Love it! 🤘
Epic bro
You guys are amazing! I love your music!
I love your arrangement the most!
Thank You!🙌
Same
The absolute accuracy to the original is PERFECT
Bought lots of MET's stuffs, bought V 1 of this once, and my husband and I are buying it again 😋
X1 never gets old. Thank you so much MET!!!!
sounds pretty cool. i want to do this soundtrack in a surf guitar style someday.....guess i better start practicing though, lol.
the only thing i have to say about this.. goddamn masterpiece is..
polska gurom
Even Sigma rocks to this.
Million Tanks for this work! Brings back lots of memories
Awesome!!!
Let me say that you could maker Version 437 and I'll STILL love the shit out of these kinds of vids. Keep up the excellent work!
Sigma is gonna rekt for the 3rd time.
FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This spark mandrills joy
24:41 'The Best Level''
I remembered your very first 2014 X1 covers in Mp3. Now It's like a mix between this one and all the last V2 GP. Clearly the best sounding guitar tone with great variations you've done. After listening it two times with good materials, all the tracks are nicely done with very good and clear sounding. The add of piano/synth is also important to gives more intensity and emotion so it's an excellent work dude.
SNES had an ability to play CD music with an addon. Emulators would let you use custom music using that feature. couldve had a real playthrough with the music in it
Should do penguin then storm eagle in game first. For dash.
Excellent cover, probably the best I've seen on UA-cam and love how you set it up with actual gameplay
Can't wait for Megaman X Guitar Playthrough 4
AWESOME MAN!!!
I still waiting for guitar playthrough of Street Fighter :)
WOW! Astounding sound quality and play ! This really rocks, kudos man.
Wish someone could make an MSU1 patch for the game with this soundtrack, it wold be awesome.
Man this is so good, and you get better every time!!
UA-cam revived, bastards! Te amo , DUDE!❤
yeeees!!! yeeees!!! this dude really rocks!!!
Hahaha!! Let's fucking go, Krzysztof!! Awesome GP as always!! So stoked on what's the next project!
57:30 XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I love how you can tell that this playthrough was done for the sport of it. Perfect compliment to the incredible music. Thanks for making this.
🤘🤘🤘
very solid composition my dude! what tuning did you play these in?
Heeeelllll Yeeeessss!!! Rock on Met! 🎸 🤘
I think musically I liked the earlier versions better. It seems some echoes are too strong/loud and the strings seem to make it sound chaotic at times.
Also: In Sigma Stage 1 You can just slide into those bumpers and press forwards to get through. The stage is designed in a way that you get through this part. Have faith =)
the best mega man music ever??
Was not expecting you to go after storm eagle first.
Superb work
Ridin' on cars!
Once again they're amazing. Great job Met, hope you're well 🤙
I was HUGE fan of this game! I played this game nonstop. You did this amazing OST justice! Can't believe it's 30 years old now!! =0 Do Mega Man IV now!!!
You mean the gameboy one?
excellent!
Out of all the first items i got while playing MMX I NEVER got an extra life to begin with!
Amazing! I love Mega Man X so much
I might buy this version on Bandcamp... Again.
I'm listening to this while working :)
This is fantastic
Awesome bracky
