They are 3 lives. After the 3rd you can pick Hadouken. The trick is to see completely the spot, if you fail even for a pixel, it doesn't count. If you have seen speedruns, thats why they always pick up the 1up as you start with 2 additional lives, to have the 3 minimum extra 1ups to pull off this. The most funny thing about this is that is one of the few speedruns that doing the game 100% is faster than doing it any%.
@@D.Ryback I don't know exactly how much about the spot have to be seen to trigger a count for hadouken capsule, but I'm not wrong about the 5 times this spot to be loaded, the lives doesn't matter, if you repeat the entire stage triggering the spot 5 times without dying, at 5th time 100%+full health the capsule will be there.
About that I tried to use Hadouken to 1 shot Sigma's 2nd and final form in this first game the game itself didn't allow it to connect and when it does it won't KILL him instantly so I still had to use Rolling Shield.
Looking forward to the X2 TASes, It really shines with how many of the weapons can help with movement. For the longest time it was fastest to do 100% since the time spent to collect the extras was so little compared to the reward for doing so. Now it's just more incredible that there are enough ways to save time without needing to.
Typically, i despise commentary while watching speed runs whether by TAS, or a real person, however, i actually enjoyed your commentary, it made the video fun 😊👍🏻 Thank you
22:25 to explain why using the ice platform skips the boss fight completely, the camera would pan up when you're close to the door, since you're not letting the camera pan up, it won't let the boss intro play out thus skipping it in general, you can let it play by jumping at when out but that would cause...interesting results don't know if i explained it right but i remember doing it before
But since you can't use the Hadouken with a weapon active, you have to do the Hadouken motion, pause, switch back to Buster (which despawns the sled) then frame-perfectly press Fire as you return to gameplay to do it.
It is actually faster to get frozen by Chill Penguin. If you don't do that, he'll jump up to grab the ring at the top, making a blizzard happen in the boss arena, and while he's doing that he's invincible. So it does actually save time to get frozen because you'll be frozen a couple seconds versus having to wait 30-45 seconds during which you can't do anything except wait for the Chill Penguin to finish the blizzard attack.
Okay so the explanation of why x takes no damage climbing up the spike wall in kuwanger stage is because of how tas hits the spikes. If you hit the spikes while your horizontal movement is NEUTRAL the game doesn't register the damage but still provides the s from the free hit, likely because the game checks for horizontal velocity. the same thing happens if the player stands on the far right, faces left, and neutral jumps. The "hits" tas takes are not a matter of being frame perfect, they're a matter of having no velocity and facing away from the spikes to be able to damage boost and climb
Yeah I'd enjoy watching your reaction to the TAS for the first 3 X games at least. Also would be cool to see the current WRs. Shoutout to Tokyo90 who has any% wr in X1 and X2 and is currently grinding X3 on twitch.
Wait, is skipping the re-fight against Boomer faster than fighting him using the Hadoken? I get why the re-fight is skipped in the Any%, but the skip seems to be taking a bit longer comparing to just blast Boomer with the Hadoken.
i thought the hadouken showed up if you just make it to the end and die before the boss door...it shows up next pass, as long as you have all the items.. but i haven't gotten the hadouken in a while, so i dunno
You have to die near the area of the Hadoken 5 times, making sure you have have all the upgrades before the 5th one, that's why TAS collected it on the last death and not afterwards.
You don't even need to DIE just using the item that warps you OUT of completed stages is GOOD enough as long as you have full HP and the Robot masters weapons are all at 100% energy when you make it to the end BEFORE warping out.
No. And if you use some kind of cheating to kill everything in this game in only one shot, you won't be able to defeat Vile. He doesn't even have healthy points.
I'm playing thru the X collection for the first time after soaking in the lore and I'm coming to this video to see how tas beats the miniboss for the body parts. doing it after chill penguin and spark mandrill rn, just kinda want the parts :D
I gave you a like and subscribe please post all the tasks mega Man x speedruns for the whole series this has been my greatest indulgence since I started watching these types of videos you made
Postin again that in your upcoming _"No dash X-trilogy run"_ you may use a dash if there's a place that you otherwise cannot get through. Suggestion: Why not make it more challenging by not using boss weapon weaknesses (on the bosses) _"no boss weakness run"_ at the same time?
Ok so before we go to MMX2 should you do megaman maverick hunter X so we can compare if there are any differences between this and the remake? Love your work
My theory on why megaman can't teleport is that you can just block the signal of teleportation with interference, but it's not perfect and there's spots that you can teleport to. Of course, that don't explain checkpoints, unless its hard to recognize those spots until you're in em.
So I will watch Any% and 100% TAS runs of all of the X series inluding the Xtreme games. TBH, X5 and X6 are my least favorite but I am hoping those TAS to be wild. Eventhough I think X7 is not that good of an X game I like it better than X6.
That jump in Flame Mammoth stage is ugly. I've done it Iceless but it still sucks. Edit: Did you hear about the man who invented the "Knock Knock" joke? I heard he won the no-bell prize.
Mega Man 7 has cool easter eggs. In Junk Man's stage you'll see FAMICOM consoles in the background but those got removed in the anniversary and legacy collections. Rush could also dig up Game Boys.
Using an emulator you can advance the game frame by frame instead of full speed. This means you can do inhuman reactions like frame one inputs for every single action in the game. When you watch a TAS you're basically watching the collection of frames at full speed.
A few Easter Eggs for you: The Final Sigma is a reference to Gamma from MM3. When you do MMX3, listen to Guns N Roses "My Michelle" before Neon Tiger. The devs were such GnR fans they put one of their songs in X3 and localized the mavericks in X5 as GnR members and crew. I make that reference every time Stephen "Squid" Adler plays my venue. Also Infinity Mijonin in MMX6 has a remix of Europe's "The Final countdown" I believe Squid Adler is Launch octopus' brother or cousin, and there is a relationship between Storm Owl and Storm Eagle. They mention it in the dialogue if you play as X, but not as Zero In some X series games that feature the new battons, there is usually a classic series Batton that drops a i-up when killed [like the one in Armored Armadillo] X5's Fource Armor is a bad localization of "Fourth Armor" as you get to choose to start with fully upgraded X from X4 [minus tanks] or Base X with just Dash Boots and Energy Balancer
‘Mega man is left to sit with his thoughts.’ Nice.
About Hadouken: You have to load capsule spot 5 times, but on 5th time you have to have 100% and full health for capsule be there.
They are 3 lives. After the 3rd you can pick Hadouken. The trick is to see completely the spot, if you fail even for a pixel, it doesn't count.

100% is not faster than any%.. WR for 100% is 34:38 and WR for Any% is 30:54
@@fly1010 I seriously doubt it, as I saw it being sub 30, but if you say so...
huh? those are the world records listed plain as day on the leaderboards, also I ran MMX 100% for years, trust me 100% is not faster than Any%

"Substitution Jutsu" Is the FUNNIEST way I have ever heard someone describe Stale Reference Manipulation.
I have absolutely loved watching these TAS videos and looking forward to more :)
Did you know there's a TAS that completes the entire SNES trilogy simultaneously with just one set of controller inputs?
😮🤯
I love that this channel has been about TAS speedruns for the past 2 months.
Last time I saw TAS (2022, I think) he glitched through a wall in real life.
I hear TAS only wipes his ass once a year, on Mischief Night, in a tree!

Yeah because you're playing the original SNES version.
@@veghesther3204 In Maverick hunter X, the Hadouken will just one shot both of Sigma's forms
Your commentary on these TAS videos is fun to listen to! After you do all the Mega Man games, you should find another series to review next!
2:36 "You must collect all the energy from Italy, M-Mega Man..." 😂
I wish I had hands like TAS that guy is a machine
Partly true
yo! watching TAS is always super fun but your comments make it a lot better! thanks for the videos!
Here's a bad joke. Why was Kuwanger the last one to join the Sigma rebellion? He was a late Boomer.

I can't come up with a joke better than the boss' performance in this TAS.
I think I spent more time messing up flame mammoth's capsule than any other x upgrade
C3 in a TAS is absolutely wild to see good lord that was clean
X got inside that capsule to hug Dr. Light!

The Capsule Remix hack lets you play X1 without backtracking at all if you play the game in certain orders.

He created a frost sled to stand on.

Chill Penguin to Flame Mammoth about the Dr Light capsule, "Let it go."
4:35 I thought you could only get that heart with the boomerang weapon.
8:52 I hate that jump too
20:20 especially with the hadouken
There is also a ice slide glitch to get boomer kawanger heart tank.
You can also use the Shotgun Ice Charge Shot, ride it, and reach the heart tank like that.
You don't its just easier WITH IT.
Can’t wait to see Tas burn MMX7 to the ground 🔥
Me too, actually even nowadays there's no X7 TAS made and X8 is quite new.
25:15 I choked 😂. From someone who playing this game many times this speed run and hadoken used is wild!!!

You can break the blocks with a wall kick.
