Verse says "saved by grace through faith". Faith in WHOM? Faith in Jesus. You don't have faith in Jesus unless you OBEY Him. It's so Simple but people want to complicate it cause they don't want to OBEY Jesus.
There actually 3 principles in my family on how salvation works, idk if any of reader will react but this is only inside my own family. 1. Do what God told you to do (10 commandments and loving other human being as it is describe as loving your neighbour) just by doing this we are loving God and in His love too. 2. Stop doing bad. If you knew what you are doing is bad then stop and only if you have a proof what you are doing was right thing to do then fight for it. 3. Because, if what you have thought is actually wrong, Believe in Jesus he know you have tried your best and forgive your mistake if you really sorry for doing that and willingly to stop doing that wrong again. This is basic rule to complement thankfulness for life we had have now. We thanks Jesus for saving us from our mistakes, and it is our time to straighten our behaviors so Father God would willingly accept us in HIS house too.

So all I have to do is find the AARBC (Are Association of Reform Baptist Churches) manifest and call five pastors from five different churches on that list. And I could get five no(s) in a row out of thousands. My church is already one of em.

Can I request readers to refrain from linking the topic of obedience to obedience of the Sabbath. Those who insist on keeping the Old Testament Sabbath as part of obedience do not understand God's order at all. Those preaching the Sabbath labour under the wrong belief that the 10 Commandments are still applicable. I don't have my bible here with me but reading 2Corinthians 3 here Paul compares two gospels; that of death which was "written and engraved on stones"(10 Commandments) whose glory was passing which when the Children of Israel saw Moses carrying it ran away. He compares this Gospel with one gospel which exceeds much glory. No doubt that the Gospel of death was the 10 Commandments. Galatians 3 and 4 clearly states that Christ would never have stayed together with the law since the law requires human effort for righteousness whilst salvation through Christ is a promise. Reading Romans 5, 6 and 7 Paul answers the question why we can not murder even though we are no longer under the law. Had the 10 Commandments been applicable this explanation from Paul would have been unnecessary. The bible teaches that the Law was temporary until the seed which is Christ. Why therefore make this temporary practice permanent? Colossians 2: 4 clearly mentions the Old Testament Sabbath as something that I can not be judged on. Romans 10 says the Law had the shadows of the things to come. For example in the Old Testament there was Solomon's Temple which was the shadow of the real Temple, the Levitical Priesthood which was the shadow of Christ's Priesthood, the blood of bulls and animals which were a shadow of the real blood(that of Christ) etc. Likewise the Old Testament Sabbath was the shadow of the real Sabbath that we now work for. Please read Hebrews 4. It clearly states that God never rested several times (like they did in the Old Testament) but worked once and rested once. We are now called upon to do like God( work once and rest once). Read Revelations which says "Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord for they shall REST from their labours and their works follow them. We are now working with the promise to rest. So leave the Old Testament Sabbath and start working towards the real Sabbath(rest). The Priesthood of Christ is here and are experiencing the real things. Leave the shadows please. Paul in Hebrews 4 says the promise of rest (Sabbath) still remains. He says had there been any rest in the Old Testament God would never have spoken of another day (when he promised rest to some and to some that they shall not enter his rest). I think I have helped many. Forget the explanation on Constantine changing the day of worship. I think I can explain but not now. Don't make a mistake please. All the 10 Commandments are still applicable so to speak. The difference now is that they are, if I may say, stricter than they were in the Old Testament. Remember in the Old Testament you would be righteous if you did not sleep with someone's wife but now just the lusting of someone's wife is a sin. Just a thought of murder etc is a sin. Now we clean the inside so that there is nothing bad going on in the inside which may ultimately manifest on the outside. If no lusting then there won't be any adultery. If no evil thoughts there won't be any murder etc. This is the point Paul tries to put in Romans 5, 6, and 7 that although we are no longer under the law we can not find ourselves to have sinned. Because we're now clean inside. Remember the bible says that the law came to teach us sin. It was meant to take us to Christ. The reason we do not do evil now is not because of the 10 Commandments but because we are in Christ period. i.e. we are holy for He is Holy! As of the Sabbath we continue to work so that we enter the real Sabbath(eternal rest). Therefore in this sense we keep the Sabbath but not in the form of working and resting many times(every week). We now work once and we will rest once. Remember in the Old Testament many of the things were done several times e.g. every now and then there were sacrifices for sins, every year the High Priest entered the Temple, every year the blood of bulls had to be sprinkled in the Holy of Hollies etc. Now the bible tells us Christ(the real Sacrificial Lamb) offered His blood once, entered the Holly of Hollies once, sprinkled His blood in the Holy of Hollies once and sat at the right hand of the Father. Where in the New Testament was the Sabbath repeated? The moral laws are still for today, and they will never go away, but the Sabbath is not among them. We are under the Law of Christ, not the Law of Moses

Please read slowly without rush all my comments. In particular read again the whole of Hebrews chapter 4. Read from as many translations as possible not one. In Short Hebrews 4 talks about the real Sabbath(where we will do like God by working once and resting once). Read it in conjunction with Revelations 14:13. In sum don't observe the Old Testament Sabbath(I.e. don't rest every Saturday). Observe the New Testament Sabbath. Work and when you are done with your work the Lord has promised rest (Sabbath ). So from my comments we can loosely conclude that we are bound to keep all the 10 Commandments although not in the way they kept them in the Old Testament.
Context, context, CONTEXT. Jesus spoke that to those under moses as a minister of moses . We are not under the law but under the ministration of the Holy Ghost. We need to obey the Holy Ghost, the NT ordinances and the commandments of Jesus

@@onerealityofficial Jesus came to remove moses so He could usher in the kingdom of God, but He could only preach the kingdom of God in fine little pockets since He had to be 10000% obedient to moses law. John 3:16 pertains to saints of both covenants, but the sermon on the mounts and the "Lord's prayer": not for us. We follow Paul like 1 cor 11:1 says since he is a minister under the new covenant. The thief on the cross is in Heaven today and all he did was believe in Christ. I suppose you think if Peter died at the moment he denied Christ, he would have gone to Hell?
Why was the thief saved? He had godly sorrow that worked repentance unto salvation. (2 Corinthians 7:10) The thief made the decision to follow Christ. Ask Jesus if peter would be saved and here’s what he would most likely say. @@aldm1967 Have you considered why Jesus asked Peter 3 times if Peter loved Him? 3 times Peter denied Jesus and 3 times Peter sorrowfully urged His confession of love. Just as Jesus was deeply grieved over Peter's betrayal, so was Peter deeply grieved over his actions & his love being doubted. Repentance was in order. Jesus said, since Peter again proclaimed his love, he then was called to action, when told to feed His, Jesus, sheep. If you love me, prove it, by being obedient in what I tell you to do. Do you not see? The Holy Spirit had not been sent yet, for Jesus had not assended into heaven. Jesus personally made certain Peter was confronted with his sin and brought back into a right relationship with the Father. Because Jesus loved him as a friend and a brother. When we sin today, we are confronted by the Holy Spirit, so that we are made right before the Father by Jesus who, as our High Priest, interceds on our behalf. Jesus interceded for Peter and He will do so for us, however, as it is plain in scripture, we are to walk in obedience and not willingly keep sinning. Obedience is not required for salvation. We are saved by grace thru faith . That's it if we are truly saved we will desire to walk in obedience but obedience is not required to get saved its faith alone

I love how people always add works that are not there to fulfill their pride. Jesus said you will live. He NEVER says in that passage you will have eternal life. In the old testament people who followed the law lived and those who did not died it had nothing to do with eternal life. Jesus says in Joh 3:15 all who believe (nothing added) have eternal life.

RAZzullix I read the Bible a lot. I’ve been reading it *almsot* everyday for a few months now. I have been sinning less. I’m closer to God then before. I think I’ve repented. I’ve told God that I know I sin. I ask for forgiveness. It’s the couple times I sin, like when I say something off the top of my head, but then I feel like it’s rude, I start criticizing myself. It may be harder because I’m mildly autistic, maybe I have a misunderstanding of rude. But I don’t want mild autism to dictate my life, although I’m thankful for it because it has some benefits. Anyway, I am changing myself, it’s the fact that I am unhappy because I still do sin. I pray for guidance a lot do. It happened only a few times, but I want to stop sinning in general. Rom 3:24, Rom 5:18 both tell us that we are CONSIDERED righteous before God. This means that BECAUSE of what Jesus did for us on the stake we now have the ability to be considered righteous through our obedience of the Torah. Eph 2 tells us that we are now part of the Hebrew family, not through circumcision but through the Messiah. As Gentiles we are adopted into the family of Elohim and have become new creatures which are graphed into the root system Rom 11. What is the Family? What is the root system? It is the Hebrew family of Elohim and with that family come a set of laws that are there for us to obey which is called the Torah. Mat 5:17- 21 Jesus says he didnt come to abolish but to fulfill and warns that no small thing will be removed from the Torah until the everything that has to happens happens. And warning that whoever teaches that the Torah is done away with will the least in the kingdom.

Christ said do these things and you shall live. The man said he has kept them all his life. But Christ knew he didn't, so he tests him on the 10th commandment. The point was Jesus was showing not to depend on their efforts but Him for eternal life. Just like what we see in Galatians 3:24 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." The law was never given to save anyone but to show you can't keep the law according to God's standards and you need His son for salvation. And believing is not just an intellectual understanding but believing in the heart which produces the fruit of obedience of which you think is for salvation but rather comes as a result of salvation.
Of course keeling the law can't save us cause we're sinners. Saved by "grace through faith". Faith in Whom? Faith in Jesus. You don't have faith in Jesus unless you OBEY HIM.
That's an easy one. The man is claiming to have kept the Law perfectly since his youth, implying he is sinless. Jesus said rightly that if one keeps the Law perfectly, they will have eternal life. Then Jesus turns around and demonstrates his sin by telling him to sell everything and follow Him. The man was in sin, not keeping the Law perfectly, and exposed it publically.
Reading any part of the bible is only getting one side of the story. Kinda like only listening to one person on the phone and not hearing what the other person has to say. We really don't have the full picture when we read the bible especially the New Testament. Jesus spoke mostly to Jews of the Old Covenant and not much to Gentiles of the Old Covenant. Maybe some people needed to hear something different than others is my thought. Remembering that Jesus was speaking to people in His real time of the first century and not us.

There actually 3 principles in my family on how salvation works, idk if any of reader will react but this is only inside my own family.
1. Do what God told you to do (10 commandments and loving other human being as it is describe as loving your neighbour) just by doing this we are loving God and in His love too.
2. Stop doing bad. If you knew what you are doing is bad then stop and only if you have a proof what you are doing was right thing to do then fight for it.
3. Because, if what you have thought is actually wrong, Believe in Jesus he know you have tried your best and forgive your mistake if you really sorry for doing that and willingly to stop doing that wrong again.
This is basic rule to complement thankfulness for life we had have now.
We thanks Jesus for saving us from our mistakes, and it is our time to straighten our behaviors so Father God would willingly accept us in HIS house too.

Can I request readers to refrain from linking the topic of obedience to obedience of the Sabbath. Those who insist on keeping the Old Testament Sabbath as part of obedience do not understand God's order at all. Those preaching the Sabbath labour under the wrong belief that the 10 Commandments are still applicable. I don't have my bible here with me but reading 2Corinthians 3 here Paul compares two gospels; that of death which was "written and engraved on stones"(10 Commandments) whose glory was passing which when the Children of Israel saw Moses carrying it ran away. He compares this Gospel with one gospel which exceeds much glory. No doubt that the Gospel of death was the 10 Commandments. Galatians 3 and 4 clearly states that Christ would never have stayed together with the law since the law requires human effort for righteousness whilst salvation through Christ is a promise. Reading Romans 5, 6 and 7 Paul answers the question why we can not murder even though we are no longer under the law. Had the 10 Commandments been applicable this explanation from Paul would have been unnecessary. The bible teaches that the Law was temporary until the seed which is Christ. Why therefore make this temporary practice permanent? Colossians 2: 4 clearly mentions the Old Testament Sabbath as something that I can not be judged on. Romans 10 says the Law had the shadows of the things to come. For example in the Old Testament there was Solomon's Temple which was the shadow of the real Temple, the Levitical Priesthood which was the shadow of Christ's Priesthood, the blood of bulls and animals which were a shadow of the real blood(that of Christ) etc. Likewise the Old Testament Sabbath was the shadow of the real Sabbath that we now work for. Please read Hebrews 4. It clearly states that God never rested several times (like they did in the Old Testament) but worked once and rested once. We are now called upon to do like God( work once and rest once). Read Revelations which says "Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord for they shall REST from their labours and their works follow them. We are now working with the promise to rest. So leave the Old Testament Sabbath and start working towards the real Sabbath(rest). The Priesthood of Christ is here and are experiencing the real things. Leave the shadows please. Paul in Hebrews 4 says the promise of rest (Sabbath) still remains. He says had there been any rest in the Old Testament God would never have spoken of another day (when he promised rest to some and to some that they shall not enter his rest). I think I have helped many. Forget the explanation on Constantine changing the day of worship. I think I can explain but not now. Don't make a mistake please. All the 10 Commandments are still applicable so to speak. The difference now is that they are, if I may say, stricter than they were in the Old Testament. Remember in the Old Testament you would be righteous if you did not sleep with someone's wife but now just the lusting of someone's wife is a sin. Just a thought of murder etc is a sin. Now we clean the inside so that there is nothing bad going on in the inside which may ultimately manifest on the outside. If no lusting then there won't be any adultery. If no evil thoughts there won't be any murder etc. This is the point Paul tries to put in Romans 5, 6, and 7 that although we are no longer under the law we can not find ourselves to have sinned. Because we're now clean inside. Remember the bible says that the law came to teach us sin. It was meant to take us to Christ. The reason we do not do evil now is not because of the 10 Commandments but because we are in Christ period. i.e. we are holy for He is Holy! As of the Sabbath we continue to work so that we enter the real Sabbath(eternal rest). Therefore in this sense we keep the Sabbath but not in the form of working and resting many times(every week). We now work once and we will rest once. Remember in the Old Testament many of the things were done several times e.g. every now and then there were sacrifices for sins, every year the High Priest entered the Temple, every year the blood of bulls had to be sprinkled in the Holy of Hollies etc. Now the bible tells us Christ(the real Sacrificial Lamb) offered His blood once, entered the Holly of Hollies once, sprinkled His blood in the Holy of Hollies once and sat at the right hand of the Father. Please read slowly without rush all my comments. In particular read again the whole of Hebrews chapter 4. Read from as many translations as possible not one. In Short Hebrews 4 talks about the real Sabbath(where we will do like God by working once and resting once). Read it in conjunction with Revelations 14:13. In sum don't observe the Old Testament Sabbath(I.e. don't rest every Saturday). Observe the New Testament Sabbath. Work and when you are done with your work the Lord has promised rest (Sabbath ). So from my comments we can loosely conclude that we are bound to keep all the 10 Commandments although not in the way they kept them in the Old Testament.
Context, context, CONTEXT. Jesus spoke that to those under moses as a minister of moses . We are not under the law but under the ministration of the Holy Ghost. We need to obey the Holy Ghost, the NT ordinances and the commandments of Jesus

John 3:16 pertains to saints of both covenants, but the sermon on the mounts and the "Lord's prayer": not for us. We follow Paul like 1 cor 11:1 says since he is a minister under the new covenant. Why was the thief saved? He had godly sorrow that worked repentance unto salvation. (2 Corinthians 7:10) The thief made the decision to follow Christ.

Jesus personally made certain Peter was confronted with his sin and brought back into a right relationship with the Father. Because Jesus loved him as a friend and a brother. When we sin today, we are confronted by the Holy Spirit, so that we are made right before the Father by Jesus who, as our High Priest, interceds on our behalf. Jesus interceded for Peter and He will do so for us, however, as it is plain in scripture, we are to walk in obedience and not willingly keep sinning. Obedience is not required for salvation. We are saved by grace thru faith . That's it if we are truly saved we will desire to walk in obedience but obedience is not required to get saved its faith alone

I love how people always add works that are not there to fulfill their pride. Jesus said you will live. He NEVER says in that passage you will have eternal life. In the old testament people who followed the law lived and those who did not died it had nothing to do with eternal life. Jesus says in Joh 3:15 all who believe (nothing added) have eternal life.
Jesus most certainly preached the gospel, which at that time before His death on the cross was the gospel of the kingdom.

You need to repent and turn away from sin! You know how critics (art critics film critics) can live their whole life criticising but never changing anything in their field. You can go on saying your sin is bad but, EVEN IF THAT IS VERY TRUE, that s not even close to repentance. You need to do the work of God which is believe in the one he sent Jesus! How can you believe him if you don't know all that he said did and taught. Read the Bible more get it on your phone and pc and audiobook and pray for wisdom, God will guide you!
RAZzullix I read the Bible a lot. I’ve been reading it *almsot* everyday for a few months now. I have been sinning less. I’m closer to God then before. I think I’ve repented. I’ve told God that I know I sin. I ask for forgiveness. It’s the couple times I sin, like when I say something off the top of my head, but then I feel like it’s rude, I start criticizing myself. It may be harder because I’m mildly autistic, maybe I have a misunderstanding of rude. But I don’t want mild autism to dictate my life, although I’m thankful for it because it has some benefits. Anyway, I am changing myself, it’s the fact that I am unhappy because I still do sin. I pray for guidance a lot do. It happened only a few times, but I want to stop sinning in general. Again, thank you for your help.

I don't think this is a good argument for this biblical point and this is why, people will say that the law was fulfilled when Christ died and so we don't need to do it.
I think a better approach would be to cite post cross verses or at least verses that don't specifically mention the law like

These two often seem to contradict but if you use them both to find the true definition of faith it works out.
James says faith without works is dead this defines what alive faith is as compared to dead faith and we can use this context to gain a better understanding of the parallel verse of Ephesians which says by grace you have been saved through faith and not of yourself it is the gift of God.
When Christ died he opened up salvation by grace through faith which James says requires works to be living faith which means repentance and obeying God. And James is not talking about faith being dead onto men because verse 14-15 talks about it saving. Once this is properly understood alot of other things start clicking. God gives us grace to be saved by this definition of faith and without that we can't be saved.
We must follow the straight and narrow path (Matt 7:13-14) running the race of faith (Hebrews 12:1)unto the salvation of our souls even Paul says we must obey the truth or else there will be wrath
Romans 2:8
But for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
In conclusion these parts of the Bible work well to explain the other and without this definition of what faith is I don't see how the Bible doesn't contradict"
Do this and you shall *LIVE*. Meaning, that if you don't do this, you shall surely.... *DIE*. Amen???
He could have said, "Do this and you shall avoid eternal conscious torment", or "Do this and you shall live with the Lord for eternity and not separated from God".
Rom 3:24, Rom 5:18 both tell us that we are CONSIDERED righteous before God. This means that BECAUSE of what Jesus did for us on the stake we now have the ability to be considered righteous through our obedience of the Torah. Eph 2 tells us that we are now part of the Hebrew family, not through circumcision but through the Messiah. As Gentiles we are adopted into the family of Elohim and have become new creatures which are graphed into the root system Rom 11. What is the Family? What is the root system? It is the Hebrew family of Elohim and with that family come a set of laws that are there for us to obey which is called the Torah. Mat 5:17- 21 Jesus says he didnt come to abolish but to fulfill and warns that no small thing will be removed from the Torah until the everything that has to happens happens. And warning that whoever teaches that the Torah is done away with will the least in the kingdom.

Word of God is the sword of the spirit , scriptures, the bible , We cannot complicate things , bearing with God Father in heaven through Christ Jesus is the only way the key > to eternal life
Christ said do these things and you shall live. The man said he has kept them all his life. But Christ knew he didn't, so he tests him on the 10th commandment. The man didn't want to let go of his riches because he was covetous. This is why Galatians gives is the purpose of the law: to show that we are sinners in need of Christ's salvation.
Doing things the way of tells us to do so through Christ Jesus > who is the only life , the only truth, and the only way to God the FATHER who is IN HEAVEN , amen .
Belief isn't just mental ascent to truth. It's to commit as well.

Jesus tells them what they lacked. This implies that they were not keeping the law perfectly, which is a sin and those sins (as well as I believe in original sins) must be atoned for by the blood (without there is no remission of sins). In other words, your attempts if establishing your own righteousness will always fall short (Romans 3:23) outside of trusting in me. The point was Jesus was showing not to depend on their efforts but Him for eternal life. Just like what we see in Galatians 3:24
"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."
The law was never given to save anyone but to show you can't keep the law according to God's standards and you need His son for salvation.
And believing is not just an intellectual understanding but believing in the heart which produces the fruit of obedience of which you think is for salvation but rather comes as a result of salvation.
Of course keeling the law can't save us cause we're sinners.

You don't have faith in Jesus unless you OBEY HIM.
That's an easy one. The man is claiming to have kept the Law perfectly since his youth, implying he is sinless. Jesus said rightly that if one keeps the Law perfectly, they will have eternal life. Then Jesus turns around and demonstrates his sin by telling him to sell everything and follow Him. The man was in sin, not keeping the Law perfectly, and exposed it publically.
That’s the wrong passage
Reading any part of the bible is only getting one side of the story. Kinda like only listening to one person on the phone and not hearing what the other person has to say. We really don't have the full picture when we read the bible especially the New Testament. Jesus spoke mostly to Jews of the Old Covenant and not much to Gentiles of the Old Covenant. Maybe some people needed to hear something different than others is my thought. Remembering that Jesus was speaking to people in His real time of the first century and not us.

@@kennethperry8605 I respectfully disagree. He isn't teaching "works" but obedience. Let us not forget that the bible says, faith without obedience, aka works, is dead. So if you're knowingly disregarded the truth of obedience then your faith is in vain, for it is dead. Our walking in obedience is our fruit. Let us not forget when Jesus said He would seperate the sheeps from the goats. Those who walked or attempted to walk in obedience and those who continuously walked in disobedience and who refused to walk in obedience to the God and Saviour they proclaimed to whorship and have a personal relationship with. As I've shared with others, does a parent feel loved by their child when said child blatantly disregards, disobeys, and disrespects them? Absolutely not! We talk about Gods love for us and how great His love is. But what about our love for God? Are we showing Him love by discrediting His Word? Are we really worshiping in spirit and truth? Because Jesus stated that there would come a time when people will worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
