If you all made a pedal where every slot was a toneprint... That would be so sweet! Put like 3 in a row and not have to plug, unplug, or use a switcher ever again 😁
You can still do that for the preset tone prints. But if you want to edit on to the pedal or turn on/off MASH and internal tap tempo you need to hardwire it via USB to make those changes.
@@gfm1496I see now that you can beam but you can not edit. I feel like at one time I could edit on the app... Another thing is you at one time could on the Hall of Fame build a reverb from scratch, and had the option to choose the base Reverb Algorithm (Hall, Plate, Room, Etc...) Now you must take an existing preset and edit it and there is no option to select the algorithm.
I cant find that Product Settings tab where i'm supposed to be able to change to buffered bypass.. I have the Flashback Mini v1. Maybe its only for v2?
How many tone prints can you have on a pedal and how do you know which one is which when switching between different tone prints and also how do you delete tone prints
it would be very useful if we could choose between mash or tap tempo options for each preset, not just in general. Please, Tc? =D Just put the tap tempo/mash as a option for each preset.
I'm struggling with this TonePrint editor and there seems to be no tutorial or help in it, just a link to nothing on TC Electronic's website. What I want to do is look at the settings I currently have in my Infinite Sampler Sustainer pedal at position T3 which I presume is a factory preset (wet only - lovely!) and add two more layers as my preferred option. But I cannot see a way of looking at the pedal's current saved parameters. Anyone know how?
I am new to toneprints... if I have various tone prints in the app, how many can I strore on the pedal? if I can store every tone print on the pedal- how to I access each tone print using the pedal??
Yeah, yeah, but things are not all perfect, I get lots of connectivity issues between my pedal, the toneprint app only works for 3 minutes on my desktop, so in the end, I cannot use the features I wanted to use the most. Sometimes I miss the good old BOSS Digital Delay series. I believe the Tap tempo is the only feature I'd miss in the BOSS pedal, which is easy to fix using a footswitch.
I don’t get those artist’s toneprints in editor app library. They are not loading properly for auditioning the sounds. For example: if you set the 3rd knob (mix of delay) on the device to zero and then click on artist toneprint from library, the mix value is on zero! That way you cannot know how the artist had dialed in the mix value, etc. how can I audition the artist toneprints? Even if I save them to device, same thing happens...
I am trying to connect a Flashback 1 to a Macbook M1, but the app does not detect the pedal. I have tried several usb cables, adapters, hubs and all connection sequences. Is there something I am missing? is FB1 no supported on Apple Silicon Macs? thanks!
Hi all, I have a little problem: I plug my BG250-208 (via USB) to my PC with opened toneprint software; The PC sees my Amp and if I set an effects via PC, all works good BUT...I can't see, in any effects, the "pencil" to edit it. Some trick about this issue?
Is it possible to change for exm. just one footswitch to momentary operation and not latching? When you edit the delays, why is not possible to edit the delay time in bpm instead of miliseconds?
when I store a tone print in any slot and then I switch out to analog delay for example, when I come back to the tone print slot the settings have changed to last settings I had out, delay feedback etc. Is this normal? the tone print doesn’t save the parameters apart of what you are doing out of the tone print slot? does this makes any sense? 😬
TC Electronic - I have three delays with my Flashback triple delay. How do I save all three parameters into one? All of the downloadable templates only use one delay channel. This is very short sided and does not utilize the pedals full potential. There should have been a save button somewhere where I can store my creation in one of the Tone Print slots. If this was not included in the current software, I think you should include that feature in the next upgraded software version.
I went through this and it drove me nuts until I got help on the Tribe forum. What you have to do is start with a template in the app (or program) that matches the delay type you want. Set the parameters and make sure the subdivision is set to what you want, flip the toggle switch to the delay you want, then send to pedal. You have to do that with each delay so make sure to set the toggle switch. Also, you have to set the selector know to the TP# you want and leave it there until you're done. Good luck lol.
@@ferrollg That's right, you can't save all three at once. You have to select, edit, and then store one at a time, each time setting the toggle switch and starting with a new template.
Can you get totally seperate delay signals with different time using both inputs and outputs? Like having two seperate delay pedals for two different sources?

I would really appreciate smthg easier: Modify a delay type directly on the pédal, and store it to a preset slot, I see no real use of the toneprint slots After 10 yrs using flashback pedals.
Alessandro Lucas it’s a political decision based on the fact that many artists have requested that their settings remain “secret.” We wanted to respect this and hence why all artist TonePrints are currently “locked.” This may change in the future. Who knows #dontbesad 🙂
TC Electronic thanks for answering! I have a flashback 2 and a hof2. It would be really cool to be able to edit hof AsatoVerb. Both are still great despite this. 😊
Alessandro Lucas Agreed. I HATE this aspect of the Toneprints. Do they think we’re going to somehow “sell” their print? I’m not good enough to create certain types of sounds myself, and want to use prints that are already made that might be close enough to what I want, but just need a tweak to make it sound how I want. I also hate that so many prints have no example sounds. Many of them don’t even have a description of what they might sound like. I am not going to run through every single print just to get an idea of what they’re about. I also think it’s useless to sort the prints by artist... I really don’t care what the artist “created...” I want a particular SOUND that I’m looking for. The Toneprints could be so powerful and useful, but so far, they are only 10% as useful as they could be. TC has definitely fallen down on the job here. It’s so difficult to find what I want, or create what I want, that I don’t even bother anymore. #disappointed
@TC Electronic - I really like the pedal but the TC website specifically says "Design your own customized delay effects from scratch with free TonePrint Editor for PC, Mac* and iPad*". Is this true?
I had real trouble finding it, but apparently, yes, it's true, at least for Mac and Windows. Try this link: www.tcelectronic.com/product.html?modelCode=P0CLC I don't have a new enough iThing to run it on, I expect, but the iPad one should be in the app store, somewhere.
Hi there. SpectraDrive is unfortunately the exception, since it is based on our bass amps, which do not allow for the customization of TonePrint. Apologies!
Can you help with something? tried getting the android app, but says it is not compatible with phone. what exactly is compatible?; is it the andriod version because i have 7.0...presumably there are old versions of toneprint somewhere too, are they available?
I tried to edit my effect to my Alter Ego x4, and there is no toneprint available to Alter Ego x4. The owner manual says they have toneprint available. Does somebody else have the same problem?
Btw, I own an AE x4 too. It’s had a few problems with the tone print editor recently, but the current software update (3 days ago) has fixed a bunch of things. Try again, it should work.
Yes, download the newest one. You should be able to access the toneprints available for the flashback x4. But you can’t edit the versions on the pedal AE x4. But the editor is very powerful. You can assign three different functions to each knob, creating “sweet spots” that are easy to dial in, but can also have drastic changes. It takes some time playing around, but you can create some powerful presets for yourself.
This is confusing. Having only a PC, no smart phone, Do you need to buy a special cord from the stomp box to the computer? How do you connect the stomp box up from the USB?
What toneprint are you trying to beam? I'll see if I can replicate it here. Just some quick tips: remember to turn up the guitar and phone at full volume and make sure to hold the phone up to the selected pickup. Some phones including some generations of iPhones have a single mono speaker and a fake speaker grill. Make sure you are using the speaker that's actually playing the audio. Here's a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/neLAtbp-nRI/v-deo.html Hope you'll get it working :-)
The octaver to effect does nothing for me unless I open a template that is using it. If I open a template that does not use the octaver, it doesn't matter what settings I edit for the octaver (and that includes turning it up in the router), it doesn't make a difference. Issue is both on PC and in the Android app.
Is the Toneprint app no longer being supported? It wont open on my phone and when I opening it on my Mac it wont let me edit or store toneprints on my flashback 2?

Hi, i can't edit toneprints of my Hypergravity mini, but on the website and on the manual i can see that i could do it. I updated the firmware correctly and i'm using TonePrint 4 downloaded from your website. Also in the Toneprint editor the serial number of my Hypergravity mini is unknown.
Can you please show me how to do a simple half step down (Eb tuning) in this tone print editor using Brainwaves? Just used it for about 2 hours and COULDN'T FIND THE PARAMETERS TO CHANGE THE NOTES!!!!!!! There is no manual for this Brainwaves Tone Print Editor. I saw EytschPi42's video about it and he was completely lost as well. You guys must be kidding.
Comments Add a public comment... Ada Cho @TCelectronics PLEASE guys make the toneprint apps better already. Make it so that we can share our toneprints with eachother at least. Also, if anybody reads this with more knowledge about how making toneprints works and mathrock guitar tones. I've been trying and failing to make a reverb tone for the HOF2 mini reverb that gets close to the reverbs used by people like the UA-camrs and Artists Ichika or LetsTalkAboutMathRock. I know they use Walrus or Mercury 7 reverbs with plate setting of some kind but i just don't know how to get it to sound right. Anyway, I still like this pedal and use it all the time but I just wish the community was able to share their creations on the app itself or that there was a community around Toneprint at all. I feel like if TC put more effort into making the app, tools, and website better as well as easier to understand then more people would buy these pedals.
how do you fucking change the mash option on the existing setting s ? rooom, hall, spring ?? I fucking hate going to the computer it takes so long to get no result
The tone print function is cool, but doesn't work if you use a digital wireless system like the excellent Shure GLXD16. I assume this is due to the AD/DA converters, however, for me this is not an issue as my playing is not FX heavy. But for some players, the freedom that a good radio gives will negate the tone print function. I can't say if this is true for all digital systems, but I chose Shure as they are the de facto industry standard manufacturer for guitar and radio mic applications. (and before the haters start replying, the GLX is every bit as sonically good as the best cables you can buy. I work for a number of pro sound companies with top sound engineers and have A/B tested the GLX against cables (6mtrs or less) and they couldn't hear a difference)
Well, the pedal connects over USB, it doesn't matter what adapter you need, if your device (laptop, phone, or tablet) doesn't have USB-A (the pedal comes with a Mini-USB to USB-A cable), then you need an adapter or a cable that connects to Mini-USB, which is the port that the pedal has. I hope the next version has USB-C, because Mini-USB is a relatively unusual port, and harder to use.
TC Electronics, you did this one tutorial that actually shared some helpful info, but that's it. How can your marketing dept look in the mirror for the other nonsense the have shared? Even your manual does't explain how Toneprint work beyond basic set up. I tried the links in the manual and none are working links. You have a top level product no other pedal makes, yet you don't provide a working manual. This is why I battle to buy and sell your pedal. You need to work on your marketing and sales depts.
How do I turn MASH OFF? I want a straight harmony right now using the momentary setting. I see no way to change the default and when I hold the footswitch down the default MASH setting actually changes the harmony. (Why??) That makes the pedal unusable. I will have to return it. The whole point of this pedal is using momentary harmonies and your MASH feature changes the setting - by default - when I use it, because momentary and MASH use the same, single button. Genius award goes to whoever thought of that. Another genius award goes to whoever thought we didn't need to be able to turn that off without connecting to a computer. PLEASE fix this.
Why do I need to attach a pedal before it will even let me into the editor? That’s not very friendly. I want to create the TonePrint FIRST, and maybe create a couple, and then go test them later. You’re forcing me to go out and buy an expensive Apple cable which I shouldn’t have to do. Grrrr.
I cannot access the edit mode because I cannot click on the pencil-icon. Any ideas how to solve that issue?

Try this link: www.tcelectronic.com/product.html?modelCode=P0CLC
I don't have a new enough iThing to run it on, I expect, but the iPad one should be in the app store, somewhere.
I use spectradrive I use camera adapter like you said but i can’t templates . What should I do?
Use the Flashback x4 in the editor. It’s compatible and what the AE x4 is based on.
Btw, I own an AE x4 too. It’s had a few problems with the tone print editor recently, but the current software update (3 days ago) has fixed a bunch of things. Try again, it should work.
So, do I need to download the the toneprint editor? I will try thank you for the information
LARRY L yes, only usb for computer, all tp pedals come with that cable too
Is it possible to share presets etc?
I bought a Flashback 2 x4 and the app won't reognize my device. Where can I get information about this issue?
I got a question: I have arena reverb but it's not on the library, which one do I use? Hall of Frame or HOF 2?
Musicman The FAM Hall of Fame
Is the toneprint app usable with a Google Chromebook laptop?
Make the Axe FX petrucci toneprints available for the Alter ego/flashback X4 too, not only for the tiny fb2
Is the alter ego no longer supported? I cant find tone prints for it.
There's never been dedicated TonePrints for Alter Ego. You can use Flashback TonePrints instead 🙂
Just bought one of these, no of my cables fit the small USB - is it a mini USB?
Which pedal? I've seen them mention micro USB, but my Hall of Fame 2 came with what looks like an A to mini B USB cable, in the box.
Why does my quintessence tone print not work? It won’t sync...Didn’t have any issues with my Hall of Fame 2.
When you say "won't sync", what do you mean exactly? Thanks 🙂
TC Electronic It wont “beam”
What toneprint are you trying to beam? I'll see if I can replicate it here. Just some quick tips: remember to turn up the guitar and phone at full volume and make sure to hold the phone up to the selected pickup. Some phones including some generations of iPhones have a single mono speaker and a fake speaker grill. Make sure you are using the speaker that's actually playing the audio. Here's a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/neLAtbp-nRI/v-deo.html
Hope you'll get it working :-)
The octaver to effect does nothing for me unless I open a template that is using it. If I open a template that does not use the octaver, it doesn't matter what settings I edit for the octaver (and that includes turning it up in the router), it doesn't make a difference. Issue is both on PC and in the Android app.
It'd be much simpler to make some software where it can share the ton print made on the PC & transfer it to the phone.
Need to be able to make a toneprint then beam it in
M E H one day! You can already send user Prints to a pedal from a smartphone via USB, but yeah, user beaming would be a sight to behold!
Is the Toneprint app no longer being supported? It wont open on my phone and when I opening it on my Mac it wont let me edit or store toneprints on my flashback 2?
The Same here, i m planning to sell my Alter Ego x 4, very confusing managing this pedal and app!
battery won't work?
Can spectracomp edit ?
is there a way to reset the pedal?
Which pedal in particular?

Hi, i can't edit toneprints of my Hypergravity mini, but on the website and on the manual i can see that i could do it. I updated the firmware correctly and i'm using TonePrint 4 downloaded from your website. Also in the Toneprint editor the serial number of my Hypergravity mini is unknown.

@@thijs199 toneprint editor 3 works fine, but now they fixed also the editor 4. It's strange that you can't edit your toneprints

This is a cool video if you even get that far.

PLEASE guys make the toneprint apps better already.
I get it now
how do you fucking change the mash option on the existing setting s ? rooom, hall, spring ??
Man I gotta get a glx now 😉
@@kodykindhart5644 Get one, you won't regret it, and you can ditch any tuner you may have, the GLX has one built in.
Doesn't work with spectradrive
then you need the camera connection kit? LOL you say that like everbody has one of them lying around.
@@ColonelRPG Make your own.
1. Download the TonePrint Editor
2. click the link
3 . No data available in table.
Shit
Grrrr.
Don't let that seagull behind you know that the pedal is full of chips . . . . . .
Oh great yet another headache due to the new iphones using usb-c
Nerdy
For the love of God how do I connect a trinity to an android. Most useless website and app!! I just want a factory reset. Geeze...
