Man this is the most unoriginal comment of all time and I see this popping up everywhere now,When someone is really good and famous and someone says I hope he makes it someday,Please stop its needs to stop,Its not funny.Tell me you didn't do this on the Ray Parker Jr Videos.
Just listen to how easily he does the Cathedral thing @ 4:30 That little bit he played took me weeks of practice to get nice a fluid and musically sounding. He does it just as a little example piece and it's flawless. He's such a talent.
After having watched a ton of Paul Gilbert videos, the most bonkers thing about him, even after all of his technical skill and overall radness, is the absolutely unmatched musical memory this guy has. It seems like he can play every song he's ever heard, and a bunch he hasn't. There's no barrier between his ear and his head and his hands -- he just is like "oh I heard this once, it goes sort of like this" and then he plays the whole fucking solo.
I just got the Flashback a couple of weeks ago and I was just playing with the tone print setting. Stumble upon with this video was a nice surprise. This guy is amazing, now I have to try Gilbert's setting!
Thank you Mr. Gilbert! That is an awesome Toneprint! You are The man! Also, Torre let us know when you get to New York we would like to connect with you about t.c. Electronic future products!
Kind of reminds me of the sound used by Montrose in "Razor King" by Gamma. I love the Pat Thrall reference. His solo in "Heat in the Street" is top shelf.
Robert Allpress did you see the interview with lee at andertons? He pretty much says that, and displays it well through the interview. It's good viewing
Love this... Can you please explain how I get this EXACT sound on my tripple delay? The subdivisions are confusing, as well as the whole process on the tripple delay. On my corona mini its a breeze.... PLEASE HELP
Is he running this pedal in the loop in this video? Or in the front of the amp? i know that he normally runs his pedals all in front of the amp but it sounds pretty smooth with the gain sound in this video
Why isn't this tone print available for the triple delay? Or is it available for the triple delay? I have the flashback triple delay. A lot of the tone prints I want are not available on it. I really want this one and I can only find it on the flashback but not the flashback triple delay. Can I beam it to my triple delay? And what about all of the modes on the alter ego are they tone prints that you can get for the triple delay? Please just answer the first question at least I want to use this tone print. But I have the triple delay, make it happen please. Thank you
They need to make a better flanger toneprint for the Dreamscape. The Flanger 2 is too saturated. No dry signal at all. I dont know how to customize one.
"clever sixteenth notes?" great toneprint,- but what if you dont have the flashback? well heres the formula: (feedback=0 , because you only want ONE repeat for evry note you hit),- (volume:100 % , because you want the reprocuced note to sound as loud as the one you hit),- (delay time, in milisceconds, to the quotient of 45 dvided by the tempo: EXAMPLE: tempo 120 your delay time is .375 miliseconds( 45:120=.375) now play 8 notes and your device (maybe the tc nova system) will play when youre not. be aware that the first echo you will hear is after youve hit the second 8 notes, because, in musical terms, the first note you play is a dotted 8 note, and it will last for an 8 note + a 16 note. one of the very cool things about the flashback is precisely that theres a toggle switch where you can choose the dotted 8 notes, and apart from that you can choose the tempo you want by holding down the foot switch, so actualley, you dont really need the paul gilbert gaddavida toneprint:-) I´ll be making a youtube video of this if you are interested.
If i beam the Tone Print of Paul in the Pedal, where should be the Note Knob (quarter/Dotted..etc) ??? Generell i ask myself this question to any tone print- what is the intended setting on the note knob.. In this video he do not have the Knob to tone Print..so its based on the 2029 as i see with Quarter note..but its sounds like 16th :))
thanks. i guess so. he use a lot of Mojo. I got the TC; compressor, mojo, hof, corona, spark.. but unable to produce the magix that paul has... :( its more the user issue.. hahah
I was thinking the same thing. Paul must be tired after all that TonePrinting. I know for all tempos it's not a dotted eighth, but the example he's citing in this video...
The delay is set to dotted 8th's to the tempo he was playing, but with one repeat and the wet of equal volume to the dry, it gives the illusion of 16th's. I think this is what he meant.
At least you're playing a decent guitar--an Ibanez; that's what I play. Can you get a ping pong effect from this pedal like the original??? Maybe in a tone print???
Take a look on Ebay, Gawen. Paul's worked with Ibanez for a long time and he has so many incarnations of his RG. I'm sure a white with faux F-holes and rosewood board was available at some point in the past :-)
Tele Caster you should never "need" delay it just makes it sound a little better to the ears. less dry. it's not going to make you sound good unless you can already play. and btw i find that technical difficulties sounds better without delay so the picking is sharper.
I swear paul knows every rock song ever played
Paul has such a great way of describing and demonstrating his ideas. Inspirational.
is there anything this guy can't play??? nope there isn't , a true legend . great vid paul
Vertigo 101 He can't play bad.
Vertigo 101 he a Virtuoso
Smoke on the water
From Paula Abdul, ABBA, to Spice Girls and Xtina, he did it all
Paul Gilbert is a legend. His attitude is so incredibly infectious
paul is a national treasure. absolutely fantastic.
It's always entertaining and interesting to listen to Paul talking and playing, such a great guy and musician.
This is our 4th TonePrint with Paul. It really never gets old. The guy is simply an inspiration! :-)
wow this is first time see paul play volume swell technic
That part really took me by surprise. Sounded amazing !
this Paul kid can play pretty good. I reckon he'll make career out this music thing if he applies himself
greetings from 2017, how are the 80s?
I think you are missing the sarcasm
no i think you are missing my sarcasm haha
Man this is the most unoriginal comment of all time and I see this popping up everywhere now,When someone is really good and famous and someone says I hope he makes it someday,Please stop its needs to stop,Its not funny.Tell me you didn't do this on the Ray Parker Jr Videos.
The most entertaining TonePrint of all time! Thank you Mr Gilbert .

yes delay makes it sound less lonely, the perfect relationship of give and take
Paul's just a top notch bloke, really an inspiration.
Super friendly awesome musician! Always great to see Paul doing a print.
the best tone print yet and so well explained.
Really enjoyed this! Great playing, Paul.
Paul is most certainly the man! :-)
What an usable and awesome toneprint! Comes even with a tutorial. lol. Thanks Paul! Thanks Tore!

love this toneprint. thank you, Paul!
Love Paul...he gimme a guitar pick at an Anaheim NAMM many yrs ago...cool guy indeed.
So glad he mentioned Pat Thrall! He IS indeed the KING of this delay thing!
Paul is so good it is insane
I think Paul is the most enthusiast guitar player ever !
I just got the Flashback a couple of weeks ago and I was just playing with the tone print setting. Stumble upon with this video was a nice surprise. This guy is amazing, now I have to try Gilbert's setting!
The TonePrint feature why the Flashback Delay is the Player's Choice. So many cool options! This one sounds musical AF.
This is amazing!
Thank you Paul & Thor ✌️
Paul, you’re amazing
Excellent guitar teacher, Paul; I forgot to mention.
Thank you Mr. Gilbert! That is an awesome Toneprint! You are The man! Also, Torre let us know when you get to New York we would like to connect with you about t.c. Electronic future products!
Very cool. The intro to 'Material Eyes' has vexed me for 37 years now...
Ronnie Montrose used this to great effect in the solo in 'Razor king' on the first Gamma album.
what the hell , Paul having a good tone, now that's a rare thing to hear
Kind of reminds me of the sound used by Montrose in "Razor King" by Gamma. I love the Pat Thrall reference. His solo in "Heat in the Street" is top shelf.
Mr.Gilbert is a fucking awesome guy and guitar player
Paul knows every cover song ever made.
I love that tone
Yeah, man. What's not to love! :-p
TC Electronic yeah fucking Paul's the best
The opening of the song is actually borrowed from the ending of Bach's Prelude in D Minor.
I'm hearing some vintage Ronnie Montrose stuff in there! Very cool.
Paul's a great teacher
It's nice to see the PG model again. I'm not keen on the Fireman models myself.
is there a riff before 1986 that Paul doesn't know!
Robert Allpress did you see the interview with lee at andertons? He pretty much says that, and displays it well through the interview. It's good viewing
FIRST FUCKING TIME I've heard Paul playing with a good tone lmao
1:46 Holy crap, I can see those calluses from here!
I'm hearing a bit of "Razor King" by Ronnie Montrose in there around 4:15.....
Love this... Can you please explain how I get this EXACT sound on my tripple delay? The subdivisions are confusing, as well as the whole process on the tripple delay. On my corona mini its a breeze.... PLEASE HELP
At 4:22 reminds me Crises by Mike Oldfiled. Gonna try this on my Flashback X4
Nice!
Paul Gilbert is the real SHIT!!!
Why is this only available for flashback 2? I have the flashback x4 and I can't find it in the tone print app
PG is a master
Is he running this pedal in the loop in this video? Or in the front of the amp? i know that he normally runs his pedals all in front of the amp but it sounds pretty smooth with the gain sound in this video
Which Pat Thrall song is it at 4:00...?
Why isn't this tone print available for the triple delay? Or is it available for the triple delay? I have the flashback triple delay. A lot of the tone prints I want are not available on it. But I have the triple delay, make it happen please. Thank you
What he does at 4:30 is amazing. That is so difficult to get it right.
why is this not available on the mini?
They need to make a better flanger toneprint for the Dreamscape. The Flanger 2 is too saturated. No dry signal at all. I dont know how to customize one.
How exactly do you play the line at 01:00?
Hi. Does this delay sounds good with distortion? Thanks
great video and great delay! how about giving this away? :D
Haha, maybe ;-)
"clever sixteenth notes?" great toneprint,- but what if you dont have the flashback?
well heres the formula: (feedback=0 , because you only want ONE repeat for evry note you hit),- (volume:100 % , because you want the reprocuced note to sound as loud as the one you hit),- (delay time, in milisceconds, to the quotient of 45 dvided by the tempo:
EXAMPLE: tempo 120 your delay time is .375 miliseconds( 45:120=.375) now play 8 notes and your device (maybe the tc nova system) will play when youre not.
be aware that the first echo you will hear is after youve hit the second 8 notes, because, in musical terms, the first note you play is a dotted 8 note, and it will last for an 8 note + a 16 note.
one of the very cool things about the flashback is precisely that theres a toggle switch where you can choose the dotted 8 notes, and apart from that you can choose the tempo you want by holding down the foot switch, so actualley, you dont really need the paul gilbert gaddavida toneprint:-)
I´ll be making a youtube video of this if you are interested.
Nick pallisgaard jensen ...said nobody, who ever used a delay properly.
Will Paul's Toneprint work on the Flashback 2?
What guitar is he playing here? Is this one actually available to buy from Ibanez? I don't see it on their site!
surgeyX it's the Paul Gilbert Signature guitar. you get this at select stores.
paul with delays?
Pat Thrall reference!
The day I bought my Flashback I loaded in the Doug Aldrich TP and never changed it XD
Also a killer TonePrint, Stefan :-)
Go tc!
Guitar virtuoso!
What kind of pgm signature that guitar?
Why is this Tone Print NOT on the TC Electronics website?
www.tcelectronic.com/flashback-delay-toneprints/flashback-delay-paul-gilbert-in-a-gadda-da-vida/
Thank you so much!
You are so welcome :-)
For 25 years I wondered how Pat Thrall could pull off such riffs! Now I know, jees 25 years.. (Riff from Pat Travers era)
Try it at quarter note :-)
@@tcelectronic so with every tone Print Thema Quarter is Standard?
And the Delay and Feedback knob at 12'? 🤔😆👍 Thx
Every TonePrint knobs at 12'o clock yes! Quarter note isn't always standard, but I'm pretty sure it is here 🙂
"Yeah." /Tore
Mr Paul Buckethead!
I just realised they don't have torsos!!!
hi, what overdrive was paul using? thanks
Our Mojo Mojo is Paul's overdrive of choice 🙂
thanks. i guess so. he use a lot of Mojo. I got the TC; compressor, mojo, hof, corona, spark.. but unable to produce the magix that paul has... :(
its more the user issue.. hahah
i also just got the dark matters and have other tc pedals.
Not a huge fan of Gilbert but he seems cool as fuck.
Wait... does he mean dotted 8th notes?
I was thinking the same thing. Paul must be tired after all that TonePrinting. I know for all tempos it's not a dotted eighth, but the example he's citing in this video...
The delay is set to dotted 8th's to the tempo he was playing, but with one repeat and the wet of equal volume to the dry, it gives the illusion of 16th's. I think this is what he meant.
He's playing 8th notes, but the delay is set to a dotted 8th in this case.
otakurocklee Yeah I meant delay
At least you're playing a decent guitar--an Ibanez; that's what I play. Can you get a ping pong effect from this pedal like the original??? Maybe in a tone print???
Can I use this TonePrint with my Flashback x4?
Yeah, the flashback toneprints are compatible with all flashback variations, even the mini one!
Absolutely!
Why doesn't the delay level work on the FBx4 with this patch?
@@tcelectronic what about with the triple delay?
Can anyone tell me which Ibanez PG is playing here? TIA
A variation on Paul's signature guitar: www.ibanez.com/products/u_eg_detail17.php?year=2017&cat_id=1&series_id=18&data_id=384&color=CL01
Thank you, I like it! :)
Yeah, it's a stylish one for sure!
Looks like it may not be available with a rosewood fretboard??? :(
Take a look on Ebay, Gawen. Paul's worked with Ibanez for a long time and he has so many incarnations of his RG. I'm sure a white with faux F-holes and rosewood board was available at some point in the past :-)
His speech rhythm reminds me of Jeff Goldbum.
no .... Beck. Listen to a Beck tune, close your eyes and imagine Paul singing it. IE: Black Tambourine or Hell Yes. Voice Match!!
uh... I remember Guthrie made a toneprint which is exactly the same concept.
Yay, a Pat Thrall reference ....
Do i need delay for paul gilbert shred stuff like technical diffuculties?
Tele Caster anyone who asks that question is not ready to play that song.
Tele Caster you should never "need" delay it just makes it sound a little better to the ears. less dry.
it's not going to make you sound good unless you can already play.
and btw i find that technical difficulties sounds better without delay so the picking is sharper.
Yeah Pat Thrall
Why is Paul sounding like Sean Connery in this video?
Damn, Paul wants to unload a few of those things BAD.
I thought Paul never use delay, but apparently I wrong
White-floaty, Gilbertneck, white-guitar-brown-haired-guy-on a black background.
Is Mojo Mojo a reference to the Powerpuff Girls?
Purely coincidental, I believe. But we missed a trick not incorperating him into the logo! :-p
haha that's Mojo Jojo!
When is someone going to do an EDDIE HAZEL delay. It's always cliched Dave Gilmour, Van Halen 'inspired' delay prints.
echo song
That's what I was thinking. Didn't he already do this with that song from the "Get Out of My Yard" Album?!
He did. But now he's sharing a preset perfectly suited for that.
Paul looks old dude.
I like paul a lot, but this is just a dotted 8th delay...
