This is by far the best and most moving memorial I’ve seen. In my more than 21 years as an Army Warrant Officer UH-60 SP/IE, with tours in DUSTOFF, I remember the pain of loosing members of my units, and what seemed to be an insurmountable hurdle to overcome enough of the pain to climb back in the Aircraft and carry on. The hurt will in time subside, but the empty space from the loss doesn’t go away. The best thing I could do was to carry my friends and all they taught me with me so just a little of their spirit would never die. Make friends with the good memories and give them to others. ~ DUSTOFF 07
Thank you for posting this for the world to see. One of the hardest days of my career. The loss of our sister and brothers left us a huge hole. God Bless and watch over their families. Thank you.
Thank you...❤❤ It was great working with those I knew. You will be missed. Army Aviation motto is "Above The Best"... you Nine Eagles are Truly "ABOVE THE BEST"
What a fantastic tribute to these Heroes and Heroine. Thank you for letting us get to know who they were, just a little bit. Til Valhalla and see you on Fiddler's Green...
this sucks so much being away from my grieving brothers and sisters from are cab that had to bare this tragedy so close to home. im deeply hurt by are lose as a unit but as an aviation community. they will be deeply missed but till we meet again brothers and sisters we have watch now. rest easy we will take care of family and loved ones for you.
Our hearts go out to the Shadow and Shadow Dustoff teams following this unimaginable tragedy. Austin, thank you so much for putting this tribute together. It was perfect. This video outdoes any video any major news organization could have produced. Thank you.
The eloquence and sensitivity of their comrades is testimony to the dedication, responsibility, and the value of these nine precious souls and their impact on this world. I'm praying for their fellow soldiers, friends and family as they learn to live in this world with only memories.
So many emotions in this tribute for your "friends". A terrible loss to say the least. Thank you to all of our military warriors. You do so much for each day trying to get our world to a better place. You are so appreciated.
I've been around army/civilian aviation for almost 30 yrs. This is the most beautiful tribute I've ever seen. Thank you, Austin, for creating this art that will hopefully help the families and friends heal. Sending love and strength to all at C/6-101.
My fondest memories of 27+ years in the military is the 12+ I spent being fortunate enough to be a DUSTOFF pilot. The most dedicated group of soldiers I ever had the pleasure to serve with. I feel your loss and share your sorrow. DUSTOFF86
All I can do is /cry when i see this! I remember moving into that hanger (hanger 5) as a member of Eagle Dustoff in Aug 1990 just before heading to Saudi and the War in the Gulf. To be in Medevac and Eagle Dustoff (during my time Dco 326 Med Bn) was an Honor and these 9 soldiers are the very best the Army has to offer just like all of Eagle Dustoff. These 9 Eagles have a special place at God's side now! RIP
My stomach dropped when I heard the news. Hate that you guys are going through this, but keep your heads up. Austin, good on you for putting this together.
Those FIs and IPs have the best sense of humor. Horrible actors, when they pull off one of the PCL’s or turn off your NVGs and act like nothing happened.😂They are rare breed. I hung up my helmet and turned in my flight gear, but I still miss you.😢
