- Here is a more brief video showing the removal and replacement of a unity spotlight, particularly on a Dodge Charger.
The process is mostly the same for any vehicle, though do note the style of mounting bracket can vary.
Careful care should always be taken, as these are very intricate and have a lot of moving parts.

Thank you for posting this! I could not figure out that you had to pull out that retaining nut! I needed to remove the spotlight to get the A pillar molding off. Appreciate the time to post!
Paul Lourd Glad it helped! Lots of small parts to these spotlights, easy to break if a step is missed
I’m trying to remove this light permanently where can I find a cap to cover the hole ??
Thinking about getting a new spotlight frame or whatever to replace the old one and this video is great. Got a 2015 Charger
Thank you it was a big help when removing my jam nut to install my new handle thanks 🥰
Very clear and good. Thank you.
thanks so much. great recommendations about the quick disconnect and such.
I’m having a hard time removing the trim… Any tips on how to get it out or where the clips are located?
What is the p/n for the new gasket? and the supplier Unity or Dodge? Thanks!
You can ge it on Unity USA website
Can you do a” remove the light bar” video ?? I got one I need removed or a video done on it ✔️
Hey guys! How can I seal the holes and make them unnoticeable?

As usual Chargero. Thanks again.
Where did you find this cap?

DW-40
parlter1 Yes lol
How did you put the holes into your car
Drill. See my other videos showing the complete installation process.
is that a post mount or door mount
Watch the video......
I got a 2009 dodge charger what spotlight should I get. I found 210020-0002 is that the right one of my car. I want it on the driver side.
You have to use the correct part number for 06 to 10 chargers check on the unity web site.
My spotlight is stiff and doesnt spin anymore
Good job, thanks for posting, I just got my 2015 Ford Taurus PI. This is good to know.
good video and a nice clean install. I am currently about to install a post mount on my 14 Chevy Caprice. I keep going back and forth whether or not to install the rivet nuts (like you did)for the screws that secure the spotlight bracket. What do you think? I couldn't agree more on a spotlight being an awesome accessory to add. Lots of good information here.
Hard to say, you would need to see if there is enough clearance underneath the pillar or if the riv nuts would hit the shaft. You can install it first with the regular metal screws then if they ever pull out install riv nuts. You can make a small hole larger, but cannot work backwards.
My left spotlight moves when I do 80 miles or more, how can I get it to stay still?
You need to tighten the set screw located under the headpost. Make sure you have the right size hex key or you will strip it, also a bit of rust penetrant oil will help as they often get corroded causing them to strip
Chargèro wow thanks mans really appreciate it, that shit gets annoying when I’m tryna fly down the freeway
@@raider50000 No problem, I specifically mention this at 8:03 this is the hex/allen set screw that adjusts the tension of the shaft. If you have the older style (common on earlier crown vics) it's actually flat head screw that is on the side, looks almost like a clamping mechanism.
Again make sure to let some rust penatrant (not wd40) sit on the screw for a bit.
I stripped one out that was a bit stuck due to salt mist getting in there over the winter.
Not fun trying to get that screw out, and good luck finding the replacement, you will have to order it directly from unity.
Alr perfect , i didn’t even watch the vid, I just left a comment, I’ll watch it now tho, and I have a 2008 police charger
Are those expensive cause im about to get a cop car like that but it doesnt have one of those and i kinda want one
Don't get the cop car...save your money and find a nice rt
@@QuaabQueb yea cop car interiors suck. I have a v8 but it’s not an rt. I’d rather have an rt with no spotlight, better interior for only a fair price difference. Bc right now I want to mod it but I might just change it for an rt
If I were you I’d save up on a rt. It has better interior and it has a v8 Hemi not ever cop car has a v8. Plus most cop cars will have missing features that standard chargers have. I regret having the police charger I have rn. It’s Grey and it’s a boring car.
@@numbers7889 Really it's the same thing. The police model is just a more basic version. You do however have a heavy duty brake, cooling system and suspension. If you live anywhere that gets even a minimal amount of snow get something with all wheel drive.
Idk if ppl dtill are active here but i have a different modle of this light that i am tryign to remove, but the it is installed differently and i need advice to get it removed.
google the model number you should be able to find a manual online
@@QuaabQueb how do i find the model number? bought the car last month is there a spot of the spotlight it has this information?
@@ezenezi96 Where is it mounted?
@@QuaabQueb same exact spot just locked in with a bolt in the inside with a washer holding it on the outside
@@QuaabQueb its on a 2016 dodge charger same mount just held differently idk if that helps any. i have pictures on my phone dont know how id get them to you though
Can I fill in the whole with bondo cement?
Yes. However you must drill out the riv nuts first.
@@QuaabQueb ok will do thanks
@@thefakemexican6020 You can also just cut a cap the same shape and screw it over. The screws are M5 size. Some one on ebay also sells stick on covers.
@@QuaabQueb also is there a kit for a 2017 version to open the door in the back from the inside?
@@thefakemexican6020 Yes, I believe all they changed was the handles to brushed chrome finish for 2015+. search rear door handle activation kit and you will find it.
ive been trying to get that ramped nut out of the handle on mine for 20 minutes now and it wont budge for shit
Unscrew the bolt a bit and whack it with a hammer, be sure to support the handle on the other size with your hand as you hit it.
Thanks .i removed mine s..😄
How did you handle the hole?
Also would like to know how you handled the hole lmao
@@HOIKID look on ebay theres multiple companies that offer a patch for it
I just bought a Dodge magnum with that. I want to remove it and not replace it..how can I cover and seal it?
you can buy a hole cover, there are some sellers on ebay that sell pre-cut covers specifically for this
