WWE 2K16 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and Visual Concepts, and is published by 2K Sports for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.[1][2][3] It is the seventeenth game in the WWE games series (third under the "WWE 2K" banner), serving as the following from their previous game WWE 2K15 (2014), which will be followed by the upcoming game WWE 2K17 (2016).
Thanks to everybody for all of the support and appreciation! I was planning on reviewing Smackdown vs Raw 07 for 360 for my next review, but turns out I only own it for the PS2. I ordered it on eBay and that review should be here within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime there will be another SVGR and some more wrestling talk videos coming soon. Just so you know, you can turn off the reversal limit and the stamina system.

After 2K15, this was a step in the right direction for the WWE 2K games.
I had fun playing this game. Sure the new reverse system is a pain to get through, but that didn't stop me from liking this game.
that ending was amazing. whole video was great and actually made me want to purchase a current gen system just to play the game but that ending was gold.

Best wrestling game of all time in my opinion. The roster, presentation, and simulation style gameplay is perfect. After playing 2k24, im gonna pull this one off the shelf.

I really just want 2K to recreate this Showcase, I want em to spice up the graphics and all that jazz.
This was the last wrestling I ever bought and it feels like it'll stay that way this game has all the flash and features I ever wanted. Lots of wrestlers from the era I loved in the 90s and my favorite Stone Cold was on the cover.
At the time this was the first wrestling game I bought since the very fun WWE 11. But man the moment I actually played matches all excitement instantly died.
What's the point of being the biggest and coolest looking wrestling game if I was bored to tears. Mind you this is my opinion I think most have a positive view of the game but I hated it. I hated it so much I never bought a wrestling game and haven't had the interest since either.
This was a huge step up from 2K15. The Austin career and community creation tool alone make it worth buying.

Hey Nikateen, i re bought wwe 2k16 for the Xbox one and man I forgot how much fun the game is. I got it in the mail yesterday and installed it right away. I played a few matches and then went right into the showcase mode. All in all one of the best wwe 2k games along side wwe 2k14 and 2k19

I have to admit, I prefer and love the SVR games over the 2K era of WWE games, but this one is definitely 2nd behind 2K14 for me. Love the Austin Showcase, Give me a HELL YEAH! 🍻

This game has way more content than 2k17. 2k17 is only great because of its roster
2k17 also has a shittier myCareer. I don't really like playing universe mode, so basically there's nothing for me to play lol.
What In my opinion WWE 2K17’s roster is just kinda weak to me because no Batista no Santino no Haku.
2k16 have more content and better graphics but 2k17 have better my carrer mode which doesn't say much.

From what I seen there's A LOT to like about this game. The roster, create modes especially. But with that said, this gameplay is too realistic for its own good and it definitely can ruin the fun as it's the most important thing.I just feel 2K hasn't put at much effort as they so with the NBA 2K series yet
It is a little too simulation, but it still plays a lot better than 2k15. I bought that game, played it for maybe and hour, and never booted it up again!
The PS3 version is completely different. The hud system is very reminiscent of WWE 13 and 2k14. Reversals are not limited though very cheap.
Then there is showcase mode. Yes they omitted the career mode on PS3 with showcase mode. And you had to play through as Stone Cold Steve Austin. And you asked who doesn't like stone cold? This guy! The only reason I played through this was so I could unlock everything. The PS3 versions create a wrestler has not changed much either in several years. Thank you for your review.
My Cousin downloaded WWE 2k16 on my grandmother's Xbox 360 console and me and my uncle Always Play it and both of us are great At playing dat game , And i have all of the Classic WCW:WWF games on my n64 console and i have an n64 Emulator on my phone📱And i put plenty of Gameshark codes on there and unlock all of the Characters and and Finishers and hacked Full Entrances that i put on my phone and so much more... Hey Man, It's Mercury..I use to comment on your videos when you first started doing wrestling game reviews! Just wanted to say ur still doing an Awesome Job Brother!
The thing I hate about the WWE 2k series is the mat bump sounds following 2k14, it cause these mat bumps to sound like how they were in a training facility rather than live broadcast and they get old very quickly.
This is the last wrestling game that I bought and is my favorite from the current (now last) generation.
I personally love simulation style but I also really love arcade like gameplay more

This was my first WWE game since 13 and I thought this game was awesome and very smooth for the most part....Only thing I wish it had was a stronger my career mode which didnt seem overly repetitive....I hope one day soon they bring back a more structured story mode like they had for the SvR games.....Other then that I think the game was really top notch and personally I think it is an 8/10.....Also,another great review,keep up the well done work
I would say 8 out of 10 is a pretty fair score. I would rate it about the same.
Nikateen you can remove the counter thing and the auto targeting in the options when you change the targeting to manual you just click the right stick to change targets you can also remove the effects of the stamina meter but you still need it for finishers just thought i might tell you

The "Family Matters" theme in slo-mo is TERRIFYING.
You will be happy with wwe 2k17 then backstage is back and you can transition from the ring to the backstage and crowd fighting is back as well

2K16 was a big step up from 2K15 but it still lacks some replay value to me. The gameplay is fine but I just wish there were more match types. I find myself going through almost every match type there is online against friends in less than 2 hours and just end up bored in the end. And the Season Mode is still bland to me. Overall it's a good game though and I spend must of my time in the creation suite.
Same here with the creation modes. I boot it up, spend hours creating stuff and like 15 minutes of actual gameplay.

I plan on reviewing 2k17 upon its release. Of course it will probably be a few weeks after the game's release due to the playing/capturing/editing process. Can't wait for that one!

I really like this game plus when I saw hall and nash vs harlem heat I flipped the f out of excitement and I had to get the dlc for this game since Im a huge wcw fan which by the way there is a nitro arena in 2k17 which im really happy about.

That review couldn't have been much more in depth! I haven't played many wresting games since No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000 on N64. Graphically it looks great compared to those. Hopefully it's somewhere near as fun.

I agree that the stamina system sucks. It's why I like DoR 1 over DoR 2.
Hopefully you do the last gen games like 2K14 along with WWE 12 and 13! Also THQ's SVR games from 2007 to 2011!

Create a Story needs to be there. I doubt I'll get 2k17 if it's still missing...unless it gets absolutely stellar reviews. BTW you should be able to pick this up for free on Games with Gold up until the end of August (2016).

Great review, I play this game almost everyday and currently downloading WCW arenas, my problem with this game is that when you create a superstar/diva you can't wear some attires (such as hats or cool jackets) in the ring only in the entrances.

I have this game for PS3, it has no career mode and no JBL on commentary. But it does have the Backstage Brawl match.

That's the "elevator theme" from WWF War Zone for the PlayStation and Nintendo 64. There aren't a whole lot of options for match types but with the wrestler selection, arena selection, and creation tools I just couldn't bring myself to be too hard on this one. Plus I have to admit I went into this game thinking I would hate it!

Bro are you gonna dip into 2k18, 19 and the massacre that was 20? Would be nice to get your views on it as I always enjoy your reviews and finally plan on getting one of the newer ones as I still play here comes the pain and svr 07 on pcsx2. I think wwe 13 was the last one I got because of the attitude mode, lost completely Andy sight and interest for it afterwards as both the product and the games kept getting worse.
As far as the reversals you can go into the settings before a match and turn off the reversal limits
