WWE 2K17 is a professional wrestling video-game game developed by Yuke's and Visual Concepts, and is published by 2K Sports for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One and Microsoft Windows[1] It is the eighteenth game in the WWE game series (fourth under the WWE 2K banner) and is serving as the follow up to WWE 2K16. - Ігри
This was great! On your comment about managers: I actually wrestled a match VS Bray Wyatt with the rest of the Wyatt Family as his managers, and during the match a mini cut-scene played out where the Wyatt Family each climbed a different side of the right and spooked my wrestler. I'm sure you can find a clip on UA-cam of the action but I was impressed by the implementation.
I was pissed asf when I heard there was no showcase, with all the focus on Goldberg and wcw, it would have made a perfect showcase mode

The showcase mode was originally going to revolve around Brock Lesnar during his 2002-2004 run, but due to time constraints and other things, it was ultimately scrapped.
These modern wrestling games have all the features which is awesome...but my goodness these games bore me to death when it comes to gameplay. I haven't had fun playing an actual match in years with these games

This game was outdated when it came out. No Universal title, no brand split, no new stages or music. Outside of that I really enjoyed it and have logged more hours in than I'd care to admit lol. The series is headed in the right direction!

There are definitely improvements to the graphics,the menu screen is something I prefer over past versions,and I do appreciate the new additions to the presentation such as the pre match commentary and new can!era angles....but with that said,I can not stand the commentary(still),and the universe mode and my career mode are improved a bit,but not enough to be praised...I'd give the game a 7/10....I want to see a story mode return to wwe games like the ones from the SvR games
This game is pretty much EVERYTHING i want in a wrestling game and more, awesome roster (minus a few exclusions)

I think WWE 2K17 is one of the best wrestling games of all time.

Oh man, for years I remember we had that single animation for winning a title. It would look so ridiculous seeing Undertaker or Stone Cold fall to his knees, start crying and then run up on the turnbuckles holding the title in the air all happy and shit after winning a title.

The number one feature I want in WWE 2K18 is what sports games have had for years? The ability to choose sides and switch wrestlers mid match to make a more full match instead of a one sided beatdown or a reverse fest. Real wrestling matches go one person in control then the other they switch back and fourth until the final finish.
a nice touch in the Halloween Havoc 1998 stage is the inclusion of the Elvis and Crockett tombstones which are included its an accurate feature as the stage only has the smoke effect and the right lighting scheme missing from the stage an overall good stage from a developer that gets many arena and stage inaccuracies in the wwe games.

in my opinion they should allow players to use their own microphones to record their own promos for mycareer mode it'd be more epic that way in wwe 2k18.
i can imagine why they won't though, players would take every chance possibly to say very non-T for teen things

The another thing that always bothered me about the current release is the choreography & quality of the red ropes, it cause them to look more pink than red.

This was the first game in the series since it started with WWF Smackdown that I didnt buy. Was pretty burnt out and annoyed at the series at this point. Still had no GM Mode and I was still salty about the loading times in 2K16 on Xbox One. Was also stuck on Xbox One as my PC couldn't handle the game and I was getting teased by all these nice mods I saw. I absolutely hated and couldn't understand the controls pretty much all I did was strikes and little quick grapples then would hit signature and finisher. I just didn't bother with this game or WWE 2K18. Didn't get back in until 2K19 where I decided to try again. Much better than 2K16 but still hated the controls. Skipped 2K20 and now I have 2K22 and finally I am starting to understand how to play it more but still can't compare to older titles. I only really got it this time for GM Mode finally returning.
I'm a big fan of yours bro. I cant believe you are reviewing this game. I bought it on release day and I am enjoying it just hate the lack of voices and I think the game has quite a few glitches
CordoDaKrave thanks! Yes, it can become quite buggy. Luckily I've never experienced any of the game breaking backstage bugs that others have had to deal with.
Great review sidenote: as far as DLC goes i am excited to finally have and see a WCW version of Cactus Jack circa '92 as well as the 1992 WCW Saturday Night arena also happy to see WCW wolfpack Sting and Papa Shango

granted I haven't watched WWE in a long time n i wound up not playing their games for a while because it just wasn't the same no more. However I am willing possibly giving this game a try n purchasing it just 4 fun. It looks more in depth than be4 a huge amount of nostalgia goin on from the 80'$ on down to the 90's. Some may be upset there is no voice acting, but hey I can get passed that. That's how WWF games were back in the day n it was koo. This kinda does bring me back.

The 4:3 ratio on the old titantrons can be made to look better, but they can't really be "fixed". They could stretch them out to 16:9, but that would look just as bad, if not worse than the black bars. Generally what is done with old 4:3 footage is, they will blow the video up to 16:9 and then blur it. And then paste an overlay of the 4:3 video over top of the blurred one. So now the black bars on the side become a feathered image of what is playing.

This game features no other content aside from the match types, so to artificially extend the game, they made the criteria for unlockables so drastic even with the most simplest of task, while this game is playable, the lack of other content and drastic criteria for unlockables definitely debunked this game from having replay value.

I have this game since launch and I play it daily, at least 2 to 3 hours before I have to work. And I know this game has a lot of bugs but I have yet to encounter any. Yes, I am playing the XB1 version. I also have it in PS4 and PC. Mostly for collection purposes.
I've been playing video games since I got my first console, the NES, back in 1990. An issue I have with modern gaming is the whole "dlc". This has made gaming a complete ripoff!!! If I pay full price for the gtf ame in a store, EVERYTHING should be on 5th he disc! No one shouldn't have to pay MORE for additional content! Whatever happened to unlockable stuff?! That added to value! Gave me a reason to replay games with all of the available characters! Added value made me want the next game asap! These punk ass lazy kids don't have to earn anything anymore cause they just buy it with their parent's money! Gaming has gone straight to hell since the ps3 and 360

Derek Gobert thanks! The nWo theme is in the game labeled as "Outsiders" and I didn't notice any hogan parts, I downloaded him. One thing I did notice was parts for a lot of WCW wrestlers that were never in the franchise like Jeff Jarrett, Mortis, La Parka... Makes me wonder if that Showcase mode that they dropped was going to involve WCW.
They made universe mode unplayable by having to sit through all those loading screens and check the matchcard yourself. I'd rather just press X to sim through all the crap matches and play a main event but it's awful. I just sim to the ppvs through the calendar now instead which makes sd and raw pointless
all of those entrances are horrible. Whoever mo-capped the entrances shouldn't be allowed to do it anymore.

One big downer about 2K17 was the Wrestler's from 2K16 looked better from Community creation. Especially the face's. In 2K17 the face's look weird with the shiny bodies. 2K16 didn't have the shiny bodies and the face's fit perfectly.

it will looked stretched if you force a 4:3 to be wide. Unless you zoom it closer til it covers the whole darn widescreen.
With no showcase or some sort of season mode i aint paying full price for this game cuz I rarely did online battles in 2k16 and dont like my career and universe mode much. 2k16s selling point for me was playing thru steve austins career. It does look mad fun imma wait for the price to drop to $30 or $40
