    • @Ya_Love
      @Ya_Love Рік тому

      @@brennerfineart - That's what I thought, since so far I only painted with Acrylics, you know, and I have managed to do some blending with it, and best yet not only a drying-retarder but to also mix water in with the color and to go over it when half-dry.
      I have painted walls before, even with wall-paper which makes it so much harder due to the wall-paper absorbing moisture very quickly.
      I have not pained in years on canvas! ... but mainly then when I used to live in the US, but now I am back in the land of 'restrictions' and not much space, and all too overpriced, while this society has broken my spirit, too ... unfortunately.
      Looks, and sounds like you are German, just like myself? 😉

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you Kelly :-))) Well...I guess you work with acrylics....after a couple of months after I started to paint (meanwhile decades ago) I switched to oils just because I hated that acrylics just are dry the moment you put them on. I have no experience with drying retarders used with acrylics, but perhaps you can just use a bit more of it to keep the paint from drying too quickly? Or you could switch to oils...they are really far easier to work with. And when you use just some purified linseed oil for thinning them down and clean your brushes with water and soap (that`s what I do since I started with the oils and I have a handful of brushes out of this time that STILL work brilliantly, so there is no need for harsh thinner or white spirit or turpentine) there are no health risks.
