if your car is rocking like you are saying if you have a line lock you can run that with your transbrake. it will help a lot with your rocking when you bump in
Subscribed because of how well you explain things to newbies. I'm interested in doing this one day (drag racing), would like to build it all so it'll take me some time. Video's like this help.
hey john that was a good explanation on bump box . i just put trans break on my turbo car , 2 step didnt work for me , kept pushing car , red light . see how i go with this , then prob get bump, now that i know how it works ,thanks to you , thanks man . 69ss 540tt street leagal on pump gas .
Sweet I came across your channel because I decided to run a th400 instead of s 4l80e bolted to a 8.1 I’m putting in my 66 impala. I want a trans break so I’m just trying to learn how to install them.
Love this video I would like a video explaining how to get a much better reaction time I race bracket with my daily driver pickup in Footbrake and today at my local track i was .674 and .689 on the tree truck went 1458 and 1450
I really wish youd do a video on cams for ls3/l99 cars. Im looking for a good general purpose cam with good drivability. Any advice would be appreciated
Cool vid and editing. I watch street outlaws all the time. I wish there was another way to do it though as it is kind of painful to watch you guys bump in....LOL
You're just depressurising the entire intake. Takes time to fill it back up again. BOVs aren't for performance, they'll just give your turbo more life. Listen to rally cars, F1cars you often here inpeller flutter because they're not running BVVs
2 step yes cuz it's just two different rev limiters usually one lower for launch and then after launch kicks off and then just becomes your normal rev limiter
Two step means you per-determine your launch RPMs in advance and program it into the box. Then on the night you just engage two step and nail the throttle. It takes away one more thing to get right on the line.
When it comes to launching, it takes a lot of fine tuning to launch @ the right RPM. If you launch too low, you’ll bog. If you launch too high, you’ll spin. With a 2step, you can set a limited @ a desired RPM, so you don’t have to manually hold that RPM while @ the line. You can just floor it, and the 2step will set a limiter @ your desired RPM to launch optimally.
Could not uderstand 95% of what he said....back and forth between, build boost, two step, transbrake, bump in, pressure on gate, and more. Very confusing
All racers with a studder box, and a trans brake launch with there foot to the floor, that bump box has to be tough on the trans brake and torque converter, when you launch your boost drops to nil then it takes about 2-3 second for it to make boost again turbo lag there's no way around it dude, supercharger owns turbo for drag racing turbos are shit your basically racing all motor, deep staging is stupid as fuck it's not gonna make you run a quicker time like people think it's like 6 inches, none of the street outlaws run trans brakes, studder boxes, hood scoops, or heat shields, I don't understand why no one runs hood scoops anymore they give you more hp I guess in there mind it catches air so it will slow them down I guess lotta things they do like running this huge ass 36x36 tires that's just fucking stupid that's a hell of a load on the motor a tire weighs a fuckton when it's spinning at 200 mph
Helpful to understand how to engineer and use a transbrake, two step and bump box, thank you
You should do one on wiring a trans brake and a bump box
if your car is rocking like you are saying if you have a line lock you can run that with your transbrake. it will help a lot with your rocking when you bump in
How would you install it with the transbrake? Wouldn't you want your line lock on a switch so you can use it in the burnout box too?
No most cars don’t use line lock for burnouts
@@JohnDoc what do they do? I'm new to this, and just trying to learn.

Bumping in is so cool looking. Can I do that on my normally aspirated mustang?

😎🇺🇸👍 Hey Buddy Checking out the older video’s. Good Stuff Peace ✌🏻

+PandAPhotos mines on the painful side right now lol need to fine tune it
Mr doc why do y’all yahoo not run a blow off valve (if you don’t know you can ask Ben) , love the hemi even though it’s not very ls nasty

Really good video man !
Keep it up !
lol its funny seeing how you cut up this video driving down 210 one min you comeing out of Lillington then your in ainger the back in Lillington
Will a bump box work on a Ford aod transmission
It will work on any transmission with a transbrake.
So is it possible for a manual box to have a 2 step n bump box
2 step yes cuz it's just two different rev limiters usually one lower for launch and then after launch kicks off and then just becomes your normal rev limiter
2step yes, bump box no.
Can we get a vid on the pros and cons of the different fuels?
+carlislecrasher hell yea thank you for your input
Nice video!!
excellent video
How often are you around lillington? Im going to be building a small budget build soon and may need some advice!
I live in anger so all the time!
i use to race jr dragsters with roy lees grandson Shane
+Jack Cotten good ole Roy lee
good man
I understand the transbreak part but don't understand the 2 step part
+amari odom 2 step is pretty much an adjustable rev limiter that can set for your launch rpm
Two step means you per-determine your launch RPMs in advance and program it into the box. Then on the night you just engage two step and nail the throttle. It takes away one more thing to get right on the line.
