#Sublime #SameInTheEnd
After I survived IV heroin addiction, this dudes lyrics have never made more sense. I truly wish he would have survived too because this feeling of conquering H is amazing.
It took me a while to be able to hear this music again without wanting to dive into a pool of opium.
But I will always love sublime. True music here.
RIP Lou Dogg and Brad❤️❤️❤️❤️
Right on!
That right there is amazing my friend. You are a true man of Courage.
Congrats dude
Glad ur alive
Congratulations. Really happy for your recovery! I agree I wish Bradley was still with us I can’t imagine the music he would have given us.
Anyone else get chills from the line "The day that I die
Will be the day that I shut my mouth and put down my guitar" ? ... knowing that he already passed when this album came out just makes it more haunting.
ooh myy godd
seriously didn't know that
Another song that does that to me is floods by pantera dimes last solo in that song give me the chills for the same reason
@@grantlawson87noya24 to me that was peak dimebag, hell that was peak pantera, not long after they regrouped for the reinventing the steel tour it all went haywire
He could see for miles and miles and miles... all same in the end...
Also seen an interview with them and bradley said he could do this for the rest of his life. knowing he died not too long after that, makes me really sad.
Rip Brad and Lou Dog.
At least they're finally back together, and Brad is playin his guitar on a way bigger stage.
Hell yeah
Maybe Lou Dog is on that stage singing with him.
Lou dog is not dead
Nevermind
Nice!
You never know how much you miss good music until you listen to good music. RiP Brad
Only God is good.
Dude. I grew up with Sublime. Especially when I started smoking weed around 15. Kinda faded the older I got and then quit smoking 3 years ago. But now, at 32 years old, finding myself at different place mentally (and physically) and I've come back to listen to these songs that I know pretty much all the words to. But somehow, the music feels different. Hits different. It's beautiful
@@qwop1900 which god?
Brad's the only dude who could pull off love handles.
Rockin that dad bod
@@buckshot170 you're right though
Definitely was a "cool" fat lol
We can keep striving
Says the idiot with a face diaper.
What I love about Sublime (before Rome) is how well they encapsulated several genres such as punk, ska, reggae, hip pop, folk...
That's what makes them one of the best punk bands, kids these days should take note. That's my millennial boomer comment of the day
musical genious
They were mainly reggae rock but with multiple other genres sprinkled in that’s why they are so great
Growing up all I heard was Ska from this song. Now I'm older I hear more of a Punk vibe. Whatever we want to call it, it's a near-perfect song to me.
If you are reading this, you matter more than you know ❤
@@Hellotherepeopleofthew thank you🥰
Greatest band and music of all-time as far as I'm concerned. As usual Bradley captures and expresses the purest emotions that you can feel in this life. He was more than a mind reader, it's like he was a soul reader. Like so many other rock legends Brad died in his late 20s and about 60 years too soon. Sorry, impossible for there to be a Sublime by any stretch of the imagination without Bradley. R.I.P.
Nicely said
They're more of a tribute band, Rome even said that himself when I saw them last month.
I saw them when I didn't know who they were. Rome that is.
Jason Duane sorry man Sumblime is a great, definitely the best Ska band ever, but not the best band ever. Can’t touch Queen, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatle’s.
Shut Up Dodo stfu
Rip Brad. This has been one of the only songs that truly resonates with that uncontrollable chaos that sometimes eats me.
This músic remenber ti donkey Kong ❤😂😂
We were so blessed to have Bradley around to hear his music, even for the short time he was here
"My broken heart makes me smile. Makes no difference, it's all same in the end!" Thank you Bradley, love you man! Rest in Paradise!
I always thought it was my broken arm makes me smile
@@bobhope4949 you're a real cut up, ain't ya Bob

This is definitely some good ass music that will never be reproduced. They ended way too soon. Imagine what these dudes would've made! RIP Bradley Nowell you have been missed.
I can't believe its almost been 20 years since Brad has died. Man is an Icon.
atleast he died doing what he loved 😢
doing heroin ;)
+ToxicTime lol true
That's a very naive comment. He hated that shit just like the rest of em. Pray for the struggling. The first time your bogue from H withdrawls, you never thought in your wildest nightmares that your body could feel that bad and you will do anything to not feel that way, and then the slavery begins it's cycle once again.Stay away if you want avoid a lifetime of misery (No benzo's either)
done with that boi.. benzos?? that's another demon.
I’ve listened to Sublime for a very long time. But it had been a while. Coming back older and wiser the emotion and range of Bradley’s voice is amazing. I don’t remember that as a kid. So good

Got to love the 90's. Real music, real feelings, surfing, chaotic concerts. Real vibe
"My broken heart makes me smile"
By far one of my all time favourite Sublime songs, but the lyrics seem like a real cry for help. He's detailing all his ongoing struggles, from his addiction, to his mental health, to his strained relationships with others.
And the itchy rash
My broken heart makes me smile is a very good line. Bradley really had IT.
I graduated in South Orange County Cali in 1999... these young kids have KNOW idea how important Sublime was to our culture at that Time!!!
same but 07. sublime was still the shit hope the youngsters can relate.
May 25th don't forget and R.I.P. Bradley, we miss you genius!!
best sublime song ever.
Name a bad song: ,. I'll wait late once. Again.....
After bad fish ...
It's awrsome but I can't pick just one.
Idk what this meant to him. But this forever will make me think of dealing w/ the public...
Employers: are you familiar w/ Microsoft

Still my fav Sublime song. I wish Bradley could have been here to see how much he and Sublime are still loved.
Favorite song, rip Lou dog and Brad we miss you ❤😢
Bradley represented all of us fuck ups and I always have loved him for that! "You only see what you want to believe."
RIP Brad and Lou.
I think this will withstand the test of time and im really thankful for minds like his
This is probably the most "replayable" tune from their 1996 S/T album. Thanks for the upload!
The Greatist Punk Rock Song of All Time....We Miss You Brad...R.I.P.
New Thrash is way more “punk” than this song 👀
"But the day that I die will be the day
that I shut my mouth and put down my guitar. "
That day came way too soon. Rest in peace Bradley.
I cant put in words what does sublime means in my life, long live to the most underated band ever in punk rock/reggae scene
"My broken heart makes me smile". Got to visit his headstone in 03' RIP Brad!
The fact that this is gonna be on THPS is amazing af. Tony got some taste 😂
Down in Mississippi where the sun beats down from the sky
They give it up and they give it up and they give it up
But they never ask why
Daddy was a rollin', rollin' stone
He rolled away one day and he never came home
It ain't hard to understand
This ain't Hitler's master plan
What it takes to be a man
In my mind, in my brain
I roll it over like a steamin' freight train
It ain't hard to ascertain
You only see what you want to believe
When you light up in the back with those tricks up your sleeve
That don't mean I can't hang
The day that I die
Will be the day that I shut my mouth and put down my guitar
Sunday morning hold church down at the bar
Get down on your knees and start to pray
Pray my itchy rash will go away
Back up y'all it ain't me
Kentucky Fried Chicken is all I see
It's a hellified way to start your day
If I make you cry all night
Me and daddy gonna have a fist fight
It ain't personal, it ain't me
I only hear what you told me to be
I'm a backward-ass hillbilly
I'm Dick Butkiss
You know I lie
I get mean, I'm a thief in the dark
I'm a ragin' machine
I'm a triple rectified ass son of a bitch
Rec-tite on my ass and it makes me itch
I can see for miles and miles and miles
My broken heart makes me smile
In my mind, in my brain
I go back and go completely insane
It ain't personal, it ain't me
If I make you cry I might
Be your daddy at the end of the night
Take a load from my big gun
You only see what you want to believe
When you creep from the back
I got tricks up my sleeve
Twenty four seven, devil's best friend
It makes no difference
It's all the same in the end
Thank you!!
Best comment winner
Thank you sir sang it...used your lyrics..bingbong
That last beat when the surfer hits the water...perfect. And still one of my fav songs in 2019
This guy Bradley was a song writing genius. His tongue in cheek lyrics are so simple and humorous n,yet sophisticated and deep all at the same time. I got into this band after his passing. But I'm truly blown away by Sublimes approach to reggae/punk/ska. They are truly unique. Wow, what a shame that Bradley left us so soon. God Bless his soul. And God bless us all.🤟
Headed to Pomona to see Brad's boy and the band at No Values. Can't wait.
THis jam just made my nite...💕💕
We need to have a conversation about how Dalmatians are no longer a part of Southern California ska bands
What ska.....
They're pretty aggressive honestly.
Hit up Google, you'll find out.
They f#%&'n bite haha!
@@10MM-MAGAMAN-420Only if they brought up round aggressive vibes.
As long as there are people on this earth Bradley will be known. It's a powerful thing to leave an imprint on the world with something like music.
MAN THIS TAKES ME BACK TO MY LATE TEENS IN THE MID 90's ❤ 🤟✌️💛
Just like my childhood time, just a rage, just a purity. One of the best song of the world.
Severely underrated song!
I haven't listened to Sublime in probably 10 years (wrong, I know) and out of nowhere, this started playing in my head; "In my mind, in my brain, I go back and go completely insane...", "daddy was a rolling rolling stone.." etc. Crazy, it felt like I listened to this yesterday. Now going on repeat for the 20th-something time.
This is the one smacks me in the head out of nowhere all the time for years now. ...always with that bitchin adrenaline kick thrown in
My ex reminded me of a time we saw 311 & Sublime. Idk how much I was drinking or smoking. Which it really doesn't even take much for me to get high but I def feel like when it hits, it hits hard & now I have dementia :/. I thought we saw Rome or Rome w/ them. .. He was all like u don't remember when they came up to us, where we were close to the stage & we took pics w/ them, only they turned out bad bc of the blinding lights? This is 1 of those bigger venues so for them to even put forth that effort, yeah, I do recall. Only, idek how they look like. I think id recognize 311. But idk so much about everyone else. I was a teeny when they came out. Give me some cred. Oh& also, I somehow managed to talk security into letting us in the front. Bc our tickets were absolute sucky. & then we pretty much asked all the other fans for their passes everytime we used the bathroom. I think security prob caught on. They just didn't care. :/ idk how I pulled that off. Mustve been the alcohol talking. Anywho, this song is melancholic. When im annoyed w/ myself for being so snarky. But more annoyed w/ everyone else bc dis. But now he plays their songs in memory & has all these detailed memories while im just like holy f. That happened? How the f did I forget

Today marks 25 years since Bradley Nowell's earthly departure. MAY HE FOREVER R.I.PARADISE!
I'm a moderate Sublime fan, and a big punk music fan. I forgot the name of this song and just searched "sublime punk" and boom here it was as the first result. Here's to the effective UA-cam search and here's to a punk masterpiece song.
Love & miss you Bradley!
This is absolute perfection. I remember seeing them at a concert back in the day
my favorite sublime song
"You only see what you want to believe" truest thing ever said
God what I would give to hear this song live. This song will never get old!

This is my favorite sublime song from any other. 🎸🤟
Such a tragic loss of a talented talented artist.
I would loop this CD over and over in my car.
Almost 30 years ago I drove home from the hospital on medication. Buses weren't running yet and I thought I was okay to drive.
It was dark when I left, I woke up and it was bright outside, I had been driving in a blackout for a couple of hours at least.
I can't believe I didn't hurt or kill anyone. I'm so grateful to God.
Pulled over to call someone to come get me. Ended up ramming into the back of an antique pickup truck.
I had the CD been playing the CD Totaled my car and the CD was stuck in that stereo forever.
Of course I got a DUID. Cop was cool though, just made me take a breathalyzer and then dropped me off at home.
Had to take all the classes just like a DUI.
Of course I have replaced this compact disc and still listen to it all the time.
It makes me want to cry watching Brad and his dog Louie... when Bradley died in the hotel room, Louie was laying right beside him crying. Poor Louie Dog.
I can't remember who took him the manager? I remember when Louie dog passed away many years ago from old age.

I was born in 1994, and I have vivid memories driving around in my mom's car as she blasted this as loud as she could.
I remember her mood would instantly change when we got in the car and she started playing Sublime. She could be pissed at me and my sister but as soon as she hit play, it's like everything else disappeared. Man, I miss those days. ❤
Listening to these for 20+ years. So many memories, and so many more to make
