I memorized the lyrics of this whole album as a teen. My dad would play it in the house when I was really young. How young? My dad got a call one day from my kindergarten that I was singing "pop a cap in Sancho and slap her down" in class. Was kicked out for the day. Dad was great about it, but worried about me singing it again, so he simply didn't play them again for about 5 years... but yeah, one of my earliest memories is hearing Sublime on our sound system :)
lol
Me too I'm 33 now. My favorite album as a young man
Dude me too I’m 20 and I grew up in a household of awesome music (three 6, Pantera, Sublime, Alice In Chains, and so much more) and sublime was my dads favorite band and I got suspended for singing smoke two joints 😂😂 my dad would listen to it in the morning while he smoked before work and I’d be waiting for the bus lmao. I took a Tenacious D album to school and wanted my teacher to play a song 😂😂
When my boys were little and going to a private Christian School, they got in trouble for singing Offspring lyrics . .. "Give it to me baby ..." I had to stop playing it in the car. ;(
That's fucking awesome! What a great memory
I lived in southern California in the 90s. I can't think of any other band who's sound can immediately take me back to that magical place and time like Sublime.
i grew up on the east coast and never got out west till the late 2000s and this brings me to socal in the 90s to this day. :D
Where in So Cal? I had the amazingly good fortune of going to high school in Huntington Beach - so just a hop, skip, and jump to Garden Grove, and Long Beach where Sublime is from.
@@doxholiday1372 I was up in Santa Barbara.

How does Sublime’s official UA-cam channel not have millions of subscribers?! There’s still band members alive that deserve our recognition. Come on people!!!
You know when you are cool when your 5 year grandson wants to hear Sublime.
This started my day off right. I’ll never be able to explain how much Sublime’s music was my savior in an unstable world when I put in those headphones at night and soaked up every lyric. Thank you ♥️♥️♥️
Humans perceive to control earth, hence unstability
It’s Instability not Unstability 🤦♀️
@@MusicEqualsMemories1980 you're perception

What a legend, I will continue to memorize all the lyrics to his songs, so far I have, Garden Grove, Don’t Push, Santeria, What I got, Jailhouse Rock, Greatist hits, etc. I am so fortunate to be able to listen to this band at the age of 14 and I will never forget Sublime. Rest in peace Bradley , fly high.
Isn't Jailhouse Rock an Elvis song?
STP - 🎶 Secret Tweaker Pad 🎶 it’s a jam!
Shoutout to all the 90s skater and surfer kids. We had it best then.
✌🏽
Dude, how bout them 80s old geezers? I'll be 56 in one week and.......still skate. the 80s and 90s were the last two decades where the music didn't suck and people still respected each other.
I miss it
I will keep it going till I die. I'm 58. My man is 61. We are waiting for the grandkids to ask for Sublime.
Have you seen the documentary coming out about the movie kids?
Had this cd in my alarm clock CD player. This song came on at 7am everyday from like 6-8th grade for me, amazing band
id do that but it always ruins songs for me lol
Man a cd player alarm clock sounds so beautiful

Wooah, this has been a long time coming.
My mom and I are in the kitchen right now listening to this. It's still very good and part of our life from back in the day when we got to go to concerts. Don't anybody give up your hearts or your heads.
THIS IS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR

REGGAE MUSIC ON DA LOOSE
One of a kind often imitated never duplicated. Sublime will always be my go to to remember the good days when I was free and young and didnt give a fk. RIP Bradly, still bumping in 2023 at 45 years old.
im right there with you man, an absolute time warp
Being from Garden Grove, this was always one of my favorite Sublime songs. Funny they call it a "trip." Garden Grove's western border is, like, three miles from Long Beach's eastern border.
The trip is the journey, not the distance.
But in traffic!
Love from Canada. Found out about Sublime a couple months ago, I’m 15 and already a huge fan
That's cool, I got into them about 25 years ago. Timeless stuff.
This song is like a life timestamp. Brings back all the feelings of the 90’s in one piece of art. Music is so powerful where your head can spin with memories and feelings you forgot the minute the first notes are heard. Wow
Sublime got me into such a wide variety of bands and music simply because of Bradley's own influences. I started playing guitar because I was tired of air-guitaring along and wanted to really play the songs. I'll never forget the hours spent digging into the deep cuts, demos, and bootlegs to soak up as much Sublime as I could. Getting stoned and losing myself to the music over and over until I could hear a single bar from any song and instantly be able to name it. I just wish Bradley was alive today so he could see how profound his impact on people's lives was.
I’m only 17 but this music resonates in a special place in my soul after one listen. My kids will definitely be hearing this when they’re born. Bradley’s sound is unique and you can hear pure emotion in every song. It’s too bad he was taken from us too soon :/
They should have incorporated some old school footage of Bradley with the band jamming out on this.
There's only so much footage and everything has already been used over and over again for the past 25 years. I like the video. They captured the SoCal skate/surf vibes well. I wish they'd do this for all the songs on ST.
Do you think any of the guys knew how many lives this album was going to change before it came out and the impact of would have? What do you think sublime would have became of Sublime had Brad not left us so soon? This truly is a timeless album and I believe Bradley lives forever.
"I NEVER THOUGHT THAT WHEN I GREW UP, I WOULD BE IN A BAND"
@@kozhedub and travel all the best spots in the land
If Brad escaped his untimely death, they absolutely would have still had the acclaim they received after his death. This is because the self titled album with santeria and doin time was set to release about 2 months after he passed wether he met his maker or not. The question is would they have eventually run their course and called it quits due to the bands tendency to party too hard.
@@jonwood2684 what a tragedy with the new son and being that close to dropping what was to become one the most beloved albums of all time
@@jonwood2684 My brother in-law was Brads best friend Scott Cunningham. My husband and brothers grew up listening to Brad and the band in their garages. Brad was a great guy but unfortunately that evil drug took over. He is in heaven for sure!!!! I'm sure he's listening from heaven also! Lol
My dad raised me on sublime all my life I love him for that
I love this song. You can never go wrong with Sublime.

Already watched this when y'all uploaded it on May 14th.
Ya I was wondering about that
Why re upload?
Yup I remember specifically commenting on it and getting some great replies. Wonder why it’s posted again..?
Ok thank god I thought I was goin crazy
yeah what happened with that? i thought i was going crazy when i went to look for it again
Sublime got me through the worst and best times of my teenage years. Love them!
I love Brad. He really should be put up on a pedestal by the world not just those with great taste and appreciation for gold. Sublime has so many great tunes unbelievable sound one of a kind
This is one of my favorite party songs, life songs, and an every day anthem on my ride to work. Sublime. Gospel music
Sublime channel still uploading videos in 2021 makes me happy. Greetings from a Spanish fan
My mom worked for Garden Grove PD as a dispatcher for 30 years. It's a Wild city, tons of crime. Vietnamese and Korean organized crime. Mexican Gangs/ The Cartel. Tons of burglaries and robberies in GG. Long Beach in Los Angeles County, and borders Garden Grove which is in Orange County. So people from long beach would commit bank robberies in Garden Grove and try to get back to Long Beach before all of Los Angeles County knew what happened. APB's go out County wide when a bank robbery happens, it's like an amber alert all police departments in the county will get. What they didn't know is a radio channel exist which neighboring counties speak on and which allow them to coordinate as needed. Los Angeles county may not get the alert, but they know, as does the highway patrol. Her department were constantly arresting people from Long Beach for Bank Robberies
Used to listen to this all the time. Been a minute since i heard it. Nostalgia.
You the big word nostalgian shit
best last minute of any song ever- even adding ad-rocks yeah! in it
I still know every lyric on this album. Haven't even heard a sublime song in a long while. It's all tattooed in there forever.
I was just watching the news and the traffic guy in the helicopter was showing a sig alert near Garden Grove and he goes, “I took this trip to Garden Grove. Smelled like Lou Dog inside the van.” I didn’t really like Stu Mundel that much. But now I LOVE him!!! Thanks for brightening my day Stu and Sublime. ❤️
yeah, this cassette was def stuck in the tapedeck for a good part of the 90's....muchas g's
"It's hard to keep my soul on the ground"
1st time this lyric resonated with me was when I was in high school (90's).. and it still has a place in my heart to this day. RIP Bradley, you are forever missed.
Damn wish I could of seen em live. Rest easy brad❤ thanks for the tunes.
This seems like a salute to all the highly talented artisans that use their skills and passion as an expression. Big props to that. Brad is no exception. Rip 🙏
Been bumping this album all year in preparation to keep bumping it all year
2024 and I still love this song… and of course sublime !!!!
2021, first time listening to this song (and Sublime in general) I’ve heard of the Santeria song which I didn’t know who sang it, but it plays on a bunch of karaoke nights, then today I heard Danny Mullen (UA-camr) talk about Santeria by Sublime and was like oh I heard that song so I went to look it up and now I’ve been binging Sublime songs.
Just got this CD in the mail today! Idk where it went 20 years ago lol. I know every song and about to jam!!!
One of my all time favorite songs. Was one of the first sublime songs I fell in love with as a kid back in the 90s. YOURE A FOOL. DONT FUCK AROUND MY DOG is the best.
we played a show with sublime and met Jakob, class act and just super kind, spent the whole day talking with him, just having fun like normal people. We were the literal noon opener and they sold the place out and it didn't phase them, they were cool with everyone. What a great experience
Maybe my favorite video of all time.
I could feel the vibes flowing out of my phone✌
This band changed music for me forever. My favorite band of all time!!
I was born in 1985... by 1995 I knew exactly who Sublime was at 10 years old and I live in Texas. This band was one of the first cd's I ever listened to. I now have all their stuff on limited edition vinyl. I will love these songs forever
Same!
I am from graden Grove California. Blessing to y'all
Still love them! Legendary voice that can't be matched. You live on in our hearts 💕forever Still your biggest fan 23 years later😢
I remember 90 punk ass kids vocalizing this tune in the bathroom of NAVY boot camp. We all came together from all over the great United States to take part.
This song is criminally underrated
I've never met one person who didn't like Sublime. As soon as a Sublime song comes on, everybody or whoever I was with would get excited. And this is on the opposite side of the country from Cali in PA. EVERYBODY loves Sublime. It's universal love and respect.
It will forever smell like Lou dog inside the van
RIP lou dog and Bradley
Sooooo gooood! Legends🫶
And we will forever have dog shit on our shoes
Tá loko !! Depois de décadas este som me tira arrepios !! Pra sempre SUBLIME !!
I feel like Sublime embodies that 90s west coast sound. I've never lived in Cali but I've visited, and every time I hear sublime it reminds me of surfing, skating, smokin pot, and the general Cali vibe back then.
Rip Bradley. You'll forever be the bright light behind most of my inspirations.
Amazing band..even still..there music delivers exactly what you feel... reggae infused ska w/ a blend of rock... absolute!
Had a Messy nervous breakdown a week ago, spent last days either sleeping xanned out or drinking myself to sleep. Just wanted to die and still do but decided to sober up a bit pick up the pieces and try to move on. I know things won't be all ok anytime soon but Sublime always makes things feel even a tiny bit better and helps me get through all the shit.
Me too
Madness
Keep your head up and run at life with intent, love, and hatred! Get back up when you’re down. Don’t submit to your weaknesses. Love life and live it until you die. Also, remember you’re never alone. It doesn’t matter how alone you feel there ARE people who love you for who you are and whatever you’re going through is only another reason for people to love you. If you don’t believe in a being higher than humans, I suggest you do because personally I was in a hole I never thought I’d get out of and God helped me. now I am a pilot for American Airlines living how I want to. Not how others want me to.
Hey friend, hope you can get your attention more on these things and moments that make you feel good.. life is a hard battle but it is a beautiful one if you choose the right optics

Takes a trip to GG films in Huntington and long beach 🤣
I still got the CD😄, and sometimes played it in my car
My CD got stolen because it was too dope
Can't remember the name of the night club in Garden Grove but it was one of the places where you could see in the late 70' early 80's what later became known as Ska bands. A lot of memories in this video the good and the bad. Friends who overdosed, got hooked on meth, heroin, etcetera. Body surfing, skateboarding from Huntington to San Clemente, Mt. Baldy Pipeline skateboarding in early 70's before parks. Snow skiing, desert hot springs, Colorado River. What a life growing up.
I was a pool cleaner at this time and sublime made so cool I felt like surfer with all this fox Beach gear bumpin sublime on a tacoma blazing a blunt good ol days
nick tucker in the video
That’s right! Garden Grove in tha house! From tha East 2 tha West🧭
Representin LBC quite well. Thanks!
Second tattoo was a sublime sun tattoo, loved this band since I was a kid 💚
Me and all my close friends in college in Delaware lived Sublime so much that's all we played, whether we were sitting around table to play hand of Texas hold em or having a party but my friend Matt harrigan (AKA Nonsense Harrigan) named us the RGC (Rock Garden Crew) and my apt started being called the Rock Garden - I created a bunch of artwork and poster boards to hang on my walls after we decided to start using that name for our crew.... And needless to say this song (Garden Grove) was the inspiration for our crews new nickname! 😎
Lived my whole life knowing this group and this song has always been #1 even though it's hard to choose a favorite.
That's right Long Beach lbc forever best band forever
Growing up in the 90's/early 00's in SoCal parents from garden grove, this shit hits so dam hard.
Ive always loved this band, i feel very blessed to have known this time in history personally.
