Hell yeah. Bought that religiously as a kid! LOVED the glow in the dark skeleton and the posters that came with it. Never put the skin on the model for the exact same reason I won’t put it on this one. The skeleton is too cool!
A part of my brain really wants to try and see if I could stretch that Playmates Godzilla with removable rubber skin over this kit just for the fun of it.
let's not forget that Kiryu is a cyborg that is built on a dead Godzilla skeleton, imagine someone made a model kit of Kiryu that has the Godzilla skeleton underneath the armor, that would be cool.
I wish Bandai would do articulated Goji kits. With how the GWitch, RoV, and Rising Freedom kits turned out, I'd think they could do great, and be an alternative to a figure.
I don't think using Gundams as a point of comparison works, because mechas just move differently than fleshy creatures do. I'd be looking at the latest Figure-Rises and the RG Evas instead.
the "work" needed for both can be done by any amateur with cement and sanding sticks, after cementing the seam lines you can literally throw a sanding stick at it and the scratch lines will make it look even more realistic once you weather it, which can be done with a brown or yellow Gundam marker and the tamiya weathering master set, I can already tell what I'll need to do and it seems quite fun
Really great especially with getting basically 2 kits for one price. Adding some metallic blue to the dorsal plates & inner mouth on the skin version, would really make things pop imo. I gotta check out Hobby Link Japan myself if they carry Godzilla merch like this👍
This kit just arrived yesterday. I think both the skeleton and skin need work. With the skeleton, I think you need to paint it ivory colour and matte coat it. With the skin, you'll need to fill in the seams and add details with putty, then paint and matte coat it. Maybe design a base that will redistribute the weight to the front and glue the feet to it so you don't need the plastic tail support.

When I bought Bandai's Metal Greymon, a friend asked me if there's Skullgreymon. I thought it'd be ridiculous for Bandai to consider a figure comprised of... skeletons. And here we are with a Goji-fossil in Mecha Gaikotsu Museum.
The skeleton looks great. I just wish they didn’t use that movie version of Godzilla. Because the first time we see Godzilla skeleton after the original movie was in Godzilla against Mecha Godzilla from 2002/2003.
Out of topic question, but what do you all do with all the boxes of the gunplay after finishing building them? Throw them out? Keep them? And all the extra pieces, do you all keep them in their box or all together in one special box? I have built some since long ago and still having issues with their boxes😅

I think they miss a great opportunity here, they should have done a big shell of Godzilla with skin in two parts so you can have two Godzilla's with half bones and half skin, still the bone Godzilla looks awesome and looks like you can mix and match some parts with skin and bones battle damage Godzilla any one.
Cool and all, except Plannosaurus kits cost around 2000 yen while this Godzilla costs a whopping 7500. And when built it looks like a poor CGI attempt from the 90s

'gojira' is a top shelf classic. i'm sure it was a kick. my pops took me to my very first movie- it was called 'godzilla vs the smog monster' at a viewing in 'seventy-three, i think. great movie, which is actually 'godzilla vs hedora'. i barely remember, but i remember. always will. say hi to dad.
Imagine a Perfect Grade Mecha Godzilla. Bandai wouldn't even have to ask for my money they'd immediately, space to display the model would be an afterthought 😂😂
Bandai could had made the plastic glow in the dark but then again you could spray or hand paint the glow in the dark paint on the skeleton. As for the skinned model, guess u could use the black primer and not notice the matted paint that you could add to it. I'm getting it and still painting it to glow in the dark maybe in the supernova red&orange when Godzilla went nuclear.
Glow in the dark paint spray have a few different colours now ( I only have the standard greenish by Montana at the moment I'm trying to find a shop that has the whole range including the UV range) I've tried the GITD spray on my one piece merry sails with decent results

As far as I know there isn’t any store in Ireland selling gunpla per se. They’re might be some stores like Sub City and Forbidden Planet in bigger cities which might stock a couple of kits if you’re lucky, but usually you need to go online to get kits.

Looks amazing, one thing to mention, it seems Godzilla is not an saurischian. Meaning it is not a dinosaur, as it does not have a dinosaur hip.
