This series got me into Gunpla too. I started with Lfrith Ur to make all of my mistakes and learn how to fix and sand. I don’t want to ruin the other four models I bought but this video is convincing me to get more.
This has definitely been a wild ride, both in regards to the show and model kit line. My heart will forever belong to the Darilbalde (the Schwarzette is a damn close second); Ippei Gyoubu is such a master class designer. You really can't go wrong with any of these guys, and I'm really glad to see HGs reach a new level for the hobby.
Recently finally got into Gunpla after finishing my Master Piece Transformers collection. Witch from Mercury is a nice change of pace, cute girls doing war crimes in Mecha is a genre I was missing. Love the designs and thanks for your videos.
Thanks to this video I've settled on my first ever Gunpla; I just ordered the Calibarn and Zowort Heavy. I'm an avid 40k player and scale model builder so I'm not exactly new to plastic-crack, but I came into Gundam kind of randomly after watching Endless Waltz on Crunchy Roll and didn't really have any idea where to start, you're a great ambassador for your hobby and your videos have been extremely helpful.
I got myself the HG calibarn and it's the only kit I got from the entire g witch anime. When I first saw glimpses of it mentioned in the anime, I absolutely fell in love with it. Something about the simplicity and sleek blocky angles was just eery and scary but that made it so much cooler. And the significance and the fact that it had no filter and therefore harmed the pilot more made it feel more like a contract with the devil and that was a touching element for me cuz it just adds realness and depth to the MS and suletta. I have yet to build it (uni student things) but getting it was nigh impossible especially where I live (south east Asia). Almost anywhere I went, it was sold out and all the vendors told me the same thing, "wait for the next stock or preorder yourself". I was lucky to get it in store one day right after they restocked but holy hell there were only a few boxes left when I got there and people were queuing up for it.
i havent built all of the Witch from mercury kits, but i have built over half of them so far, this is the line of Gunpla that pulled me back into Building! and it was actually your build review of Guels Dilanza that was the exact moment i was pulled back into Gunpla building and gundam in general (thank you for that!). i feel like that is probably why i would personally rank Guels Dilanza so much higher on the list than you did, but i honestly love the Witch from mercury line and i really hope to see some more Witch from Mercury mobile suits and hopefully we will get another Witch from mercury Timeline series!
I basically have the same rankings. Bandai recently announced Demi Garrison (for pbandai 😡) it looks pretty good probably right under Demibarding in my ranking. Hopefully we get more HG Gwitch kits. I really want a Gundnode plus flight pack, the Darilbalde Michaelis Pharact expansion kit, and HG Desultor kit.
Honestly Calibarn was love at first sight, both when i saw it in the anime and the HG. I do really hope that they are going to release a 1/100 version of it or even better a full MG... I have been watching people online installing led kits and honestly it's illegally cool for being just an HG kit.
Good list. As someone just now getting into Gundam kits, G-Witch was an incredibly lucky find to start with. Based on my personal experiences and preferences, I would have put the Shwartzette on top, but that's just me. I've gotten a couple Iron Blooded Orphans kits now too, and while I like the designs, it's honestly astounding how much better built these G-Witch kits are.
Aerial is my first Gunpla ever, it was really fun to build and it looks super cool in any pose. I still haven't decided which one will be the next. I was tempted by the Aerial Rebuild, but you made a really good point about the Lfrith being hot pink with bunny ears XD (Also the details in the kit are very cool).

I'm glad my first gunpla is number 1 on this list, going into the gunpla comunity with nothing but a whim buying calibarn at the gundamn base in odaiba.
I've been collecting Gunpla for years now. Put the HG Ariel together and was blown away. I want to get all the WfM HG's to have on display,i love all the designs and the kits look so much fun to build.
Kinda feeling it must be a mistake for Sunrise n Bandai to commission a 25 ep run for a series worth of 20 gunplas. Some only appear for 2 or 3 eps or even minutes without much action. That's a shame as the WFM kits are great kits and even broke the sales records. Not sure of they can repeat the same feat in the next Gundam series.

I'm very hopeful that G-Witch shows the industry that there really is a significant audience for yuri anime out there and that it leads to more big-budget yuri anime in the future. Now if only Bandai would stop being homophobic about the romance being "up to interpretation" when they're *literally married*.
@@flip.flap. Well they let the director of the series confirm iron-clad that they're married, so safe to say they've loosened up after the backlash to the interpretation bit.
Maybe there was more planned, but they had to rush it. Second half feels very rushed when watching the episodes back to back, while the first was very slow both with story and character development

WRT the Demi barding, I think not seeing the wire support unit on screen supports my feeling that WFM was supposed to be a longer series (standard 50 episodes maybe) but other factors we’ll probably never know cut it down to what we got. Also kind of explains why we got kits with barely any screen tine vs other series. I stick to 1:100 so only have the Full mechanics, but the HGs do look good

I think that’s a cool idea, but the issue is the other lines have gotten so many kits that it would be near impossible to rank all of them in one video
I understand MGs and RGs take a while to be designed but I think it was a missed opportunity to not at least do one for this show. This show was extremely popular and even friends of mine who don't watch gundam knew about it. Missed marketing opportunity imo.
It took 3 years after the show ended for them to release MG Barbatos. With how ridiculously good Bandai model has become, it make sense that the newest show will not get a MG treatment soon.
Bought Lfrith as my 3rd gunpla without knowing the anime series. Just thought it was a nice looking gunpla. Then i dive deeper on the internet and saw many others just like it especially calibarn and aerial. Now i know what my next backlogs gonna be. Model from TWFM looks different than other gunpla model. I think it’s the matte finish that gives it the clean high quality looks.

Less plastic in general. Simpler build with no gimmicks. No cockpit. Lighter, cheaper feeling plastic. It has the look of an MG but without the magic underneath.

I took a hiatus from building for a couple years and mostly did MG before. Picked up an HG Aerial Rebuild to try next so I'm glad to see it's part of a new era.
I kinda retired from the hobby but the calibarn design is really tempting me to come back. If they release a MG or at least FM, i will get one in a heartbeat.
@@donaldzuramp4404 MG Aile Strike is the last kit I've built almost 20 years ago, FM Aerial brought me back into the hobby. They don't require modding or much time since it's less parts compared to MG. Just panel line, decal, topcoat, and it's looking awesome, brings back the joy of building gunpla for me. Would love to have more quality FM kits, Calibarn especially.
DANG IT. I took a break from collecting, but now I have to get them all, because these all look good to me. I didn't realize how high quality this whole line was..
The demi trainer was my first ever gunpla kit, and it's what started my addiction to the HG line specifically. I plan to get every kit from the Witch line so I can display them all together. Currently waiting on my Zowort Heavy and Tickbalang kits to arrive.
Haven't gotten around to watching GWitch yet (top of my backlog rn) but the minute I saw the Michaelis I fell in love, such a cool design and reminds me a lot of my favorite character from Destiny 2, Saint-XIV. love the silver/white + purple colorway and the crusader knight aesthetic, just ordered that kit and can't wait to build and display it!
I'm kinda sad that these are all the kits bandai made for this series, beside the p bandai. There are still a lot of potential mobile suits from the series, like the earthians grunts (i forgot the name), and gundnodes and their flight unit
I agree with the scratch building usecase... thinking back to the mods I just made on my latest build... cutting the parts would've been a lot faster and cleaner- much less dust lol. I also think if they dialed back the power so that the plastic literally didnt melt and made it more handheld, it'd have a serious case for heavy gunpla use! Great video 👌
My favorites were Heindree, Gundvolva, Lfrith, Guel's Dilanza, Darilbalde and Schwarzette. I just couldn't get the Heindree yet. But I thinks it's really hard for me to say that they are better than the HG Moon Gundam, which is my favorite. Lfrith and Schwarzette are tied right after Moon. PS: The Rubris X Lfrith is just the japanese way of pronouncing that word, in English they usually say "luh-fri-th" and in Japanese they struggle with foreign words and it becomes "ru-bu-ri-su" or "Rubris". We have that exact same thing with mcdonalds (maku donarudo), starbucks (sutabakusu) and so on.
so many of these suits were so under utilized in the anime. Only got a tiny bit of screen time. Demi Barding is the biggest example. Especially that tease in the opening cinematic
The first Gundam kit I picked up (at Haneda airport, Tokyo lol) was your number one choice, so I'm glad I seem to have an eye for them. What's more it was only around $13!

Also, I found out about The Tempest being a reference-point/story parallel from elsewhere, and didn't really know it that well, but thank you for mentioning it and also mentioning the differences in Aerial vs Calibarn - I hadn't caught it at first, but that is actually a really cool aspect that they kept in mind!
the pharact looks so much like an armored core, it's gorgeous. also the sniper rifle being called arquebus and the colour scheme being identical to the arquebus group purple/dark blue give a very strong armored core VI vibe
Funny enough i was choosing between the dilanza sol and aerial before seeing thi, but ended up with the dilanza. even though it's ranked low, it has amazing articulation for a bulky suit like this one, I'm actually gonna try to get the caliburn in order to see the top of the line
As someone who loves the pharact and owns the HG it was done an absolute disservice with the c-clips like on the lfrith and the aerial rebuild it's fine but the pharact's having gotten stupidly loose especially the ones on the backpack and heels(which broke on me in the build somehow), so I would probably rank it similarly.(still absolutely love the lfrith, aerial rebuild and pharact because of its absolutely badass design)
I'm assuming we'll get it eventually since they're going with P-Bandai ones through other minor suits and ones from the manga stories such as the new alternate Lfrith
I'm a little somewhat new but almost experienced on building gunpla recently and so far i have schwarzette, aerial rebuild, aerial hg, aerial full mechanics, caliburn, and barbatos mg, i have never tried painting one of them for custom before and hopefully i will because i do have some paint and an airbrush but someday I'm hoping to get either the unicorn gunpla or the freedom mgex probably on my b'day
I have not built any of these yet and that is cause I only started in December to build some with Dynames and Sinanju both MG which I love this size and bigger. I do have some love for the smaller hg but I wish they made them in MG size. I feel like I get more out of building them and bigger parts. So far for this new year I bought Hi-V Gundam kit and also Raider Gundam both are MG and just cause he got wings Wing Gundam Zero EW which is HG. Only thing I am missing right now is my favorite white Paint/Primer color which is Powder White. I love the look and feel of this paint type and my stores stop selling it. I also plan on getting Red Ashtray and Barbatos and Stein. These are must before I buy anything else.
started Gunpla while GWitch was coming out and have a good number of the HGs, honestly i should start trying to finish my collection of the HG line as possible. However, I do want to try some Master Grades so if Bandi releases MGs for Aerial, Calibarn, or Darilbalde (my beloved) I will jump on those so fast.
My favorite MS from the series is the Michaelis, so it hurt to see it not selling. But, overall I have not had a bad experience with any of these kits. The only issue I encountered was the C-Clips in Pharacts backpack, but other than that, no complaints.
This show got me into gunpla, as did my husband. Part way through building my first model, hg schwarzette with hg aerial and hg infinite justice waiting. Actually had to tear myself away to do other things.....
i just finished this anime and i gotta say this may make me come back to gunpla building hobby (as i was collecting way back when IBO was popular) i wish it had more time to develop but nevertheless, the show was suprisingly good
Man I'm gonna miss this line and it's beautiful box arts, for me the best one of the line is the Darilbalde, such a beautiful kit filled with gimmicks, I love it.
great tier list, i have the same tier in mind but i am alsowaiting to receive the Pbandai lfrith jiu from buyee tomorrow, i think thaT one will be high in this list too!
This is definitely helpful for any witch from mercury model kits I may want in the future as I got my frost one recently of guel’s Dolan a because in the anime it is my favorite mobile suit as I am a sucker for bulky mechs with a very knight esque look to them and the partizan was another reason as I also like very stylish melee weapons like a spear, axe, halberd, lance and shield or even my personal favorite a war hammer (especially if it has rockets in the back of it)
they're pretty good for beginners, yeah, HG kits in general tend to be pretty good for that, and the G-witch ones lack a lot of the out-of-box problems you see with some older HG lines so they'll give you a relatively hassle-free experience as for the number, there are more than 20, Mecha just did some sneaky combining to make the list come to a more clickable round number

I bought the HG Calibarn on a whim after building the Aerial Rebuild (my first kit) a couple months earlier and Calibarn was so good and so fun to build I went out immediately after and bought another HG. Oops the next one I bought was #20 on this list 😬
Loved the video! That aside can anyone help me? So the internet says that gray markers are supposed for white parts, but I think its better to go for black and just to confirm dont gray and brown colors wear out?
I find all the colors but gray bleed and fade. Black/grey for panel lines is really just a preference. I like how subtle grey is on white. I think the contrast of black on white is too strong.

Comeback. We got FM Gundam Aerial
Calibarn and Pharact are the primary reasons I decided to give some of the Witch From Mercury kits a chance.

@@donaldzuramp4404 MG Aile Strike is the last kit I've built almost 20 years ago, FM Aerial brought me back into the hobby. They don't require modding or much time since it's less parts compared to MG. Just panel line, decal, topcoat, and it's looking awesome, brings back the joy of building gunpla for me. Would love to have more quality FM kits, Calibarn especially.

DANG IT. I took a break from collecting, but now I have to get them all, because these all look good to me. I didn't realize how high quality this whole line was..
The demi trainer was my first ever gunpla kit, and it's what started my addiction to the HG line specifically. I plan to get every kit from the Witch line so I can display them all together. Currently waiting on my Zowort Heavy and Tickbalang kits to arrive.
Haven't gotten around to watching GWitch yet (top of my backlog rn) but the minute I saw the Michaelis I fell in love, such a cool design and reminds me a lot of my favorite character from Destiny 2, Saint-XIV. love the silver/white + purple colorway and the crusader knight aesthetic, just ordered that kit and can't wait to build and display it!
I'm kinda sad that these are all the kits bandai made for this series, beside the p bandai. There are still a lot of potential mobile suits from the series, like the earthians grunts (i forgot the name), and gundnodes and their flight unit
Solid ranking.
My top 3 kits from WFM gunpla are
1) Schwarzette
2) Lfrith
3) Calibarn
Schwarzette looks more royalty and deserves that #1 spot for me.
I agree with the scratch building usecase... thinking back to the mods I just made on my latest build... cutting the parts would've been a lot faster and cleaner- much less dust lol.
I also think if they dialed back the power so that the plastic literally didnt melt and made it more handheld, it'd have a serious case for heavy gunpla use! Great video 👌
My favorites were Heindree, Gundvolva, Lfrith, Guel's Dilanza, Darilbalde and Schwarzette. I just couldn't get the Heindree yet.
But I thinks it's really hard for me to say that they are better than the HG Moon Gundam, which is my favorite. Lfrith and Schwarzette are tied right after Moon.
PS: The Rubris X Lfrith is just the japanese way of pronouncing that word, in English they usually say "luh-fri-th" and in Japanese they struggle with foreign words and it becomes "ru-bu-ri-su" or "Rubris".
We have that exact same thing with mcdonalds (maku donarudo), starbucks (sutabakusu) and so on.

so many of these suits were so under utilized in the anime. Only got a tiny bit of screen time. Demi Barding is the biggest example. Especially that tease in the opening cinematic
Exactly, everything felt so crammed, and its annoying that the crew and writer couldn't tell the whole story they had planned

The first Gundam kit I picked up (at Haneda airport, Tokyo lol) was your number one choice, so I'm glad I seem to have an eye for them. What's more it was only around $13!
the Gundvolva was the first Gundam I'd bought and built in a while and it's EASILY my favourite of my collection right now
The show, the model kit line, is amazing!! It really feels like a witch using it's magic for this to happened
HG GUNDAM CALIBARN SLAYS THE FM GUNDAM AERIAL!!! I was not at all expecting such an outcome.
Praying that one day they’ll make a Master Grade Aerial since I can’t find the full mechanics Aerial anywhere 😭
I need all of these (maybe some dupes of a couple grunts). Thank you for this ranking list. Also, I found out about The Tempest being a reference-point/story parallel from elsewhere, and didn't really know it that well, but thank you for mentioning it and also mentioning the differences in Aerial vs Calibarn - I hadn't caught it at first, but that is actually a really cool aspect that they kept in mind!

came here because i played armoured core 6 and am now undergoing a mech obsession. This looks insanely cool, great vid very useful
the pharact looks so much like an armored core, it's gorgeous. also the sniper rifle being called arquebus and the colour scheme being identical to the arquebus group purple/dark blue give a very strong armored core VI vibe
Once I get better at airbrushing, I will get a Zowort and paint it gold, I will also change the head to a custom head. I will call it Zoworto
Then put a mini road roller beside it lol

Funny enough i was choosing between the dilanza sol and aerial before seeing thi, but ended up with the dilanza. even though it's ranked low, it has amazing articulation for a bulky suit like this one, I'm actually gonna try to get the caliburn in order to see the top of the line
As someone who loves the pharact and owns the HG it was done an absolute disservice with the c-clips like on the lfrith and the aerial rebuild it's fine but the pharact's having gotten stupidly loose especially the ones on the backpack and heels(which broke on me in the build somehow), so I would probably rank it similarly.(still absolutely love the lfrith, aerial rebuild and pharact because of its absolutely badass design)
We need the lfrith prototype as a kit. Seriously, that blue one looked amazing. And the backpack is awesome
I'm assuming we'll get it eventually since they're going with P-Bandai ones through other minor suits and ones from the manga stories such as the new alternate Lfrith
I'm a little somewhat new but almost experienced on building gunpla recently and so far i have schwarzette, aerial rebuild, aerial hg, aerial full mechanics, caliburn, and barbatos mg, i have never tried painting one of them for custom before and hopefully i will because i do have some paint and an airbrush but someday I'm hoping to get either the unicorn gunpla or the freedom mgex probably on my b'day
I can definitely see some G Witch kits being remade in a new Build Fighters/Divers series.
I just thought about it, but you can use the pink eye stickers from calibarn for the Schwartzette's non reflective eye problem.
I have not built any of these yet and that is cause I only started in December to build some with Dynames and Sinanju both MG which I love this size and bigger. I do have some love for the smaller hg but I wish they made them in MG size. I feel like I get more out of building them and bigger parts. So far for this new year I bought Hi-V Gundam kit and also Raider Gundam both are MG and just cause he got wings Wing Gundam Zero EW which is HG. Only thing I am missing right now is my favorite white Paint/Primer color which is Powder White. I love the look and feel of this paint type and my stores stop selling it. I also plan on getting Red Ashtray and Barbatos and Stein. These are must before I buy anything else.
I did make some kits before but this linewas that ACTUALLY got me into building kits
started Gunpla while GWitch was coming out and have a good number of the HGs, honestly i should start trying to finish my collection of the HG line as possible. However, I do want to try some Master Grades so if Bandi releases MGs for Aerial, Calibarn, or Darilbalde (my beloved) I will jump on those so fast.
Looks-wise Schwarzette takes the cake
Calibarn is my very first gunpla kit. I've been looking for others before but Calibarn had win my heart.
This is the first line of gunpla that I've decided on trying to own everything. I just love the design

My favorite MS from the series is the Michaelis, so it hurt to see it not selling. But, overall I have not had a bad experience with any of these kits. The only issue I encountered was the C-Clips in Pharacts backpack, but other than that, no complaints.
Master Grade aerial in 6 years and they'll never make anything else in the WFM line, just like barbs
This show got me into gunpla, as did my husband. Part way through building my first model, hg schwarzette with hg aerial and hg infinite justice waiting. Actually had to tear myself away to do other things.....

i just finished this anime and i gotta say this may make me come back to gunpla building hobby (as i was collecting way back when IBO was popular)

Man I'm gonna miss this line and it's beautiful box arts, for me the best one of the line is the Darilbalde, such a beautiful kit filled with gimmicks, I love it.

great tier list, i have the same tier in mind but i am alsowaiting to receive the Pbandai lfrith jiu from buyee tomorrow, i think thaT one will be high in this list too!
This is definitely helpful for any witch from mercury model kits I may want in the future as I got my frost one recently of guel’s Dolan a because in the anime it is my favorite mobile suit as I am a sucker for bulky mechs with a very knight esque look to them and the partizan was another reason as I also like very stylish melee weapons like a spear, axe, halberd, lance and shield or even my personal favorite a war hammer (especially if it has rockets in the back of it)

they're pretty good for beginners, yeah, HG kits in general tend to be pretty good for that, and the G-witch ones lack a lot of the out-of-box problems you see with some older HG lines so they'll give you a relatively hassle-free experience
as for the number, there are more than 20, Mecha just did some sneaky combining to make the list come to a more clickable round number

I bought the HG Calibarn on a whim after building the Aerial Rebuild (my first kit) a couple months earlier and Calibarn was so good and so fun to build I went out immediately after and bought another HG. Oops the next one I bought was #20 on this list 😬

Loved the video! That aside can anyone help me? So the internet says that gray markers are supposed for white parts, but I think its better to go for black and just to confirm dont gray and brown colors wear out?
I find all the colors but gray bleed and fade. Black/grey for panel lines is really just a preference. I like how subtle grey is on white. I think the contrast of black on white is too strong.
